Tiki Thai is always lovely. The vibes are fun and there are always new selections of cocktails and food. The food comes quickly and is delicious!
Ambiance: Christmas themed decor with a Tiki twist Food: drinks were great and food was good. Service: it was very busy in a Thursday evening. There were 4 bartenders and a bar back. They were slammed. And I think they did a great job with the demands of the patrons. Let me explain the 1 star rating. My friend raised her glass to take a sip of her cocktail. The entire bottom broke from the top and spilled the contents over 4 people. Half my pants leg was covered. Another had her purse drenched. Another her shoes were soaked. The one with the drink - her entire pants was soaked. My friends husband talked to the bar manager and he said he would comp us (4) a drink. So we told the bartender what our friends husband said. The bar manager came over and said he is only going to comp my friends drink that exploded. We all looked at him like "WTF just happened?" His bar back cleaned up the mess around us and saw all the liquid on the ground and stools. I don't even think they check to see if we were ok. The 3 of us paid our tabs and left. I haven't been to Tiki Thai much this year but when I had, I never had an issue. The service from the bar manager was appalling to say the least. There are so many restaurants in Reston Town Center that we can spend our money at and we will from now on.
Ate at bar. No wait to get in. Food and service were amazing. Love the fresh air from the large open front door. I'm a vegan and had plenty of options for me to choose from. Would highly recommend.
What a cool place! The decor was well done and intentional. The food was delicious here. We had the chef's special pad Thai and it was so good. At first it didn't look different than regular pad Thai but the flavors were so much bolder. We also had a tofu dish that was amazing as well. The server was friendly and patiently explained the menu items when we had questions. We look forward to returning next summer!
The drinks were fun and holiday themed. Mine tasted great as well! I loved that the curry puffs came with its own little pot of hot curry it was soooo delicious probably best curry puff I've ever had. The chicken stir fry we got was good and heathy. I would return to try more on the menu. The ambiance was festive for the holidays and the service at the bar was welcoming and quick!
I've been curious about this place since seeing all their Instagram pics. The place did not disappoint. Food, service and most of all ambiance hit the 5 star mark. Same owner as Sense of Thai(multiple locations(, they carried their themed decor to this cute place. The menus, the outdoor patio, bar area and dining room all had personality. Service was great: water glasses and drinks always attended by someone. Multiple people delivering food, explaining items and asking if we needed anything. My friends and I decided to order full entrees since we also wanted to try the Pupu Platter consisting of beef, chicken, pork, salad, pork rinds and sweet rice. It was plenty of food for 3 people. Our entrees included 2 types of curry and the Pad Zee U. All were tasty with plenty of protein in each dish. We all packed plenty of to-go for later. Parking in the lot is free for 3 hours but if you go over the 3 even by 10 minutes then it's $12(that happened to me). They have lunch specials $18 that included a choice of appetizer and a good selection for entrees. We didn't go that route but for my next visit, I may chose that option.
Food is great, drinks are strong. Service is fantastic and the restaurant is so pretty. A nice little outdoor area is great on a sunny day. Walkable from the metro station. Been here at least 10 times and it's always first on the list to treat out of town visitors. No one has ever had a meal they didn't like. Can get pretty spicy, though!
I took my parents with me on a lunch date, my Dad rarely eats out, maybe 2-3x a year because he likes cooking his own food at home. Needless to say, he enjoyed himself and the Lychee Duck Curry. So much so, he even looked up how to make it, it was extremely flavorful and the duck was tender. We were greeted by Fern the hostess who sat us right under some pretty cool artwork. We were waited on by Kiki, Amm and Gina, because shifts were rotating out, they are all so nice and helpful, we got recommendations from each one of them. We placed an order for the drinks and appetizers (everything came out really quickly) and enjoyed ourselves. The restaurant is beautiful and spacious, there's a cherry blossom theme currently with a really cool pink decorated phone booth in the front before you walk in and themed menu. The bar is very nice as well, my parents took a picture in front of it. The food was AMAZING, they have a lunch special menu and from what I saw was what the other patrons were ordering from as well. It's a steal of a deal! Here's what my parents and I ordered: Appetizers: Tom Yum: Chicken, lemongrass, chili, cherry tomatoes, kaffir lime, mushrooms Healthy Roll: Minced chicken, lettuce, carrots, Thai basil, rice noodles, cucumber, rice paper, spicy peanut dipping sauce Calamari: Southern-style fried whole wings, pickled veggies, sticky rice or steamed veggies Hot Gai Wings: Batter fried calamari, Sriracha aioli, shishito peppers Drinks: Love Yuzu Chardonnay North Bound Entree: Shishido beef: Flank steak, shishito peppers, mushrooms, onions, scallions, carrots Lychee duck curry: Duck breast, lychee, finger peppers, cherry tomatoes, Thai basil, pineapple, red curry paste Basil, fried rice: Ground chicken, Thai basil, bell peppers, green beans, finger peppers, fried egg Sa Mui Lo Mein -- Gina told us to try this dish. 100 stars. I would've never ever tried this. Shrimp, minced chicken, egg, onions, Thai basil, bell peppers, pineapple, chili shrimp paste Dessert: Cappuccino Spicy Brownie: Thai chili pepper, dark chocolate, almond tuile, salted caramel ice cream Pina Colada: Pineapple cake, coconut glaze, coconut flake, toasted coconut & chocolate chip ice cream I can't wait to see what's on the summer menu! I'll be back!
Place looks great and Service was good the two times I've been to lunch last week. Pad Zee U is an underrated dish and needs a special mention for anyone tired of Drunken Noodles. The Tom Kha soup was a great pairing for the lunch option
Tiki Thai Reston is one of my favorite place to go to for a late night cocktail. They open til late and you can ask for a drink based on your preference (e.g. sweetness of the drink). The chicken satay was delicious and tasted great! plenty of sauce and great to share. If you like sweet cocktails, choose "free as a bird" , taste like juice alcohol. Price was also reasonable and staff is always so friendly! Would always recommend this place!

