Gosh, getting there was no joke LOL I was lost at first because google maps takes you to the other side of the building. I was about to give up but I really wanted to try it here... and I'm so glad I did! The food is French and South East Asian inspired and so is their shop! They have little accent decor that's Asian inspired while the tables and bakery set up bring in the French vibes. I've never seen this combo together before but I'm loving it. The food was great, I was debating on getting the 4 course meal because for $32 it seemed like a steal. We ended up just getting the Laotian pot pie and seafood brioche instead. Both were good but I loved the Laotian one more than the seafood, the seafood was a little too black peppery for me. And now for dessert, hehe. We had to try the chocolate pyramids!!! That was a must and boy it did NOT disappoint, it was so rich and decadent... so worth the trip. It was the ultimate chocolate treat. We also got cheesecakes, you can never go wrong with that. Overall I had a great experience, the staff were very helpful and patient with us since it was our first time there. I'm yet to try the rest of their food menu but I know that the pricing is worth it. It's creative, fun, and I think affordable fancy food. The plating is above average for sure. We haven't had too much luck with dining on strictly take out meals so I didn't get my hopes up too much when my son said that he would take care of dinner on Mother's Day. I've always wanted to try Tiny Pyramid but never had a chance to so I was happy to get the opportunity to eat their food. I had the opakapaka pasta with a red sauce. I am a meat sauce kind of guy but this marinara sauce was really delicious, slightly sweet and fresh tasting. I also just scarfed the escargot that came with a piece of baguette and an addicting white sauce. The lobster crostini was also very good but I didn't try the sauces that came with it because I dipped them into the escargot sauce. My wife had the lamb chop Wellington which was tasty but slightly overdone. My wife prefers a medium rare lamb chop. My son loved his lobster pasta with a white sauce. But the highlight was the desserts. We ordered four desserts but they gave us eight so everyone made an effort to save some appetite for these excellent desserts. I've always loved their amazing deserts (it's hard to choose just one). And I finally got to try their regular menu. The lobster raviolis were very good, and the TP coffee was just what I needed during my mid day slump. First time, here as my friend wanted me to meet him and her for lunch at Tiny Pyramid on a Sunday. I had no idea that this place was here as I hardly come to this area. Looking at the menu there is a lot on the menu to choose from. I ordered the Soft Shell Crab BLT as I love Soft Shell Crab and it's something that you don't find on the menu at to many places. We all ordered and in a little while our food came out. I took pictures and a video to post on IG and FB for friends to see as to where there is good food to be found. We went inside to order dessert from a long glass showcase full of yummy desserts and it was so hard to choose only 3 desserts to share. So, we ordered the Lilikoi Cheesecake, Key Lime and the Strawberry Shortcake. All 3 were very good! I would definitely come back here again. read more

Great little cafe that takes it's namesake from the original JJ's in Kaimuki. YES, they have the chocolate pyramid dessert here. They still have all of the favorites such as the fisherman's pot pie, escargots and of course the huge selection of desserts. The cafe is located inside of the old Gentry Design Center but now renamed Na Lama Kukui center. All of the dining tables are located right outside of the cafe store but in the open atrium area of the center. They are known for their pre - fixe or set menus where you can select a soup or salad, appetizer, main entree then any one of the desserts in the showcase which is alway a very difficult decision. I am guessing they have well over 20 different variety of small cakes and dessert delights. Each of them are a work of art alone. The service was very good and they also check for your vaccination credentials upon arrival. I have only dined here in the evenings when all of the other businesses are closed so parking was always wide open. read more

We were there for lunch. I had the cream of corn soup with crab, laos chicken pizza, red velvet mini cake & fresh blueberry tart. The pizza was spicier than I expected & the cream cheese topping on the red velvet had a weird taste like old fridge. Everything else was great. My mom had the fisherman's pot pie & she liked it but it too was spicier than expected. I think the prix fixe offered at dinner sounds like a good deal, so we'll be back to try it. While the parking lot is large, most of the stalls are reserved or for building employees. There is some street parking closer to City Mill. read more

