Really really good food.. great service and staff is awesome just the portions are quite small for the price, normally find myself purchasing two items to get a full meal read more

One star for only the food being excellent. But other than that They serve your food on paper plates You order your food at the register and get your food at the register. They serve your drinks in paper cups. You throw away your trash in a really big trash bin. You can't miss it. Dine-In Restaurant turned into a fast food joint, literally. I ordered the Beef Pad See Ew and there was literally about 3-4 pieces of beef. Don't get me wrong. The noodles were excellent but come on. And the egg that was mixed in there was burnt. read more

I work nearby and eat here often. The food is consistently fantastic! Service is always good and they are very nice and courteous. The chicken fried rice with Thai chilis added is amazing, keep up the good work. read more

We had 2/3 good dishes. The chicken fried rice was excellent. Hot, fresh, and great flavor. The stir fried veggies was also pretty good, the sauce was tasty. We were a little Disappointed to say the least. We added eggplant to our drunken noodle and the eggplant was not cooked! The drunken noodle was very dark and we felt like it was over spiced and the noodles were very dry. We also did not appreciate the 18% service fee that is tacked on no matter the size of your party. read more

I haven't been disappointed like this in some time. Let's start with the service, just plain trash. I'm not sure if it's because the place was busy and they were under staffed but man were the people there unhelpful. If you don't get everything you need the first go around, you're in for a wait. And when you do there is a short male that if he can't reach you basically throws your food and beverages at you. I had to order water three separate times before I finally got it. The next thing that was unsatisfactory was when it came time to pay. I gave the waitress my debit card and had to wait for ten minutes, since I was on lunch I got up walked to the counter to retrieve my card and had to wait another 3 minutes. Next order of business is the food. I ordered the beef pad kee ew which was ok, but nothing to rave about. I wanted it extra spicy and even a child could handle their "extra spicy". Which to me means there was no spice in it at all. Then worst of all I had egg shells in my food SMH. I guess the only reason I say it was decent, is for the fact that it was palatable. All in all poor experience. The only upside to this was one waiter, I didn't catch his name but he was tall and slender. He was very nice and helpful. So if you do brave this place after my review look for him. read more

Tin Thai Kitchen - Is this a racist native American picture? - Thai Near Me - Livermore, California

Always the best Thai food in the Bay Area, we drove all the way from Fremont to Livermore to just eat their Icon Thai street dish.

Owner always there and always friendly! I always get the chicken Sapparod, it is AMAZING!

All the food Ive tried here is delicious. My fave is the special pumpkin chicken curry. Mouth watering. Friendly staff. Fast service.

Great service and delicious food! The shopping center where it's located is very busy M-F at lunchtime so plan accordingly.

3.5 Stars and I've been here a few times now... The list of thing's I've tried: Moo Ping - Grilled pork skewer with spicy tamarind sauce - I was expecting this to be packed with flavor but it was pretty bland. Pork Panang - Pork with kaffir lime leaf, string beans, coconut milk and spice - it was good but I've tasted better. Served with rice. Drunken Noodle Chicken - I tried this based on fellow yelpers saying this dish had some heat...however I was fairly disappointed, it was no where nearly as spicy as I thought it would be, however I liked the overall dish and flavors. The noodles were a tad on the greasy side. Gra Prow Kai Dow - Minced chicken dish with yummy flavors, not too spicy and served with rice. They serve it with a fried egg on top which I always ask them to remove and they oblige. Thai Ice Tea - Super sweet, cold and refreshing. Overall the food and service are okay. I don't like the ambience since seating is limited and cramped. Good place to grab lunch if you are in the area and like Thai food. read more

First of all you have to pay to eat here, regardless if you dine or eat outside the restaurant. They give you a service charge. Didn't even taste the food yet but will not ever come back again. The lady is very rude. If I can give stars I would read more

