It was loud as hell in there, and that's the day after... a T-Swift concert... so, take that for what it's worth. Our server was efficient and helped us make some decisions. Went to eat here on a Friday around noon. Not busy at all. All windows at bar were open and fly's were everywhere. It's loud and buggy. The service was horrible. They may have been 20 people in the entire place and it's was ridiculous trying to get someone's attention. Our food was dropped off without one word as to "here you go, need anything else?" Biscuits had barely any gravy on them. Finally had to ask the bartender if she could get our waitress, Alliah, so we could ask for more gravy and a side of mayonnaise. 10 to 15 minutes later we had to ask the bartender again to get our server who was rolling silverware in a corner. At this point we just asked for boxes and I asked for the sides we still needed. She replied, "do you still need them if you're leaving?" Eggstacy is way better and way more friendly of a restaurant. I really love breakfast spots and was excited to hear when this place opened. I noticed the menu had a lot of options that both myself and my fiancé enjoy so I knew it was only a matter of time until we tried it. On Sunday 8-7-22 we visited and put our name in for a table and we're quoted 35 minutes. As a frequent breakfast person in Chandler/ Gilbert we know this is normal and stuck it out. Unfortunately if I would have know how I was going to be treated later I would have left immediately. At the 40 minute mark we inquired as to the wait time and were told by the manager that she mistakenly typed in our phone number wrong. No harm no foul as our table wasn't ready but we were assured it would be soon. As a 10+ year server in both high turnover establishments and later fine dining I was amazed at the fact that multiple tables were cleaned and open for quite some time (10-20 minutes) before being sat but I minded my own business and still said nothing. What I did see is the poor hostesses trying to do their jobs and the manager micromanaging them to the point that they couldn't make a single decision. At the 55 minute mark I was beginning to get pretty frustrated. It was at that point my fiancé asked how much longer it would be and was told "soon" again. At this point my fiancé and I had been standing at the door with our 6 month pregnant friend and our four year old for 55 minutes and the same table that was open 15 minutes previous was still open. Finally at the 65 minute mark I was annoyed and I approached the host stand and it was clear the manager knew why I was there before I opened my mouth. When I asked when we're being sat she told me "soon" again and I asked for a time estimate and stated that we had been quoted 35 minutes (by her) and that it was now 65 minutes. The response was amazing..."Well we're busy and it's youre choice to wait or not. You can leave anytime." Let me get this straight. You quote me 35 minutes and I wait 65 minutes and I'm the unreasonable one? I immediately mention the open tables to which she tells me that she doesn't want to slam her kitchen. If you know anything about serving this is exactly how you do just that. You seat multiple tables and have multiple orders go back at the same time. I respond by telling her that she was extremely negligent in the quote and that I just wanted a time of how much longer we we're going to wait. The manager responded by being rude to the point that I said "I'm not going to say another word to you" and turned around. She continued to tell me about her 20+ years in the industry before stopping. In front of a packed house and full waiting area this manager thought it best to not apologize for the error and correct it but to berate me in front of other guests as well as my family and friend. We finally were seated at the 75 minute mark (40 minutes after our quote time). Our server was nice and accommodating. The food was good but I would pass on the omelette the next time and opt for something else. The other meals on the table were awesome and while there was nothing wrong with the omelette it was just a bit plain. Tipsy egg? I tried a vegan bloody and it was great. I did have to send it back to add the tajin rim (not trying to be a complainer but I love a bloody with a salt or tajin rim). It was fixed and was great! By the time we left we had recognized three people that worked here and each came over to say hi to my fiancé and our friend. The employees that were around us all seemed courteous other than the manager. I did ask and it was explained that the female manager was the GM. Wow. Not only did she never come by and follow up but she fired off a dirty look to me as we exited. I wish you the best on this new endeavor but with management like this you're likely going to have a rocky road. They ran out of clean utensils on a Friday morning and then copped an attitude after we complained but also after we were served our food. Every downtown area should have a fun brunch spot- this ain't it unfortunately. As I entered, hostess appeared confused- didn't greet, however sat me promptly for a table for 2. I was met by my server right away but he was not friendly and gave off this "busy" feeling even though the restaurant wasn't at a capacity level granting his shortness. I was given a water and when asked for my drink order, Paloma, he asked if I had meant a Paloma mimosa, I stated no- just a Paloma. The server said back to me "Ok so you want grapefruit juice and tequila then?" Like I should have jus said that. Also- a Paloma is NOT "just grapefruit juice and tequila" but it wasn't worth the correction and took my juice with tequila- NOT Paloma. Food portions are very large but NO flavor. I ordered the Turkey omelet. Potatoes tasted good. Towards the end I asked for a cup of coffee- I was given a lukewarm cup of black coffee and was not offered any cream or sugar. I drank it black. I really hope they can correct the issues here with flavorless food and grumpy staff given downtown can really give this lots of business. Also- there's no fun "ambiance" to this place. Tried their breakfast this weekend and was amazing! I had the Peppered steak skillet w\mushroom dish but if came with home fries and 2 eggs n toast. They specialize in Mimosa's and seen several that looked wonderful but I stuck with coffee today. The coffee was great,very good brew. I sat at the inside bar and had a great conversation with people around me as well as the bar tender. Overall a great experience and great food! My sister and I were 2 of 7 people sitting at the bar. It took several minutes to get service. The restaurant wasn't very busy. About 50% or less full. I placed my order, received it and it was wrong. They replaced it with a second order, which had a long hair in it peeking out from underneath the hollandaise sauce. I sent that back. The third time the meat was overcooked. By this time I was just plain tired of dealing with it, so I ate the food.The bartender did apologize. Definite must try. If there is a wait-WAIT! This place is cozy. The drinks are creative. They sound like they can't possibly go together but they do and they are wonderful. The menu is inspired and they have a creative spin on breakfast comfort foods. Expect to meet new friends sitting around you. The food wasn't that good and I had to send the first order back because it was burnt and crispy (not what a pot roast should taste like). When the food was dropped off, they didn't ask if needed anything with it like ketchup or hot sauce and we had to wait for her to come back around to ask for it. I ordered something else and it wasn't that good but I was hungry so I just ate what I could and ended up getting more food at a fast food place. I don't recommend at all. I really wanted to like this place but it was not worth it. I understand being short staffed, but this was just more than that. We felt unwelcome. Way overcooked egg sandwiched around a big glob of cheese. My wife ordered two eggs over medium and she got two eggs that were very undercooked, runny whites.
