So unprofessional and rude. I walked in today to get my eyebrows done. As soon as I walked in, several different people asked me, "pedicure?" and when I said no, that I just wanted my eyebrows done they instantly lost interest and called another woman over (Lina? or something similar) and yet again, was asked about a pedicure. After it was finally established that all I wanted was my brows done, she brought me back into the room where she rudely made comments to me about my eyebrows and said, "Why don't you just get them tattooed on?" I explained that I was not interested in that, tried to laugh it off. Then, she proceeded to start and yet again rudely told me to close my eyes and jerked my face to the side and making comments about my brows (they are not as full as I'd like - but I get them cleaned up now & then in between trying to grow them a bit fuller) and then said, "you have more hair in your mustache than in your eyebrows." I was about to jump off the table and leave right then and there, but she has already done one eyebrow. When it was over, she told me to go pay, told the cashier that she was going to lunch and "the husband" was paying. I do not think I have honestly ever had a worse experience in a salon of any kind, in my entire life. I waited for my husband and told him to please pay because I had to get the h#ll out of there. No, I do not have a mustache, nor do I feel that I need to get "eyebrow tattoos." My advice to Tip Top Nails in Venice, FL (next to Publix) is: If you don't want walk-ins you should take down the sign that says you welcome it & if you hate eyebrow customers (or anyone who doesn't get a pedicure) then you should stop providing the service. read more

I've been going here for more than a year and am really happy with the environment, the quality of the service and the people. The technicians are unfailingly friendly and I have found all of them to do a great job on my pedicures. If you want a killer leg rub...ask for Billy; he's got really strong hands. They offer a variety of nail services, as well as waxing, facials and eyelash extensions. I get a facial once a month from Heidi, one of the owners, and they are superb. I think this may be her ministry! At any rate, I don't know what in the world Michelle G. was talking about...this is a clean, well run, terrific place. I've been going to Heidi at Tip Top Nails for over two years and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE her. She is always on time, has a pretty smile on her face and does a great job. The salon is quite large with a lot of technicians but Heidi and her husband Tom run it like a fine tune machine. Always courteous and helpful to those who walk in without an appointment. They win Best of Venice every year and deservedly so! The salon is great and I'm happy Heidi convinced me to live on the edge and use "My Pal Joey"....she will understand this comment! We are moving out of state and I can only hope to find a salon as good as Tip Top Nails and a technician I will like as much as Heidi. Thanks for a great couple of years! read more

I am sooooo happy! I found Tom! Tom was the owner/manager of the Tip Top Nails on Venice Ave and also owns the location at Jacaranda next to Publix. But Tom sold the location on Venice Ave and when I called, they would not tell me where Tom could be found. I went all over town trying to find him. I finally tried the Jacaranda location and was thrilled to find Tom and Danny there and they did my nails and my pedicure. It felt wonderful to be back where everyone was friendly and welcoming. They both did a terrific job. Needless to say, I will return...it is the only place that I will go! read more

I don't make all that much money. So when I do something nice for myself by going to a salon, like this, I am looking forward to having a nice experience. It's a real shame when people treat customers badly, no matter how much money they do or don't spend. I understand how it feels to be overworked and underpaid, but I don't think I'm asking for too much when it comes to just being treated respectfully as a paying customer. If it weren't for customers, they would have no business and if they don't improve them I don't see this place lasting much longer. read more

We went to have our nails and toes done tonight and they were so fantastic! We had Tracy, Kyle and a few others I did not catch their names. Kyle did my acrylic French tips and added the designs on my daughter's nails. The gentleman that did my toes was fantastic! Tracy was so kind and patient with my daughter. I have been coming to Tip Top Nails every two weeks for the past 6 years! The owners, Tom and Heidi, are always so pleasant and kind (as well as the rest of the staff). I feel like a part of the family every time I go in. My nails, toes and eyebrows always look flawless! I got a mani and pedi and all I can say is that I probably could've done a better job myself. It could've been neater and they didn't put enough coats on my nails, I notice there were some spots that weren't as opac as the rest of my nail. Also I noticed they reuse the sponges that they use to scrub people's feet,nail buffer,nail files ect. As well as not sterilizing there tubs for pedi's after use. read more

I went and got a mani/pedi there and the place was awesome. The receptionist greeted me with a smile and the technicians were very friendly. The salon was extremely clean and has brand new chairs and tables. The environment was relaxing and music playing was peaceful. I will definitely be coming back. read more