I noticed a new Thai place opened up next to where I work once a month. The smell of thai food was getting to me and it was around lunch time, so I figured that I would go over and try it out and post this new business up on Yelp. This review is only for what I ordered, not the decor, service, etc. May I Take Your Order Shrimp Pad Thai (spicy) - $7.00 to go Cost me a total of $7.68 out the door. It's All About the Food I usually don't order Pad thai because it's the most common thing to order, but I had been craving it and decided to get it. The Shrimp Pad Thai was flavorful and the spicyness level was just right for my taste. I tend to like my Thai food spicy, and I love it when the food actually is spicy when you ask for spicy. It had a sweetness to it, like all pad thais should have and the ratio of bean sprouts, shrimp, tofu, and egg to noodles was just right. It came with 5 pieces of shrimp and they were a good size as well. The owner looks Thai, but not all the cashiers are Thai either. No pictures of the King of Thailand either, but it does have a homey feel to it. I will definitely stop by and order a different dish and dine-in the next time I'm in the area for work. read more

This restaurant just opened in Livermore, and I'm so glad it did! There is no Thai restaurant in the general area, so it's a great addition. The menu is really affordable for Thai food and the food is authentic. According to the owner, Tin Thai Kitchen started in New York City "to bring quality authentic Thai food." This is the first Tin Thai Kitchen in California, and it lives up to its original mission. I ordered the chicken sate ($5) which was served with peanut sauce. I also ordered the chicken green curry (it came with rice) from the lunch menu for $6.50. I also had a Thai Iced Tea which was $2.50 and came in a cute jar. The atmosphere was casual and the decor was tasteful, like a Thailand version of vintage and chic. The presentation of the food is detailed and thought out. The service was very quick and the servers were kind and attentive. This is probably going to be my new go-to Thai restaurant, and I highly recommend it! read more

O M G - I was so satisfied with this meal. This could possibly be the best Thai restaurant I've ever been to. Servers is A+. Our server Ryan was helpful and funny. Even before I tasted my food, I wanted to give this place 5 stars just because of the quality of their service. I ordered the Gra Prow Kai Dow - it was AMAZING and flavorful. I want another one right now as I'm writing this review. It's pretty spicy but just the perfect amount of spice for my liking. The green beans were crunchy. THE FRIED EGG WAS BOMB. Cooked perfectly and goes so well with the minced chicken and rice. read more

Tin Thai is great, always delicious and fresh food! The owner is very nice and after a few visits will remember you. Outdated reviews shine a negative light on Tin Thai, but much of what is mentioned I have never witnessed here. And sure, you can always find something wrong with food that is packaged to go, that is the risk you take getting food to go from a restaurant! Onto the food: I have never tried a dish from Tin Thai that I didn't like, sometimes I will just order randomly and am always pleasantly surprised. Some favorites are the chicken drunken noodles, which is a medium on the spicy scale, very filling. The gra prow kai dow is great if you are a spice lover, will give you the kick you need! Recently tried the duck noodle which was also great! Spring rolls are always my favorite appetizer, nice and crispy and the sweet chili dipping sauce is awesome! Can't say enough good things! Give it a shot. They only have one line on the phone, so if you can't get through right away, just wait a minute or 2 and try again, they're always happy to take your order in advance. read more

I cringe at writing this, because I'm afraid that people will find my secret spot! This charming eatery is in an unsuspecting strip mall behind a 7-11. Excited yet? Well.....you should be. 1st: If you are looking for a week spot, or a late night snack this is NOT for you. 2nd: If you have a hankering for some seriously delicious Thai food during the week, before 8:00 pm, this is a little slice of yum. NOT OPEN ON WEEKENDS. CLOSES AT 8:00 PM Mon- Fri. Location: A little funky, not super easy to find, but if you see the 7-11, and the little strip mall right behind it, you're in the right spot. Service: Friendly, warm and fun. Service has always been quick. Food: SO TASTY! I haven't danced around the menu much, only because the couple of items that I tried were so delish that I can't imagine not ordering them! My favorites are: Drunken Noodle (Pad Kee Mao): Tender strips of chicken breast, tossed with wide rice noodles and veggies in a sweet, spicy, basil sauce. (I'm drooling so hard typing this). Another favorite is the Gra Prow Kai Dow. It's a dish of rice, covered with a very spicy ground chicken and green beans in a basil sauce...all topped with a fried egg. WARNING: This one defaults as a *** on the spice level. If you can't hang....ask for them to prepare is as mild or even a two star heat. If you still have an appetite, and you're not alone, and your mouth is on fire from the Thai chilis AND they happen to have the Sticky Rice with Mango for dessert....TREAT YO SELF. read more

