Shortly after, my wife and young child were driving to Albany in a winter storm when the brakes started making a loud banging noise. She was forced to drive in fear for an extended period before finding another Monro location, where a technician discovered one brake caliper bolt was MISSING ENTIRELY and a second was dangerously loose. My wife and child could have been killed. I contacted Fairport manager Kevin, who was completely nonchalant and actually said "the advantage of Monro is you can stop at their other locations." He eventually offered a partial refund -- which was never paid -- then became completely unreachable. I filed a BBB complaint (Case #24733045). In their formal response, Monro corporate ADMITTED the caliper bolt was not properly secured and acknowledged filing an insurance claim for rim damage caused by their negligence. Despite this admission, they are refusing a full refund. The tire pressure light is also still on after their tire service, and the rim was scratched. This is a documented safety failure that endangered my family. I have an all wheel drive car and they didn't try to oversell me multiple tires (although it's probably recommended to change tires in pairs). But I told them I was planning to sell the car soon and they said it was reasonable to just change only one tire. Employees were friendly and cost was reasonable (-under $200) for a single tire. A combination of rust and damage from backing into my garbage bin lid, caused clamps to break off and resulted in my exhaust dropping and dragging on the ground. My car sounded terrible. Pulling into and out of daycare was a bit embarrassing. I was desperate to find an auto shop and stumbled on Rytek. I was amazed that they offered to look at my car the same day, but I opted to bring it in the following day (Friday). Jim communicated promptly and effectively via text. He took pictures of the car and highlighted the issues. They are closed on the weekend but somehow managed to order the parts and do the repair in time for me to pick it up Monday afternoon. They also offered a loaner car if my repair took longer. Overall, I had an A+ experience with Jim at Rytek and wouldn't hesitate to return. I can't comment about their pricing. They seem on par with repair cost googled online. However their ability to fit me in right away made the decision easy. Also I was pleasantly surprised to find a handwritten thank you card with a $5 Wegmans gift card recently. What a thoughtful / nice little touch.

Dishonest, Incompetent, and Costly Rip-Off…read more I took my car to this shop for service and regret it every single day. They are a textbook example of shady sales tactics combined with very poor mechanical work. They billed me for 5 hours of labor on a job that took only 3 hours. They completely failed to perform the wheel alignment properly after performing maintenance that required an alignment, yet they charged me for an alignment. Another mechanic later confirmed the front was way off and they hadn't touched the rear! When I asked them to correct it (since they had promised a follow-up realignment with the initial service), they made up an excuse that the alignment needed time to "settle" and refused to fix it. One month later, the toe on my front wheels was so far off that it completely destroyed my tires! I had to spend $1,300 on a new set of tires plus a proper alignment at a competent shop (I should have gone to in the first place) To top it off, they charged a 500% markup on parts -- five times what they should cost. This place overcharges, underperforms, and leaves customers with expensive damage. Avoid them at all costs. They wasted my time, my money, and damaged my vehicle. Never again.

I left the Monro inspection, took the long drive to BMW dealership the following week and it passed the inspection no problem.

They replaced the oval resonator with a cheap round one that doesn't fit properly and rubs on the heat shield under the gas tank. Also, where the new resonator attaches to the pipe in the front and rear, they attempted to weld the connections. They could not make a good weld so they applied an exhaust cement that is now falling off and exhaust is leaking. Their work cannot be trusted. Photos are attached.
