I have to say for a fast food deli in a casino I was very impressed in the food selection. When I was told that there was a deli I was kind of hesitant as I really wasn't in the mood for deli sandwiches but we were starving and the casino we were in either didn't have a good selection or they were expensive. The ordering system is ridiculously confusing to most people (no option for different languages), there's only 2 ordering stations, and they're both right in front of the north door entrance to the casino, (so on the weekends there are lines in the way as soon as you walk in from about 7 to 1030). As for the food, it's mediocre, over-priced, and usually over-cooked. The staff is nice, but half the time they miss items that you ordered either because they're confused, slammed, the ordering system doesn't show some items on your receipt for some reason, or some combination or culmination of the three. I've had the chance to check out Jake's Deli on a few visits to the Lodge in Black Hawk. As most casino eateries are, it's a bit expensive, particularly with the Rockstar Energy Drink products being sold at a whopping $4 per can. Just so everyone knows, if you can deal with 'em, NOS products are only $3.50 at the Isle and the Lady Luck, so take that extra coin and put it in a slot or video poker machine instead! However, if you're just looking to dump off comp dollars, it's not a bad spot. They do a pretty good cheesesteak, and there's a full blown condiment bar if you like going extra heavy on the pickles and peppers as I do. On that note, it's just like Quizno's. Other features include one of those futuristic utensil dispensers. Just push a button, and a plastic fork, knife, or spoon will pop out of its respective hole. There's also these trippy little illustrations of cards, dice, poker chips, and slot machines on the paper basket liners. I thought it was a bit unique that they placed a paper basket liner in a paper food basket. It's not really advertised, but drinks are self-serve and complimentary with a meal purchase. The down side is that the cups are really tiny, although it's free refills. Friendly staff and management, worth checking out. read more

This was our first time here and was a bit skeptical, but I was actually pretty impressed by the food and service. We ordered a double cheeseburger, the mushroom swiss burger, the philly cheesesteak and fries. They were overall really good. The bread could use some improvements and the portions were a bit small but for the price it wasn't too bad. I would definitely recommend if you would like a good bite for cheap. Horrible place, waiting in line for my food by the counter. The lady that got her food before me had a thick accent and when she CLEARLY asked & POINTED at the to go boxes and asked for another one the food carrier was upset that she had a accent. I went and played Craps and lost 80 dollars on Christmas day, after that I was hungry and looked for a burger for Jakes, the line was long and they only had two people working, I felt sorry for them having to work on Christmas Day, it took about 45 mins to get my burger and it was 10 dollars for a double burger and onion rings, and the soft drinks were free so I figured it was a 90 dollar burger, it was great, and took such a long time but I dont think anyone seemed to care, we were just glad someone showed up on Christmas Day. Had a pizza in the display case, I ordered two pieces of it, they said it's not for sale and I could wait 30 minutes for another one. I said no I'll have something else, then I watched the dude from the back start smashing some of the pizza.
