Seasons Buffet is Lodge Casino's main restaurant. They are on the 2nd floor There is a fast casual place, Jake's near the north entrance. Seasons offers breakfast, lunch and dinner + weekend brunch. I had a free buffet from the casino. After playing several slot machines at a sister casino and at the Lodge, I came for lunch. I showed my players card to validate the buffet. The regular price is $18.99 + tax. I was seated promptly and gave my beverage order of iced tea. They offer a range of hot & cold dishes + desserts. Everything was fresh. I ate well. This is difficult to rate, because the crab legs alone are worth the entire visit! WOW! They were absolutely delicious. You have to ask for the crab legs and they're so generous by giving you 4 clusters with nearby drawn butter for your enjoyment. The crab tasted clean, fresh, and sweet. I would come back for this reason! The service was also very attentive and everyone was so kind that helped us. Outside of that, this buffet isn't anything magical. It has all of the basics, perhaps a bit overcooked on most of the dishes... not a luxurious experience otherwise. It's one of those buffets that "does the trick" and you go for the crab. read more

This is probably the best part of The Lodge Casino. The buffet tables were full of freshly prepared food, that were consistently refilled. There was both breakfast and lunch stations, including Mexican and Chinese food, as well as a meat carving station, a salad bar, a pizza station, a full dessert station full of cakes, pies, eclairs, and a self serve soft ice cream machine. Pretty solid buffet with international options. Crab legs on the weekend. Prime rib during the week. My prime rib was rare both times I attempted to get a medium cut. This isn't the greatest quality but I'm not sure what people expect from reasonably priced all you can eat. Post-covid buffet offerings in Black Hawk and Central City are slim, especially if you want a reasonable price point. Seasons still exists and that's positive. It's still the best deal in town, but honestly it's not a great one. We still go occasionally, but when we do we aim for the weekday breakfast buffet only as that's the best price. The weekend buffets do offer more, but the weekend brunch price point is comparable to the champagne buffet that Ameristar used to offer, only with far fewer and poorer quality food choices and limited champagne. The casinos have gotten frustratingly cheap and its evident here. I would consider other breakfast options first. read more

For the price of the buffet it's awful. We started getting free buffet coupons and it's not even worth my time. The desserts probably the best. The crab legs are so small and it takes forever because they are so small to get any meat. You wind up throwing a lot of food away and I think it's a big waste. I know the crab legs are small wherever you go it's probably a bad sign that people keep buying them. The buffet is not worth the money or the time even if it's free. Crazy expensive, like over $50 for one. If you don't like crab legs then I'd suggest not to go. It would be more feasible if you had the option to not do the all you can eat crab legs for half the cost. Prime rib was good. Asked for New York strip and got another cut of prime rib. The food was wonderful! We discovered this buffet early in our vacation and returned two more times. Mexican food bar with tacos, fajitas, burritos, rice and beans. Asian bar with lo mein, sweet and sour pork, teriyaki chicken, and crab rangoons. Their BBQ brisket was delicious. Ham and italian sausage were among the entrees. And on Friday, they had coconut butterfly shrimp! Salad and fruit bars and even charcuterie. The desserts alone are worth the trip. Cheesecake, brownies, soft serve ice cream, and their pies are to die for. Pretty dining room. The wait staff was attentive with refillable non alcoholic drinks. read more

If you're going for the crab - then, yes that's decent. All of the other food is questionable at best. Very small selection, and honestly not tasty. My husband had a cut of meat that was gray on the inside. We had higher hopes for the price, but were very let down. Seasons Buffet is literally just like the Hometown Buffet (for lunch at least). Quality of food was pretty low, only thing that was okay was the ribs. The desserts were all dry and way too sweet, it tasted like store brought cakes. Staff was attentive enough to pass my standards. We were seated right away. 5 STARS?! Really? Yes. Seasons Buffet has all these low star reviews because everyone's an Effing Gourmet food critique. Here's a dose of reality people, as of August 2023, at $24 per person, Seasons is a perfectly good breakfast buffet to enjoy in Black Hawk. Do they have endless plates of crab legs at Sunday brunch? NO. Are the pastries handmade every morning by a French trained pastry chef? NO. But the food is good (not great), decently executed and very good service. Certainly worthy of 3-4 stars. But compare Seasons to the Monarch which is MORE THAN DOUBLE the price and also not 'knock your socks of fantastic' and this is the best value for a good breakfast buffet close to the big resorts in Black Hawk. Go to Seasons, reasonably manage your expectations, take your time to sit and enjoy and you won't be disappointed. read more

