This is one of my Family's favorites. We came at the end of the lunch hour. Service was fast and efficient. Each meal we ordered was fresh and delicious! We had the Gumbo, Chef Salad, Corn Chowder, The daily special Which was fish with etouffee, po'boys, and a Mufaletta. Love the eclectic decor. Take the Lacombe exit off the interstate and come give this place a try! Our Family will be back!

Crab Cakes! So good with the Shrimp Creme Sauce!

The food is always so good here! And they have great service, everyone was so warm and welcoming. I Always get the Steak Diane! It comes in a brown wine sauce, and is topped with mushrooms and fried onions. Medium Rare! So good! My wife usually gets the Pane Chicken with Fettuccine, or the Trout Meniere with Crab Meat on top. Their salads are chilled and their house Ranch is great. They usually serve oyster crackers before. We liked the Crab Cakes, but I prefer their Calamari Appetizer. Never had a bad dish! Check this place out!

It was okay. Had a ribeye and it was very thin. Maybe will try something else next time.

Great atmosphere. I had the fried catfish which was delicious. I love that it's lightly breaded and full of flavor.

I eat at Janie Browns several times a month and the food is always delicious. I think they have some of the best seafood on the North Shore.

Waitstaff was inattentive and the food was mediocre. The place is carpeted so it smelled musty in the dining area.

Long…read moreafter moving away to various other places, I always made an effort to stop in to enjoy a great meal whenever I passed through the area. Initially, I ordered only the brucioloni ( braciole) as that is an Italian favorite rarely found in restaurants. But as the years went by, I checked out some of their other offerings, all expertly prepared. Veal chop, veal pane, lamb chops, and spaghetti aglio olio with homemade Italian sausages. You get a wonderful dinner salad, seemingly endless loaves of fresh baked Italian bread and depending on your order, other sides. Pasta portions are generous. Cocktails are great especially the sazerac, and there is a good variety of wines to choose from. Desserts are good too, especially the homemade. Service has always been good, from the bartender and maitre'd, down to whichever server you end up getting. Many employees have been working there a long time which is a testament to a well-run restaurant. During the course of the evening, Sal himself will likely stop by your table to ensure you are satisfied. The restaurant itself is classy, a white tablecloth kind of place where many patrons dress up for the occasion. But shorts are OK too. I highly recommend eating here when on the north shore. I've never left hungry or dissatisfied in any way.

It was very crowded and we had to wait a little bit longer than our reservation time but that was okay because we sat at the bar and enjoyed some drinks before our dinner. The bartender was great and very friendly. We ordered some Alfredo and stuffed Artichoke wow. We went to Rome two years ago and at at Alfredo's that claim to be the birth place of Alfredo sauce and we loved it. This was just as good. The noodles were delicious and fresh the sauce was very good too. The wife loved her artichoke. For our meal I had the Braciole first time ever and it was fantastic my wife had the veal lasagna and she loved it. The house salads were amazing flavor and we finished with ice cream with amaretto and cool whip and bourbon pecan pie with ice cream. So much food left over. A true Italian restaurant. Atmosphere was loud and friendly and everyone having a great time visiting and enjoying themselves over a great meal . The way it was meant to be. If you are looking for that quiet romantic atmosphere this is not it. If family and great food is what you want then this is a must go to place. There's been a shift in staff, and while they're still friendly, they could use a little more training and attention to detail. Nothing wild, just tightening up. Overall, the kitchen is still doing what it's supposed to do, and the flavors are still very much home.

We started out with an order of seafood croquettes. They were good, but not our favorite. We also had an order of brussels sprouts and they were perfect. My husband ordered their shepherds pie. It was a massive portion. The whipped potatoes on top had just enough flavor to complement the beef and veggies. My daughter ordered the seafood, stuffed potato, and boy was it stuffed! Rich creamy sauce with lots of shrimp and crawfish. The yakamein was calling my name! It was perfect for a cold windy day. I had a little bit of a kick and just enough noodles and seafood to make me happy. The portions are very generous, so be prepared to ask for a to go box. This place is definitely worth checking out.
