We are frequent Pardos patrons and will remain so. Its convenient location, just across the road from Beau Chene makes it a staple in our dining rotation. Beyond that, the food and service are simply perfect every time. I enjoyed some small plates last night, including an espresso martini, the tuna crisp and the soup de jour: tomato basil. Everything was served at the perfect temp, cold for drinks and crisp and piping hot for the soup. The martini was standalone and had the perfect hints of chocolate essence and level of sweetness. It was more coffee than liqueur which I loved and the drink was pleasant without it tasting too much like the spirit. I do mine with gin and they always do such a great job. The tuna crudo was good, and presented so nice with a pour-over of the agua chile tableside. I do feel like it was missing some spice and salt, leaving it to fall a bit flat. However it was incredibly fresh! The soup was a perfect way to end my night, light enough but also filling. So creamy and good. A major thank you and recognition for Nathan. He is an excellent bartender, server and had amazing suggestions for menu items and drinks. He kindly asked the kitchen for extra requests and helped making our dining experience memorable. First visit at Pardos and we walked into a great reception from the staff, they sat us and immediately the pleasure of the night started. Marlon and Hunter were both so attentive and made sure we never lacked. The place is very cute it was not dark like reviews I have read on here at all and I did not need a flashlight. Marlin suggested the Wagyu Tomahawk which was 46-50 ozs (it was a beast). I was super surprised it came out to temperature all the way through - Hats off to the chef who knows how to cook a steak. My wife and I stopped by Pardos Bistro in Mandeville for a Friday lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Pardos sports a very well tailored, white table cloth persona that is both elegant and contemporary and its wait staff is welcoming and also quite attentive, but not too much so. The quality of their efficient staff is really noteworthy, especially in this post pandemic world, in which truly good table service has all but evaporated. Today I enjoyed the Shepherd's pie, which was very good and attractively presented in an iron skillet. My wife liked her tomato, basil, pesto pasta, which was moderately spicy and really sumptuous. Our accompanying bread, Caesar salads, and iced teas were all very good. Pardos has a nice bar area, an excellent wine list and an assortment of specialty cocktails. Although we did not partake today, there was an impressive-sounding array of desserts, among which we were told that the bread pudding is a primo offering. I love coming here for very special moments. My mom celebrated her 75th bday and the staff were so attentive to making sure she would have the best birthday dinner! They kept our glasses full and paid attention to every detail for each of the next courses we ordered! On New Year's Eve we had dinner with another couple. My husband thought about leaving as soon as we were seated but decided to stay for we were meeting another couple. We were seated at a table that had no lighting. I realize they were trying to get a good ambiance for the restaurant but it was not good for our table. I am used to having to use my flashlight in order to read a menu but I have NEVER had to use the flashlight on my phone to see my food in order to find it on my plate so I could eat it. The food was excellent which it should be at the price. We each ordered the up charge to have the lump crab meat. I should have asked how much the crabmeat was before adding it. It was $22 per person and if we got two tablespoons of crab I would be surprised. Our waitress was excellent. It was a very busy night but she took good care of us. The whole staff were very efficient The noise level was so loud I had to bend over out of my chair in order to hear what my friend was saying. Yes, a crowed restaurant so that is understandable I hate to say but we will not be going back to Pardo's again. Our night of celebrating the new year was anything but enjoyable. When you spend $384 for two, you would want to have a special night. It just didn't happen. So if you go on a non busy night and have lights at your table and don't mind spending a lot of money, this is the place to go. The food and service is great. read more

Went to Pardo's last night for the first time. We were celebrating our anniversary early and we had reservations. Our server was amazing. She was also the somalier so she not only gave us wine pairing recommendations but described each dish in detail with how it's cooked and the ingredients. I'm sorry I didn't remember her name. We ordered the crab cake appetizer which was the most amazing and we have tried them everywhere. We stuck to standard menu items even though the specials sounded amazing. I ordered the trout topped with lump crab and shrimp. Hubby got the pork chop. Now he's a pork chop connoisseur and he really liked it. We chose not to order dessert but They brought us a banana cream pie. I think everyone who's celebrating something gets the same thing complimentary. Overall it was a great meal. read more

I have been venturing out to favorite restaurants since my wife's passing and Pardos was always a favorite, so there I was at my favorite able in this beautifully appointed restaurant. Had gone in with a specific entree in mind, but my waitress Brianna informed me that they had just changed up the Gnocchi presentation (actually gnudi - gnocchi like dumpling with ricotta and no potato) and the description was intriguing. She was also able to tempt me with an appetizer special of smoked shishito peppers with crisp mushrooms served over a charred corn reduction. Both dishes were incredible as was the cocktail. Plus, they have a great selection of wines by the glass. Service was attentive without being over present and all the staff were knowledgeable about the food being offered. I cannot wait to go back. Met here tonight with my culinary club - the "Three Banqueteers" - for our monthly sampling of local cuisine and - Wow - this place was a home run from start to finish. First of all, our server (Chelsea) was AMAZING - professional, timely, friendly and went out of her way to look after us. Give her a raise! We sampled their happy hour Martinis - VERY nicely done - tasty, complex and yet simple in presentation. Appetizers were the fresh, crispy bread rolls with dipping oil, an Artichoke and Fennel Bread Pudding that - honestly - was a little light on the Bread Pudding side of things and involved a good bit of seafood - which the menu didn't lead you to expect. Actually NOT a complaint in terms of flavors - just not what we were expecting. And we ate every last bit of it. Also served was an off menu Beef Tartare that was very tasty that came with a fruit compote that complimented it nicely. Then there were the Mains: Pan Seared Red Snapper, Brick Chicken with a Foie Gras sauce, and Scallops that were perfectly cooked. We could decide whose dish was best but we all shared and enjoyed them immensely. Dessert was a "Buttermilk Pie" that was as decadent as it counts.
