We enjoyed a lovely lunch this afternoon. Food and service were fantastic. Husband ordered the 14 oz pork chop with Steens cane syrup glaze and a side of macaroni and cheese. I ordered the ahi tuna stack which was a generous enough portion to be my meal. The pork chop was cooked to perfection and the glaze was a delicious complement to the pork. The tuna was very fresh, seared perfectly, and the presentation was as beautiful as the dish was tasty. We were visiting friends in the area who took us there and we look forward to returning for another wonderful meal. Excellent value for the quality. Our waiter, Joe (I believe was his name) was amazingly attentive, efficient, and personable. Great experience!

My husband brought me here for my birthday. We hadn't been to this Mandeville location for some time, even though we do love all of Pat Gallagher's restaurants. We didn't realize that when they open for lunch (11 am - 2:30 pm) on the weekdays, and close until they reopen at 5 pm for dinner, that the bar stays open all day! Now we know!! We love their bar. It is huge but something about its set up (and the great bartenders) is just very fun and welcoming. We enjoyed pre dinner martinis at the bar, then were seated for our dinner. We tried a cup of their soup of the day, "Boiling Pot". Like a crab boil with mixed seafood. My husband loved it. Also had the Crab Claws appetizer that was so amazing and decadent. The sauce was so delicious that we scooped it up like soup after we finished the mini crab claws. We both had the Surf N Turf. The lobsters were huge and so succulent. Our filet mignons were perfectly cooked Pittsburgh-style. I devoured our Sweet Potato casserole. We also had delicious creamed spinach. Our server, Andrew, was so good! His friendliness made our night. He brought me an awesome birthday dessert. We also ordered our favorite liquid desserts, Irish Coffee Decafs. The most special part of the night though, is when we walked in the restaurant, not only did the Maitre D open, hold the door and greet us warmly, but so did Chef Pat Gallagher, who was sitting in the front area of the restaurant. He even wished me happy birthday!

I had one of many lunches today at Pat Gallaghers 527 and as usual, the meal was simply glorious, and I mean truly sublime. I've not reviewed it before because honestly, I've taken it for granted and stop in often and conveniently sit at the bar. This is a better meal than many of the super premium New Orleans restaurants and at lunch, it's a third of the price. The employees are super friendly and the pacing of the meal is perfect. Every dish that we have ever been served, it clearly has just been prepared and rushed to me, and even in groups of four or more, none of the heat lamp tomfoolery that happens at many restaurants. The value is solid, $14 for 3 soup dishes that are exquisite and then only $16 for a crisp and hefty fried catfish pecan amandine. The fish was ultra fresh, super crisp, with crunchy pecans decorating the top. Even the green beans were made with pride as they were fresh and oh so tasty! (And I rarely eat vegetables). And here's the real kicker - and what compelled me to post today. In the post covid world, many things have changed and not in a good way. However, I come to Gallaghers and the employees are happy, they are dedicated to serving diners, the chefs are prideful of their dishes - just look at the images of my two dishes. I wish I could have photographed the gentleman's meal next to me - Steak and Lobster - it's presentation was equally gorgeous and the aromas coming my way, they were a culinary gift. It was hard not to ask this stranger if I could have a bite! One of the Northshore's Great Restaurants!

First time visiting this restaurant at a recommendation of a friend and I must say...we throughly enjoyed it. Great atmosphere and some old school R&B playing in the background. Restaurant was nice and clean. The staff was friendly from the host yo the servers. There was someone for every need. You had someone filling the water. Sweet young lady, very friendly with a nice smile. The server was nice also, attentive, she did great, except she forgot my husbands lemon Food-The food was really flavorful. My husband truly enjoyed the turtle soup. I tried scallops for the first time and it was delicious, especially with the bacon. Lobster was huge!!! Ohhh the complementary bread...hot and dangerously delicious I love Brussel Sprouts, but I have to say these were just okay. Too soft for me, I like mine still hard, but it did have a good flavor Dessert was so yummy. The ooey gooey toffee cake. OMG good!! Mr Pat Gallagher blessed us with the dessert since it was our anniversary. Very nice and we appreciated his offering

We came here for the first time on our anniversary, we made a reservation on a Saturday night around 630. We were seated quickly and our server came over within minutes. We ordered the special which was a soft shell crab entrée, and lamb chops. The soft shell looked beautiful, but was lacking on taste. The lamb was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. We happened to go on the night when three other couples were celebrating anniversaries. The waitress was excellent. She made sure we had everything we needed and she gave us a free anniversary dessert, and took our picture. The prices were comparable to most steak houses, overall we had a great experience!

We have our favorites on both sides of the lake, but I recently read some great reviews somewhere online about Crazy Pig Southern Kitchen with locations in both Mandeville and Covington. After speaking with our friends we decided to dine at the Covington location of Crazy Pig Southern Kitchen. Inside the entrance, the restaurant posts their policy that you will not be seated at a table until all parties have arrived, which is understandable considering the huge amount of business they have. My wife and I arrived before our friends who were running a little late. The Hostess, Jill, asked me how many in our party and I told her four, but the other couple was running late and would be arriving in about 20 minutes. We took a seat in the empty waiting area inside the entrance. The restaurant appeared to have only one or two empty tables available inside when I arrived on a beautiful day. Five to ten minutes later the waiting area was full (approx. ten people). The restaurant was extremely noisy with all their customers enjoying their meals and conversing with friends/family. I noticed that there were approximately ten tables located in front of the restaurant in a beautiful covered patio, so I asked Jill if we could have a table outside once our friends arrived in about five more minutes because one of them was somewhat physically handicapped. There was only one empty table in the patio at the time. Jill explained that since she had a reservation in the patio for a party of eight that would be arriving soon, so she had been holding it for another available outside table to put together to accommodate this party. However, she said she would gladly give us the table. By this time, the waiting room was full of people and overflowing outside the entrance. I had given my seat to a lady and stepped outside to wait for my friends, who I noticed had arrived and parking their car. I told Jill and she seated us at the table in the patio. The four of us ordered different things on the menu, which were fantastic. Although the restaurant was packed, the waitress AND Jill visited our table several times to ensure we were enjoying our meals. Crazy Pig Southern Kitchens' ambiance, service, menu items (along with portion sizes) and prices were absolutely astounding. We were all very impressed and grateful for a beautiful dining experience. Special thanks to Jill who was abundantly pleasant to deal with. Crazy Pig Southern Kitchen certainly placed Jill in the right position.

She highly recommended the Blacken Shrimp and Grits. When my food came out, it was a large plate with plenty of shrimp. The food was amazing. I got my Southern/ Creole craving fulfilled. Liz came by the table to say hi to my mother in law and to meet us all. I started my meal with a spicy Bloody Mary and then had the Seafood Scramble with Spicy Hollandaise and a side of Cheesy Grits. The scramble had a good amount of eggs and seafood and the sauce had a nice level of seasoning. I would've loved to have the biscuit that came but I saved it for my son since he can eat gluten. That biscuit looked soft and fluffy. I loved my egg dish. My son had a Cheeseburger with Sweet Potato Fries and my brother in law had the Grilled Cheese and Crab Sandwich. They both looked great and apparently were delicious. The Shrimp and Grits and Debris Eggs Benedict were awesome too. We will definitely be back on our next trip if not another day this week.