Their Mai Thai No.1 ($17 with Jamaican rum, Aged Rum, lime, & juice). Drink responsibly!! Don't drive drunk!! That's it!! STAMP!! Their Tom Kha Colada ($10 with pineapple, ginger, coconut, & Lime). Fresh, & palate cleansing!! STAMP!! Their PuPu Platter ($30 a sampler platter with Sam Tum-a slaw, heaven beef, pork tempura, hot Gai wings, rice, & hot, tamarind, & sweet chili sauce). The ambiance and tiki decor was adorable! I went with my mom and got the pineapple fried rice, it was good but I was hoping it would come inside an actual pineapple like the pictures. I got the chicken satay with peanut sauce too which I really liked. The service was decent and I really want to come back to try their drink menu because it looks like they have a ton of good options!
The food is super good and staff! The food is so yummy and omg the size of that shareable drink! TOP top favorites were the pineapple fried rice and the curry crab dip (the roti!!!) A latex lover's dream. I'm joking. Not really. The balloon decor on the ceiling really did something positive for me as I couldn't stop staring at it and kept pointing out the inflatable sharks and surfboards. Also, it did smell like I was inside of a balloon (I'm assuming the decor was fresh) BUT, don't fret it did not take away from the fantastic food and service. To the real reason of this review, this is my favorite Thai place. I have not had one bad meal here and I look forward to trying much of their stuff on their menu. I opted for their champion pad thai (did indeed make me feel like a champion). It was essentially pad thai in a coconut milk sauce and it was exquisite. Their fried banana is the only rightful way to end the meal. I will always come here, keep coming here, and never will I stop. read more

A friend of mine mentioned how this place had fun drinks and how their drinks come in fun cups too, so I had to check it out. She did not disappoint because the aesthetic of this place was definitely appealing. The ceiling was decorated with various beach floaties and florals. Given that I was driving, I decided not to drink and my drink was still very tasty. Usually mocktails are quite syrupy and are presented very boringly, however, Tiki Thai did quite the opposite. You wouldn't even guess that my drink had no alcohol in it. My boyfriend got the TNA and he thoroughly enjoyed it. My friends got various drinks and no drink was served the same. We also tried the brussel sprouts, larb gai tacos and got two entrees. The sprouts had a nice char, the sauce was surprising as it seemed more mayo like. The larb gai taco was a new take on the classic dish and I thought it was delicious. The tortilla created a good vessel but I wish there was more filling. The entrees we tried were the crying tiger and the drunken noodles. The Crying Tiger, we felt could have been better. The steak felt very flat and on the drier side which could have been due to how flat the steak was. The sauce that comes with crying tiger should be bottled and sold separately. The drunken noodles had a strong char flavor and the noodles held up with some bite. We ended up taking it togo and the flavor overall held up well the next day. Our server was very attentive to us especially whenever our drinks seemed to have depleted. They also took splitting the bill nicely amongst our large group too. read more

