On November 1, my family and I were coming home late from a benefit event and were craving the…read moreChicken Pesto pizza on your menu. We called the Blaine location at 10:19PM hoping someone could still make a pizza for us since the closing time was 10.30PM. Josh answered the phone and announced "last call" for the kitchen, and squeezed in our order. We ordered 2 pizzas, and arrived exactly at 10:29PM for the pickup. This needs to be said: Whoever the chef lady was that night is a-m-a-z-i-n-g!  She made the "BEST CHICKEN PESTO PIZZAs" we ever had.  EVER!  Mind you, this happened at the end of a long working day. Definitely, your staff deserves a spot on a Guy Fieri highlight reel - you all delivered such stellar service and epic food. Thank you Tipsy Steer Blaine. You people are definitely central casting!

You sit at a table and order off your phone, and servers will bring your food and drinks out to you. Had no problem with that, it was a fairly easy process. Our servers were kind and I believe we talked to the owner for a bit who was attentive to all the tables! The food is the disappointing piece. I had the chicken rojo avocado tacos and they really lacked flavor. There was plenty of chicken in such a small tortilla, which made the taco fall apart as you ate. My sister ordered the pesto Mac and cheese with chicken and it was okay, but the chicken was not good. I didn't try the tenderloin bowl, but it seemed to have better reviews than my meal or my sisters from my family. I don't make my way out to Blaine often enough to try again, but I think this would be a better spot for pizzas and milkshakes.

I've given this place more than a couple tries and it's just never that good. The best thing about…read moreit is the popcorn. On our recent visit we had a nacho. Half the cheese wasn't melted at all and we had asked for jalepenos on the side but they came on top. Could have used more salsa as well. Overall pretty meh. I had an Italian Beef special that was pretty meh as well. Bland even with gardienera and au jus/gravy. The bread was boring and the fries were meh as well. My husband's cheeseburger was pretty pathetic looking and there was no LTO or anything offered. He didn't even finish it and he eats EVERYTHING. The place is always busy - I suspect because of proximity to the sports center. This visit we actually made a reservation so we could get in! But we both agreed there wasn't any point in trying again.

Our server was pleasant and helped us with highlights of the menu (this was our first visit). We started with the Pretzel bread app which arrived looking good and hot. They were tasty and a good start to the meal. I had the BBQ sandwich (see pic) which a just ok. The meat was not well "pulled" and was a bit tough to chew. Flavor was average...nothing outstanding or better than other BBQ available in the Twin Cities. My buddy went with the the Chicken Fried Chicken...a large portion covered with plenty of gravy (see photo). Our entrees arrived promptly and at a good temp. Overall, thanks primarily to good service, the visit to Clive's was fine. While we'd try differerent items from the large menu, we would likely stop in when in the area.

We've…read morenoticed it countless times on our way to Hajime next door, so we figured it was finally time to check it out. The restaurant was understaffed - the bartender was not only running the bar but also serving the entire dining area. We sat at the bar and waited about 10 minutes before being greeted. We also overheard a nearby table voice frustration about the slow service. We're pretty patient, so it wasn't the end of the world, but it was noticeably slow. That said, once we were helped, our server was friendly and attentive. I ordered a Spicy Margarita and my husband went with an Old Fashioned. My margarita was on the weaker side; not bad, just forgettable. My husband enjoyed his Old Fashioned. For food, we tried the Bang Bang Shrimp, Thai Chicken Lettuce Wraps, and the Crab-Stuffed Portabella. The standout was definitely the Bang Bang Shrimp; we both really liked it. The lettuce wraps and stuffed mushroom were fine, just not dishes we'd return specifically for. The overall vibe was calm and low-key, and the staff was kind despite being stretched thin. I'm glad we gave it a try, but it's probably not a place we'll be rushing back to.
