Food was always good for my taste. It's used to be very crowded but not anymore which is fine for me since I don't have to wait to get a table.

I was in Katy for a business trip and my friend brought me here for dinner. I had tried Tim Ho Wan before and felt it was just okay, but this visit was much better than I expected. The food tasted fresher, the service was friendly, and the overall experience felt more polished than before. The baked BBQ pork buns were definitely the highlight, and a few of the dim sum dishes we ordered were solid as well. I know the reviews here are a bit mixed, but based on my experience this time, I feel like they've improved a lot, I'd be happy to come back next time I'm in town.

First round had the Wontons in Hot & Spicy Sauce which was alright, as well as the Steamed Rice with Minced Beef and Egg which I also thought was alright. Second round got the Pan Fried Noodles with BBQ Pork which I thought had great flavor but was a bit dry. Adding some chili sauce made it better. Then also tried the Baked BBQ Pork Buns which were really really good: soft, crispy, sweet, savory. Amazing! For dessert the Sweet Osmanthus Jelly was just not for me, but the Lava Custard Sesame Balls were increeeedible.

Just wow! The BBQ pork bun is a must-try. It's a HK-style pineapple bun filled with the most tender char siu. I'm definitely coming back just for that. I can see how the original THW got a Michelin star.

You just can't go wrong with this place either for delivery or dining in. Phenomenal. Everything is great. The steamed BBQ buns are addictive and a must for everyone. Top quality cooks, all fresh and never a doubt about enjoying the food when trying to think of somewhere to eat or order from. Never a worry about enjoying the food. Best Dim Sum in Katy.

Tim Ho Wan has Michelin star in HK, so we come here to try it out even though this location doesn't have any award. I would say this is the standard for dim sum, nothing extortionately. No fillers, no food coloring like many other places. Menu is smaller than expected, but they focus on quality than quantity.

Absolutely delicious! Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying--easily the best dim sum I've ever had. Some dishes were a bit salty, but that might just be the soy sauce and dim sum style in general. Still, the quality and taste really stood out. The service was friendly and quick, which made the experience even better. The ambiance was nice--clean and comfortable, though nothing fancy. I read that the original location in Hong Kong earned a Michelin star. I'm not sure this one quite hits that level, but it was definitely delicious and absolutely worth coming back for. Looking forward to trying more next time!

My Christmas wish? For Tim Ho Wan to open a location in The Woodlands! I swear my sister and I talk about this place weekly... how we're craving it, but it's just so far. So, we've tried literally every dim sum and dumpling place in The Woodlands area and even closer to town. No one comes close. This visit, we had our regular favs: Har Gao, Cheung Fun, Sticky Rice in Lotus Leaf, plus others including the deep fried eggplant and shrimp and garlic broccolini. As always, pleasant moaning could be heard from our table as we devoured our feast. For dessert, we tried a wonderful sesame offering, which was crisping the outside and soft, chewy (like mochi) and slightly sweet inside. Delicious! Aside from a shrieking child, the dining room was pleasantly chill, and they always keep it very clean. We have already discussed our next visit, bringing other family members next time :)

Food: Pork/shrimp siu mai, steamed bean curd w/ shrimp, meat, and veggies, and the sticky rice in lotus leaf. We weren't too hungry, but I wanted to try this place. We got a few of our favorite dim sum dishes from their very limited dim sum menu. All were delicious and very flavorful. Service: Staff are super friendly and fast. Other: Came here for the first time. Portions were decent. Probably the best dim sum place that we've eaten at in Texas so far. We'll definitely be back if we're ever in the area again. It's pricer than other dim sum places, but quality is legit. Just wish they had more dim sum options. Their dim sum choices are limited and missing a lot of the classic dishes. Large parking lot.

