Chicken pesto sandwich & falafel salad
    Julie C.

Food - 4/5 We ordered the chicken pesto sandwich and the falafel salad, both were pretty good. The salad came with hummus, 2 pieces of bread that was really hard, like croutons, and turmeric (?) dressing. Service - 5/5 Good service! Ambiance - 4/5 Chill cafe with a few tables inside and outside.

First time at this location. Parking sucks... this one way loop around the building situation that they have going on here is cumbersome. As for the service and food, I think it's a bit pricey. The meatball banh mi tasted mushy this go around. I usually love this banh mi but this location had it too mushy. The fries were hot and delicious. It's all ala crate here so the total came out to be about $25 for a sandwich and fries and drink.

Always da friendliest service, great selection of the freshest baked goods. Delicious sweet treats that delight your deepest desires for that special chocolate covered or cream filled bun, cake or tart. Organic French Rolls that make the perfect sandwich! Always my second stop after browsing next door at the 5-11 shop that has the ultimate ambiance of special travel clothing. Four Fabulous Stars for Quality, Freshness, Friendly Aloha and that fresh taste of oven ready bread.

    Kouign Amann Variety

Embarrassing, I reviewed the wrong restaurant, Tous Les Jours. La Tour Cafe on the Nimitz is the correct one. On one of our trips to Hawaii we tried the pastries at Tous Les Jours. The Apple Pie Kouign-amnan is one of the better ones we have tasted. The other kouign-amnans are good but nowhere near the Apple Kouign-Amman. We tried the Apple Pie, mochi and crème brûlée ones but the Apple Pie was the best. It has a good amount of apple topping, little crispy too, soft on the inside and chewy. An excellent kouign-amman and a very good price point. B Patisserie inside the Kona Coffee Purveyor shop in the International Marketplace has pretty good kouign-ammans but at a very high price point. La Tour Cafe isn't in a convenient location but worth a trip to pick-up some pastries for a few days. We didn't buy any sandwiches this trip but we did try a meatless meatball sandwich on a prior trip. The sandwiches are worth a try too.

Review is for the Large Strawberry Melon Mint Julep and macaron deal for $10.99 and the Mishap Macarons deal. Ever since Yelp Elite All Star buddy Donna O. introduced me to the mint julep drink here at La Tour Cafe... well I've been a fan. Now there's a new twist called the Strawberry Melon Mint Julep drink. The La Tour Cafe Strawberry Melon Mint Julep is made with watermelon syrup, strawberry puree, mint water, and a splash of lychee lemonade, and is served over crushed ice. It's a bit on the sweet side for me, so I mix in seltzer water. Very refreshing on a warm day. The combo includes a macaron. I ordered the chocolate haupia but I was given just the haupia one. Correction: I did receive the haupia chocolate macaron. My mistake! When I bit into it, I saw and tasted the chocolate! It was not visible from the outside! My bad. After my order, I observed a sign for Misfit Macarons at 6 for $12 plus tax. It's a blind box, so you don't get to choose your flavors. Cute promotion so I fell for it! FYI, this is a no cash business. Credit card only.

    Chicken Pesto Panini

Cute little cafe with a variety of desserts and sandwiches. I went with the Chicken Pesto panini ($15) which was toasted perfectly. Simple but delicious. I'd definitely come back and try some other sandwiches on the menu. Service was fast as well.

    Chicken shawarma sandwich

Delicious sandwiches and burgers! We ordered a single teriyaki wagyu smash burger and the chicken shawarma sandwich. Both bursting with flavor! Picture of the burger doesn't do it justice. Comes with lettuce, tomato, onion, and lots of Teri sauce. My husband said he liked the burger better. The chicken shawarma might be a little bit on the dry side with the hummus and chicken breast, but still tasted great. More sauce may fix this. Garlic fries were bomb. Their Swiss dressing is also sooo good. Previously trips we've tried eggplant Parmesan (great flavor, a little thin), bbq brisket bahn mi (delicious!). Plan your trip now. Their food is amazing!

There are many positives to this restaurant but also negatives. There is great free ample parking. Convenient place to eat after shopping at Best Buy or Home Depot. There is a special deal where if u buy a drink then u can get a macaroon for $2. The cashier forgot and I would have been overcharged if I did not double check the display. The restroom was really dirty with discarded paper towels/toilet paper on thewindows. It seemed the bathroom was not cleaned for days. The food was delicious and there are many tables and chairs by the window.

