Terrible Experience - Complete Waste of Time I made an appointment at Dunn Tire for a noon alignment on my truck. I was told it would take about one hour. After three hours, they told me they were just pulling the truck in and it would be ready in another hour. I came back an hour later--four hours after my scheduled appointment--and the truck still hadn't even been touched. To make things worse, the staff gave me attitude instead of an apology or any real explanation. I rely on my truck to work and earn a living, and they completely wasted my day. Absolutely no respect for my time or business. I strongly suggest not trusting this place. If they can't honor a simple scheduled appointment or communicate honestly, I wouldn't trust them with anything else. read more

I highly recommend this location. My family has been customers for many years and this location has serviced all of our cars. Over Thanksgiving weekend I realized my nys inspection is expiring at the end of the month. I quickly called and they were able to schedule me in this week. Upon arriving to my appointment though a few of the staff were huddled in front talking but never greeted me. It wasnt until a separate guy at the register called me over and asked how he could help me. He was super friendly and i waited for my vehicle for about 30-35 minutes. read more

Had a 4pm appointment to change 4 snow tires on rims, maybe a 15 min. job. Took 2 hours and i asked why I was told they put them on wrong. They are directional but was told 3 of the 4 was installed in the wrong direction, this is impossible?? An appointment means nothing there be prepared to spend a lot of time getting check in, checked out and waiting for your car to be completed. I will never go there again for anything. read more

Went there to get an inspection done on a 2021 Ford 150 with 30000 miles on it. Gentleman goes out to check the vehicle (and naturally to give the tires a close inspection) before taking it in for the State inspection. Advises that the front tires had outside wear to the second layer but the tread was fine. I asked for a tire rotation but he stated they were too busy with that. Offered to sell me two new tires and I declined. He stated they would take it back for the inspection. After waiting for just over an hour, they called me up and said I was all set. The guy checking me out quietly states my truck failed because of the front tires and then started telling me about Ford recalls on the truck. When I question the failed inspection the guy tells me that those tires are an automatic failure! I was never advised of that at any point and asked why I sat there for an hour while they completed the inspection! I took my truck to a mechanic who checked it out and just smiled. He stated no problem doing my inspection and will do the tire rotation. This was a completely unprofessional encounter with Dunn tire and their need to upsell tires was very frustrating on a two year old vehicle.I would have certainly gone there next year to have them replaced but obviously won't be going back..... read more

Wife took her car in for tire rotation and check two tires that had been losing air lately. She got talked into a power steering flush for $89 I was so pissed that she fell for their bullshit story, it's a 2010 with 53k miles, ABSOLUTELY NO NEED WHATSOEVER for such a unnecessary service. Good morning, I am in the hospital writing this YELP to document my wife's experience at Dunn's Camillus, NY with Service Tech Scott. I have been a long time customer of Dunn's Tires with both personal and business vehicles for years. It is true, I have not been to Dunn's in four years because I bought a new vehicle, which had new tires and luckily no tire problems. I also have an 07 Honda and have a set of Summer tires on rims and Winter tires on rims...{I change the tires over each season myself}. Today, my wife found one of the Winter tires had a slow leak. I told her to take it to Dunn's because of past experience and I am in the hospital. She went inside at 11:10 AM and Scott told her he could not check the tire until late today.....4:30 PM +. He then "looked her up" and said, "you haven't been in the store in four years so I have "other" customers ahead of you and likely can't get to your car until sometime tomorrow unless you leave it for the day....[for a simple slow leak fix]. My wife called me and while on the phone I heard Scott twice say, "you haven't been in the store in four years....obviously, you take the car someplace else for repairs"....... Bottom line, I told her to leave and go to another competitor up the road. I think it is WRONG that Scott basically refused / punished my wife because we had not been in the store in four years....its not a membership club....its a tire repair and auto repair shop. We were punished for me changing over my tires each year and doing my own oil changes and minor vehicle repairs. I assure you of this, I currently own three vehicles and down the road they may need repairs, I WILL NOT being any of them to Dunn's because of their elitist behavior. Must be Scott is so confident in his job that he doesn't need the work and would rather turn folks away in his little power play... Called me stating that I had to replace all of my lug nuts. When I told them that I would not replace them even at 50% off and stated that I just had the brakes replaced on the car the day before and the person there had no problem at all getting my lug nuts on or off my vehicle they then stated that they would not do the work on my vehicle unless I replaced my lug nuts. When I again refused to replace them and said I have never replaced lug nuts ever on any of my vehicles in the past they then said that they would put my old tires back on and my old lug nuts and back the car out of the garage and refuse to do the work. If they could get the lug nuts back on to get my car out of the garage then obviously the lug nuts did not have to be replaced and obviously they just wanted an excuse to refuse to do the service. I ended up taking my car to another business who had no problem with getting my lug nuts on or off and were able to change my tires without any issues using the lug nuts that were on my vehicle. read more

