Bravo. The food, service and ambience were top quality and first rate. Staff was friendly. Attentive. Quick to correct things. They knew the regular customers and it was a treat to see the family type interactions. Extensive menu. Staff were keen to facilitate subtle ways mebers of the party requested their food be prepared. Beverages were kept filled. Overall a very fine dining experience. I highly recommend this establishment. It's a must visit while spending time at Ameristar Black Hawk. You'll enjoy it. I'm sure you'll be glad you went.

This was my first time eating at this restaurant and it was scrumptious! Timberline is on the casino floor of the Ameristar Black Hawk Casino. My bestie brought us here for a relaxing getaway and birthday dinner for my mom. She, as always, picked the perfect spot because we had a great time! The restaurant was busy as all get out so there was a slight wait for our table but the hostesses checked in with us several times. The kind of great customer service I appreciate. We were sat a few minutes after our reservation time in a private booth in the front area of the restaurant. Our server, Jessica, was slammed but made sure to touch all of her tables. She came over with water and since we're starving we ordered our drinks and food all at once. She brought over fresh bread and butter which was warm and yummy. Our appetizers came out: squash blossoms, scallops, crab cakes, and bone marrow for the bestie. We devoured everything and made a lot of satisfied food sounds. We were able to sit back and digest before our entrees came out. She ordered the 3oz wagyu and we ordered the 8oz salmon to share. The sides were ala carte so we ordered the asparagus, heirloom tomatoes, and mashed potatoes to share. It was all so good. Everything was cooked to the requested temps. The sides were perfect! Can't even truly describe how perfect this meal was. We all sat back and sighed when we were done. The sides were a generous portion so we have leftovers. Jessica brought over the dessert menu...we glanced at it but none of us had any room for more things. Well done, Timberline and staff, for a delectable experience.

Came here with a group of 7, was seated promptly. Our server was friendly and attentive. Appetizers were yellowtail kinilaw, bone marrow, and squash blossoms. All delicious! Steaks ordered were prime rib, filet mignon , and ribeye. All cooked to perfect temperatures requested and flavorful. Kudos to the executive chef and all the staff for an excellent dinner. Would highly recommend!

Forgot to picture the wagyu filet which was incredible and the baked potato (wouldn't order again). Overall we loved the place!

The steak is amazing and the service was great! Our party came for a birthday dinner and the dessert was amazing.

Restaurant was in the casino and a cute set up for being so. We were sat in the center and it was empty so we asked to be moved to a booth, the lady gave us such a hard time it was laughable. We even said if she cannot move us it's fine but booth preferred. She said that's what the comments section is for in the reservation to where we had just put birthday. Our server was friendly but wow a smile or recommendation something would be nice lol Filet was delicious! I loved my strawberry peach salad! French Onion Soup was mediocre and not warm enough. It was very sweet that they gave us a complimentary birthday dessert. I recommend for a steak in a restaurant in Blackhawk, CO. Limited options.

We are regulars of Black Hawk and have tried almost every restaurant in town but strangely had never been to Timberline Grill, so we decided to change that this weekend. We were greeted and seated as soon as we got there, smooth start that just got better as the night progressed. Our server, Jessica, was truly amazing. She got everything right and she did it with a pleasant attitude. Wait time for food wasn't horrible for a busy Friday night. We loved the ambiance of the restaurant, perfect setting for every occasion. The highlight of the night was the food, I had the Roasted Half Jidori Chicken, best roast chicken I've ever had, my wife had the Lobster Bisque and Fried Prawns. She only had great things to say as well. Highly recommend if you're in Black Hawk and you want tasty food!

Came here for dinner after a long ride in the mountains on a Saturday. The evening got away from us so, the idea of a warm solid meal after 10pm was exciting. We were sat immediately and ordered some drinks, and appetizer and dinner. The drink list was minimal which was kind of surprising being at a casino but, we all found something that we could enjoy. The wings came for the appetizer and they were $14 for 6-- rather pricey. For the meals, we got the burger (table favorite), the prime rib (very fatty), and the jerk half chicken (was supposed to come with apple slaw & chorizo but was over a bed of what seemed like breakfast potatoes). All in all, we were happy to be feed.

