If I could give zero stars I would...listen to this experience...truly unbelievable...but 100%…read moretrue. I want to share our experience at Mavis Discount Tire so others are aware. My husband brought our car in for two front tires. We paid $330 and received a receipt claiming the tires had been replaced. This is what took place:: * Employee took our car for over an hour without permission. The manager at the shop had no idea where our vehicle was and he called the police assuming it had been stolen. This is after he said our car was "all set" and my husband paid for the work. * the employee returned to the shop with our car (about the same time the police arrived), saying he had taken it for a test drive. This is completely BS because he was gone for more than an hour and racked up ~30 miles on the odometer. - the employee also smoked in the vehicle which left an odor of smoke and ashes on the dashboard. (We are not smokers and our vehicle has never been smoked in). - when my husband got home with our vehicle and parked it, he realized that the tires on the car were still our old tires. They never even c did the work we paid for!! * And...the icing on the cake...the Receipt my husband got after paying for the work that was never done, listed our odometer reading as 28,000 miles, while the car actually has 57,000+ miles! So...if we had actually gotten the new tires, the tire warranty of 65,000 miles would look to have 30,000 miles already on it when we left the parking lot! We seriously could not have made up an experience as bad as this! We ultimately received a full refund for what we paid but we highly advise against going to this establishment or any Mavis in the area as the REGIONAL manager did not seem to take this matter seriously. In fact, he told us the employee that took our vehicle for a 30 mile joyride was "reprimanded " but not fired.

They rotated my winter tires instead. People make mistakes, so when I finally had some time, I brought the car back. I agreed to come back and get the car when they called. The guy who waited on me said they were busy, even though there was only one car in the garage. I assumed it would be a few hours, so I took a walk and went grocery shopping. Two hours later my car was still sitting untouched in the parking lot. The garage was empty. Two staff members were out back admiring someone's sports car, and the third was sitting on his phone inside. I asked for my fob, and they initially couldn't find it. The woman on shift got a little snarky, and insisted I didn't give it to them. A few minutes later they found it and I left. It appears that they forgot about me this time. That was my last time at Mavis. My experience has been nothing but a frustrating waste of time. I expect I'll get the same copy/paste response everyone below has gotten asking me to call. No thank you.

Already had it at another 2 shops, both stated that was the only issue they saw that would throw the cat code. So take it to the muffler shop after setting up an appointment 4 days prior because the other shops wont/cant cut rusted bolts. I left it the night before with what i wanted done on the early bird fill out form. Get a call at 4pm next day telling me to cut 2 bolts off and change the gasket its gonna be $300 and that my resonator is magically shot and my flex pipe is shredded. both other shops i was under my vehicle and not a single thing wrong with the exhaust which i had told both shops to check because of the cat code popping up and disappearing. when i pick up the car the service writer looks at me and asks if i had already been under the vehicle because what i asked to have repaired was very specific. I said yes and that is why i know they was lying about the other stuff needing to be repaired. he did not even respond, I paid for my inspection and plate light bulb and left. :Update: Spoke to Tim, Apparently I have given attitude to the service writer and was told to go find another shop. I attached the response from Tim and apparently he watched video of every time I have come in and has seen I have given attitude to his service writers. So the $15,000+ I have spent there with no issues in the past three years on 5 different vehicles. Apparently Every time I have given attitude. This last time I was in, your right I gave the writer attitude after he lied about repairs to my exhaust needing to be done over the phone. That weren't part of an inspection so I wouldn't fail on those as he said. But too cut 2 rusted bolts and replace a gasket on a pipe near the car is at least $300. Ok check your video of what he said when he called me, Tim. And listen to what he said. Because I only had attitude after he said resonator was shot and flex pipe is shredded. And I have been under the vehicle 2 times before bringing it to you. And nothing wrong with the exhaust except the other shops couldn't cut rusted bolts off.

DANGEROUS AND NEGLIGENT WORK - DO NOT BRING YOUR FAMILY'S CAR HERE…read more I had brake replacement, tire service, and wheel alignment performed at this Monro location in December 2025. Shortly after, my wife and young child were driving to Albany in a winter storm when the brakes started making a loud banging noise. She was forced to drive in fear for an extended period before finding another Monro location, where a technician discovered one brake caliper bolt was MISSING ENTIRELY and a second was dangerously loose. My wife and child could have been killed. I contacted Fairport manager Kevin, who was completely nonchalant and actually said "the advantage of Monro is you can stop at their other locations." He eventually offered a partial refund -- which was never paid -- then became completely unreachable. I filed a BBB complaint (Case #24733045). In their formal response, Monro corporate ADMITTED the caliper bolt was not properly secured and acknowledged filing an insurance claim for rim damage caused by their negligence. Despite this admission, they are refusing a full refund. The tire pressure light is also still on after their tire service, and the rim was scratched. This is a documented safety failure that endangered my family. I took time off of work to make this appt just to find out that they don't have the equipment to service my 2019 Equinox because it's too new! Why was I even able to make an appt online if that is the case??? The manager at the store said the call center doesn't know anything about cars so they wouldn't know to ask. I voiced my frustration to her about taking time off to have this appt and not being asked upfront what the refrigerant code for my car was ridiculous! She said, "well I am telling you now! When I called another garage in Fairport, the first thing they asked me was to check the number tag under the hood to make sure they could service my car! I have mixed opinions about this Goodyear franchise. I came here regularly years ago because I…read morefound the staff to be honest and trustworthy. I stopped coming for a while, but only because I was getting free maintenance with Dorschel during my lease. I finally returned today. To my great disappointment, the staff suggested lots of unnecessary work which would have made my visit significantly more expensive. I reviewed the invoice with the receptionist line-by-line, crossing out things which he himself admitted were not essential: duct cleaning, a tire warranty, an expensive alignment plan which would have allowed me to get more alignments in the future, and more. I'm not an economist, but I know that these plans and warranties are unlikely to save me money in the long run. If they were, Goodyear wouldn't be selling them. If peace if mind is what you're after, sure. But that's a different story. When all was said and done, I had saved about $500 by removing these unsolicited extras. That's not a small chunk of change. I left disappointed, wondering how else they screwed me over. After reviewing the invoice with another person, it became clear that I also overpaid for alignment and the cabin filter. They charged me $95 for alignment and $50 for the cabin filter, including $10 of cabin filter labor. I have to give the receptionist credit for not fighting me on these adjustments. He even admitted that some of the work was non-essential. I can even understand that businesses are struggling right now, but that's no excuse to screw customers. Customers are struggling, too. It's disappointing to know that I would have spent an extra $500 for little to no benefit benefit had I not read the invoice carefully. I'm sorry to say that I don't think I'll be back. All of that being said, the work they do is very good, as far as I can tell, the staff is knowledgeable and professional, and the waiting room is clean, with free water and decent WiFi. They didn't poke me in the eye. My car didn't explode. So 2 stars it is.
