Pat the manager is rude, tries to oversell and doesn't honor appointments. You get more knowledgeable help at Walmart.

DANGEROUS AND NEGLIGENT WORK - DO NOT BRING YOUR FAMILY'S CAR HERE…read more I had brake replacement, tire service, and wheel alignment performed at this Monro location in December 2025. Shortly after, my wife and young child were driving to Albany in a winter storm when the brakes started making a loud banging noise. She was forced to drive in fear for an extended period before finding another Monro location, where a technician discovered one brake caliper bolt was MISSING ENTIRELY and a second was dangerously loose. My wife and child could have been killed. I contacted Fairport manager Kevin, who was completely nonchalant and actually said "the advantage of Monro is you can stop at their other locations." He eventually offered a partial refund -- which was never paid -- then became completely unreachable. I filed a BBB complaint (Case #24733045). In their formal response, Monro corporate ADMITTED the caliper bolt was not properly secured and acknowledged filing an insurance claim for rim damage caused by their negligence. Despite this admission, they are refusing a full refund. The tire pressure light is also still on after their tire service, and the rim was scratched. This is a documented safety failure that endangered my family. Full complaint on file at: https://www.bbb.org/us/ny/fairport/profile/auto-repair/monro-inc-0041-6000929/complaints?sort=recent&status=answered&type=serviceorrepair Avoid this location. @MonroAutoTire @monroauto

Already had it at another 2 shops, both stated that was the only issue they saw that would throw the cat code. So take it to the muffler shop after setting up an appointment 4 days prior because the other shops wont/cant cut rusted bolts. I left it the night before with what i wanted done on the early bird fill out form. Get a call at 4pm next day telling me to cut 2 bolts off and change the gasket its gonna be $300 and that my resonator is magically shot and my flex pipe is shredded. both other shops i was under my vehicle and not a single thing wrong with the exhaust which i had told both shops to check because of the cat code popping up and disappearing. when i pick up the car the service writer looks at me and asks if i had already been under the vehicle because what i asked to have repaired was very specific. I said yes and that is why i know they was lying about the other stuff needing to be repaired. he did not even respond, I paid for my inspection and plate light bulb and left. :Update: Spoke to Tim, Apparently I have given attitude to the service writer and was told to go find another shop. I attached the response from Tim and apparently he watched video of every time I have come in and has seen I have given attitude to his service writers. So the $15,000+ I have spent there with no issues in the past three years on 5 different vehicles. Apparently Every time I have given attitude. This last time I was in, your right I gave the writer attitude after he lied about repairs to my exhaust needing to be done over the phone. That weren't part of an inspection so I wouldn't fail on those as he said. But too cut 2 rusted bolts and replace a gasket on a pipe near the car is at least $300. Ok check your video of what he said when he called me, Tim. And listen to what he said. Because I only had attitude after he said resonator was shot and flex pipe is shredded. And I have been under the vehicle 2 times before bringing it to you. And nothing wrong with the exhaust except the other shops couldn't cut rusted bolts off.

When, during your cross-country roadtrip in an '84 Vanagon Westphalia is interrupted, just like…read morethat-- it is always like this, with cars with people; we, ourselves, are probably too old, in our middle 60's, to have undertaken this trip at all, sans air-conditioning, with our sweet eight-year-old dog-- on Hwy 90 in Fingerlakes region of New York (so close to making it all the way across!), the sudden loss of power indicating something grave, you are thinking, like the main drive belt, & you pull over (plenty of room for a tow-truck, just in case), & toss out all the luggage in back because underneath it is the old engine & you have *two* spare drive belts & can do this repair yourself! Only you can see immediately that the belt is fine. You start the car again: no gears to shift into; we lost the clutch, you are thinking. Then the superb tow-truck driver at Farmington Towing (shout-out! sorry I forgot your name; see: "mid-60's), suggests I call CDI in Victor while he's up-loading the van & Mike, co-owner, answers the phone & says, "I don't even have anywhere to *put* your car & we're booking out three weeks from now & one of our mechanics is on vacation, but, sure, bring it by." Apologies for suspending the punchline for so long, but, after renting a car (shout out to the local Enterprise & Caleb) & thinking we'd be spending the next week exploring the Fingerlakes for the next week (we're fine with that: see "mid-60's), & spending the night in a sweet & vacant yurt (shout-out Plum Point Lodge), Mike at CDI has, overnight!, determined that the clutch cable & assembly are actually fine & that what need repairing are the CV joint & boot (so doable, especially when, as owner, you have a thing for old vw vans & have spare parts in abundance!). Mike has our van back on the road in 24 hours (backup on the lot be damned; he's committed to "getting us back on the road" to complete our cross-country road-trip)! Robert (shout-out: a mechanic who works with Mike) identifies an axel issue (that would have been big trouble further down the road) as well, so they fix that, too. All this to say that CDI Auto Repair in Victor, NY, is one of those magical, necessary stops along the road you didn't even know you needed to encounter. Now writing from Maine just a couple of days later: my grandfather was a great & honest auto mechanic; I know them when I happen upon them. (Shout-out also to Garrett at C & G Auto Repair in Hanksville, UT for his own skillful & timely work to keep us going). Yes, we highly recommend CDI-- among the best auto-repair experiences we've ever had. Skillful, humane, most excellent!

The price was reasonable and he was as honest as you'd wish any mechanic would be. That was more than 7 years ago and we've been going to Ken's ever since. He's honest and fair...2 words you rarely hear when it comes to mechanics. He's making an honest living making this a family business. Ken's son is now on the payroll and he's following in his father's footsteps. We recently purchased a car off his lot and we were informed of all the things that were needed and that he'd (his son) taken care of prior to the sale. Knowing the car was for my son, he went above and beyond to make sure it was safe before the delivery to us. They always stand by their work. They should have a BBB grade of A+ They've actually gone as far as dropping my car off at my house because their lot was too full to keep it there. I would highly recommend family and friends alike to take their car to Ken's Auto.

Zack was patient and took the time to explain things to me in a matter that I could understand. My son picked his car up Friday afternoon.
