Tried this restaurant with my family the other day and are a bit sad to say that we were not impressed. The best part of our meal was the fun, dirty sodas. You sit at a table and order off your phone, and servers will bring your food and drinks out to you. Had no problem with that, it was a fairly easy process. Our servers were kind and I believe we talked to the owner for a bit who was attentive to all the tables! The food is the disappointing piece. I had the chicken rojo avocado tacos and they really lacked flavor. There was plenty of chicken in such a small tortilla, which made the taco fall apart as you ate. My sister ordered the pesto Mac and cheese with chicken and it was okay, but the chicken was not good. I didn't try the tenderloin bowl, but it seemed to have better reviews than my meal or my sisters from my family. I don't make my way out to Blaine often enough to try again, but I think this would be a better spot for pizzas and milkshakes. read more

Stopped here for dinner w/ 2 friends. There's a bit of construction that makes getting here a bit confusing depending on which direction you are traveling. The gps sent me to a roundabout and told me the restaurant was the center of the roundabout. had to go back to the main road and detour all the way around then there was signs. Its seat yourself. You order at the counter or via QR code via your phone and they bring your food to you. I ordered an impossible cheeseburger + fries & a dirty soda. Everything was good. They had a walleye fish special going on, my friends shared that & fries for their meal. Not much interaction w/ staff as it's mostly help yourself but someone did come out and greet us and made sure we knew how the ordering process worked. I sat down for my first time at the Tipsy Steer after a tournament to catch the NBA Finals and grab food. I was impressed by all of the TVs throughout the restaurant, making it easy to watch plenty of games. There is also a ton of seating for big groups, which makes sense given the proximity to the National Sports Center. To keep ordered moving quickly, tables either order through QR codes or up at the main register. From that point, you get your beverage cup to refill as you need and the food came out really quick! This location is no longer partnered with a brewery, and is not serving alcohol, but they seem to make up for it with great food offerings - dirty sodas and pickles pizza! This was my second time at this location within the last couple of years. This place was very busy when we arrived on a Tuesday evening. They do have lots of parking! The ambiance is pretty typical to most breweries. Lots of picnic tables. You can order at your table using a QR code. I do like that! The person who dropped our food off didn't smile, didn't say anything at all. Just dropped the food off and walked away. Not the type of service you expect at your local brewery. The bacon lollipops again, were the best item here. And at the price point they are at, I just can't justify it. They are very tasty though! The shrimp po boy was just ok. The bread came out soggy, which wasn't very appetizing. The flavor was very average. The whipped feta dip was our least favorite. The texture and taste just didn't do anything for us and the pita bread tasted stale. Unfortunately this was a worse experience than the first time. I went at 11 AM on a Friday with a group of girlfriends. There was plenty of parking and we got right in. One thing to note, if there are sporting events at the fields around this restaurant, this place gets crazy busy. I've come here with my family and kiddos before and is great when they're not insanely busy. You order your food and drinks off of a QR code, but can also order at the counters. Food: 5/5. I got a short rib bowl and the mix of meat, cauliflower rice and lime aioli and all the other toppings was perfectly balanced and seasoned. I love that this came with cauliflower rice instead of normal rice. Overall they have great variety of food and drinks. Service: 4/5. You order yourself here, and overall service was quick. One of my friends got her food 10 minutes after us despite ordering at the same time. Something to keep in mind if you're with a group and not ordering through the same order. Ambiance: 4/5. This is definitely a bar scene. There is plenty of space between all of the tables, but is in general can get very busy and noisy. Overall this is a great place to eat if it is not crazy busy. This place is huge, looks like a barn inside that's renovated. One side is the bar and the otherside is the food. You can order the beers from your table as well, just scan the barcode. We ordered at the counter and one of the staff will bring out the food. I ordered blueberry apple pecan salad, that was yummy. My daughter was craving for fried fish and tartar, she ordered the sunnies and chips. Fish was nicely seasoned and she had to get the wings too. They provided an estimated ready time, and I was also able to request curbside pickup, which was very convenient. I ordered the snapper sandwich, It was a large serving of grilled fish, topped with a spicy and delicious sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, and I added avocados for $2. Sandwich was 10/10 and reasonably priced at $21.50 since it also came with a large serving of crispy fries. For dessert, I ordered a