Food and ambience was good but the service... well, let's call it RACIAL PROFILING. When we got there, we sat down, as there was no sign that said "wait to be seated". And the waitress immediately told us that we had to get up and pay for our order at the front before we could eat. We agreed without hesitation. However, after lunch and on our way out we noticed other tables (not of color) were receiving their receipts at their tables. Well, looked like racial profiling to us: Just in case "we could not afford our meals between both families" I guess it's better for business to have us pay upfront? This must have happened because we were TWO BLACK FEMALES with FOUR children. Well turns out we did have money for our meals (and a lot more where that came from) BUT we won't be spending any of our money, or our family's money here in the future. There's other Thai restaurants out there that treat us with more respect as paying customers, and whose service makes us feel welcomed and comfortable. Yeah, no thanks. read more

Despite the cute decor and fast service, I was pretty disappointed in Tin Thai. I heard from coworkers that they have great green curry but when I saw the shrimp pad thai I had to try that out instead. Perhaps I should have listened to everyone else because my lunch left something to be desired: only 3 shrimp, soggy noodles, and zero flavor-- I was so sad!! I'll go back just to try to curry and check out the cute wait staff but based off my first experience, it's gonna have to be some stellar curry to make me a fan. read more

I'm happy the management listened to a lot of the feedback given to their new service system, and I think they've found something that works much better than it did before. During lunch, you order at the counter and somebody brings out your food to you; dinner is full service as it was several years ago before they made the changes. Food is delicious as always. I've been coming here since middle school and always make sure to stop here when I'm spending time with my parents. There isn't a single dish here that has disappointed, but I'm personally very partial to the Amber Shrimp. My dad, who usually doesn't like Thai food but loves anything spicy, was won over by their Gai Prig Khing, which he called some of the spiciest food he's ever had. When they initially changed the service system, my guess is they sold or gave away their tableware in favor of single use cutlery (booo), and since adjusting the model have tried to go back to reusable items. So much better. I'm hoping they'll also make the switch to paper straws soon. All in all an enjoyable experience. read more

We've always found the lunch portions very generous and the food piping hot. Enjoyed gra prow kai dow and curry but our favorite is pad see ew. Today I went there with my friend for lunch. (Dine in) We ordered our food in the front desk. While we were waiting for our food, we noticed that there are a lot of funny signs in the store, and the decoration is nice and special too. We got chicken sate, shrimp lemongrass soup, Gra Prow Kai Dow, shrimp pad thai, Thai iced coffee. Chicken sate is really tender and juicy. The shrimp lemongrass soup has a strong flavor and the ingredients are really fresh. My favorite thing today was Gra Prow Kai Dow which is minced chicken with basil over rice. There are also bell peppers and green beans in it. It's really TASTY and not too spicy(which fits me well) Shrimp Pad thai is semi savory and sweet. The bean sprouts give the noodle a crunchy texture! A pretty good rice noodle cuisine! Thai iced coffee is a good one and not too sweet which is just right there. Nice staff and good atmosphere! Will be back next time! read more

This review is geared specifically towards their service. I've been coming here for years and the food is always good. Today i was in to grab a lunch phone order and someone I've not seen working before was at the counter. There were several people inside, all reviewing menus and not ready to order. I could see my order sitting ready on the counter, so i approached and said i was here to pick it up. She completely ignores me (i.e doesn't even turn her head to acknowledge me), and a minute later starts taking the orders of the other people ahead of me. Whatever, fair is fair. I get to the front and pay for my to go order. She's pilot checking me out and i left a 10$ tip in the tip jar for my 46$ meal. My friend and i opened the food and began to eat at one of the tables on the patio, and halfway though our meal, with multiple dishes open, the lady comes outside and tells us that they don't allow to go orders to eat on the patio. I asked if we could quickly finish our meal,to which she replied no, pack it up and leave. I come here often and always tip 20-30%. There were NO other people on the patio eating and nobody was waiting to sit. Maybe I'm crazy but i was super super off put by the entire experience. read more

