New to the area so I thought I would try the pizza. I will spread the word not to try. Pizza was burnt, couldn't taste the pizza from the burntness, the atmosphere was okay until I heard customers talking to the owner, who I think was Steve causing up a storm. bleh! I was so excited to try Tim's Pizza for date night and was terribly dissappointed. Maybe my expectations were too high but it was selfserve (rude boys need help with their customer service), cold atmosphere and over priced. To start we order the cheese bread and a pitcher of beer. The beer was good! but the cheese bread was toast with what looked like shredded mozz on top. We choose the House Special Pizza which turned out to have fresh and crisp ingredients but the crust was burnt. After a mutual glance we paid (cash only) and went home. I only have this place one lonely star because the guy who greeted me was super nice. It's not his policy to not accept debit cards or credit cards. When he said the words,"We only take cash or CHECKS," I felt like I was I teleported back in time when old men read papers at the table and everyone was smoking inside. I almost couldn't believe that in this day and age a restaurant that wants to make money would refuse anyone who wants to give them that just because they don't want to pay a minimal fee to have debit card access at their establishment. Not only that, they tell you that you can go "to the ConocoPhillips" and use their ATM. I had read good things about this place and I was very hungry and disappointed when I had to walk out of here with a family who wanted to have some good pizza. I guess next time I'll bring my 93-year-old Grandma with me because I'm pretty sure she always carries her checkbook... read more

Awesome pizza every time. Been coming to this pizza place for 12 years. It is consistently good. Perfect crust with a crisp bottom and pillow of good chewy on top with the right amount of spicy sauce and just enough cheese. Piled high with the other toppings. Tip about cash or check is good advice. Been that way for years. Not likely to change any time soon. The owners are super nice. And the staff is courteous. This isn't a super fancy pizza parlor. There isn't table side service but they bring your pizza to you after you order at the counter. it is seriously good pizza and in the top 5 in KC metro in my book. read more

After many recommendations I finally tried Tim's pizza. Ordered a small canadian bacon and black olive to go. Loved it. Reminded me of Fun House pizza back in the old days when it was really good. Tim's piled on the ingredients heavily as well as the cheese. Tons of olives and bacon. The crust was fantastic and crunchy the way I like it. The small was actually almost the size as a medium. This place only accepts cash or checks. As for the pizza we ordered a hand tossed large with 4 toppings. It took 45 minutes to get the pizza, and they were not very busy. The pizza crust was way too hard for hand tossed, the sauce was only mediocre to poor, as were the toppings. Have had better from most gas stations. Also when you see the prep area like I did most health department inspectors would give a serious write up as the entire prep area was a mess and had not been cleaned in a while. I love Tim's... the pizza,the ambiance, everything about this place. I am no pizza snob, but I know what I like. Every pie is hand made, never quite the same, and thank god! Peopel have crriticized this place for its decor, but I don't eat decor, I eat pizza. The place is clean, and friendly, if not overly attentive. Everyone has their favorite pizza. I suppose some of Tim's varieties are good. The real problem with Tim's is customer service and ambience. I ate there at lunch on a Friday--not crowded, in fact, I was the only customer. The fellow behind the bar was an adult. He didn't greet me; he didn't give off anything positive; he didn't seem like he particularly cared. When I ordered a mini cheese with extra cheese he gave me a slightly surprise look, but didn't say anything. Turns out there was so much cheese (white & yellow) on it I am sure I clogged every artery I had and for hours afterwards I felt weighted down and greasy. Perhaps that's why he looked surprised. It would've been nice if he had warned me there would be A LOT of cheese (I'm a new customer-I didn't know). I don't like it when mini pizzas are priced according to how many toppings. For the price of one topping (xtra cheese) and one small-ish cola= $7.50. I could've gotten a much better pizza and a larger soft drink (with free refills and maybe a small side salad) for what this cost AND better reception. I didn't enjoy my lunch. read more

We went to Tim's Pizza for dinner, and they put our order in the wrong order on the ticket line. We waited at least 40-50 minutes for a pepperoni pizza. They offered a couple free salads and that was it. It didn't seem to bother them, that people that had ordered 3-4 orders behind us had eaten and left before we even received our pizza! Good pizza ( crust, toppings, etc) great friendly staff behind counter. No debit/ credit so bring cash or check or walk yourself to ATM at nearby gas station but I guess cash only keep their prices cheaper for what your getting. Will be back. read more

I had never been to Tim's pizza. I wanted to give it a chance so I ordered take out. I arrived and was told they only accept cash or checks. So I had to drive all the way to the ATM down the street to get cash to pay for the pizza, which wasn't even that good. To the owner--get with the times and start accepting debit/credit cards and stop being so cheap...pay the merchant fees. read more

Nothing special. Crispy crust and thick toppings. Empty with a couple old timers on a Sunday afternoon. Not a place to watch sports. Like others said dont get the salad bar and bring cash (they also take checks but no one pays for a meal with checks). read more

Pizza is so so but the staff is so rude. When we got there they had reserve on 2 tables. I asked if I could move the reserve sign to the tables on the other side so our group could sit together. He flat out said "NO," very rudely. I asked about the back room and he said it was reserved. Funny thing, my sister is in Cookers Care and they meet at Tim's every Wednesday in the back room, except tonight because she cancelled their meeting. I feel they didn't want any business so they could all watch the baseball game. Because as we drove by on our way home there wasn't one car in the parking lot. Serves them right. Never again and after telling my sister, Cookers Care will rethink their Wednesday nights. read more

Finally got here after all these years. The owners were friendly and wisecrackers which lightened everyone's mood. We got the House Special Pizza ( Pepperoni, sausage, beef, onions, green peppers, and mushrooms ). It came out in about 15 minutes and was piping hot. I heard about this place from some people. Went out and tried it today. The crust is very good. Good veggies on the the pizza, but the Italian sausage was the same old Pre cooked MSG pizza toppings that you find in most KC pizza joints. Great pizza, but ran poorly. If you want a quick option, this is not it. They're old school. They have one line to take calls. "Every one likes different things. I like the canadian bacon, it is shredded so it is all over the pizza. I don't like tons of sauce cuz I don't want it to take away from the other flavors. I like the cracker like crust. I really can't get enough of this pizza when I start eating it I don't want to stop. It reminds me of Fun House pizza when I was a kid, I am 46 now, and have not been to Fun House in years. Seems like last time I had it, it had changed from what I remember. I am looking for a new pizza joint after the one that I have gone to for years closed. I called mid afternoon to get some pricing on the food and explained that I have never been there. When I called back later that night to place an order I couldn't get through, the phone kept ringing, when they finally picked up the phone I was on hold for 10 mins before I hung up. I was already driving there so I figured what the hey still give them a shot and showed up to place an order in person. There is a sign in the door that they only accept check and cash, something that was not disclosed to me therefore I brought neither only a card. I never even ate the food, the service alone was enough to shut me off to this place. read more