This is one of our go to spot for Thai. It has a fun ambiance with good drinks. Our stable dishes are Pad Thai, KaPow fried rice, and crab/chicken fried rice. We also love their appetizers of lamb lollipops, chicken wings and spring rolls. Just tried the pu pu platter recently and it was a good variety. The only miss so far is the beef massaman. The beef is a bit tough. I find Tiki Thai's beef in general is a bit tough even in KaPow Fried Rice. The only tender one is the thin sliced one in the pu pu platter. I would still go back for all the other dishes. read more
Absolutely outstanding! Staying in Reston and my HR rep highly recommended Tiki Thai! A very fun restaurant with a great vibe and decor that pops off the wall. Nice outdoor seating area as well. I debated between several interesting takes that included the chef's version of several Thai favorites. In the end, I did take my server's recommendation which was the "Cry Baby Noodles" that are featured in the Netflix show "Hunger"... I asked about another dish and my server was adamant - Cry Baby Noodles! This was featured on the Chef's Specials. The dish was amazing with thick rice noodles that you see in Drunken Noodle dishes. Awesome flavor... the shrimp was perfect not overcooked and the dish was piping hot. I enjoyed the flavors and found the tiny pieces of sweet pork sausage very tasty and tender. The crumbled egg was also unique with celery mixture. A welcome surprise that I imagine will involve watching Hunger on Netflix! Definitely a must try and I was surprised that the restaurant wasn't higher rated... read more

Great food great service. Really cool casual spot. We walked in after 10 pm and sat at the bar. Bartender was super nice and attentive didn't seem bothered we came in late. Yeah it was great first experience of our time here on the east coast. read more
We came with a party of 10 for dinner and had a so so experience. We ordered a couple of starters and they were delicious, but our meals were a hit or miss e.g. the black pepper chicken was not very good but the lychee duck curry was great. Also, our waitress was pretty unfriendly, had a harder time following us, got some of the orders messed up. Also the place was pretty loud even with the store front open to the patio. read more
I came here with some friends for their taco Tuesday deal. I tried their crispy duck tacos which were decent. The duck was coated and fried which I hadn't expected. The flour tortilla was fairly thick but the hoisin sauce helped to keep the tacos flavorful. The normal price is $14 but I got it half off for taco tuesday so it was $7. Pretty worth it for the deal, but I wouldn't get it at the normal price since I like normal peking duck wraps better. The pandan waffle dessert ($10) was pretty good! It didn't have much pandan flavor and I was surprised at the blue color of the pandan custard since I expected it to be green. The waffle was fluffy on the inside and not too sweet/ flavored. The coconut chocolate chip icecream was also pretty good! The restaurant has good vibez bc everything is decked out in tiki / tropical decor. The food also came out fairly quickly~ read more
Very colorful place. They have indoors and outdoor dining. The service was okay, they are slow at bringing water and responding with the right attitude. The drinks from the bar was amazing, but they up a lot of ice in the drink. The food and appetizers were amazing. I highly suggest the coconut shrimp.... So Good! read more

