Hamburger steak with broccoli side at Times Grill
    Mike H.

Although it had been several years since we last visited Times Grill, my wife and I met family there tonight and it was very good. This is certainly the place to go for an elite burger on the Northshore. Our party of six enjoyed several of the Times' signature hamburgers and all were enjoyed. Service was welcoming and efficient and the relaxed family atmosphere made for an enjoyable evening. Times Grill is now our go to spot for burgers.

Big Times Burgers. We poured our Crawfish soup and broccoli over our burgers.

Times Grill! Where they remember what you like! Leah at the bar remembered I liked seltzers even though we're not regular regulars! We had great 2 Big Times Burgers (3/4 lbs) and 2 cups of Crawfish & Pepperjack Soups. And broccolis on the side. This is our favorite every time we come.

The wizard burger ridiculously large with one side

Immediately greeted and seated. Busy establishment. Server was polite and engaging. Party of 3. My chicken breast and 2 sides were beyond amazing. The chicken was spectacular in taste and quite frankly size. The mac & cheese size was honestly so big. The burgers I'm told we're delicious.

Friends told me about this place so we decided to call in an order and they picked it up. So, ambiance of Times is nice and pleasing. Service was good and fast(again, we just picked up). Food was good. Pasta and Jazzy BBQ sandwich are the worst two items pictured. The fried chicken sandwich was real good. The fries and BBQ nachos were excellent! Will definitely come back for those two things!

Lots of space for parking along with seating inside the restaurant. Lots of options on the menu! Not very generous portion of French fries overall. Service was good. All the TVs were on with sports games.

Although I do not live on the North Shore, I visit often, as my in-laws moved there a few years ago. On Sunday, 30 JUL 2023, I was attending my godchild's birthday party and 9 of my family members (including my family) wanted to grab a quick bite to eat. A Yelp search showed that Times Grill was only 1.2 miles from our location, so we decided to give it a try, as none of us had ever eaten there before. The moment we walked through the door, there was no mistaking that you were in a burger restaurant, as it totally smelled like burgers cooking. We were seated fairly quickly, and our server arrived shortly thereafter. As we had just left a party, we did not get any appetizers, as we all had eaten a few snacks at the party. Seven out of the nine of us got burgers, as Times is apparently known for their burgers. Having so many choices, I was initially undecided on what burger to get, but eventually settled on the "All Jacked Up" burger, which is an 8 oz. burger topped with sautéed onions and "jacked up" Pepper Jack cheese. I also added a fried egg on the burger, which really was the perfect topper. It was good to see that they didn't skimp on the cheese, because it looked like 2-3 slices of melted gooey goodness. I like medium rare burgers, but usually order medium, as I find a lot of restaurants tend to undercook their steaks and burgers. Times was no exception, as my burger came out perfectly medium rare, so beware when ordering. When getting a burger, your one side item options are French fries, Times potato salad and creole Cole Slaw. I almost never get French Fries, so opted for the potato salad, as my wife was getting the Cole Slaw and I knew I'd get to try hers. The potato salad was good and it didn't have too much mayonnaise. It was a little on the spicy side, which I like, but I think most people would prefer a more subdued "less spic / normal" offering. The Cole Slaw was definitely on point and not soggy at all. Our server, who's name escapes me, was good. She checked on us periodically, split our checks into 4 separate parties and gave us drinks to go. Other than my undercooked burger, and a little bit of a "smoky" atmosphere, it was a solid restaurant.

This is the bbltpc burger !!

We have our favorites on both sides of the lake, but I recently read some great reviews somewhere online about Crazy Pig Southern Kitchen with locations in both Mandeville and Covington. After speaking with our friends we decided to dine at the Covington location of Crazy Pig Southern Kitchen. Inside the entrance, the restaurant posts their policy that you will not be seated at a table until all parties have arrived, which is understandable considering the huge amount of business they have. My wife and I arrived before our friends who were running a little late. The Hostess, Jill, asked me how many in our party and I told her four, but the other couple was running late and would be arriving in about 20 minutes. We took a seat in the empty waiting area inside the entrance. The restaurant appeared to have only one or two empty tables available inside when I arrived on a beautiful day. Five to ten minutes later the waiting area was full (approx. ten people). The restaurant was extremely noisy with all their customers enjoying their meals and conversing with friends/family. I noticed that there were approximately ten tables located in front of the restaurant in a beautiful covered patio, so I asked Jill if we could have a table outside once our friends arrived in about five more minutes because one of them was somewhat physically handicapped. There was only one empty table in the patio at the time. Jill explained that since she had a reservation in the patio for a party of eight that would be arriving soon, so she had been holding it for another available outside table to put together to accommodate this party. However, she said she would gladly give us the table. By this time, the waiting room was full of people and overflowing outside the entrance. I had given my seat to a lady and stepped outside to wait for my friends, who I noticed had arrived and parking their car. I told Jill and she seated us at the table in the patio. The four of us ordered different things on the menu, which were fantastic. Although the restaurant was packed, the waitress AND Jill visited our table several times to ensure we were enjoying our meals. Crazy Pig Southern Kitchens' ambiance, service, menu items (along with portion sizes) and prices were absolutely astounding. We were all very impressed and grateful for a beautiful dining experience. Special thanks to Jill who was abundantly pleasant to deal with. Crazy Pig Southern Kitchen certainly placed Jill in the right position.

She highly recommended the Blacken Shrimp and Grits. When my food came out, it was a large plate with plenty of shrimp. The food was amazing. I got my Southern/ Creole craving fulfilled. Our Server was friendly and helpful, always there when we needed her. Always with a smile. The location itself was comfortable and set a nice mood for our meal. The only thing I was unhappy with was the take away packing. The young man who packed my steak up literally folded my ribeye in half, to fit in a small container. I'd never seen this in my life (and hope to never see it again). Because of this, the liquid from the steak leaked onto the bottom of the paper bag our leftovers were put into. I was not pleased with this. I hope training will be provided for the people who pack take away containers in the future. This was the only bad part of our experience. I'd still highly recommend this location for a great meal.

We gave ourselves an hour and a half, enough time to eat and get to our next planned and scheduled event that day. So, we weren't in a rush. We get in the quickly moving line to order our food at the counter. I order a salmon bagel and the hubs ordered a meatball ciabatta. We sit down and I noticed it is a very busy place. It is a very large place and I noticed how clean everything was and how efficient all the workers were at getting the food out. One after the other, food was coming out like an assembly line and the food looked good, too. But the assembly line apparently stopped, no orders were coming out, and we waited about 20 or 25 minutes. At least we had our drinks because it is a counter service type establishment. We noticed stacks and stacks of 'to go' orders were being placed in the counter area. After nearly 35 or 40 minutes we get our food. Some guy had ordered a 'football teams' worth amount of food. So, although it was not the restaurant's fault, it was frustrating the timing that our order was f course put in right after the guy that ordered 20 dishes. I get my bagel to try to eat quickly, since now we are in a little bit of a rush. And the bagel couldn't have been more complicated to eat. I just wanted a complete lox bagel but it was a deconstructed bagel where I had to put the thing together. I would have enjoyed the meal a little better had my bagel been properly served, like for example, the way Flour Moon serves their bagels to customers. I don't know if we will be back because I rarely visit the Northshore, this was a special occasion. I guess if I do come back, I would like to try one or two of the desserts from the case. Those looked really good.
