UPDATE: in response to the only 1-star review here, Nick's account in his reply is 100% accurate. It was a retaliatory review. She stated on NextDoor that her husband "loved" Junk Cat. The Measure C tax initiative in June 2026 was very divisive to the community and she is retaliating for business owner Nick's opposing stance concerning the tax (which lost) and him pointing out her shockingly cruel sentiments aimed at our senior citizen community members. I've used JunkCat's services several more times since my initial review and stand by my 5-star review. Awesome business. Friendly, thorough, caring, efficient, and responsive... Nick is a stand up business owner. Treats his employees like family and extends his services towards his community generously. I have yet to utilize his services, but I do know that when his clients are getting rid of items, he has a monthly "give away" for community member to try and send off items collected to their future homes rather than the land fill. We have used Junkcat multiple times. Decent service. One time they showed up all pissed off we asked them to move a sleeper sofa even though it was clearly outlined in the email but we were willing to write it off. Then unfortunately the owner of Junkcat started behaving aggressively toward me on Nextdoor because I disagree with him on a local ballot measure (about a library of all things, if you can believe it). I no longer feel it would be appropriate or safe to let this man in my house. Just an FYI that he seems to care more about voting down the town library than ensuring customer comfort or return business. read more

For Christmas this year I wanted to get rid of my pile of junk. I called Junkcat on Wednesday and Nick and his able assistant were out on Thursday. I was quoted a price due to some photos I sent to Nick but when he arrived he dropped the price when he saw actually what was being picked up. Junkcat did a great job at a great price. I love Junkcat! I choose them because Nick has so many positive reviews here on Yelp. Nick was easy to schedule. He was communicative about his arrival time, when delayed by a citywide marathon. He and his assistant worked quickly and cleanly. I would definitely use them again! In particular, I had no idea that the sofa left behind by a tenant was not going to fit through the apartment door. When Nick and his assistant realized this, Nick got out an electric saw and expertly sawed the sofa into a few large pieces and viola, the sofa is gone. I never would have had the skills or tools to manage getting out that sofa. And of course there were other large items to carry out of the apartment, down the porch steps, into his truck and to the dump. He charged me a flat fee of $250, I think that is their minimum, and it was worth every penny. No fuss, no muss. I loved how easy it was to get rid of these things within just one hour, when it would have taken me a couple weekends to do. I will definitely use them again! read more

I had a haul away project for my commercial building on Piedmont Avenue. I called a few places I found on Yelp and some of them were not very responsive. I called Junkcat and sent them photos of the areas and items that needed to be hauled away. They were very quick to respond with estimated pricing and they also could come the same day or the next day. The next day their team came and efficiently moved all the items and discovered even more items and rubbish to remove. The job ended up being a lot larger than what I sent by photos and they fairly made an adjustment to the fees. Overall great work and they were very good about communicating to me about the other things they discovered that needed to be removed. Very happy with Junkcat. Absolutely the best in the business!!! I can't say enough great things about Nick and Sean!!! Today we were preparing for a move and these guys helped haul tons of stuff we couldn't take on our move cross country. From random stuff we found in our storage unit, to just tons of old/unwanted furniture, household junk, landscaping waste like heavy pavers, and we even were able to clean out what was left in our fridge and freezer! They even hauled heavy furniture down multiple flights of stairs with ease. We would not have been ready for our move without this team - they were truly lifesavers today and kept us on schedule. I've used other junk services in other cities and never had such an incredible experience - and was always paying higher rates too. I haven't paid Junkcat for services, but I received a free mini-fridge from them that they retrieved from a clear-out. I spent some time talking with Nick and he seems like an incredibly kind, genuine person. Please know that if you're paying for removal services, it will be rehomed (rather than just dumped) if at all possible. The margins on this kind of business are incredibly thin, and we need people like Nick to help us keep stuff out of landfills. Please support this business! read more
