I have been here so many times I have lost count. The service is phenomenal, everyone is on their top game. They are friendly, super attentive, give great suggestions as to what to try. The coffee they serve is a delight and the baked goods are unbelievable. The coffee cups are beautiful and makes me think of what would be used at a high tea. It does matter when businesses pay attention to details like Little Pyramid. I have decided that I will try everything on their menu. So far I have repeated some of my choices because they were so good. I had hoped to keep it my secret but the word has spread and lately it has gotten busier. That's great for them. I was heartbroken when earlier this year, Jinjie, patisserie of JJ's French Pastries in Kaimuki said he was closing shop. "The rent went up. I cannot survive. My kids growing up too. I think time to retire and enjoy spending time with them." That was the last I heard from him. Then I get a text early this week. "I opened a new restaurant on Nimitz one month ago. I changed the name to Tiny Pyramid. Come by!" When I Googled the address I got, an "oh-oh" went through my head. I know that place. It's got a huge parking lot and it's always empty. The building has very little foot traffic. I was really worried. I entered through the back road and expected to just turn the corner and park. To my (pleasant) surprise, the lot if FULL! I circled twice and finally snagged a spot. As I enter the building, I can see the terrace seats and they're totally occupied! The shop itself is very small. There's a room in the corner that seats maybe a dozen people. There is a register and a refrigerated glass display case with all the familiar pastries I absolutely love! JJ greets me from behind the counter. "Thank you for coming!" As we're shaking hands, I tell him "I thought you was retiring!? It's busier now and your hours are longer!" "I am retired! I work for my boss now!" He says, pointing at his daughter. After chatting a few minutes, I was shown to my seat in the hallway. It's a little late for lunch but still, all the tables are taken. There were two tables open, and we were seated at one of them. I ordered the Lao Pot Pie and instead of chicken, I asked for seafood. My co-worker had the Tuna Wellington, which I'm told was absolutely fabulous! We unfortunately didn't have the room or the time for dessert, but since it's so close to work, I guarantee I'll be back. If you were a fan of JJ Bistro, then you'll be happy to hear about this place. If I heard correctly, it's the daughters restaurant but JJ is still making his dreamy desserts! Remember the rich chocolate pyramid?! You can get it here along with a tiny version too. One great upgrade is the parking. It's located right off of Nimitz Hwy, right across the new Liliha Bakery location. Ample free parking! Enter in the middle of the building and go down the slight ramp. Tiny pyramid is the first store on your left. There are lots of farm tables right outside of the doors or you can choose to eat inside. There's about 4 tables on the right side As soon as you enter. Before you sit down though, take a look at the dessert display! Then you'll know what to look forward to after your meal. :) so many fabulous options, which is why we decided to get a few. Of course I had to get my pyramid. This sensational chocolate fudgy mousse with cocoa powder sprinkled on top. We also got the chocolate mac nut tart and lilikoi cheesecake. The tart was good. Flaky pie crust and a fudgy inside. Now, the cheesecake stole the show. Consistency was on point... not too thick but nice light texture. The lilikoi on top was great. Not sour and not overwhelmingly sweet. For our mains, we got the Laotian pot pie and crossaint sandwich. Both amazing and highly recommend! The pot pie was full of flavor with a little zing in the ragu sauce. It's different from your normal pot pie and it's kind of deconstructed. There's a crust on the bottom but the puff pastry on top is separate. Now, the sandwich, the highlight is of course the croissant! So divine!!! To my surprise, it was pretty full of meat and veggies. Great food and service! We went on the second or third day of opening to celebrate a birthday. We called ahead for a reservation and they had prepared a table outside by the storefront and inside - we chose to go inside and were surrounded by fun, quirky artwork. It was so thoughtful of them to give us the options! We started with a garlic shrimp pizza. Nice pizza that was easy to share with the group. I ordered the Fisherman's Potpie. Love the fusion with the curry sauce in the seafood potpie. We all ordered different items off the menu and they were all hits! Menu has so many options to choose from, from sandwiches to pastas to curries and more! Of course we had to have dessert! I got a pumpkin cheesecake, which was so yummy. Not too dense with a nice pumpkin flavor and pecans on top! We also tried the strawberry shortcake, tiramisu, fruit tart, and the double chocolate macaroon cake. All great! AWESOME Food and GREAT People!!! Our friends from Hawaii took us here for dinner. No sign outside so it's a bit hard to find, just walk into the building at Na Lama Kukui Shopping Center. As