I like La Tour Cafe but this isn't my favorite location. When I was in college, I'd eat the paninis on campus, and after college, I'd still eat the paninis at the other locations! Living here, I felt like this La Tour always lacked with their food. I didn't try their food this time, but Donna O. was so kind taking my Dad and me! This La Tour is spacious with lots of seating for pairs and small groups. You can order at the front where they also have a display case of their well-known macarons. You can get your food after being called. Service is fine, not much contact aside from offering with workers. I've tried many things at La Tour Cafe. My heart has a soft spot for their paninis but I've always enjoyed their macarons and other pastries in the past. This time around, my friend treated us to the Mint Water! I've always seen her drink it and was curious and I can see why she loves it, it's so refreshing! La Tour Cafe is a well-known local chain around the island. Thank you Donna O. for the drink and for reliving my nostalgia haha. This is one of their bigger locations off Nimitz with free parking in the lot.

Had lunch next-door and decided to stop by La Tour Cafe. Went inside and picked up some of their delicious Butter Mochi Kouign Amann. Still an amazing tasty treat. Yumm!

    "Pho"ggie, garlic fries, julip, lemonade
    Nicole O.

I've been here a few times but I always forget to snap a picture because the food is too good to wait! I've tried their hamburgers, salads, macaroons, caramel brûlée puffs...just about everything and it's never a miss. I actually don't really like macaroons either but theirs are SO FLIPPING AMAZING! And the bread on the "pho"ggie just makes the whole sandwich. The garlic fries are GARLICKY. I love it all! Sometimes the ordering staff isn't the friendliest, but never rude. There's usually seating at the tables, it's a comfortable environment, and we can always find a nearby parking. I am ALWAYS down to visit this place and will forever be a return customer.

The Kouign Amanns here are so delicious and their teriyaki burger is worth the drive for every time we visit the island! Plenty of seating and very chill vibe at this location.

Definitely was NOT expecting the flavor coming from the sandwiches!! Outside, there was a flyer advertising the Char Siu BLT and it sounded unique, so we ordered that along with the BBQ Brisket Bahn Mi paired with the Lychee Lemonade and a Crème Brûlée Kougin for dessert . With zero expectations, the flavor of the sandwiches alone are enough for us to make a second trip. Walking in, we walked up to the counter and were warmly greeted. There's plenty of seating for a single person or a group of people. There wasn't any music playing in the seating area, but there was some pouring through the kitchen opening. That coupled with the awesome energy the staff give off, it's good vibes coming in here. If youre looking for some quick, flavorful eats, this is your place!

They even text you a receipt as proof of purchase for the day that you pick it up. Since the eyes eats first :) This Chocolate cake is oh so pretty! It has some height to it and they show you the name plate (correct spelling) before they carefully place it into a special box with a window. The chocolate frosting is smooth all around. They delicately placed yummy chocolate candies along the top, strategically placed sprinkles along the bottom edge, and then hand crafted the special Happy Birthday name plate in gold. Now for the taste.... I would have to agree with the other reviews that said the cake was a bit dry or crumbly. It has the texture of something vegan without egg, fat, nor butter. I was trying to figure out if it was the type of flour they used. Perhaps it's just their style of cake? Like I mentioned earlier, the frosting is smooth. Maybe that's where all the butter or fat content is? I would have liked the cake layers to be a little more moist, but...when eaten together with the frosting it balanced out. Great service, cute treats, I'd come back to try other items...

I was too full at the moment to order more food, but I returned on my last evening in Oahu to order a slice of rainbow cake for myself. It was somewhat early in the evening -- probably around 6PM or so -- so the Royal Hawaiian Center food court was getting a little busy but there were still empty tables around. The bakery itself had a few people in line so I perused the display case for other desserts. They had quite a few interesting ones: lilikoi basque cheesecake, Diamond Head puff custard, ube cake. Unfortunately, my appetite is much smaller than it once was, but the cakes looked delicious and the people in front of me all ordered their cakes ahead of time, so they are quite in demand! The cashier took my order quickly and I was able to get a slice of rainbow cake, which had fluffy cream and moist layers of colorful cake. The flavor reminded me of fruity pebbles, but without being overly sweet the way children's cereal used to be. I really liked eating it because it didn't make me feel guilty eating a dessert. I hope I can return to Kulu Kulu sometime and try their other desserts a well!

The mango panna cotta was my second favorite which included the mango bits on top - a nice touch - and the cream nice and rich. Lemon tart had an odd taste to it. Should have went with the mush peach tart that didn't look as appetizing but probably better. The macarons were my least favorite especially the yuzu and passion fruit flavors that didn't taste anything like those fruits. For $2.50 I wish they were better and not as dry.