Pissed is how I would love to start my review! Hostess was absolutely horrible on customer service! Do Not Come Here! I don't normally give places this badge of review but absolutely horrible is what I like to say about the customer service I received when I walked up to it. Please do not come to this restaurant. The food is atrocious and the customer service is eating more atrocious.

The CH beet ricotta was a bit unexpected, we were picturing more of a salad style dish, so it threw us off at first, but still flavorful. The smoked salmon ended up being my personal favorite, it was perfectly seasoned and wonderfully balanced. Also, the rich butter cake was delicious! Highly recommend making a reservation, especially on weekend evenings when things get lively.

I had given it 5 stars then, which I included in an overall review of the Monarch where it is located. However, with this last visit, that was not the case at all. This is an upscale, dimly lit steakhouse, and we had an amazing time trying it for our anniversary a while back. When we went to celebrate my birthday this year, it was a different story. Though service was attentive, prompt and friendly (which of course was reflected in our tip) I cannot give extra stars, as the food physically made my husband ill. He decided to have the lobster bisque, and unfortunately it immediately did not sit well with him. I tried it as well, and it tasted rancid. Being polite, he just pushed it to the side and did not say anything. Then the staff came over a few times asking about the bisque, then proceeded to comp it, which made us even more concerned. I'm a professional chef, and we do not serve anything that tastes or smells even remotely questionable, especially when it comes to seafood. He was ill for hours afterward (and into the next day). After tasting it myself, I could not stomach much more of our very expensive meal. My steak and French onion soup were fantastic in flavor, but I was not able to enjoy much of it, as I also had a nasty taste from the bisque and felt nauseous just from the smell alone. They did bring me a free birthday dessert, which I appreciate. However, I did not get to choose what I was eating. They brought out pumpkin cheesecake. To give credit- I'm sure it was chosen because it's a popular dish, but I personally do not like pumpkin at all. In fact, it makes me gag, frankly. I do however, love cheesecake and tried a bite to be polite, but I did not like it, let alone want it. I decided not to say anything about the dessert they chose for me, since I did not pay for it, and we were trying to get out of there due to not feeling great after the food served. I was disappointed even more at this point, as it would've been nice to at least be able to choose and enjoy my "celebration dessert", especially considering how much money we spent- even less the bisque. Not to mention how awful the experience was due to food poisoning. We will not be back, which is unfortunate considering how great our first experience was. This experience was awful enough to deter us from further visits....

The price is a bit steep at ~$60/person for dinner on the weekends, but the quality and variety of food is decent for the price. First off, the queen of the buffet, or any buffet in my opinion, are the lobster tail and snow crab. When you pay, 2 redemption coupons are handed per person; one for a lobster tail and one for 2 snow crab clusters. Although this may seem like it is not much, it really is plenty of food unless the plan is to only eat lobster and snow crab (please refer to attached picture). The pho station is ok and the prime rib was very salty, but other than those two, everything else tasted great. Service is top notch. Our server checked in on us and cleaned up our discarded lobster/crab remains very quickly and frequently. Make sure to tip your servers even at buffets!

Steak was slightly overcooked and sides were nothing to brag about. After ordering they brought us some rolls, this is where we were taken back. These were nothing but store bought Hawaiian Sweet Rolls, and they weren't even freshly bought. We passed on them, the shrimp cocktail was amazing so we have them a pass on the rolls. When the actual meal was served we found both the asparagus and baked potatoes were under cooked. Those this isn't difficult items to cook, we are the potatoes and passed on the asparagus. The steaks were less then par and very dry. They bring a side of gravy with them but this alone wasn't enough to make up for the tough dry steak. I know I am from Wyoming and will challenge anyone to compete with our states top steak houses, but I think I wouldn't compare this to the worst of them.
