I can't say enough great things about this incredible local business!! I had a lot of brake work done at John's Auto Care about five months ago. Had some issues with the front brake pads, and it took me a few months to get back there with my hectic schedule. When I stopped in there about 10 days ago, I met with one of the owners (and family members) Mark. He is a super nice dude! Very knowledgeable about all things automotive and I had a nice conversation with him and got to know him. He took the time out of his busy day to get to know me too! They really care about their customers there!! I explained my situation with the brake pads and that the brake service light was staying on after startup. Mark took a look at my vehicle, pulled a wheel, tried to reset the service indicator (which was a no go) and said that they would make things right, no matter what it took. Mark said they would replace the original brake pads they had installed with a high performance hybrid ceramic pad which would eliminate the issue I was having, and replace the faulty brake wear sensor which was likely causing the service light to come on - all at no cost to me!! He also said that I could use a loaner car for the day for my inconvenience. Wow!! My car was in for the service work today as it took a few days to get the parts in. Dropped it off this morning, had another really nice conversation with Mark (he remembered who I was, even though I was a first time customer!!), and he re-explained the work to be done. I also picked up the loaner vehicle, which made my day much easier. Mark called me this afternoon and reviewed the work that had been completed. While I had the car in the shop today, I had also requested that they spin balance the wheels since I was not happy with the job Costco had done a month ago when I got new tires. Amazingly, they had the time to do that even though it was a last minute request. Mark explained all of the work that had been done on the wheels/tires, which involved adding some wheel weights and re-mounting one of the tires correctly. When I picked up my car an hour ago, I was greeted by one of the service advisors (sorry I didn't catch her name!) and they knew exactly who I was and which vehicle I was picking up. When I drove the car home, I was super thrilled with the results!! The brake issue was fixed, I had better brake pedal feel with the new pads, the new brake wear sensor allowed the service light to be reset (woo hoo!), and the vibration from the poorly balanced wheels was 100% fixed. No more weird (and annoying) vibrations at highway speed! Mark (and everyone else at John's Auto Care), you've earned my future business, and I know that you'll always take awesome care of my BMW X5!! Thanks again, guys!! read more

I can't say enough good things about this company. Where to begin, I had a rattling noise under the car which turned out to be one of the heat shields, first I called the dealer and they wanted $300+ and they were booked for 2 weeks. I was afraid to drive it and not get it look at. So I called John's Auto, and not only were they able to see me the same day, but they asked what time I would like to bring it in, letting me choose the appointment was a nice touch. The staff was very friendly, they have a comfortable waiting room and provide coffee, and soduku books. They greet their customers by name. Now lets talk about the repair itself, the technician was very nice, explained everything clearly, and offered alternative solutions, ex plained what the part did, and what was and not necessary to be done, re-ensured me it was safe to drive, and all it needed was a couple of bolts, I only had to pay about $20 for the labor and wasn't even charged for the bolts. This was very reasonable considering the effort that was put in. I'm very impressed with the way this place is run. This is how a business should operate, putting the customers first. This will be my shop of choice from now on. read more

I want to give a huge thank you to John's Auto Care on Milton Ave., in Solvay! For the past year, they have been servicing my vehicle, when others could not figure out what was causing my constant concerns. They have always gone above and beyond to find the problem and address it. The mechanics come out and talk to you, explain their findings and recommendations, or they call you if you are not in the waiting area. The owner, John, himself has called me also. They have provided a much needed assurance that I can trust them to do the best they can to resolve issues and to make sure I understand the "how and why" of what needs to be done. And, they sent me a hand signed thank you note! Yesterday, when I called because my air conditioning had stopped and was blowing hot air, they were booking into next week, but found a time to get me in today to at least get me a diagnosis! Bill and the crew did a super job that brought life back to my "old girl" 35 Chevy with an early 70's 350 SBC. After a compression test indicated very good results, Bill and I agreed some updates were in order. A new carburetor and a new correct intake manifold installed as well as new engine base pan and transmission pan. Engine dress up items such as valve covers etc. Exhaust headers were sand blasted and ceramic coated. Leaking fuel and transmission lines replaced, the list goes on. Before reassembly, they cleaned and painted the block Chevy orange to complete the "old girl's" make over. No more keeping the hood closed when we're out on the town. read more

I found the prices to be very fair. I spoke with three different people in three different departments and all were pleasant and helpful. (Karen, Mark, and Mike) Couldn't have been nicer. I've been coming here for over a year with both my 2010 Prius and my 1990 Miata. I am very wary of new mechanics, but I'm so happy I started coming here. They're up front with costs and potential upcoming maintenances. This is definitely a place I can trust not to bilk money from me on frivolous work. Rest assured, these folks really care.