Very disappointed that my 100k mile tire warranty (worn out after 50k) was thrown under the bus because Dunn assumed my 7500 mile tire rotation clause in the warranty wasn't fulfilled -they never called Hankook or asked for my receipts, and why, according to Hankook- just because it wasn't done by them(?), even though they had no proof it wasn't done elsewhere. #hankookusa tire says that the tire rotation stipulation is listed on the bottom of the tire receipt and there was no such listing... I purchased all four tires from Dunn, in another city. I had a slow leak in one tire so obviously I went to Dunn. They were polite, but it was VERY OBVIOUS they DID NOT WANT MY BUSINESS. The gentleman at the desk told me that it would be at least three hours before they could even look at it. I suggested making an appointment, and he said it didn't matter, still at least a three hour wait. I am new to town, and had no one to pick me up. It is very stressful to be on your own and think you may be stranded with a flat tire in a strange city. I am almost 60 years old. I left Dunn literally shocked they almost made it impossible for me to do business with them. I went to Munro, and they looked at it right away, and fixed it for no charge. Went there on a recommendation bought 4 tires had them installed and they screwed up my 4 wheel drive system it worked when I dropped it off to them in the morning and didn't when I picked it up in the afternoon. Great for tires given their out-the-door price includes flat fixes and tire rotations for the life of the tires purchased. But be careful of their mechanical recommendations. Tried to sell me a brake job when my independent mechanic said I still had thousands of miles left on them. And they quite often have long wait times to get stay-with service appointments, especially around seasonal tire swap times. read more

Been a customer for 6 years and was treated horribly this morning when I brought my car in for seasonal tire change. I have had my tires in storage with them for many years and continue to have changeovers every year. This past summer I spoke with a representative in the store and we decided I should keep my All-Seasons in storage and burn through the winter tires and then just buy new winter tires come fall. I did that and thought I was being charged for storage on my all season tires. Come spring (today) I go to put my All-season tires on and they inform me that my basically brand new tires were THROWN OUT without any warning or an opportunity to continue storage!! I can't believe this is how loyal customers are treated. I am disgusted Update : John from Dunn Customer Service reached out to me 30 minutes after I posted my review and contacted them with a solution. He informed me there was a communication breakdown and took care of the situation in a manner I would except from Dunn. They have been nothing but exceptional in the past and I was shocked at what happened this morning. I appreciate them resolving the manner. As a company they usually do go above and beyond to make sure customers are happy. read more

A really short but unbelievably disappointing experience. My wife, daughter and I exasperatedly walked in for four new all season tires. We had left Mr. Tire frustrated with waiting and coming up empty on options there. At this point we were willing to pay a decent price for tires. Safety first. Anyway, we were told by one of the front end guys to wait while someone could get to us. Totally fine. After about fifteen minutes and watching two of the front end guys just typing on their computers, the original guy finally looked up and agitatedly asked, "what do you need?" My wife, who is much sweeter and more polite than I am, said she needed four new all season tires. The guy simply replied, "and when did you want this done?" She said that day, but we could leave the car overnight and get it the following day. He just shook his head no and said "no way." That was literally it. No, what kind of tires, can we reschedule, nothing. I chuckled and said "that's all you have to say? We're ready to spend $1000 or more and you can't even try to work something out?" He shrugged his shoulders and that was it. We ended up going back to Auburn and paid about that much someplace else. Something about his smugness rubbed us the wrong way. We won't go back. read more

I had a really great experience with the people at Dunn the other day. They didn't have the tires I needed and I explained how my son was in the NICU and I was on a really tight budget. The assistant manager (I don't remember his name) and Tyree offered a number of suggestions and alternatives to examine, including calling other locations and ordering tires from another location. I haven't yet decided on what to do, however the folks at Dunn were so kind and generous with their time. If I don't end up buying tires with them, I most certainly will go back for other services. One star for poor customer service. Tires bought here are supposed to have lifetime tire rotations but then when performing tire rotations shop takes over 1 hour to perform the rotation if walking in. During my last visit, I had a disagreement with the services performed and requested not to be charged. I received the manager as rude and condescending. This manager also threatened that they could put a lean on my car if I refused to pay. In the end, I was not charged but I no longer desire to do business with this company. read more