you enter, it's right at the entrance. BTW, plenty of free parking. Desserts are as delicious as they are beautiful! We all had the 4 course dinner. What a deal!!! The Corn Chowder with Lobster was yummy, the Baked Lobster is out of this world and I don't usually like lobster. House Special (pasta) was great. A bit spicy but I loved it! Very cute cafe! Ate dinner here and it was nice and relaxing. Had the 4-course prix-fixe menu, which includes a soup or salad, appetizer, entree, and dessert. Had the Asian Classic as my entree, which consists of rice noodles, shrimp, clams, scallops, salmon, mushrooms, and bell peppers in a cream sauce. It was tasty but I think all my friends entrees looked even better. I realized, I probably should have tried their puff pastry entrees, which isn't commonly found in Hawaii. Tiny Pyramid's food was decent but definitely check it out for their delicious and pretty desserts. My Mango-Peach mousse dessert was yummy. I decided to try a this place because of all the great reviews and beautiful pastries. When I came in, the pastries looked beautiful and delicious. I order 2 pastries called Choco Nutella and Le Matcha. They looked so pretty but unfortunately DID NOT taste as good as it looked. The Choco Nutella was too sweet. I've been here twice and they've been pretty decent both times I went. Tiny Pyramid is located on Nimitz between Downtown and Costco in the Na Lama Kukui plaza area on the right (if you're driving from Downtown). There's parking dedicated to the plaza so that's not an issue and you just walk into the area and it's on the left hand side. Very simple and cute, they have seating right outside the cafe and some seating inside, as well as a display case of small cakes and tarts. There's a decent amount of things on the menu and they have separate lunch and dinner menus. The only difference really is that dinner has an extra option to order a set (starter, appetizer, main, dessert of your choice from the display). The first time around I got a set during dinner time and got the cream of corn soup with crab meat, soft shell crab, poached lobster tail and a fruit tart. Definitely would recommend the corn soup and the poached lobster tail! Both were very flavorful. The soft shell crab was okay, I would want to try something else though. The tart was my least favorite just because it was a little difficult to eat, the crust was definitely too hard to cut through and there was nothing really much else to eat from it beside the fruit on top. You're better off trying their varieties of mini cakes. Second time around I tried the Lobster Pad Thai, also very good! Would recommend. It was very orange in color so I was a little worried it would be spicy but.. If you're someone who hates spicy food, don't be alarmed! There's no heat at all to it, also free of peanuts and eggs (unlike most pad thai) so that checks off the nut allergies for people. My brother got the Lamb Wellington and it was a little disappointing since it was way smaller than we thought it would be. Definitely could tell the size difference between our plates. Overall, decent experiences so far, the service was okay but we did wait a decent amount of time which was expected. Would consider coming again! read more

I was so excited to come here after discovering them on instagram!!! i love desserts so this place was right up my alley. The restaurant itself is very small and cute with minimal seating inside. There is a lot more seating outdoors. When my friend and i first got there we were greeted right away and we were welcomed to dine inside. We came at an awkward time where we weren't too sure if we would get the lunch or dinner menu but our server was nice enough to give us both. We started off the soft shelled crab appetizer, it was really good! The only thing was that it was pretty small for the two of us to share. For our entrees my friend got the poached lobster pasta which she loved and i got the tomato cream pasta and i was so happy to find out i could add scallops to it! It was so good, just the right portion. It tasted similar to a tomato bisque with a little spice. i absolutely loved everything about the pasta and couldn't stop raving about it even after we left And lastly of course i have to talk about the desserts! My friend picked out the chocolate pyramid and the lilikoi cheesecake. I couldn't just pick one so i actually picked out 3 to eat right then and there. I have chosen the red velvet, strawberry cheesecake, and the fruit tart. The red velvet was more like a cheesecake which i didn't know but i was pleasantly surprised with it. The strawberry cheesecake was also delicious but i wish it was paired with a strawberry sauce rather than just a fresh strawberry. My favorite was the fruit tart. The fruit tasted very fresh and it wasn't too sweet or heavy. The only thing i would have done differently is not picking out 2 very rich and heavy desserts (the red velvet & strawberry cheesecake) but that was a decision on my part. I've brought my family twice in the last few months. This has gotten to be our favorite place to eat. The staff treats you like their family, the food is not only outstanding and delicious, but the presentation