Dine in or dine out.... equally delicious. The staff are sooooo nice!! The deserts and dishes are really, really good. My kids are picky and when we order here, they have no complaints. Since COVID, it has been difficult for us to chose where we want to order from. We headed here with other family after a hike and were not disappointed. Call ahead or order while you're there. Our server Nat and Mat was very accommodating regarding my food allergy. From the cream of corn soup, soft shell crab with toss salad for my wife, Cornish game hen with five spice cream sauce, poached lobster with pasta and cream sauce, the chocolate pyramid, and poached pear with wine sauce. Workers are the nicest -- accommodating, warm, and friendly. Looks like they've added some new tables and it felt a bit more spacious during my most recent visit. Food quality and taste is excellent. Everything I've tried was delicious. The lamb was over cooked a bit, but still tender and yummy (and I'm not a lamb person!). The food usually takes a while to come out, but the wait seems shorter this time! The reason for not giving 5 stars is food quantity -- always have to order an app and or dessert to feel satisfied. Their dessert selection is amazing. I just don't care for their type of filling, which tends to have more of a mouse/foamy texture rather than a more decadent feel, but that's just me. read more

This is one of the best choices in town. From Tea/Coffee and just pastries to a full 4 course dinner (nice to share if you are older), or just the crab corn soup which is creamy and light and not made with flour like a chowder, you cannot go wrong, During Pandemic the outside shaded dining was so safe! I have been eating this food since they were on Waialai Ave in Kimuki and the quality has never been compromised. By the way, the pastries and bread are as good as you can find in Europe. read more

I stumbled upon this gem of a place hidden in the old Pacific Gentry. My friend told me about it, so I stopped by to get some pastries. I brought them back home for my kids and friends and they devoured the cheesecake! They were delicious. I love tarts, so I had one and it was also delicious. Had been a customer since TP's heyday in Kaimuki as JJ's French restaurant. Loyalty made me follow them to their present location on Nimitz Hwy. Have been eating there at least twice monthly, have attended community functions regularly through the years, and used JJ for my wedding anniversary in June 2022. He did a great re-creation of my wedding cake from 30 years ago. Fast forward to October 2022 - I was there for an annual community organization dinner. Reportedly, JJ is training new cooking staff- noticed a difference in the sauces, smaller salmon entree portions, and slow service. Had the four course meal with salad, lobster bruschetta appetizer, opakapaka with linguine, and tiramisu. Salad adequate, appetizer good, fish was overcooked/rubbery. Had to wait too long in between the appetizer and entree since restaurant was full and understaffed. Noise level from a neighboring table was very high. Community organization dinner remarks were inaudible, and planned entertainment for the evening was not allowed by restaurant owners, due to previous "complaints". The said neighboring table was louder than anyone else, though it was clear the owners didn't care regardless that the community organization dinner has been held at JJ's since he started in Kaimuki. JJ's heyday is a thing of the past- not worth the wait, menu changes, and poor customer relations. read more

Found this place on Yelp and decided to try it out since we loved JJ's pastry before when they were in Waialae. Tiny Pyramid did not disappoint. We ordered the Red Velvet Cheesecake, Pistachio Mousse with cherries, and the duck pate. All were delicious. The red velvet had a very light red velvet flavor and the pistachio mousse was the lightest, fluffiest, airy mousse I had ever had. They also make their duck pate which was great. I was expecting more. It's in a really odd spot and I didn't understand the parking. I sat ourside as most of the seating is there. The service was nice but the chairs are rock hard. I ordered the Fisherman's Potpie. It had great flavor and lovely heat. But this fisherman got skunked. 2 small shrimp, 1/2 ounce of salmon, 2 little clams and one bay scallop cut into two peices. If I put the seafood on a scale it would be hard to get to 2 ounces. $15 with tax and tip $20. Could get better value nearly anywhere. read more

Heard that JJ's Bistro that was on Waialae Avenue in Kaimuki, reopened as Tiny Pyramid off of Nimitz. Wanted to get something special for a friend's birthday. They had a fabulous selection Ordered the chocolate pyramid, lime tarts, citrus taste,lilikoi cheesecake, Black Forest cake, Raspberry tarte. They were all delicious however the Lililoi cheesecake, Black Forest Cake ,the lime tarte and the pyramid are ones I'd get again. Very cute set up. The one star missing is because not everything is edible for the price. The tart had a butterfly that was paper and the decorative white meringue was too sweet and hard. read more