Been to this buffet a few times and it continues to go downhill over the years. $18 for lunch. Looks can be deceiving. There were a lot of choices: Mexican, Asian, American, Salad Bar, Desserts, and Pho station...but the food was better at my college cafeteria. Only carving station had pre-cut kielbasa and Italian sausage, which were probably the best items - pretty hard to mess that up. Fried chicken was cold and dry, ribs were dry, potstickers soggy, orange chicken mostly batter, shrimp fettuccini and jalapeño poppers not very memorable. Blueberry cheesecake, soft serve and cannoli for dessert - not worth the calories. Server gave us iced tea, and then disappeared for the remainder of our lunch. Dirty Plates sat forever. For the price you pay it isn't much of an experience and most of the food is truly sub-par. Not much of an experiment either. My husband enjoyed it more because he ate the lobster and crab legs, my "allotted" portions as well, as I can't eat seafood. Everything was just pretty standard which wouldn't bother me if it wasn't for the 55$ per person price coupled with servers who barely spoke English enough to understand our needs and slow to get you what you asked for. Excellent buffet. They are also doing a fine job of social distancing and serving you in the buffet line. We went when there wasn't too many people there so it was quite sparse with people anyway. The turkey is so moist and tender. The other buffet items are also very good. The crab legs were a little hard to peel but it had been a very long time since we had any they were still quite good. Visited the lodge for an overnight stay. Gambled for 5 hrs...dollar and 5 dollar slots. Hoping to get some food comps. Decided to head to the buffet @ 9:30 pm. The guide in the room stated it was open until 11 on weekends. Figured we had plenty of time. Paid 80.00 for 2 tickets. Led to our seats and were then told "hurry up because we close at 10." Turns out that was plenty of time as the food was absolutely disgusting. Although we might stay again but we will definitely be brown bagging it. The reviews for White Buffalo grill and Jake's are just as bad. One would figure that a place like the Lodge would serve better food!! Very dissatisfied!!!! read more

I just want to start off with I have been to quite a few casino's buffets because that is usually what they give you as a comp. We were driving on the peak to peak parkway for fun since never have been there before. Pleasant surprised when we came across a town fu of giant casinos. Of course, we got out. Time went by and decided eating needed to take place. The Friday night cost for the buffet was $24.95. This seem normal for casino buffet costs. It took quite awhile to be seated at 7pm as all the tables were full with slow turn over. Once we were sat down our amazing server I wish I could remember her name. She has long hair with bangs and a giant beautiful smile. This woman was working so hard in her area that drinks were always full and tables cleared of used plates. The buffet was small, and not impressed with the selection. The other thing which is why it was busy were the Alaskan snow crab. I would give it two stars. The service from our waitress was the whole reason for four stars. She was incredible with how crazy busy it was. read more

This review is not directed towards Seasons buffet at The Lodge employees. The manager resolved my issue by refunding my buffet. Rather, this review is to address the subpar food at the buffet. The salad dressing and lettuce were frozen solid. The meats and everything under the "warmers" were cold and you could tell that meats had been sitting out for hours. I feared food poisoning. The staff did repeatedly remove used dishes and inquired about our needing refills on drinks. Not the greatest quality food. Expected more based on their website. The peel and eat shrimp was okay. We stopped by on Sunday evening around 6pm for the Buffet after having tried this place a few times. We were so disappointed! Not only did we wait almost an hour only to have the food be cold and clearly old. We started out the evening by grabbing a drink by the bar close to the buffet, in preparation for the wait. As I mentioned, we'd been a few times before, typically on a Saturday, so we knew there's be a wait. Two friends joined us, one who was visiting Black hawk for the first time and the other who made this his second trip out there. We were pretty impressed with the buffet at a different hotel and raved that this one was pretty good as well. Once seated we each grabbed a plate to dig in. The crab legs were first on the agenda & that's where the disappointment began. They were cold, almost as though they'd been sitting there for hours. There was no steam coming up from the hot plates so clearly something was wrong. The buffet started serving dinner around 4 and it seemed like nothing had been freshened up since then...And it wasn't freshened up while we were there...on to the meats! Unfortunately I can't go here often. My waist line just would not be able to handle it. But every few months I try to make it up and play some craps along with getting a buffet. I have never been disappointed at the Lodge Casino. The food is always tasty and the value is great. Maybe I have just been lucky after reading other peoples reviews. But I have never had a bad experience. The staff is very polite and everything is very clean. It is very nice to be able to go out and know you will not be disappointed. So.... First visit to Blackhawk. Checked in and headed over to the Customer Service Desk. Was told to earn 50 points for a free buffet. Took them up on the challenge and played slots for about 5 minutes. Boom. Free Buffet. Good selection. The Pot Roast was dry and I could be bothered cutting it. The rest of the meal was good. I took advantage of some turkey and stuffing to have an early Thanksgiving dinner. Topped it off with some of the most delicious Crunch Berries I've ever tasted.
