They served snacks and drinks at the waiting area outside the restaurant, which was a nice touch while waiting. We had the Saba fish fillet, and it was really nice, the fish meat was smooth, and fresh. For soup base, we had the tomato, Tom Yum, and pork broth, and all three were good. The beef brisket and pork belly were also great. As always, I enjoyed the self-serve snacks, sauces, and desserts. There's a good variety. Halfway through our meal, there was a "change face" show. It was very loud and honestly gave us a headache. We had to take turns stepping outside the restaurant for some quiet before coming back in. The birthday special was a tiramisu cake, and that was awesome.

I'm uncertain how to rate my experience, because we left feeling bamboozled. When we entered the host asked us what menu we wanted. We explained it was our first time in and he nodded and seated us. Our waitress came over with an iPad and hurried away and said she'd be back. It took a while so we went ahead and ordered the base soups from the iPad, but when the waitress came back she explained how the order was already in and can't be canceled so we couldn't order the deluxe set menu. Which was disappointing, because the cost has now increased significantly. Then she talked us into the dancing noodles, which we agreed on because it was our birthday dinner. Unfortunately, she came back to say it wasn't available because the chef was not working. At this point we should have just left. We ordered lamb, meat, tofu, fish balls, beef tendon balls, assorted vegetables and mushrooms as well as the sauce bar. Food was great, a fun experience with the robot and cooking at the table. Everything was fresh and well organized. I just wish that we were informed of the deluxe menu vs the pick and choose. We left there paying about $150 with tip for 2 people. Tried to email the management as offered, but the email address does not appear to exist as I got a Failure Notice immediately.

Came here for a birthday celebration and they did such a cute job with the decoration and accommodations!! Thank you Chris for being an amazing waitress

Introducing to my American to eat hotpot and they love it. They haven't had Asian hotpot before and they live by Katy area. Food was good as usual but the prices did go up a lot. Overall we like it

I had seen so these reels pop up and gift packs for your visit to haidilao. You must get the dancing noodles. It's a whole production and definitely worth the cost. The food and pork was good. The fish balls and shrimp balls were definitely fun with a burst of flavor. Though watch out because to does get very hot and you can easily burn your tongue.

Everything was amazing! I brought my sister for her fort time trying hotpot and we had Kai as our server. Kai did an amazing job making sure we had everything we needed to enjoy the ambiance and the food.

Whenever I'm craving hot pot in Katy, Haidilao is the place I go to. It's usually busy, but I've never had to wait more than 30 minutes for a table. The inside of the restaurant is brightly lit, and the mix of music and chatter creates an inviting atmosphere. The staff is friendly and attentive! They provide aprons, wet wipes, and even hair ties for guests with long hair. They also offer complimentary snacks and appetizers to start your hot pot journey off right. Throughout the meal, they come by often to clear empty plates, which I really appreciate. One thing I love most about Haidilao is their extensive menu. There is so much to choose from! You place your orders on the iPad provided, which is super convenient. Their portions are generous, and I like that some menu items come in a half portion. It makes it easier to try more dishes without committing to a full serving. I highly recommend their spicy pork soup base. I get it every time I'm there! It has the perfect level of spice that stimulates your appetite. I also love their dynamite lobster balls. They have a sweet filling that pairs well with the savory hot pot ingredients. Haidilao also offers a great sauce bar where you can create your own dipping sauce. And don't forget to end your dinner on a sweet note with vanilla and/or chocolate ice cream from the ice cream machine! Although Haidilao is on the pricier side for hot pot, the delicious food, the wonderful service, and the overall experience make it absolutely worth it.

Amazing food with a huge variety of options, it was so hard to choose that we ended up ordering a little of everything, and it was all delicious. The service was outstanding; the staff went above and beyond to explain the menu and suggest great pairings. They were especially kind and patient with our kids, which we truly appreciated. The restaurant has a very modern vibe and honestly feels like stepping into China. Everything was clean, including the bathrooms. If you're looking for a fun, family‑friendly dining experience, this is definitely the place. We'll absolutely be back!

General: A Chinese Hotpot located in Katy Asia Town. À la carte style, not AYCE. Good: - Clean - Friendly staff - Has private rooms. (requires minimum order amount) - Menu offers a variety of items including pork brain and duck blood. (not sure if I would order that again but I like to try everything once) - You can create your own sauce at the bar with different bases. Bad - Parking is a hassle during busy times. Side note: - Reservation is recommended during peak times. - Chinese hotpot is different than Japanese style shabu shabu. Not really my style of hotpot but I would go again.

    Olive G.

It was very good and the staff were nice. But it's a couple dollars extra to get to use the sauce bar. The meat was good, but they didn't have many vegetable options. The inside was nice but it was rather loud at times. It's probably a good place to bring your children along with you

    Fazley R.