root beer float. I have to say everything was neatly packaged. The ice cream was placed in a cup with a lid and I received a bottle of MN brewed root beer. I enjoyed everything I ordered. The only area of opportunities were, I didn't receive any plastic ware or napkins in my to go order. Thankfully the hotel had some. Also, the order was probably about 10-15 minutes later than the time communicated on the app and written on the bag. Not sure if they forgot I was in curbside but it was a longer wait than expected. Bang bang shrimp for the win! Crunchy, crispy spicy greatness with a delectable dipping sauce. Pickle pizza is also lovely but wish they had more pickles and dill sprigs on it so I have some in each bite but that hasn't stopped me for coming back multiple times to eat it. The armadillo eggs were alright and the pretzel and cheese was also okay but I like the cheap fake nacho cheese better than the fancy kind of chalky consistency of the fancy cheese dip so that personal preference. The Oreo shake was good but wish it came with a real Oreos vs the chocolate whip cream kind of cookie. Desserts were lackluster and small so I would not order again. Since it is connected to the brewery it's fun to get flights to try a few drink options. They have a selection of ciders if you are not a beer drinker. I am visiting from out of town and a huge beer fan, so I tried this place. The beer was not that great but that another review... This place is like a big barn and very welcoming. Soccer fields across the street must attract a lot of parents taking a break! The huge parking lot was nearly full. The big problem here is the service. We came in and stood at the "Please Wait To Be Seated" sign for several minutes while the same server passed by 3 times without a word or any eye contact. So much for "Minnesota Nice". Most of the servers act like they don't want to be here. Our food was just plopped on the table with no comment, no smiles, no nothing. The good new is that the food was very good. My burger was the "lil spicy" which had a unique topping combination of Tennessee hot sauce, pepper jack, brie, jalapeno aioli, pickles, arugula, and charred jalapenos. I had them hold off on the pickles and arugala and subbed caramelized onions instead. SO MUCH FLAVOR. I loved the blend of the hot sauce, pepper jack and jalapeno aioli. When it comes to the food, the menu has a lot to choose from and it's definitely possible there are some hidden gems. On this visit, we didn't come away having found one. The fries with short rib were pretty mediocre - the short rib was dry and they definitely needed a bit more queso. The armadillo eggs were pretty unique and while they were definitely worth trying, they're not necessarily something I'll find myself craving anytime soon. Lastly, the burger had a nice list of additions, but really might have been better off just plain as the patties were solid. This is not a full bar service, however the tap house had many options for craft beers, ciders, seltzers, and hard lemonades. This is a popular place! I love that they have outdoor seating and that you order at the counter/at your table via scanning the menu. Lots of parking in their private lot and if you are into watching TV, they have plenty. Service is quick and good most of the time. They can get very busy! Food: The Combine burger is delicious, Chicken rojo tacos were meh (I wouldn't order them again, there are far tastier things here). The sausages (hot link beef, apple gouda (my fave), and German bratwurst) are good. Up in smoke pizza is so good! On November 1, my family and I were coming home late from a benefit event and were craving the Chicken Pesto pizza on your menu. We called the Blaine location at 10:19PM hoping someone could still make a pizza for us since the closing time was 10.30PM. Josh answered the phone and announced "last call" for the kitchen, and squeezed in our order. We ordered 2 pizzas, and arrived exactly at 10:29PM for the pickup. This needs to be said: Whoever the chef lady was that night is a-m-a-z-i-n-g!  She made the "BEST CHICKEN PESTO PIZZAs" we ever had.  EVER!  Mind you, this happened at the end of a long working day. The parking lot was packed with no clear directions for overflow parking. After circling a bit we eventually got a spot. You seat yourself, pay at the same time you order at the register and give the register person your table number. (However, the bar tab was separate, confusingly with a completely different table number required when ordering.) Your food and drinks are brought to your table. They say you can pick two: good service, fast service, or cheap service. This place is good and cheap (well, nothing is cheap these days, but the prices are reasonable.) Some of the food came out fast, some of it didn't. As a party of six, with 3 different bills placed one right after another (as we queued up together), there seemed no rhyme or reason to how it came out to us. The first group got one entree from their order (a tenderloin salad) but waited for their last 2 entrees (burger and a taco bowl) for over half an hour. Now I'll say this: half an hour to wait for food isn't unreasonable normally, but it's awkward when everyone else has their food already and has to choose between waiting to be polite or digging in while the food is still warm. Most of us had finished