My 90-year-old mother called ahead ordered tires for her car. They tried to sell her on an upgrade. She said no thank you and ordered the less $$ ones at $400. She drove in through snowy conditions for her appointment, sat there for an hour only for these idiots to tell her they did not order the correct tires and the only ones they had were the ones they tried to upgrade her to in the first place, for twice as much at $800. These people are simply trying to take advantage of an old person which is disgusting. I know Dunn has been around for a long time, but with stunts like this I hope they are not around for much longer. Despicable. read more

Have been going to Dunn periodically for years since they sponsored our organization. Trusted them. Last week my wife went in with a slow leak and TPMS light on. I came home to her distressed because we had to get new tires. Plus we needed TPS sensors ($300). Leak not fixed. I measured the tires at really close to 5/32" - ready for tires but not urgent. I then correctly inflated the tire and drove it, which reset the TPMS warning. I spoke with the manager. He told me that anything less than 5/32" was company policy not to fix. About the TPMS he couldn't say anything. I see this as a blatant attempt to take advantage. read more

I had an appointment and stayed while I had 4 new tire installed. As a woman, it is uncomfortable to go to places where auto work is done. I was very impressed with Dunn Tire here in Webster. The gentleman who took my information was honest and thankfully didn't try to up sell me. I know this because I had done my research and was well aware of what I should encounter. I called Dunn Tire and inquired about the cost of having tires put on. I informed them I was bringing my own new tires to the party and they said it would be 14.99 per tire over the phone. I just had them put on and I go to collect the car and to my surprise they charged me 26.98 per tire to have them installed thereby jacking the price by a hair short of 50$. I'm very disappointed in this and am being told it is the "non Dunn Tire Price". This should have been told to me when I inquired originally or at the very least when I dropped the car off. This is classic bait and switch aa I definitely will not be going back there for service in the future. Update : Harry from Dunn Tire corporate followed up with me and apparently listened to the call when I set up the appointment and agreed that I was quoted the 14.99 price. I was told they'd call me once they heard from the warehouse. I had an *appointment* to have my snow tires put on at 4 o'clock. At 5 o'clock my car was still sitting outside in the parking lot & hadn't been touched. Not a word from a soul. Like you're chopped liver. Grossly understaffed. Each year the place goes downhill another notch. Or two. This store is a revolving door of new employees being hired and then leaving... Won't honor warranties on tires. Have to have proof of a rotation done every 5,000 miles - What if I have done it myself? At the end of the day all 4 tires had the same amount of wear. 60,000 mile tires lasted 35,000 miles. The manager acted like the money was coming out of his pocket. In over their head. I arrived for my scheduled appointment and it took 25 minutes to get checked in. The service and sales staff were overwhelmed the phone rang constantly and there was usually a phone call right behind it. After checking in for the tire rotation I waited another 90 minutes before I left. Two hours for a tire rotation is inexcusable other than pointing out the obvious. I will never go to Dunn Tire again. They used to be good, but this is the second time they have pulled a bait and switch routine more than doubling the price. Then, after 25min, they refused to put 2 tires on a 4WD vehicle. They insisted on 4 even though it's a Hyundai Tucson which has only been put into 4WD once since my daughter bought it. I had a mixed experience at Dunn Tire in April. Some issues with techs and some issues with counter crew. Very slow service. I was contacted by Dunn corporate after posting my detailed review. They listened to my complaints and agreed with my assessment. Went out of their way to try to keep me as a customer. I went back in June for a set of tires for my truck. They had the best price I could find. This experience was much better. I am very happy with the tires and the service was fast. A few recommendations based upon my experience: 1. Don't make 8am appointments...very busy. Mid afternoon is much better. 2. Know what you want and ask for it. If you don't want the extra stuff like alignments, say so up front. 3. It pays to watch the work being done. I had to remind the techs of special lug nuts. Counter crew hadn't communicated well to the techs. No issues on my second visit, two techs shared the job and expedited the whole thing. 4. If you have an issue, corporate will listen and try to make it right. I would recommend them and will continue to do business there. read more