I order Tin Thai 3 ways.. Door Dash, Pick up and Dine in...Each way is wonderful! Perhaps they have changed their dine in policy, but last week my daughter and I came in and the nicest lady served us. Food was amazing and fresh. I just love the quality of ingredients. We usually go for Chicken Sate for the kids, love the fried spring rolls, Tom Kha Gai, Drunken Chicken Noodle, Spicy Basil Beef.. Honestly you can't go wrong with anything you try. Solid Thai food, that delivers consistently no matter how we order it. read more

Came here for lunch and had the special which was grilled salmon for $12. Great deal. it was pretty good portions. never had salmon this way before, it was in a mildly spicy sauce that had some light curry flavor. The food was very good. I normally don't like Thai too much. But I like the food today. The place is kinda cramped Not much room to move around. pretty much a hole in a wall kind of a place. it was pretty packed though for lunch. I would come back here to try all the noodle dishes. There is way more options than just curry. read more

I was visiting california and wasn't expecting this place in a small town called 'livemore', which is right off the highway exit. Usually when i go to a thai restaurant they have traditional ambiance and the staff are from asia but this was different it was cozy, all people working there were americans, was different. Let's talk about the food now. I ordered chicken satay and basil fried rice. The chicken satay came in small size on the skewers with a peanut sauce (which was a little sweet) but the satay tasted good. The fried rice was very good with right amount of spice. I would recommend this place! I didn't give 5 star as i had to wait too long to pay for the food and no one was even considering to take the bill. Had to go to the counter to pay. Overall it's a nice place. Could be crowded during lunch time. read more

Love the food here. Flavor, flavor, flavor! Mouth-watering flavorful food. We had the chicken Sate with peanut sauce - great starter and the chicken was prepared in a delicious marinade that provided such a great pairing with the peanut sauce. What can we say? Try it, you'll like it! We also had the chicken Larb aka lettuce wraps. Those were excellent. I can't tell all the seasonings in there, but they sure are addicting! For out main courses we had Spicy Basil Beef and Ginger Shrimp. I asked them to spice up the Ginger Shrimp, and they did!!!! Both were excellent. Crisp vegetables, delicately prepared meats, just the perfect spicy--ness of hot to make your eyes water and ... Bring a Kleenex or two or three! They are open during the week. Not weekends. This review is about their To-Go packaging. I was visiting the area and heard they had good food so I stopped by for a pick up. It was in a small paper bag. What I found out later was my veggies and sauce were in a flipsy tin with a plastic lid. They had placed cardboard on the bottom of the bag; which tells me they are aware there is a problem. When I picked up the bag, juice from my meal and softened the entire bottom of the bag, making it rip. The tin was so flimsy that the entire meal opened and spilled all over my car. I want to be clear, I did not tip the bag over. The packaging leaked and now I have food and sauce all over my car. I'm so mad that I can't enjoy the food. Now I need to find a car cleaning service. read more

I visited SF with a couple of friends and decided to stop by Livermore on out way back. I yelped places to eat by rating and came across this place. First walking in, I noticed the atmosphere was very cool and laid back. Most of the tables were filled & the decorations were very vintagey-western--I loved it. The waiter sat us down and we ordered spicy need salad, tom yum soup, & garlic shrimp. After we ordered, our waters came in jars which added to the vintage look. After about 5-10 minutes, our order came and I have to say that the food here is a m a z i n g. We split the food and everyone tasted a bit of everything. The spicy beef salad (with lime that I requested) was fresh and made with quality greens. So unlike LA Thai places that give you iceberg lettuce and unseasoned meat. The tom yum soup had a lot of shrimp and it was fresh as if right out of the water. Lastly, the garlic chicken had a lot of colorful vegetables that were cooked to perfection. To sum it all up; I would recommend this place. Everything is fresh and tasteful. The only thing that was a con about this place was the slow paced waiters. But they were kind and helpful. 5 stars! read more
