Tipsy Tiki in Waikiki is a small but very cool spot to grab a drink. I stopped in for a Mai Tai, which was refreshing. The ambiance has a fun, laid-back feel, making it a great place to relax for a quick drink before exploring more of Waikiki. It's not a big bar, but that's part of its charm. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!

Tipsy Tiki = strong drinks, chill vibes, and zero regrets

We found this little gem while looking for a spot to watch the 49ers game, and it did not disappoint. Drinks were strong, smooth, and looked almost too pretty to sip on (almost). The piña coladas were the kind that make you rethink every sad blender version you've ever had at home, and the Tipsy Mai Tai definitely lived up to its name. The bartender was super friendly, the vibe was laid-back, and while there were a surprising number of Bucs fans hanging around, respect. It just added to the fun. TVs all around, good energy, and tiki drinks that sneak up on you in the best way. A great little spot to grab a few drinks, watch some football, and pretend you're living your best island life.

Love visiting Matt for a drink whenever I can! Always has fresh ingredients, tasty drink specials & amazing food here too! Highly recommend

Tiki bar located in the mall food court in Waikiki. We actually came here two times in one day- once before the cirque de soleil show, then I brought my brothers here for an after show drink. Same bartender and she was great and very friendly, made killer drinks too. Lots of regulars here, but felt very welcomed. Cool vibe and was fitting for Hawaii.

Loved this place! We visited this cool little place on 02/21/25. Our server was fantastic I don't remember her name but she had a thick accent. We tried the Casamigos Cadillac margarita, guava margarita, chips and salsa, birria ramen, and the birria beef tacos. We returned on Sunday 2/23/25 for more food and drinks. We had the beef nachos and La Pina margaritas. The guy working Sunday was nice and provided outstanding customer service. The drinks are strong which is great! (We sat outside and were served by the outdoor staff).

Chips, guacamole and mai tai was

This place will leave you tipsy or maybe I'm just a lightweight. I came in for a snack and drink and ordered guacamole and chips and a mai tai. Surprisingly, the guacamole and chips were very good. The guacamole was fresh and creamy. It needed a little more salt. The chips were light and crunchy. The mai tai was good and strong - sweet, sour, tropical and boozy. I felt tipsy within 30 minutes. Service was excellent and the vibe was relaxed and casual. The bartender was friendly and my food came out quickly. Thank goodness I was in walking distance and not driving. The mai was a strong drink. I drank it all because it was good and wasn't going to let it go to waste.

The local catch fish tacos

I walked up to the bar and was immediately greeted by Matt the bartender. He was super kind and friendly. I asked for a menu so I can decide if this is the place that I wanted, looked over the menu, decide to sit down. I asked for a Cadillac margarita, unfortunately, I fix my like it at first, but he did remake it for me and was perfect the second time (I am VERY picky when it comes to margaritas because I love them so much so not on him). I ordered the Local Catch fish tacos by his recommendation, and they were absolutely delicious. I did not get the rice and beans, but it was not needed, burst of flavors from the tacos. I love the music and the bar, not too loud, but also loud enough for good vibes. Seems like all of the coworkers like working with him and just all-around good vibes!! Thank you for the great experience and I may come back after my hike from Manoa falls :) Also, wanted to shout out, bartender/cashier, Jacob!! Very sweet guy with great conversation. If Matt, the bartenders, not here, it makes you go order from Jacob, because he is awesome!!

Great atmosphere with such friendly staff. Matt at the Tipsy Tiki bar was awesome and he helped us when we wandered in. He mixed up a deliciously smoky and spicy mezcal old fashioned.

Matt the bartender was an excellent mixologist and personable bartender. Will be back for more!

Matt was an excellent bartender! Super friendly and made the most amazing margaritas. Will be back for more as a Kama'Aina!

Is it kid friendly?

YES! We love kids and even have a kid menu! Because we are located inside a restaurant and primarily serve food, kids are allowed to sit at tables inside the bar area or even at the accompanied with a parent.

To my surprise, on a Sunday evening after having dinner nearby at Maze, my wife and I walked over to Bar Leather Apron and we were able to get seated right away! In fact, around 7:30 p.m. when we stopped by, there was actually a ton of seating available in the bar. Who would've guessed. If you're in the same boat as me and are unable to find a reservation for your upcoming visit, I would encourage you to stop by and try a walk-in. The first page of the menu lists a wide variety of whiskey based cocktails. Most -- if not all, of the cocktails are pre-fixed with BLA (Bar Leather Apron), and represent a collaboration with the named distillery. If you're fan of whiskey, you'll definitely have a difficult time picking only one. I ultimately ordered their "Take Warning" -- 2021 BLA Knob Creek BLA Single Barrel, Cynar, Carpano Antica, Mezcal, Bergamot Salt. Drinks here are not cheap -- averaging $20 to $25 per drink. Although my drink was very spirit forward, it still felt very well balanced. I appreciated the hint of smokiness from the mezcal that rounded out the end of a sip. Service here quick and friendly. When we received the check, a cute small chocolate snack was brought over as well, borrowed from the menu at Maze. Overall, I can see why Bar Leather Apron has earned so many accolades in its field. Definitely worth a stop by if you enjoy the art of mixology.

Tucked on the second floor of a Piikoi Parkway building, it feels like stepping back in time, a true bespoke bar with vintage art, moody lighting, and comfy couches that make it perfect for couples or a night out with friends. We sat at the bar, which was a highlight, Michael and Tony were welcoming, easy to talk story with, and clearly know their craft. I went with the Barreled Old Man, a smooth, layered mix of bourbon, rye, and brandy that just worked, while my wife's Sesame Veil brought a nutty, balanced flavor that stood out. For round two, the Espressing My Love was a great take on an espresso martini, and Michael built my wife a custom drink off her favorite flavors and nailed it again. We paired it with the smoked mozzarella and salami grilled cheese and Ho Farms tomato soup, and this is where it really hit. The sandwich came out hot and crisp, and when you took a bite the cheese pulled away just right, that perfect melt, with the salami adding a savory kick. The tomato soup was fresh, bright, and made for dipping you didn't want to stop. We were welcomed with a table that had our name on it, a small touch that goes a long way. Prices are on point for the quality and experience you're getting. It's a bit of a hidden, hip spot, not for a quick drink but for when you want to sit, relax, and enjoy it. Parking is tight, but you can park at Ala Moana and walk over, and it's worth it. Next time we're coming back for Grandma's Old Fashioned and the pork belly bao buns. Chat gpt recommended this place and I have to say the AI was right! The place is really fun. You can park downstairs and they valet Park you and they will stamp you for free parking. One thing to note, they don't serve their lunch menu after 4:00 so we went there expecting burgers and they don't serve them. So we kind of stayed reluctantly. I ended up ordering the guava ribs and my wife got them too. Those had to be the best ribs I think I have ever had! They literally fall off the bone as you're trying to pick up the meat. One of the reasons we wanted to go here was we wanted the options of seafood but one of our adults doesn't like seafood and they said that they had all kinds of stuff, which they do. Our server Maka, was incredible. He brings us out a free appetizer and said that was from the chef. I don't know if it was the chef or him but I was impressed and it was good. It was some kind of little fried dumpling. It was awesome! One of the people in our party had thought he was not going to order something and I gave him one of my ribs and after he tasted it, suddenly he wanted some too. I grabbed Maka and asked him If he could get those ribs fast because the rest of us were already halfway through our meals. He got right on it and had that order in. The ribs came out just in time and everybody was happy. It ended up being one of the nicest meals that we had the whole week. We were here and it was a great way to end our vacation here in Hawaii.