I have been taking our cars to the Webster NY Location for a few years, with various degrees of satisfaction. (and historically not great customer service on behalf of the management there). BUT! I recently had an issue with a damaged tire that needed replacement under the premier replacement plan and the new (although I am not sure how long he has actually been there but it was the first time I dealt with him) manager Dave was great. He definitely knows what a valued customer is and how to treat one, even going beyond the regular shop standards to find a satisfactory outcome for me. After two years of doing business with Dunn Tire I am done. When I bought my first set of tires from these guys they were trying to get me to have a front end alignment every 6000 miles when I had the tires rotated. I straightened that out with them and things were fine up until my last tire rotation about three weeks ago. As usual, I had my tires rotated and this time I was told that I needed to have new front struts put on the car and was handed a estimate for over $500.00. There was no way that I was going to pay over $400.00 for parts and so I ordered my own parts on line for about $170.00 and I called my mechanic to have the struts installed. Imagine my surprise when my mechanic wants to know why I decided to have front struts put in when there was nothing wrong with the ones that I had on vehicle in the first place? My guy at Sofia collision said there were no issues with the ones that were on the vehicle except for maybe a little rust on the ends. I called the manager at this Dunn tire and was drilled by him as to why I had the struts put on if there was nothing wrong with them? I am not going around in circles with these guys now or any other time. Dunn Tire started this issue and now I am finishing it. There are plenty of other places in my hood to buy tires and to find a reputable place that won't be trying to have you replace parts on your car that don't need to be replaced. I would not recommend Dunn Tire to anyone and I give them 1 very road worn Yelp star. read more

I took my vehicle in for a wheel noise that would happen when turning at a high speed. I called in the morning and they told me to bring it right in. I suspected it was a front wheel bearing. While I was waiting in the pleasant waiting room, connected to free and very fast WIFI and enjoying some decent coffee, I called around and got prices on wheel bearing replacement. (If you have a Time Warner ID and password, bring it. You'll get better WIFI. I'm starting to see this type of connection in more places.) A mechanic took the truck for a ride. Wouldn't you know it, he diagnosed a front wheel bearing. The service desk person, Paul, quoted me a price that was right in line with the prices I got while waiting. I gave the go ahead for the repair, which they could begin immediately. So that I wouldn't have to wait around, they offered to drive me home. I took them up on it and picked my truck up in the afternoon. Clearly they went the extra mile with the ride home. I've had other good experiences here before, just haven't written about them. read more

Made an appointment, had to wait for 15 minutes, price was higher in person than on their website, took 4 hours instead of 2 for a 4 tire replacement on a new (1 to 2 year old) car, charged extra for minimal "misalignment", total bill was not worth the wait, quality of tire or service. Dunn tires were my go to for a couple of years. I had an issue with one of tires and it took 3 visits for the issue to be resolved. Some of the crew are very rude. On my last visit the initial guy I spoke to was very rude and condesending but luckily the guy that checked me out was super helpful and informative. We purchased four General Altimax RT43 T rating tires today. The on-line price was $120.99 per tire with the total as $483.96. Our invoice from the store was $140.99 per tire with the total as 563.96. We also got an alignment and NYS Inspection. Everything else went fine, but why not charged the on-line price!? Bought new tires on 01/17/2020. -- My 2017 Outback was way overdue for a new set of all-season tires. Did some looking around online and found one that fit my needs. I'm retired and don't drive as much as I used to....and saw that Dunn sold them. Ken was very courteous and helpful. He went online to check for my size, found nothing in my size for the brand I had seen online. He allowed me to watch along with him to check on different tires and reviews for a tire that would match my needs. He found one that perfectly met my requirements - Vredestein Quatrac 5..... dropped the car off next day and was surprised when they called and said the car was ready a little over an hour later(that included a wheel alignment I requested). These tires were very highly rated, my wife and I couldn't be happier, the ride is now really smooth, corners very well, quieter and outstanding braking on wet, snowy or dry conditions. Enjoyed doing business with with their team...friendly, polite and found the perfect tires for us at a price that was $40 lower per tire(including mounting, balancing and disposing of the old tires.) Excellent customer service because of excellent Management!If you need trustworthy tire installation and balancing/rotations this is the place to go.Only had to purchase tires once (usually have brand new cars),but on my first tire balancing service, tires failed to balance.Manager came out and told me that the tires were defective (about 6000 miles since purchase) and couldn't be balanced.Then stated that I can get a new set since it is warrantied!Now let me tell you something.If you have any experience with repair shops and tire places-chances of this happening are slim to none!Honesty goes a long way with me and they have earned my trust!Keep up the good work! read more