First time to Tim Ho Wan and employee Pong made this experience really amazing. We enjoyed our dim sum and we ordered a little bit of everything so we can full immerse into trying what Tim Ho Wan had to offer. Staff is friendly. Vibe is great and more upscale than other dim sum places. There's no carts but you can order fresh dim sum from the menu. There's a private area I think you can reserve for price dinning behind the circle door gate. It's kinda hidden because the door blends with the wall. We came during brunch and it was pretty busy. We were lucky to be seated immediately. We ordered: * 5/5 Cucumber in spicy sauce : refreshing and well balanced. Great to cut through the fired dim sums. * 5/5 baked bbq buns: we loved this so much that we ordered extras to go! Meaty and the flavor was outstanding! Must try! * 4/5 Steamed Dumplings with Shrimp and Chives: very strong in chive flavor but I loved it! * 3/5: Steamed Pork Spare Rib with Black Bean Sauce: the black bean flavor was lacking. * 4/5:Steamed Pork Dumplings with Shrimp: pretty good * 1/5: Bralsed Chicken Feet with Abalone Sauce and Peanut: the feet were still chewy and hard * 1/5 *Pan Fried Turnip Cake: it fell apart and did not hold together. It's crumbly and texture was off. * 3/5 Deep Fried Dumplings with Pork and Dried Shrimp: a bit oily , it was ok * 3/5 Deep Fried Eggplant with Shrimp: juicy wnd good. Texture of the shrimp is spot on. I wish the sauce was thicker and black bean flavor was added to give it Unami. It's basically soy with eggplant shrimp * 3/5: *Crispy Golden Shrimp Balls very oily shrimp was good * 1/5Five Spices Fermented Bean Curd Chicken Wings lack in flavor and it ended more spices. Crispy and juicy inside but the flavor is bland. * 1/5 fried Shrimp Dumplings with Wasabl Sauce * 5/5 *Lava Custard Sesame Ball: it was delicious! We ordered some to go to eat later! * 5/5 Sweet Osmanthus Jelly with Goji Berries: so refreshing and delicious great way to end our dim sum. Do I recommend tim ho wan? Yes dim sum is good and different from other dim sum places. Great experience and service is great! We had a lot left over and Ping bagged everything for us. We look forward to coming back for the bbq pork buns! So good!

Fried rice. Don't get it. Not worth it.

No wait for table Sunday 2pm. (Parking is stupid packed , circled the lot. ) no wait staff came by to take our order for drinks or food. I eventually had to wave a waiter down. I ordered the hot chrysanthemum tea , smoky plum drink (mildly sweet. I liked it) and a variety of dishes. I recommend the cucumbers, dumplings in spicy sauce, shrimp rice rolls, crispy shrimp balls. I don't recommend the fried rice or the green beans. Overall pretty good but not the best dim sum. Definitely hyped up. Service pretty sucked. I had to walk my order form to the manager standing at the stand to get my check and to go boxes. And he forgot the bag so I had to walk up to the stand and ask for that. There's plenty of staff but they're all huddling by the kitchen. Really annoying.

    Sticky rice in lotus leaf

I ordered food via Door Dash during a near Sub-Zero day. Had the weather been warner, the delivered food would have been warmer too. I ordered the following and I enjoyed every single one of them 1.Pan Fried Noodles 2.Braised Beef Brisket with Thin Rice Noodles in Soup 3.Steamed Bean Curd with Shrimp, Meat 4.Sticky Rice in Lotus Leaf

S22 Scallop Siu Mai; S6. Steamed Shrimp Dumplings

I definitely think that they deserve more stars than they have currently. I'm originally from Hong Kong, and I do have higher expectations for dim sum. I like that they have a variety of dim sum available and they are ready to be served within a reasonable time. The Sui mai and shrimp dumplings are probably my favourites. It is difficult to find a good dim sum restaurant in Texas since most of them are not authentic. However, the pricing is definitely on the higher side. The service is great and quick. They also have a massive parking lot outside of the restaurant.

It's especially convenient for anyone living in Katy and looking for a solid, reliable place to dine. My wife absolutely loves their house special rice cake--it's a must-order appetizer for us every time we visit. For this meal, we went all out (as we usually do) and ordered a variety of dishes: General Tso's chicken, orange beef, shrimp with candied walnuts, beef and chicken flat noodles, and a side of spicy green beans. We always end up ordering a bit more than we need, but that's part of the experience--everything tastes great, and the leftovers easily turn into additional meals later in the day. Tan Tan Wok consistently hits the spot with flavorful dishes and satisfying portions. It's a place we genuinely look forward to coming back to. On average, we spend around $85-$90 including tip, which is well worth it considering the amount of food and leftovers you get. Highly recommend if you're craving quality Chinese food and enough to feed family of 4 with plenty of leftovers.

