I had a good experience at this locations. Both service advisors were courteous, prompt, gave precise timelines, and were excellent at communicating when they said they would. I went through the Veterans Canteen Services to purchase tires. This was one of the referenced service centers to install them. They were familiar with the program, and the transaction went through seamlessly. My vehicle had the new tires installed, and my alignment was corrected. All within the quoted timeline. They also provide flat repairs, which I have used a few times. Jessica and Mercedes were the counter/service persons, and they embodied professionalism and competency. I respected and appreciated that very much, and I feel I got a lot of value for my dollar. I received an Oil Change and full vehicle inspection from this location. It has been an absolute disaster which is sad because from other locations I've not had this pore or service both from a mechanical and customer point of view. I will never use a tires plus again. Their CVI inspection (included in my $113 oil change) flagged "Coolant Level - Low" with a photo of the empty reservoir (Page 3). The invoice notes state: COOLANT LEVEL / EXCHANGE SUGGESTED: Low... REC COOLANT PRESSURE TEST LOW". The only issue is that the employee I spoke to said these were only preventative maintenance and not high priority. They never suggested a pressure test to me over the phone like the invoice states. They also did not put this under the needs immediate action portion of the invoice. They allegedly told me it was low and recommended a pressure test and that I declined which did not occur. If the person I spoke with mentioned this as more than preventative I would have agreed to the testing. Heres my other problem: * They knew the coolant was dangerously low * They did NOT top it off (not a single drop -- no charge, no N/C note) * They let me drive away with a known overheating risk Two weeks later: * Pink coolant pouring out under the engine * Sweet smell in the cabin * Engine hot warning light Classic 3.6L Pentastar Y-pipe failure (Dodge TSB 07-002-19) When I returned with proof: * They blamed "wear and tear" * Said "You declined the test" I was not specifically asked BUT regardless YOU KNEW IT WAS LOW AND DID NOTHING TO PROTECT MY ENGINE * Refused all responsibility MAP standards require shops to warn of safety risks which I was not warned about. Low coolant = imminent engine damage. They documented it, told me, didn't add a drop, and sent me on my way. Now I'm out $500+ for a repair that could've been $50 to top off or caught early with the test if they spelled out the severity of the issue -- but they never said "Don't drive it like this." Negligent. Dangerous. Zero accountability. Go anywhere else. I'll be filing with FCA, MAP, and Nevada DMV. See attached: CVI report (Page 3 - "Low"), Invoice (Page 2 - "REC COOLANT PRESSURE TEST LOW"), and my leak photos. Updating review as I just got my car back from big O. $100 later 80 for labor and $20 for a cap and my vehicle is fixed. Turns out tires plus broke my radiator cap while doing the inspection and failed to mention it. They also reviewed their "findings" and said my systems did not have the issues they found. Extremely Disappointed with Tire Plus - Overpriced and Disorganized I had a terrible experience with Tire Plus and will not be coming back. First of all, they are WAY overpriced. The parts they sell are easily 1.5x more expensive than market prices. There is absolutely no justification for charging that much. Second, what is the point of making an appointment if it means nothing? I scheduled an appointment for a specific time, expecting service to start shortly after arrival. Instead, I was forced to wait 2-3 hours. At that point, it feels like a walk-in, first-come-first-served system, not scheduled service. Why even offer appointments if everyone is treated like they're in a live queue? On top of that, they tried to charge me an additional $35 "supplies" fee, which I find completely unacceptable. This was never clearly explained upfront. I had to argue and demand a refund, and only then did they return the money. The fact that I had to fight for this says a lot about their business practices. Overall, Tire Plus feels disorganized, overpriced, and not transparent with their fees. Save your time, money, and nerves -- there are much better and more honest shops out there. read more

