So the key to getting a good experience here is to get an appointment online. In fact, do everything online. Don't try to call, they're too busy to answer the phone. I am currently here right now waiting for a winter tire change (rate is $88 as of today) and the phone has been ringing for 5 minutes straight and still going. It's not that they don't want to answer, they just can't. This place is ALWAYS busy. Always. So, walk-in and unscheduled, you're going to be waiting a LONG time. But if you have an appointment, it's usually just a wait to check in. Most times my car is done on time or earlier than promised. The actual service is very good, techs do a good job, the guys at the desk are kind and curious. It's just the wait and inability to get anyone on the phone that really keeps this place from 5 stars. Hopefully they can get more upfront staff and stations. read more

I've bought three sets of tires from this location to the tune of ~$2500. Two out of the three sets have balance issues. I've brought back one set four times for re-balancing, including one time when I realized they had left ALL WEIGHTS off of TWO of my wheels. There have also been times when they've slapped 10-15g of weight on a single wheel. They still haven't balanced them correctly and I'm annoyed coming back for a fifth time since it's a two hour round trip from my house. Even with an appointment I've waited for an hour and a half or more after my appointment time, including once waiting three hours to be seen with an appointment. I finally had to take my tires to a reputable shop to get them balanced correctly, and now I don't have the bone-shaking, teeth chattering vibrations at ~70mph I was experiencing. That being said, they have a good price match program, they stand by their products, and have a good warranty. Michael and Billy have been really helpful, and Gavin seems to know his way around a tire balancer. On another visit I purchased new tires and brought new wheels in, I asked them to trash the old existing tires but save the wheels, and paid the disposal fee, I left and later looked in my truck bed to find the tires and wheels in there. I had to return to have them remove the tires I had already paid for them to remove. Just don't expect fast service, or attention to detail. read more

Wow, Discount Tire makes purchasing tires such an easy process! I had a tire that was consistently losing pressure and I was getting nervous driving my car. I went online to their website and was able to plug in all my car info to find appropriate tires. From there, I was able to select a date and time for an appointment. I could see why some folks wouldn't want to pay in advance online, but I was thankful to also take care of payment before I walked in the door. Their system is very robust in that you get emails and texts both confirming and reminding you about your appointment. I enjoyed the automation of that process to help keep me on track. There is even a text you get that shows the status of progress in getting your car taken care of. I used it once just to see if my car had been taken back. Pretty cool! I drive a Hyundai Kona and four tires cost about $580. That was for disposal, installation, and whatever taxes. I didn't find that price too shabby. When I walked into the lobby, there was a short wait and drop off was very easy. There are computer screens for both you and the technician to go over the summary. They did try to sell me some wiper blades but there was no other sales pitch. I left my key and walked over to my gym. Pickup was just as easy. I waited in line, gave my name, and got my keys immediately. No sales talk whatsoever. Love that! Overall, I'm very pleased with my experience. I've been going here for a few years. I've had two appointments in the last few weeks (two different vehicles) that were a disappointment. The service only takes 15 minutes, but both times I waited at least an hour and a half before my car ever moved. Both times, I had an appointment, but wasted 2 hours. I told Billy and another very nice gentleman. that I was not the one that bought the tires the previous owner of my van there they said no worries. They did the balance of rotation for free. I got there at 8 o'clock. I was done by 8:15 absolutely amazed, and I did not have an appointment. They definitely have my business for life. I was just beginning a 3+ hour road trip from Reno to my valley home and my tire pressure light came on. I found Discount Tire on my maps app near my route, entered their parking lot and saw that they were very busy. I suspect it's because they do a great job. I explained my situation and they worked me into their schedule, found and removed the nail causing the problem, fixed and rebalanced the tire, and had me out of there in about 45 minutes. Cheap prices, cheaper service. The only positive was they did have the tires I wanted. The service is sketchy at best. They tried charging me a tire recycling fee even though I explicitly told them I wanted the older tires as a summer set and they were in the back of my truck. They put different sidewalls facing out even though they have different patterns and lettering. And to top it off, they put 82 psi in tires that have a max of 80. I had to return to have it fixed and it took just as long as getting all 4 replaced. Then acted like I was the one in the wrong when I pointed out their issues. The "service tech" tried arguing that it was "normal" but when I showed him proof that it wasn't, he scoffed and wouldn't go get the manager. Pay the $20 difference and get tires at a reputable shop. Or doublecheck the work yourself. read more

Came to discount tire to get some work on my trailer. Called the day before and they told me to come on by and drop it off the next day. I showed up in the morning, waited a few minutes to see someone and showed them what needed to be done, paid and was told it would be ready at 1:30. That time comes and goes and I call them around 2:30 to find out when it will be ready. By this time all plans and any ability to plan anything has gone out the door, I'm told it will be ready 4:00-4:30. Following the app and seeing no update I decided to show up at 5:30 and they just started. As someone who worked in this industry it just frustrates me that they couldn't even be bothered to give me an update or a call to let me know there was a delay. All of our time is valuable and they have. I respect for others time. Unfortunately I wasn't the only person frustrated with their challenges customer service, there seems to be quite a few upset customers that day. If you want to make plans around your all day tire service I suggest you look elsewhere. read more

Told me they were taking them to big o tires to have them try to mount them which they did in 30 minutes. Wasted my whole day and took 2 grand from my pocket. Well spoke too soon, I asked to fix the tire monitor system warning indicator, assured at time of appointment, assured at front desk, after a long wait they didn't address the issue, said that would be a different appointment.