of each dish has a WOW appearance. Definitely makes you want to come back again and again. Former JJ Bistro from Kaimuki had reopened as Tiny Pyramid near Nimitz. There is a big parking lot but is outdoor only, which the car does get hot when is sunny outside. Tiny Pyramid is pretty easy to find and they are all outdoor seating. I recommend making a reservation in advance unless you plan to go at 11. They have a good selection of pastries to choose from: cheesecake/mousse cake/tart. Of course they carry the their famous pyramid chocolate and it comes in a tiny size too (which is so cute!) For desserts we got: tiny chocolate pyramid (the bitter sweetness balance well and it probably made with 70% cocoa); strawberry cheesecake (not recommend, is lacking the creaminess and cheese texture a cheesecake should have); strawberry shortcake (recommend, is the best out of all the desserts we got today); pistachio mousse cake (the cherry is soaked in Brandy, and the mousse has hint of pistachio flavor); Macaron Glaze (not recommend, is suppose to be a chestnut mousse rum, but is lacking the chestnuts flavor); also one more forgot the name, is made with egg white and some filling in between. Food we got: Shrimp Salad; Lao Roll (is like a remix version of Spring Roll, but it comes with curried chicken) refreshing and recommend. The Fisherman's Pot Pie has green curry which the spicy flavor does kick in after a few bite. The puff is super flaky and there are good amount of seafood inside. Service is very attentive and they refilling water quiet often. And price range is reasonable and our total with tips was around ($120) plus two desserts to go. So is very reasonable compare to other places that are expensive and lacking service. And I am super full after all the food and desserts. I would recommend this place and is a nice hang out place with friend or family. Either you looking for a meal or just for a dessert. We've been blessed with so many great food experiences here in Honolulu, and Tiny Pyramid is easily the pinnacle of our outings. We were invited to join our friend Paul for dinner there based on his recommendation. Wow, we had no idea how great it would be. Not only was the Lobster Pad Thai phenomenal, but also the desserts... holy smokes were they top notch! My wife got a peanut butter and chocolate 'bar' that just melts in the mouth. I got a lemon tart that was a perfect balance of tart flavor and sweetness. They have so many choices that we will have to keep coming back to cover all the flavor zones of our palates. I am so glad this place reopened! The original JJ's on Waialae Avenue closed a few years ago, and I was very sad. I'm so glad that his daughter stepped up and brought it back! I love the cafe's new location in Nimitz because parking is super easy, and they also have outdoor seating that is covered. For lunch, I ordered the Fisherman's Pot Pie, a delectable Thai green curry with delicious bites of seafood, including scallop, salmon, and more, with zucchini, egg plant, and red bell pepper, all topped off with an extra buttery puff pastry. (If you're not a fan of spicy, I would not recommend this. I love spicy food, but even this was a bit much for me.) And don't forget to leave room for dessert! TINY PYRAMID, BIG FLAVOR I was recommended to Tiny Pyramid after having a friends birthday cake! Due to the covid situation this was the first time experiencing a new place in a long time! So why am I giving them five stars? Well, this may be the first time I have ever seen my mother not share cake... she is 79 years old and always leaves some for me... Not this time!!! She ate it all! I woke up the next day hoping to find some fruit tart, or maybe a blueberry tart waiting for me but no... mother cleaned house. Well done Tiny Pyramid, well done. I was able to enjoy an early lunch here. I ate my food in the outside seating area where they also do table service and give you your own bottle of filtered water. I ordered the creamed corn soup and Tuna Wellington. I did not care too much for the soup, but I must say the Tuna Wellington was delicious. It was a puff (flaky) pastry stuffed with tuna and crab meat accompanied with a well-dressed salad. I enjoyed it very much and the portion was fulfilling. I will def. return for another bite of it. After I ate my lunch, I purchased dessert to go. I bought 2 tiny pyramids (dark chocolate) and an Azuki Haupia Cake. The AZUKI HAUPIA CAKE tastes as good as it looks and sounds. I loved it. I love this place. I love the people here. I love the food they serve and the friendliness they have. You can see them smile even when they're wearing a mask. The desserts are my favorite part but their dinner is also great. I recommend it if you want a quieter dinner where you can actually talk to your date. I love them so much. I followed them from their last place on Waialae. If this place ever closes then things are gonna get dark for me real fast. Jesus, I don't wanna live in a world where I can't get a chocolate raspberry pyramid cake for my kid's birthday. Sometimes, I get real sad and the only thing that keeps me from walking out into the ocean is an apricot tart that I can eat in the parking lot like an animal.
