It took forever to even get service, or our food, and there was 6 customers in the whole place. The food came cold but before I knew it was cold, I asked for salsa (it came with none) and took forever to come back. The moment they left for salsa, I took a bite and realized the food was cold (all of it, beans, rice, tacos). I had to go search for them to come back and told them it was cold. They had it remade (took forever) and they salsa was literally stewed tomatoes from the can. This time, the plate was scalding hot and the waitress gave no warning! Now, it was hot and terrible with canned tomatoes for salsa. Ridiculous and they still charged us! I will go to Johnny Z's but will not ever again eat at the Grill!

They make their breads in-house and I would definitely get that again. I also tried some of my friend's banana bread and that was really delicious too. Didn't get a chance to try these since we had to get to the hot springs soon so thought it's too much food to finish in time, but they had a French toast flight and a Benedict flight, which I've never seen before. The Reuben was outstanding--perfectly grilled with a crispy rye, flavorful corned beef, and just the right balance of Swiss, sauerkraut, and dressing. The green chili soup was rich, comforting, and packed with great Colorado flavor. My wife built her own burger and upgraded to the house salad instead of fries. Everything was fresh, cooked exactly as ordered, and delicious. This has become one of our must-stop restaurants whenever we're headed to Vail. Great food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere every time. Highly recommended--we'll definitely be back!

The bartender was friendly and chatty, and was from another country so he was eager to talk. They have a two part building, with a nice large downstairs too. The brewery has been going for over thirty years, which is a lifetime for this industry. The beer selection was fairly limited compared to the dozens you get at some breweries. They had basically one offering of each type (stout, ipa, lager, ect). There's recipes seem to have been going for years and they have all sorts of old labels from decades ago. Lots of video poker machines if that's your thing, and a cool swag shop. The rest 2/3 of the building is more your typical independent casino. I opted for the Chocolate Stout, and it was fantastic! Never know what you'll get with a new brewery but this was a nice dark beer with lots of malt and sweet Carmel flavor. One of the top stouts I've tried, and I've had a lot! Definitely would be back for that same beer, and to try more!

Unfortunately, the place today feels like a shell of what it once was. The food has always been average, which is something many customers can accept, but poor and disrespectful service is never acceptable. I brought my concerns to the owner, Lisa, hoping they would be taken seriously, but the response was disappointing and dismissive. It's unfortunate to see a longtime local establishment lose the character it once had. Good food and good ownership go hand in hand, and when both are lacking, customers notice. I know I am from Wyoming and will challenge anyone to compete with our states top steak houses, but I think I wouldn't compare this to the worst of them. It's about like eating warm jerky, even then I think there is more moisture in jerky. Never again.