The first time I was here the service was excellent. That was September 2017 and I was in the market for 4 snow tires. The second time I came the service was ok. That was in April 2018 and I was switching back to summer tires. While I was there I also got front brakes. Three weeks ago I called to make an appointment to get the rear brakes done and have my snow tires put on. They told me they were very busy. Today was the first day that both of our schedules worked for an appointment. In the meantime my brother purchased halogen headlight bulbs for my car. I called last week and asked if they could put them in during my appointment and they agreed. When I arrived early for my appointment today. I mentioned the bulbs again and nothing was said. I also asked them to evaluate my all season tires to see if I should get rid of them now or store them if I could get another year out of them. They told me they should be replaced. I agreed to pay the fee to dispose of them. Near the end of our discussion the service writer asked me if I had been there before. It made me angry because I had told that they had my tires because I had stored the tires with them. Obviously I had been here before. About an hour later a technician comes out to tell me I need rear brakes. I knew I needed the brakes and had requested them. Then he told me I needed a battery. I was aware that my battery was marginal so I agreed to that. They had a couple of other small services they wanted to do but I declined. Then I asked about the headlight bulbs. The technician told me that they could only install items I purchased there. What a slap in the face. I had called the week before and was told differently. I guess they were afraid I would cancel my appointment so they lied to me. The frosting on the cake occurred when I was signing everything on the receipt after my credit card had been charged. I discovered that they charged me for both disposal and storage for my all season tires. When I discovered it, the clerk checking me out got quite the attitude. I won't be back next year when I need to purchase 4 new tires for the summer. I hope I can find somebody who is up front with me and appreciates my business. . read more

I have taken the last 5 vehicles I've had to Dunn for either summer or snow tires and the service has always been great. The staff is knowledgable, committed and passionate about their job. They are often busy, but so are all places with a known reputation for good service. I'm a nervous guy with one of my cars due to its ultra rare status. When these guys have it in to do rotations, alignment, mounting/balancing tires or whatever, they treat it with the utmost respect. Purchasing tires from Dunn is cost effective too. While tires may be less expensive to buy online from tirerack.com, once you figure in the cost of rotations, mounting/balancing and shipping to/from for purchase and road hazard, tirerack.com ends up costing you more money! read more

Do not bring your vehicle to Dunn Tire. They are liars and incompetent. I blew a tire and brought my truck in on the spare. They put on a new tire and put the spare back on. As I was driving home I felt like I hit a huge pothole - I noticed afterwards that the steel bracket for wiring harness for the trailer was destroyed and the spare tire was gone - my spare tire fell off on the way home. I contacted them, they had me come in. I waited about two hours and told me they ordered the part to fix it and would look into the spare. I waited and called back a week and a half later and they said they'd call back and didn't. I called back again and finally spoke to the service manager (Jeremy) who said they would take care of everything and apologized, come in on Monday. I brought the truck in on Monday and after two hours I asked what was going on, its about a 30 minute fix. They said they needed to order the wiring harness and spare tire (the one they said they ordered it two weeks before?), but stuff happens so I said ok I would drop it off Sunday the following week. I asked them to do some suspension work as well. I didn't hear from them so I called two days later and they told me they wouldn't do the work because they won't use customer supplied parts (I brought coils and struts for them to put on), I guess it was a miscommunication - I'm not sure why they didn't contact me Monday and tell me this but I said whatever, I just want to be done with this, I'll be there in an hour. I went to pick the truck up and there's the wiring harness, and no spare tire. I said, there's no spare tire. The guy at the desk says, what spare tire? I said, the one that the service manager said you'd replace? He said ohhh yea(apparently he needed a reminder?), we were only going to replace it if you did suspension work with us (Apparently thats what, "Don't worry, we're going to take care of everything" means). He also said we're not replacing it because you didn't lose your tire here, it was somewhere else. Apparently loyal customers with a track record of buying all their tires and spouses tires at their shop just throw their spare tire in the trash, take a sledge hammer to the bottom of their truck and argue for a new spare for a month and waste days of their lives dealing with it. (Yes if I had worked the whole time I spent dealing with them I could have bought a whole set of tires and rims and had money left over, but I wanted them to make it right - it's insane that happened). So apparently if they don't mount your spare correctly and it falls off driving home, they will replace it if you have them do suspension work as well. However they will replace your $29 trailer harness for free! So after going to Dunn 3 times and leaving my truck for 2 days, about 8 hours of waiting and phone calls, the inconvenience of not having a vehicle for multiple days, I have a new trailer wiring harness, no spare tire, and enough common sense to never go back and make sure everyone I know doesn't go there either. Hopefully no one was injured or killed by my spare tire rolling down a major road. read more
