I was visiting the town and this time we went inside to eat. It was around noon and it was packed all the tables. But no line to order so we checked at the menu on the wall and choose what we want but at the time we reach the cashier and make our order she informed us that the wall menu it wasn't updated that they remove so many items from the menu and coincidentally was the item we want to ordered. So now they don't have anymore the vegetarian options bagel that it was really good. Also they remove a Monique coffee that I used to buy too. So we need to change our options. And the mango smoothie was a disappointment because it wasn't made with real fruit it was just a syrup with ice. Also when they serve our food they didn't let us know that the drink we have to pick it up they don't deliver to the table and also no napkins. read more

I work out in the gray area between Bakersfield and Shafter and there aren't many options for lunch. When Tin Cup Coffee opened on Lerdo Hwy. I thought it was a nice addition to the area considering there isn't much like it nearby. I started coming here years ago after they first opened and found they are so much more than just a coffee shop. They a good breakfast selection and their lunch options were a pleasant surprise. So years later I realized I have never given them a review. Today I called in an order and got the Santa Fe chicken salad which was delish! The only warning I have is that it comes with a spicy chipotle ranch which is definitely a spicy kick. I personally love it but those that are sensitive to spicy may want to change their dressing to one of their other options. Everyone who works here is friendly and helpful and the establishment is always super clean. And I always get an iced tea because it tastes fresh everytime! My personal favorite is the peach iced tea. If you like soup they have a daily schedule and some of their soups sell out quickly so put your order in early. I haven't had their soup for awhile but I know their loaded potato and chili always go quickly from past ordering. And can't forget about their coffee selections, hot or iced, always good. read more

I have been to Tin Cup a few times now and tried quite a bit of stuff. This is a true cafe feel where there is plenty of seating to hang and get work done if needed or hang out with friends while you enjoy your order. It has a bit of a western theme to it. The bathrooms are always clean. The changing table is a little tricky to use and put back up, but it was custom which fit the decor and was pretty cool! I would say the drinks are my favorite part along with the lunch options overall. I've tried a sandwich that was delicious as well as some cold brews, lattes, and iced tea. My favorite drinks are the coffee style ones because they are smooth and flavorful. I have had the opportunity to try a few pastries and they are just not quite right, in my opinion. Very heavy handed on the buttery/greasey side and then the texture gets ruined for me by that, especially when it comes to the cronut but I've felt the same about other pastries too. Now the thing that is absolutely top notch about this place is the customer service! They've always been so helpful and friendly every visit, but most recently this past month I drove here from Bakersfield and forgot my wallet. I ordered not knowing that, and when it was time to pay I had nothing but my phone and couldn't figure out my Google wallet. I had my baby with me and it had been a really long morning. I was really starting to panic but mentioned I had PayPal and could maybe pay that way. The register isn't set up for that, but she happened to have PayPal and told me if I transferred her the payment she would make it for me. Holy cow, above and beyond her job duties and totally made my day. I could have cried! These ladies are seriously just so kind and I love that. This is cute little coffee place in Shafter that I never knew as there! There is a drive thru option for convenience which is a plus. I opted to walk in and the place is quite big for a coffee shop. I ordered a sugar free vanilla caramel latte ( They have sugar free syrup options which is also a plus). I also ordered a turkey and provolone croissant sandwich. Both were really good. It had lots of seating and is a great place to meet fiends for coffee, and breakfast or enjoy some great lunch! I really enjoyed the atmosphere, and the people working were so nice! I have been to Tin Cup before in the drive-thru, but this weekend I decided to come here for a sit down lunch and explore the menu a little more. Its a short, but pleasant, drive from Bakersfield and really easy to find! The restaurant was fairly large and very well maintained. They have a surprisingly extensive menu for being a "coffee" place! The staff were all absolute sweethearts and were very patient with us when we took a long time to place our order.. bless their hearts for *very patiently* waiting on my indecisive 13 year old and 3 year old to each finally decide what they wanted to eat lol My littlest kiddo was sad to learn that the mac and cheese was discontinued, but she was happy to try the strawberry cronut! (Again, we hadn't been here for food before, but I looked ahead at the menu and mentioned to her that they had mac n cheese lol... my mistake! Moral of this story -- don't mention the mac and cheese to your kids lol.) I have a nut allergy, but I really wanted to try the Berry Salad. The staff assured me that all menu items are made to order so it would be no problem for them to make my salad without nuts! I liked that they were so knowledgeable about the items on the menu and were able to help me ensure I didn't accidently ingest any nuts. The drinks that my kids got were delicious! I ordered a keto breakfast bowl and a drink after seeing an ad for them on Facebook. The keto breakfast bowl comes with two types of protein, and I specifically requested bacon only because I didn't feel like having a second one. My order came out nothing like what's pictured. The eggs are burnt on the bottom and overcooked, the bacon is obviously bacon crumbles intended for a Cobb salad instead of actual bacon. And not only that, the bacon was piled on this thing about a half an inch deep. I like bacon when it's breakfast style, not thrown on top of eggs to hide the fact that they're burnt. Also, in less than a five minute drive back to my job site, my food is cold enough that I had to microwave it. And instead of being served in a bowl, like pictured, it's in a plastic to go container that doesn't keep any heat. This is awful and I paid for it. The quality of food here has been on the decline for quite some time, and I'm really sad to see that the Tin Cup that I knew and appreciated is no more. read more

Good coffee is what they claim to serve but on our visit they get a F+ in that department. The drip coffee wasn't good. Not warm enough and sour. Maybe because the coffee beans are not freshly grinded in house. Many items on the menu were not available. A veggie sandwich we ordered tasted very bland. Restaurant interior was not clean. Most of the floor was dirty and ALL light fixtures were completely covered in dust. Early work morning sent me to Shafter and I was struggling from lack of sleep and being up too early. Dropped by for a pick me up to get me through the day. I opted for a large red eye coffee and a chorizo breakfast burrito and it turned out to be one of my best decisions of the day. The red eye was delicious, great coffee for the price and the breakfast burrito was a big hit. It was packed full of chorizo, eggs, hash brown and cheese. No wonder this place is having a hard time keeping its doors open. Who opens at 7 am on the weekday and 7:30 on a Saturday. Needless to say closed on Sunday. You need to be open when your customers need you to be open so it makes sense for them to come. In a town where majority of people have to commute to Bakersfield for work and have at least a 30 minute drive and the service is slow, who is going to waste their time being late to work?! Completely impractical. The customer service is severely lacking. The employees are rude and cold, and pay no mind to customers waiting. My sister in law has told me about this place and how great it is, but every time we passed by it was on a Sunday, which is closed. I drove to Shafter JUST to try this place out, it looks very neat and clean from outside. The first time I tried this tried their matcha which I was not much of a fan as it tasted like plain milk. The second time, I had a bagel with sprouts, avocado and crème cheese and it was pretty good, I would say I'd add bacon next time but it was very yummy. I also tried their chai tea and I fell in love with it. I have not gone back to Starbucks chai ever since, it honestly changed my life .