Ooof! It was a sad weekend dinner at Tan Tan. I will begin…read moreby saying I've eaten at 6 Katy Asiatown restaurants so far and been disappointed with all of them but wasn't expecting Tan Tan to fail. Of course we started with tried and true Banh Bot Chien which was our first disappointment. It was super oily and the Banh wasn't cooked through to be a little crispy or browned like original Tan Tan in Chinatown. We also ordered Canh Chua Ca.... It looked tasty and with all the right ingredients but the taste?! sugar!!! It was so sweet and most likely had canned pineapple and honestly it tasted like they poured the syrup inside . Our 3rd dish was the eggplant with garlic sauce. The minute the waiter put the fish down, we looked at each other because it was an oil slick. The flavor was on point except all the oil. The fourth dish was flat noodles with "beef and broccoli". I put quotations because that's what I ordered but we got no broccoli but instead got combo: beef, chicken and shrimp. We didn't complain, we just kept it. This dish was lacking flavor. The chicken was bone dry and the shrimp had that "frozen shrimp smell". The beef was the only thing edible on that dish, but barely. One of our kids wanted hot and sour soup which came in one size. Again when this came out, a thick layer of oil sat on the top.... I've never seen this before at any restaurant, even Chinese buffets. I scooped out as much of the oil off the top to let her eat it. Disappointment, yet again. There was no hot or sour taste. It tasted like oily chicken broth with extra stuff in it. On top of that, they had the same dry chicken that they used in the flat noodles. It was just one big disappointment after another. I couldn't believe it. I love Tan Tan in Bellaire but will never come to this location again. Not sure why all these Asiatown restaurants have the flavors off. Perhaps they are trying to appeal to the majority non Asian customers by using different ingredients? Or maybe they think people won't notice? I don't know but I hope the manager will do kitchen /good taste checks asap and get it back on track and back to tradition.

As I dug deeper, I read Jando's glowing review word-for-word and found myself salivating. Well, I ventured out to S. Mason for lunch, found the place easily, appreciated the ample and free parking, and walked in. I had read before that they used to be closed on Tuesdays and Saturdays, but now they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays but open for dinner on Saturdays. (See my photos.) Anyhow, we walked in and found the place homey. Nothing fancy - just a nice, clean, homey Malaysian restaurant. Not too big, and not too small. We placed our order of roti canai, stir fried flat rice noodles, seafood sizzling tofu, and topped it off with a Malaysian milk tea. Oh my - we were satisfied and stuffed as a party of 2. We ended up boxing up almost 40% of the meal. The roti was near perfection - crispy, hot, flaky. The dipping sauce was perfectly seasoned with the right amount of heat. It included chunks of chicken and potato. You must absolutely order this one. I love me some stir fried flat rice noodles so we got that one with chicken. Overall, it was excellent. Portions were a tad smaller than I would like for the price. Also it could use a little bit of hot sauce so we asked for a side of sriracha which they gladly and quickly brought. The sizzling tofu - OMG so good. I can't even explain it. I just love it so much and the portions are huge. I'm not sure what the vegetable flavor would taste like but we tried the seafood one and have no regrets. Lastly the milk tea was just because we felt like splurging and it was also a great decision. The tea flavor itself is deep and the overall drink is very nice. We got it iced. And an honorable mention - we ran into Uncle Chin (at least we assume it was Uncle Chin) and told him his food was amazing. I think he really appreciated it. He seems like a super nice guy and I want his business to do really well. If that wasn't Uncle Chin then we talked to a random person and raved about the food... I've never had tofu with this texture before. The outside is slightly crisp and the inside so light and fluffy, it feels like bitting into a cloud. The tofu tastes like a creamy egg soufflé and the sauce is savory and salty with pieces of sauté onions that add a nice crunch.
