I can say unequivocally that Titan Moving & Storage is the finest moving company that my family has ever worked with, and we are unbelievably grateful to Ted and the rest of his team for their phenomenal work on our most recent move. Like many, I've had some horrible experiences with moving companies; final costs astronomically higher than estimates, broken furniture, and unprofessional and late movers. All that changed after recently working Titan Moving & Storage; Ted came to our house initially and provided an estimate for the move, and devised a thoughtfully planned timeline and order of events to make it happen. He was courteous, knowledgeable, and had great taste in music (fact). After we chose to hire Titan Moving after reviewing several other estimates, Ted swung by periodically to help us by dropping off some boxes in advance and offer some additional moving and packing tips. On the first day of our three day move, Ted came by on time with the rest of his professional staff and got to work. Every one of his employees was kind, professional, and hard working. They performed like a well-oiled machine and made short work of what they needed to accomplish while remaining courteous to our family's schedule and needs. The next two days of physically moving items to our new house followed a similar battle rhythm with even more positive surprises. My family owns a large L-shaped sofa that had its frame cracked due to our last movers. I notified Ted and crew about the issue in advance of the move simply to let them know that it was "broke" before they touched it. To our amazement, one of their employee's actually took the time to reinforce and patch up the internal frame the best they could after delivery, from our perspective he literally "fixed" our sofa. We offered to compensate him and he politely declined, stating he was happy to help and it was "just part of the job". That above and beyond attitude, initiative, and variety of knowledgeable skill sets was par for the course for each of Titan Moving & Storage's employees. At the end of the move, our final bill came out LESS than the estimate, which is absolutely a "first" in our history of working with other moving companies, and a welcome financial relief for our family after closing on a new home and budgeting for a variety of necessary projects. Bottom Line: Ted and the rest of his staff at Titan Moving & Storage provide a world-class moving experience due to their work ethic, attitude, job expertise, diverse skill sets, and accurate estimates. My move with Titan Moving & Storage was a breeze, and a great experience. From the moment I contacted them, Ted Bowler, one of the owners, called me back very rapidly to setup an appointment to provide an in-house estimate. When he came, he went over the options I had (packing all the items my self, getting help for the kitchen, etc.) and estimated how many moving boxes I would need. A few days before the move, Ted called to confirm the moving date and asked if I was ready and how much stuff needed to be packed still. On the day of the move, five friendly movers and two trucks arrived on time. They emptied my 2-bedroom apartment filled with over 150 boxes and pieces of furniture in a little over two hours. All the pieces of furniture were carefully wrapped in plastic films, and blankets, the electronics and plants put in large bins with extra cushioning. When the movers arrived at the new place, a 3-level townhouse, they placed all the boxes and pieces of furniture very professionally in the designated areas. They put the bed, electronic equipment shelves, and table back together. And more importantly, there were absolutely no scratches or dents on the walls or wood floor. I was very impressed and delighted as the townhouse was just recently painted and new floor had been installed. The last thing I wanted was to deal with repairs or touch-ups. A few days after the move, Ted called me to check if I was satisfied with the service they provided. If you have to move, I highly recommend you hire them! I am going to make this as short as possible. Anyone considering using this organization or any of their sister companies heed my words. THEY ARE THEIVES, CROOKS, LIARS, EXTORTIONISTS. The sales person over promises, under charges so you buy their service. They broke items in the move, they stole items in the move. They delivered 3 weeks later than guaranteed. They made me pay extra cash at pickup and delivery or they were going to leave my belongings on the curb at both locations. I was alone so I had no choice. They forced me to sign a contract I did not agree with and they doubled the price in doing so. I have emailed, called, left vmails, txts. All go unanswered to this day 2 months later. I have filed 2 police reports against them, have filed a grievance with the BBB, have contacted the department of transportation to file a claim against them. It seriously could not have gone any better. The initial quote was thorough, accurate and fair. Ted, the owner, was very observant and reviewed all of the variables up front and followed up on them in the end to make sure I understood the pricing, despite that I had ZERO issues with it. Everyone at Titan was great. Nobody freaked me out with scary logistical questions, they managed the move with no effort from me and my stuff arrived and was placed in tip top shape. The only moving day surprise was how absolutely stress free it was. I am a creature of habit and change makes my hair fall out, so moving is something I have avoided at all costs. Had I known how easy it would be, I'd probably have done it a loooooong freaking time ago--I wasn't staying in that old, crappy apartment out of love. I learned of Titan from the lady who sold me her place (the one I moved to). She vets everything oh-so-thoroughly--she's the type to dot ALL of her i's and cross all of her t's, and she's not afraid to ask the tough questions, so I was glad to take her recommendation. They have 2 trucks, both straight trucks 26' long each truck quipped with the Titan Moving and Storage Alexandria, VA. They have 4 gentlemen that are the core of the group (Ted (owner), Will, Scott and Alvaro) and seasonal helpers when needed. They are the utmost professional, ethical and hard working group you will ever meet. The company that is causing the scam issues is under the same name (Titan) but has a different DOT (department of transportation) number, website and location. The scam company only does interstate moves because they can hold your items and charge more upon delivery. If you look on the false websites (www.titanmovingandstorage.com; www.titanvanlines.com) the pictures they have are generic and have no unique pictures, items, reviews or anything. The addresses listed are empty lots or generic buildings. I have worked in the moving industry for 8 years and have seen this scam happen all over the country. The reviews on Angies List and Yelp are stellar for this company and that's why I initially reached out. To be fair, I contacted several highly rated companies and Ted from Titan was the first to be in touch and immediately scheduled a meeting for estimate. His estimate was more than fair and it was clear he was a professional and very experienced. It was easy to select Titan and I'm very glad I did. The day of my move (to storage) was a deluge and the team did an excellent job of keeping my stuff dry. They basically tripled packed it with furniture pads, plastic wrap and quilts. It was a lot of extra work, but they did what was necessary to do the job perfectly. They brought a fourth team member on the day--and even though the move took longer than expected because of the weather, Ted stuck by the estimate. I like that 3 of the 4 movers are the owners of the company and it's obvious they take pride in their work. What more can you ask than for the movers to care about your stuff enough to make sure it's all packed and moved correctly? Just choose Titan and move on. You won't find better. read more

But she did warn me that there is a rogue company using the same name that is scamming people out of both money and possessions, so I looked up both companies before passing along any info to my friend. His quotes were professionally done and covered all kinds of contingencies. I loved the fact that he provided guarantees for timely and accurate deliveries of all of our delicate items ( grand piano and legacy China for example).
