Less than 17,000 miles later, my front tires had cords showing on the inside, and the rear tires were nearly bald. These tires were rated for 40,000-50,000 miles and were completely destroyed in under half that time. This was caused by a bad alignment done by Mavis. Their own employees acknowledged the uneven wear and confirmed the alignment was clearly off. I was also told by both a front desk employee and a mechanic that I was "sold a sh*t tire that doesn't belong on a full-size truck," which is unbelievable to hear after paying for new tires from a professional shop. Despite acknowledging the issue, they refused to take responsibility without the store manager's approval. The store manager, Ryan, told me he would contact corporate and promised an update by the end of the week. He never called. I had to repeatedly follow up, only to be told there was "no answer yet." Before any resolution was reached, one of the failing front tires blew out while I was driving to work, leaving me stranded on the side of the road with no drivable vehicle and no way to earn income. As a result of the unsafe condition of these tires, my truck later slid off the road and ended up in a ditch, where I was stuck for over six hours and missed an entire day of work. At that point, this situation had gone far beyond inconvenience and became a serious safety issue. After all of this, corporate's solution was to offer 25% off another set of tires, meaning I'm expected to pay again after only getting about 43% of the tire life I paid for, and I would still have to pay for another alignment--despite them acknowledging the original alignment was bad. To make matters worse, Mavis tried to blame the failure on "lack of tire rotation" and claimed vehicles should be realigned every 3-6 months, which is completely unrealistic and clearly an excuse to avoid accountability. No missed rotation causes cords to show or tires to fail this catastrophically in under 17,000 miles. I gave this shop every opportunity to do the right thing. Instead, I was ignored, misled, and left with hundreds of dollars in losses and a vehicle I no longer felt safe driving. If you value your safety, your money, or a shop that stands behind its work, do not go to Mavis Discount Tire in Newark.

I would know about long term on a vehicle from them because they did a Job for me in 2015 on my 97 Camaro. This place is decent place to bring your vehicle if you need something fix short term but long term not worth it to ME. To others they are worth it but they don't restore cars really just fix them. I brought these guys my 97 Camaro back in 2015. Let me tell you what it WASN'T worth the price they charged me 6500-7k and or it felt like I was getting harassed by the owner about paying them. Normally you pay for a job when it's finished but he was eager to collect some before starting it and during before he finished the Camaro. I had to pay before they finished which felt like I was being scammed but I was in a tight pinch and had to get it done. After finally paying them in full they finished it up and said we will detail it up nice for you but the rushed they detail guy and I had wax all over the Camaro. Even the detail guy complained about being rushed. I even mentioned the green paint I could still see but they didn't fix it or nothing. I was super bummed about this but I was still happy to get my 97 Camaro back on the road and drive it. Mind you this 97 Camaro sat after it got "restored"from Vogels. Nothing wrong with it but all the imperfections they left, all the chipped and cracked paint I found and the green paint from the donor parts they used to fix it that you could still see in areas. The Camaro wasn't very professional done at all and the service I got from them especially from the owner himself was good and all till the demanded payment. Then it felt like a scam and it felt like I was being harassed. Now 10 years later I have to repay someone to fix all those paint chips, all the cracked panels and a lot more. So in my opinion it's not worth it because 10 years later and 6500 bucks wasted to repay another person. About the same or more to make it look brand new even better then show room quality they said just like Vogel's promised me but Vogels couldn't handle it. I am very disappointed with the service I received at Mini of Rochester (New York). I brought my…read more2003 Mini S JCW in to the shop because I was concerned that the engine might have overheated for a minute or so and I wanted them to check the radiator thermostat to see if it was working correctly. I also needed them to address a problem with the power door locks. They indicated that there was nothing wrong with the thermostat, but that the radiator fluid might have been compromised. Close to 2 months later, and over $4,500 poorer, I got my car back from the service station. They upsold me on a need to replace the oil pan gasket, which was the bulk of the charge. I didn't see any issue with oil leakage or loss to justify this, but went with their recommendations since they were the experts. They also damaged the oil pressure sensor during the repair and couldn't figure out how to fix it (we compromised on them installing an external oil pressure gauge, which I had to purchase). I now found out that they also damaged the wheel speed sensor (which per a repudiable outside shop showed signs of being removed and reinstalled with a pliers). This has resulted in the classic "Mini Trifecta", and has cost me an additional $400 to get repaired. I was afraid to bring my car back to the Mini Dealership for repair after the last mess they made. Now I know why my brother in law (who also drives a Mini) drives an additional 100 miles one way to get to Buffalo to have them work on his. As my Mini is starting to get old I was considering getting a new one. With this kind of local support I certainly can't justify that.

After several years with the our first Mini, we looked to acquire another Clubman, but the sales tactics used against us were overtly predatory, especially for someone that was already a customer. This included withholding information from us, like equity in our vehicle, until we signed an agreement and gave them a down payment for a new vehicle. They told us that they could inform us of the equity only when we came to pick up the vehicle in several weeks to several months. We asked several times for them to at least provide a range, and they refused. This pushed us to look elsewhere for a vehicle, and no other local dealers put us through that during the process. BMW of Rochester, Audi of Rochester, Ide Volkswagon, and others, were all wonderful to deal with and were very transparent about the entire process and the costs involved. We decided to not pursue another transaction with Mini of Rochester due to this experience. We did however turn the vehicle in to them, and when we did this, they agreed to cover the disposition cost, as a courtesy, as we were 15k miles under the lease agreement. It was our fault for not getting this in writing, as we've now received a bill from Mini Financial for the cost of the disposition, as the dealership never paid it. The dealership has now admitted that there was a miscommunication on their end and that they would no longer be covering the disposition costs. So we are left footing the bill due to their mix-up, which is inappropriate at best. Our experience with multiple salespersons, managers, and customer service representatives at Mini of Rochester have all exhibited a complete lack of care for their customers. If you're looking for a Mini in the WNY area, you'd do yourself a favor by heading to Mini of Buffalo instead.