The desserts we tried were the Red Velvet Cheesecake, Lilikoi Cheesecake, Strawberry Cheesecake. All of the cakes were really good and I can't tell you which one I like better cause they are all good in their own way. The service was fantastic, they always refill our water and asked if everything is good. The reason why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 stars is because the prices for the dishes were on the higher end considering how small the cakes were but the quality of the cakes is really good. I've passed by Tjny Pyramid, located in the Ana Lama Kukui Business Center, several times. I always thought it was an Egyptian restaurant. I was pleasantly delighted to find out that they actually serve pastries in addition to other foods. The pastry display was impressive with many different desserts. I would have one of each if I was able to. We tried the lime tart, strawberry shortcake, red velvet and the chocolate pyramids (a must try!). My family's favorite restaurant! Staff members are so friendly and welcoming and menu options are wonderful. This past visit to Tiny Pyramid was during COVID, where they were equipped with hand wipes and had implemented social distancing policies. The four course meal is hard to beat: soup or salad, appetizer, main dish, and dessert. Would recommend the lao roll, baked lobster, and braised duck!!! I came here with my husband. It was our first time in the building for we only went into the building to get out facials over at the Makana Academy a few doors down. It was quiet with several tables outside. The menu was viewable in front of the shop. I, who loves pastries, couldn't help but entering just to check out the desserts. It was like finding gold. I haven't seen such impeccable perfection of handmade desserts in what felt like an eternity. All fruit tarts glazed to give a sheen look. Domed tarts with a mirror glaze finish. Everything looked so inviting. So many flavors and variety to chose from. I could've gone with the Tiny Pyramid. After all, I do enjoy having rich chocolate every once in awhile. But as it being our first time there, I had the urge to try something different. Sadly I cannot remember which one it was for it has been sometime since we were last there. Before I could feed my inner sweet tooth, we took a seat outside within the hallway to have our lunch. I ordered the Khang Lao soup and Veggie Croissant Sandwich with a side salad. The soup was enlightening. It came in a small decorating clay pot. Such warm tones with plenty of various flavors it had. Slight sour taste like tamarind. It reminded me of a soup I had before in which it had contained ingredients with health benefits. The sandwich was well packed with many fresh vegetables. The dressing for the salad was light. After having a facial, it felt right to have something healthy to assist the process of some detoxing. As healthy as I had ate, I couldn't help but treat myself to at least one dessert. As for the servers, they had right away provided us drinks. All tables were kept clean. The water came in a tall glass bottle I have often seen in Europe which was quite a rare sight to see outside of Europe. It was chilled to the right temperature without being overly iced. We were checked up on often to make sure everything was to our liking. Upon ending our meal, they allowed us to go back inside to choose a dessert before ringing up our bill. They were quite patient with us as we tried to figure out what patisserie we wanted. Our desserts were nicely boxed as we decided to take them to go. Great service overall. I hope to return to this place soon one day to try their other foods and pastries. Service is great here although at times can be slow if when they get busy but overall never had bad experience with service. The food on the hand is VERY inconsistent. Half the time (I've been here about a dozen times) veggies may be cold, lamb may be over cooked, zero seasoning, wilted salad, cold mashed potato, watery pasta. But when they get it right then it's a decent meal. I would steer clear from the pizzas and soft shell crab salad. Just trust me with this! read more

So glad this place opened!!! We went to the original location in Kaimuki a few times but mostly had the pastries at home for special celebrations. Funny thing is we came the night before to pick up several desserts for my father-in-law. The next day I knew I needed to carb load no holds barred because an almost carb free several weeks were ahead... needless to say I convinced the husband to have lunch the next day and we were so happy and content with everything we ordered. First off, get the corn soup with crab... don't plan on sharing either because it's that good! Secondly, get the crab blt sandwich because the soft shell crab is delicious, crisp, yet juicy in the middle and generous in size... Third, get the pate choux (shit may have recalled the wrong name) but trust me get it!!! It's 4 triangle huge and generous pieces of phyllo dough wrapped around pate with a nice salad in the middle... it is beyond delicious, crisp, light, and just rich enough that you won't have any leftovers. Fourth, get a few pastries because they all taste divine... my favorite was the fruit basket (shit I don't know what it's called) but it had a hard piped chocolate shell casing with fruit and cream and cake in the middle... beautiful and not too sweet or heavy after a filling meal.