I want to bring attention to an ongoing issue that has been deeply troubling. For the past seven months, I've been taking my vehicles to Tires Plus at 2515 S Virginia St, Reno, NV 89502. Initially, everything was fine until my vehicle was damaged by one of the workers, Michael, who I later learned is the service manager. When I approached Michael about fixing the damage, which would have cost me over $495 in parts alone, he refused to discuss the matter. Instead, he told me to contact the corporate office or come to the store early in the morning to speak with the store manager, since he claimed not to know her schedule. I eventually spoke with the store manager, who apologized for Michael's behavior and assured me that they would fix my vehicle at no additional cost. We agreed that I would bring my car in when it was time for my next oil change. When I returned to the store for the oil change, I was greeted by Michael again. I asked if the parts for my vehicle were available, but Michael became very aggressive and refused to provide any information. He told me I'd have to speak with the store manager, but then refused to give me her contact information, despite having suggested earlier that I speak with her. Michael's behavior made me feel extremely uncomfortable and disrespected, especially when he started walking around the store in a manner that seemed confrontational, telling me to leave because he couldn't help me. I reported this to the corporate office and expressed how uncomfortable I felt. The next morning, I spoke with the store manager again, who once more apologized and informed me that the parts were available and my vehicle could be fixed. I called the store yesterday to make an appointment, and Michael answered the call. After confirming my identity, he told me that I was not welcome at that location and could go to any other Tires Plus store, but not this one. When I questioned him, he refused to elaborate and ended the call. This morning, I called again to speak with the store manager, but Michael answered once more and informed me that he was the only one at the store because everyone else supposedly had COVID. He then refused service to me altogether. At this point, I feel it's necessary to warn others, particularly Black and Brown people, to stay away from this store. The level of racism I've encountered from Michael is unbelievable and unacceptable. I have always been respectful to everyone at this location, and most of the other staff members seem nice, but Michael's behavior has made me feel unwelcome and unsafe. I had to order a special tire for my car and this establishment offered to do at a decent price! Had an oil change a couple months ago and issues with a leak! I met with Michael the Service Manager and he explained what he would do, courtesy check, check oil leaks, rotate, balance, as new tire would be replaced with one that had nails in 5 inches apart...you see I went to another tire place who said no worries on patching those two nail holes 5 inches, I explained I drive freeway and was concerned about blowout! Mind you I had already talked to Mercedes and Justin at Tires Plus whom explained how unsafe, they explained 15 inches apart is one thing but so close would be unsafe! I let Tires Plus do the work and was very pleased when I left! I admire the customer service there and won't hesitate to take car back for next service!! This is a little late on this review. However, while on vacation I got a nail stick near the sidewall and needed to get my tires replaced. Not being home I wasn't sure where to get my car serviced and still not interrupt the vacation. As I was with a group of friends. Fortunately, Jessica R @ TiresPlus was very helpful and reassuring from my initial phone call to when I finally picked up my vehicle. If I take the time to write a review, it's not out of revenge or spite, it's simply for others to avoid wasting hours / days with a company and Tires Plus truly should be held accountable for their lack of care of people's time. I had an appointment at 9:00 to get brakes on, the guy said it will be a couple hours. I left and returned 2 hours later, I assumed the truck was done as it was outside. He said they had returned the parts that they ordered for this appointment (which they ordered 3 weeks earlier when I was there to get my winter tires put on, which is even a worse experience than this, but I rolled the dice on a second chance) . I asked why would you return parts on an appointment and parts you guys made. He couldn't answer. "Why didn't you tell me when I dropped off the car, why didn't you call me when you found this out?" They had no response. Super shady establishment. The appointment 3 weeks prior, I waited 7 hours to get my summer tires swapped to winter tires as they kept making excuses, until it was later revealed that they made a mistake with appointments and couldn't just be hones, they kept giving these excuses to everyone in the lobby. Unless your retired, have a good book, a phone charger, love Judge Judy playing on their TV, I'd go elsewhere. read more

I have been dealing with this company for a long time and have come to the conclusion that they are ONLY ok for TIRES. If you ask about anything else or if they report a general check-up at all then you will find that you are driving a car that is falliung apart! OMG! We can't possibly do the brake pads because some sinister mechanic must not have rotated the rotars and now they have totally failed! Replace the whole thing or else! Now the first time they did this with my new car I took it to a real mechanic and had him double check and yup!...No issue just pads (And no, he was not the sinister fictitious entity btw). Then I brought my hubby's car in for a tire issue and it is only going to cost a few hundred dollars for the pressure because the sensor is failing! Well it was till I got someone to check and patch the tire after they said this and now it is fine. The last straw was when I took my sister's, new to her car, in and asked them to replace the tires and maybe check the brake pads as they squeaked a bit. I told her that this place likes to lie to me and not to put any stock into their stories if it was a catastrophic break down thing. And IT WAS! It was the SAME story I got about my car! I wonder if there is a premade script for this? So we got the tires and sent her on her way to her mechanic and even a secondary one that I like and who knew?! It needs pads. The locked up rotar and the aparently completely missing rotar on the other side that absolutely barred them from any small brakework without spending the $700 on each (That is $1400, count it...a magnificent sale! They even applied a $50 rebate! Holy crap!!!) was a non issue. We got new pads the next day. And so I called the corporate office and the store. I asked if terrorizing and pressurizing the customer with FRAUDULENT claims, because fraud is fraud...is the way that they intended to do business. The corporate office stammered and apologized and told me the DM would call me directly which NEVER happened AT ALL. The guy who originally quoted me? Yeah he stammered and shifted and scampered for a defensive prose. The manager? Well he is not a manager. He is a denier and certainly explained how it was not fraud...And that I must have thought I heard that they could not just do the brakepads on my ssiter's car because the estimate simply said that the rotars needed serviced soon and that certainly they could do the pads! My rosie arse! This place is not a place to take your car to unless you have tire issues and need new tires....perhaps an oil change but I would check the cap! DO NOT LET THEM TOUCH YOUR CAR FOR ANYTHING ELSE. Tires plus, Do not take me for a fool and do not lie to me EVER. Like Trump, You can only lie to people so many times before they know you as a liar. Hence the reason I am paying off my rather large account with you all and NEVER coming back for anything but tires now and again if I cannot find a better deal anywhere else. No need to get back to me now btw...The time has come and gone. Even corporate cannot fix me now. Hopefully this will fix it for other potential customers however and save them from your lies. I brought my car in to take advantage of my lifetime deal on alignment. They also rotated the tires. Soon after I brought the car in I got a call. They told me they were concerned about my brakes and some "streaking" on my windshield. Less than 24 hour previous, I had my car serviced at a different organization. They changed my brakes and replaced my wipers. The call was an attempt to upsell me to their other services. After I told them I had just brought the car in and had the brakes and wiper blades replaced they gave me an "interesting" explanation as to why they were bringing up these two items. My recommendation? Be VERY careful about services recommended by these folks. I will NOT be bringing my vehicle back to them given what happened. read more