eating by the time the last two people got their entrees. The place was hopping and there was a constant line to order food, despite being a Monday night. I'm sure being right across from the soccer complex keeps them busy. That would normally give me the impression "of course the food would take longer, they're very busy" except that everyone else at our table got their food (burgers, pizza, nachos) much earlier than the first group did. So, I'm not sure what happened there. The nice thing was the variety on the menu. Our group had varying dietary restrictions (nut allergies, fish allergies, vegans, gluten intolerant) and there was at least one option for everyone. Especially for the vegans, it was nice to have more than just an impossible burger to choose from. Our vegans got the chorizo taco bowl and the vegan nachos (huge plate!) and both were well pleased with their food. The birthday cake milkshake is just a vanilla shake, not exciting, but with literal slice of cake on top it was fun and festive. All in all, everyone agreed their food was good, the drinks were good, the prices were good, the patio was nice, but the ordering system is bizarre and we would never eat inside because the acoustics were terrible. (Like shouting-at-the-person-right-across-from-you-as-if-you're-in-a-nightclub level of terrible) I would be willing to go back (on the patio) to give it another shot since pretty much everything but the food timing was good. read more

I wouldn't usually rate a restaurant within a brewery as 5 stars as most brewery foods are subpar but that is where Tipsy Steer separates themselves! They have elevated brewery food which makes it so easy to take our family to five and everyone be able to pick something off of their menu and be super full! I love the wide selection from burgers to wood fired pizzas to armadillo eggs to custom seasonal shakes that my kids dream about just as much as I dream about the Invictus Brewing beer! The food comes our really fast and is separate ordering from the brewery which makes things fast and easy! Parking looks like a disaster every time, spots are easy to find but with how many cars you see you think there is no way you will get seating inside and there has always been plenty of room! The brewery is so large and love the patio in the summer! Perfect location as it's right next to all the soccer fields in Blaine so you will get a lot of families in between games. read more

This is a fun place to meet for drinks and allows for a leisurely pace. They have a brewery where drinks can be ordered easily through a QR code. They have a good amount of cider options. I did a flight of beers which was a good choice. My favorite was the cranberry cider. The food was good and came out fairly quickly. They have food runners, but most of the ordering is self service. They had plenty of tables and a side room with more seating. This place caters to families and middle aged people. Staff was around pretty frequently to clear tables, drop off food and check in on tables. It's a nice mix between a brewery and a restaurant. read more

My kids love their milkshakes-they are huge and have literal pieces of cake, brownies, etc on top. Please, please be aware of how to order here! At least once a visit I see someone storming out from no one coming to take their order. You find a table and grab a menu. Take a look at what table you are clipped to the top of the holder on your table (crab, helicopter, etc). My friend and I decided to try this place for dinner few weeks ago. Since we could only do pick up due to Covid we ordered ahead and picked up. My friend got the Bang Bang Shrimp tacos and I got the Tennessee hot chicken. The tacos looked amazing and my friend really liked it. My sandwich was good but not something I would order again. There were really big pieces of brussel sprouts in the slaw which really didn't go with the sandwich. The online menu said it's a Kale crunch Cilantro ranch slaw. After my daughter's soccer game tonight, we let her pick a new restaurant we've never been to. She decided "The Tipsy Steer" sounded fun...so off we went. Lucky for me, it turned out to be a brewery. This particular establishment formerly was a Joe's Crab Shack, turned brewery. It really seemed like a great place to get some friends together for some beers. It also featured a lot of outdoor seating. Since I was driving afterwards, I opted for a single glass of beer, a raspberry blend. Very light in taste. Too light for my normal tastes, but not bad by any means. The menu was 'fancy'. It took me a long time to finally decide on what to order. I chose something different, Brisket Tacos. My wife couldn't find anything she wanted, so she ordered a cheeseburger. My daughter had the classic chicken fingers. We also ordered an appetizer of Duck Bacon Wantons. The wantons were ok. There was only a tiny bit of the mixture in each otherwise beautiful looking wanton. Had the four rather expensive wontons had much more content in each one, I would have loved them. My tacos were ok, though I wouldn't order them again. My wife's cheeseburger was ok. Chicken fingers tasted like the norm. The fries were quite good though. My daughter finished the meal with a Root beer Float, which I personally thought was excellent. They even give you the entire root beer bottle, which was a nice touch.