Really solid hot spot with great customer service. They have a sauce bar, which is extra, that allows you to create custom dipping sauces. The sauce bar also holds decent sides such as edamame and chicken. I definitely recommend you get any version of their Tom Yum hotpots. Be aware some of their spicy hotpots are mouth-numbingly spicy. Be sure to ask before ordering. Their ordering is done thru their tablets and makes your experience so much easier. I'll definitely be back in the future.

Tasty Ko is located further South of I-10 in an assuming plaza. As soon I stepped into the restaurant, I was hit with delicious aromas of KBBQ and seafood sizzling at the tables. I was in the mood for noodles and so was my friend - we ordered the jjamppong and the jiajiangmein. The broth for the jjamppong was super flavorful and deep with seafood notes. There were plenty of veggies (cabbage) and squid. The shrimp were small and kind of mushy - probably from a frozen bag or just not fresh. I didn't mind though. The serving size of noodles were perfect, and maybe a little bit more than I wanted since I couldn't finish the whole bowl. The jiajiangmein looked equally as delicious - my friend said there was a lot of onion in the sauce. The array of banchan consisted of kimchi, marinated bean sprouts, cold kimchi pancake, and marinated spicy cucumber. Yummy banchan as well. Tasty Ko is a great spot if you're not wanting to drive all the way to the Spring Branch area for Korean food, and not wanting to spend an arm and a leg at Katy Asian Town. For entrees, we split the orange chicken and the Spicy/Numbing Pot. The orange chicken was spot on. The sauce was sweet but not painfully sweet or thick/clumpy. Really nice orange flavor and tender chicken. So much fun eating it since it is gluten free! Our kiddo also devoured this dish! Mild - not spicy at all! The Spicy Numbing Pot, while a little oily/greasy on the bottom, was still delicious! I appreciated that it wasn't knock your socks off spicy - it had a solid kick, and so flavorful. I love eating dishes with Sichuan Pepper; it has a lot of flavor, and the tingling is so much fun. This dish was perfect with some rice, and it wasn't too heavy for the middle of the day. The prices were really reasonable, and there was enough food for leftovers which we ate later that night. Our only regret is not getting the duck appetizer, but we will be sure to get it next time. I love how they added matcha powder on top. For drinks, I also tried their espresso martini and Bubbly Pineapple. The espressos here are good, no complaints. The Bubbly Pineapple is so cute; it comes out with a bubble of smoke you can pop. The drink is very refreshing; it really tastes like pineapple. FYI, the drink has little black seeds, so if you don't like textures in your drink, maybe this one isn't for you. Also the drink came with a little frozen pineapple you can add to your drink once you pop the bubble As an appetizer, I got a dozen raw oysters and decided to add the $5 tobiko (fish eggs). Let me say, they were not stingy with the Tobiko, there was so much on my Oysters, I mean a lot! The oysters were good, and so was the tobiko, but I feel that with so much tobiko, it kind of took away from the oysters. Still good though, especially for $21 for the dozen with the tobiko! It was very filling I'm not gonna lie, I got pretty full with the oysters, but I still had to eat my entree As an entree, I ordered the Short Ribs, which came with rice and a side salad. I didn't think I was going to eat much of my entree since the oysters had filled me up, but I ate the short ribs down to the bone! Every single one of those ribs I devoured, no meat was left on my plate. I didn't have space to eat, but my stomach made space for this. 10/10 would recommend the short ribs, especially with the delicious sauce it came with. I think it's like a fish sauce 10/10 for food and drinks. Bonus: the staff here is really friendly. I really enjoyed my time here. I need to come more often for sure, this is definitely a Katy gem

It is anything but in point of fact, it is in my estimation, a unique culinary experience. I don't write from the perspective of comparing this food to other Malaysian dishes that I've had in point of fact to the best of my recollection I don't think that I've ever had Malaysian cuisine. But if this restaurant is an example, I have missed a great deal. The food is very unique the servings are very gracious charitable. The prices are incredibly reasonable given the distinction of this particular cuisine and given the portions and quality of food that is served. The service is quite simple and the restaurant is actually quite small. However, I must tell you from A service perspective. It's truthfully amazing because the takeout business is extremely active. Not to mention the fact that the chef walks out and speaks to people will share anything that you want to know about Malaysian food and obviously from the quality of the food that I ate not only is his explanation thorough but my guess is his skills are incredible. As I said it is very small so it's difficult to Alpine about the ambience other than it was quite clean and given the number of whom I suspect were Malaysian people it's obviously quite popular within that community. So I take that to be a sign that this food is quite native in nature. I had a pork meal, which is only on Sundays. I spoke to the chef about it, and he explained that the preparation started one day in advance of actually serving the meal, so I understand why it is only served once a week. Although I must tell you because I lack familiarity it seemed to me that I would be hours and hours trying to replicate any of the dishes. All I can tell you is this if you are in an exploratory mood for a cuisine and have had or have not had Malaysian before I suspect this is a place to go. Quite informal, extremely fair pricing very generous portions great service very pleasant people and frankly it's a a family affair of what you will see many when you go. Quite a lovely experience.