I needed a tire patched and plugged from a nail today. Unprofessional and rude guy on the phone was not a great first impression. Then in person I was told there would be at least an hour and a half wait before they got to me. I said I would come back then. He said he would take other cars in front of me if I left. I noticed there were four employees working on one car and no one else was there or waiting. I headed over to Hooten tire co and was patched up in less than 20 minutes with very friendly service. Service was done for a company vehicle. Just normal oil change And tire rotation. Side note the enterprise Rideshare vehicle that my work provided I believe has a business relationship with tires plus so whatever service needs to be done is done at tires plus so I had no choice to chose where to go or to do it myself. Noticed they ask if you are waiting or dropping off the vehicle. Luckily I had a scheduled appointment and told them I would drop it off scheduled for 12pm. Went to lunch and watched a movie and figured they would call and leave a message when the vehicle was done. It was 5pm and I noticed I still haven't got a phone call so I decided to get dropped off at the place. Got there before they were "closing" at 6pm. The vehicle was still in the bay not even done. For a simple oil change and tire rotation? And it was also scheduled. Pretty annoyed at this point also didn't get an apology for the person at the register. Honestly I'm a simple guy if they would've finished it in a couple hours with a phone call would've gave 5 stars. But I guess "Covid" would the excuse right ? The guy I talked to seemed to know about "the glitch" so I'm wondering if there has been a known "glitch" in the system, why didn't someone call me and tell me not to show up, because of "the glitch." I visited the Reno shop to get an alignment. After about 30 minutes, I was told by the front desk guy that it needed a camber bolt on the driver's side. I reminded him that I had told him previously on the phone that I had put one in, but he insisted that it did not have a camber bolt and will need extra 45 dollars for the bolt and 40 dollars to install it. We walked over to the car. I showed him the camber bolt, and he didn't have much to say. The mechanic admitted the error and went back to work. I watched the mechanic finish the alignment. He did a good job, but was not able to get the steering wheel to line up perfectly. It was only a little bit off, but he explained that it would not affect tire wear. I think he is probably correct. The car drives well. I think that it is probably a good place to get an alignment. They are polite and seem to have an acceptable understanding of their vocation. However, as with any auto shop, alignment shops in particular, I would say buyer beware. Do your homework and be prepared to ask questions. read more

I can't believe no one has reviewed these guys yet - they are awesome! When I lived in Reno I brought both my previous cars here, including a problem car that towards the end of it's life had something go bad on it pretty much every week. I got to know the guys pretty well and they're all very friendly and helpful. They could have completely gouged me on repairs for that car, but they didn't - for example they showed me how part of the problem was spark plugs coming lose, and how to put them back in place myself. They didn't charge me for this, and it saved me several visits and plenty of $$$. When I got something newer, I still brought it here for it's maintenance and they were still great, catching things before they became problems but never hard-selling me into getting any work done that I didn't want. They just explained what they'd found, how critical it was, if I could leave it be, and for how much longer would be safe if I did decide to leave it. They also did a lot of work for my dad on his older truck and he has nothing but high praise for them as well. Haven't been to the other Firestone in Reno, but I highly recommend this one to anyone in the area needing work done. read more

Today was my first time here and I had a great experience. I had a 4:30p appointment for an oil change and was about 15 minutes late due to traffic. Despite that, the guys here were still able to see me. I did not have to wait long to have my oil changed. When it was complete, they gave me the usual gambit of things I needed to get done. I did not feel at all pressured into having to get these done, more so informed. I had a few questions about tires and the guys were very knowledgeable and honest about what I needed. When it came time to pay the bill, I paid the full price, even though I have a firestone card which usual yields a small discount. I totally spaced on this detail and when the guy noticed it, he felt really bad and gave me a card so that I got a discount at my next oil change. The environment here is fun and easy going. The guys all seem to enjoy working here and with each other. They seem honest and there was no sales pressure. As a female who usually has to be skeptical when it comes to getting work done on my car, I am pleased to note I did not feel taken advantage of here. I will become a frequent patron. read more
