A week ago, at 10 a.m., I called the owner (a former tax client), asking if he could get me Blizzak tires for my new Tesla Model Y. His manager DROVE to their distribution center, and at 4 p.m. I had my tires installed. The day before, Costco Tire shop told me that they COULDN'T even get Blizzak tires for me! I was VERY WARMLY greeted entering the store by Mike, the manager. He sat with me for 5 to 10 minutes, just "shooting the sh.." I spoke with Cliff on the Friday before Memorial Day Weekend to buy two new tires for my Forerunner to be put on the Tuesday after Memorial Day IMG_8272Weekend. Tuesday arrived and I met Ron at the shop on 4th & Sutro. The whole process was smooth and worry free. I had concerns about the two other tires, the set was 8 years old. Ron showed me the wear on the two other tires and I ended up getting all 4 replaced. I'm so glad Ron took the time to show me how to determine if tires need to be replaced. I prefer to not take chances with automobile tires. I checked the discount tire sites but they didn't even have the tires I needed, besides the price being about the same. After doing some running around for the wife's birthday. We were told that she had a nail in her tire. After doing some looking for a place to repair the tire we remembered that Reno Tire Pros took care of us once before with our old vehicles, Cliff and his team always go above and beyond for us. DO NOT TRUST THIS SHOP. They lie and claim that others broke what they broke. Took my care in for new tires and alignment. First, they broke my wheel locks, and said that it was my fault for not providing a key for it. They said they called to ask for the key, that was the first lie. All my sensors were working before they touched my car. They returned it to me with tire pressure sensors NOT reading. They broke one sensor even though they said they do not know why it's not working, second lie. After going back and forth with them 4 times with my car in person, I decided to take it to the Lexus delearship. Tire pros said they would honor and promise $109 to reprogram the sensors at the Lexus delearship. The Lexus delearship found that there was a broken sensor that was OBVIOUSLY cracked in half. I had to pay $360 to replace that sensor at the delearship. I called Tire pros one last time to ask for the $109 for the reprogramming of the sensors but would NOT pay for the broken sensor tire pros broke, and they said they would have to THINK ABOUT whether they would honor their word of paying for the cost of reprogramming for the sensor (that was replaced because tire pros broke it). DO NOT trust any work to these guys. They are liars and crooks and will break your car and not own up to it. read more

Don't Bother! I went to these guys last week asking for a quote on my brand new car that hit ice and slid into the curb and needed quite a bit of damage fixed. They said I needed to make an appointment, which I made for the next day. After the inspection they said they'd call me to give me the quote. I didn't hear from them in 3 days and so I called them back. The guy said he didn't remember looking at my car (ugh!). I explained the problem again and told him he had performed the inspection and was going to call me back with the quote. He then said he'd found the paperwork and would call me the following day with the quote. Well here we are 4 days later and no call. Very disappointed with their total lack of caring. I've wasted more than a week with these guys and now I have to start again with another business. Oh well, plenty of other places to choose nearby. I have been a customer of Big O Tires for almost 4 decades. Way back with our 1976 Oldsmobile. Then our Dodge Ram 4X4. Now for the last 20 years with our Subaru. First, I have to say whoever changed the name from Big O to such an easily forgotten and pedantic business name made a business error in doing so. One could remember, see and find Big O everywhere. The name no longer matters as the ethics they always observed and honored, are no longer their guideline for dealing with consumers. Mainly, I am very much disappointed with Tire Pros on 4th. Our car was taken in for an Oil Change, a Tune Up, & an Alignment. Jim was informed we needed FOUR new Rotors and that the car couldn't be properly aligned until the rotors and brake pads were installed. I just took over the job of taking care of everything in my house. The money, the car, everything my husband used to be able to do. When he came home, he told me that above the cost of the parts, that the labor would be $700.00 to install the rotors and pads. I went on a mission to learn about MY CAR. I was after knowing what the parts were CALLED IN MECHANIC SPEAK, being I OWN THE CAR. I was already aware of their function. I called, as I needed to know whether the brake pads were dual or single piston caliper. The person who answered at Tire Pro said he didn't know the answer. He put me on hold & went to ask the mechanic who had looked at our car 3 days before, when he returned I was told the guy didn't recall. So....now I was on a mission. I want to KNOW what the parts are, what they're called, and why. I don't need anyone to tell me to bring it in and spend 6 times the value of the parts for labor. Instead of telling me that I could go look at them even with the hubcaps on and know which pad to order, he kept trying to sell me. I went to Youtube and learned how to figure it out. I ordered the parts from Napa on Glendale (great people) and a friend of mine who fixes cars for a living quoted me a price $380.00 less before he'd taken the back ones off to see that they were perfect. ( $160.00 for front and same again for the rear. ) So, this morning I bring him the 4 rotors and pads. He called me to say the rear rotors were IN PERFECT CONDITION. He showed me. I know what damaged ones look like. So, Napa took back the 2 extra and returned the extra cost to my C.Card. To sum it up, my husband is no longer able to function in any capacity. He would've no doubt taken the car in and allowed them to gouge us. And would never have known that not only did the person whom I called withhold the easily learned information, they all lied about what we needed. They believe that the towing service included with their "Warrantee" which I have through my Auto Insurance was a reasonable value for not only lying outright, but gouging us for way, way more money in parts and labor than we even needed. He never attempted to walk me through identifying the parts for my own satisfaction. "Don't worry, little ignorant lady, we will fix everything." He didn't actually say that, only inferred it. I drove the car up there & I began writing this. My mechanIc knocked on my door to tell me it was FINISHED just now, before I even had time to finish this review. Anyone reading this, please remember "Buyer Beware." I care not about Warrantees from liars and frauds. The entire job took a little more than an HOUR ! I saved HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS, and the humiliation of being charged for 2 Rotors Tire Pros would have likely not replaced. Being my newest mechanic ( he had just days before fixed my Daughter's Alternator in an hour ) he is also a friend, an ethical man who cares for his family by working hard, with honesty and integrity, if anything went wrong, he would fix it W/O a 5 page "Warrantee" that no one can even read. We won't be using Tire Pros ever again. read more

Dropped off our car for a wheel alignment. When we returned after the service, they told us that left control arm needs to be replaced. They gave us a quote but we decided to take the car to the dealer instead. Our dealer told us that all the control arm are in good condition and that what our car need is a WHEEL ALIGNMENT! We paid $290 for a service that wasn't done at all. We brought our car to a different shop for an alignment AGAIN! as the dealership wont do it because we have coilover installed and they only charged us $137. read more

Had a CV joint replaced last year that made it a block because I saw that they didn't drive it before returning it to me. I made it two blocks and heard noises. They said they got a bad part But if they'd driven it they would have found it themselves. Today my tire pressure lift came on so I went down for them to check it. The technician checked each tire but put a shiny 2 inch screw beneath my tire before standing up. I pointed it out and he tried to wave me off saying "oh that's no big deal"- so they allow screws in their tire shop?! I'm done - never again will I go near there. read more