I had a quick dinner at Tiki Thai during my business trip to Reston, VA. I tried Pat Pad Thai and the food came out piping hot and had a great flavor. The server was also attentive. What is memorable is that I forgot to take a copy of the receipt which is necessary for me to get a reimbursement from my company. I called the restaurant about 30 minutes after I left and the staff was able to locate and send me a copy of the receipt. This is great customer service from a restaurant with great food and a nice vibe. I recommend this restaurant and will be back when I am in the Reston area to try different items. read more
Visited Tiki Thai about 3-4 different times over the past few years. I definitely recommend making a reservation for dinner, especially if going on a Friday or Saturday. Every single time I went, they've been very busy. I've tried a bunch of their cocktails, appetizers and entrees, as well as desserts. I must say I prefer their apps the most. I could have those and be ok with not ordering anything else. Cocktails-wise, I only liked their Holiday on Ice which was a seasonal drink during their Christmas pop-up. It was coffee based which is always a plus for me. Other than that, I don't care much for their drinks. The entrees were alright, nothing special so I won't go into details. For dessert, I always get mango sticky rice at Thai restaurants. This mango sticky rice definitely wasn't all that great compared to other places. Each time I went, service was terrible. The servers were super unfriendly and always took forever. If any of my friends suggested to go back, I wouldn't say no. But I would be just as ok with not ever returning. read more
I'm so sad to give this place a 3 (really a 2.5), but for the price you pay the food was abysmal. We stayed with the spring rolls and too with a curry dip. For 18$ the dip was such a small size and I wasn't a fan of cheese with curry with crabs. The spring rolls were ok for $10. For entrees we got the drunken noodles with tofu and the pad Thai with shrimp. The shrimp was awful, looked fresh but tasted like thawed out microwaved shrimp. The pad Thai lacked flavor and had a ton of hard noodles, again as if it was microwaved. I was terribly disappointed at the lack of flavor and freshness, especially given the price. The place is so cute and packed with people at the bar (where I think alcohol is the selling point). On top of it the service was just ok. Definitely won't be back. read more
We were prompted to go to Tiki Thai after they sent my husband an email telling him about their Reston Town Center West restaurant week menu. We viewed this opportunity as a way to expand our Thai food horizons, as we often seem to get the same items again and again at Thai restaurants. Recently, we were thinking about all the Thai places we've tried in NoVA and came to the conclusion that Tiki Thai is our favorite. I told my husband that I want to bump them up to 5 stars but...he wasn't ready to agree to that. So...I will say "4 1/2 stars" easily. We've only dined in the restaurant twice so far. The rest of the time we got either Doordash or Grubhub delivery. In the end, we both prefer delivery as the place, while attractively decorated, is very noisy. Restaurant week this year goes from 10/24-10/31---so today is the last day to partake of that menu. We ordered both available appetizers. The "grilled pumpkin" was served in a curry sauce that wasn't very spicy. That was a good move by the chef as pumpkin isn't strongly flavored on its own. Thus the sauce didn't drown out the pumpkin. The other appetizer was "crispy salmon roll" which was very well executed. A piece of cooked salmon with skin was placed in a roll which was fried. On top was a generous amount of salmon roe plus a cilantro garnish. A soy based dipping sauce accompanied this. The roll add a nice crunch as did the roe and the dipping sauce was perfect to tie it all together. When it came to the main course, I ordered "pan seared salmon" which sat on top of a curry sauce and was garnished with fresh mint leaves.. My husband ordered "lamb shank massaman" which came with boiled potatoes and sauteed pumpkin. We both tasted each other's dinners. The consensus was that the salmon was properly prepared, thus not dried out. The curry sauce wasn't very strong---again a good move on the chef's part. The lamb shank was served with the bone and the portion was very generous. The meat was tender and flavorful and not at all gamy. There was some fat on the shank but I think it helped keeping the lamb from drying out. This was all coated in a curry sauce, again not too spicy. We were given one bowl of plain white rice and one of curry rice. The curry rice was the spiciest part of the meal. We ended up not eating very much of it. All in all, dinner cost $90 before the tip. That included the Singha beer my husband ordered. I stuck with water. A splurge to be sure but we don't regret it. read more
my dad hypes this place up everytime we come to reston and we finally gave it a try !!! the ambiance is soo cute and i loved the decor. the food was super bomb, absolutely loved the tai curry :) was super excited for the chiang mai ramen but it wasn't as soupy and peanut-y as i'd hoped but it was still super good. the mai tai was hella strong i got so goner after like 3 sips and had to fake sobriety to the fam LOL read more
Such a cute and festive place with amazing food/drinks!! If you're looking for something Hawaiian themed and bonus during Christmas time, then this is it. My boyfriend and I went for date night and we enjoyed everything. We ordered some Crispy Pork Skin to start, Bang Bang Shrimp Pad Thai, Pineapple Fried Rice, Thai Tea, and a Mai Tai. We originally wanted the Pork Belly but ordered the Pork Skin by mistake but it was still crunchy and delicious. The Pad Thai was not your normal Pad Thai with soft noodles but instead crispy noodles. It was very tasty along with the juicy shrimp. The fried rice was very soft, buttery, and flavorful. Our drinks paired so well with all the food and came in the cutest cups. The service was excellent even with it being so busy. I would definitely recommend this place and will be back! :) read more

I always come to tiki Thai if I'm ever in the area. The hospitality here is always amazing and the service is top notch. It's a more trendy modern vibe with authentic food! We always order the curry crab dip (AMAZING) and I always get the pineapple fried rice. All the other dishes ordered were amazing, nonetheless. It's full of great authentic flavor and never fails to impress me. The food doesn't take too long to come out, and it always tastes super fresh! Highly recommend if you're in the area and craving authentic Thai food! read more
My first time at Tiki Thai was a positive experience! The food was good and we got to try various items across the menu. We started off with Wilshire cocktail which I enjoyed - it was more 'herby' so I would only recommend it if you're not opposed to tasting basil and cucumber as an after taste. All the appetizers and main courses that we ordered were great. The portions are a bit smaller than I was expecting, but the quality was 10/10. The healthy rolls were *chefs kiss*, I would definitely recommend. The only complaint that I have was the noise inside of the restaurant. The music was especially loud, and we would have chosen to sit outside (which was set up very nicely), but it was a bit too hot & humid for a baby, since we had a 1 year old with us. read more

VIBES ALL AROUND! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was electric - great drinks, friendly service, and an ambiance that just draws you in. We started with the intention of a quick drink, but ended up happily chatting at the bar for ages, all thanks to those delicious cocktails and the infectious energy of the place. Those little tiki glasses were the cutest touch, by the way! They definitely added to the overall experience. Now I'm seriously craving some food to pair with those amazing drinks next time. Overall a yummy dinner... started with a salmon egg roll on the specials list. Highly recommend! Hubby and I split the redeye 2 Singapore drink ... easily could be for 4 with a small pour... surprised it was so chocolatey in taste... I had the quack quack... hubby the garlic beef flank steak. Both tasty My only neg on the place is way toooo noisy for our taste... I'd rather things were a bit quieter... bar was jumping with hardly any standing room.. we Sam early so no issues on seating... that said they do reservations on their website Menu has lots of interesting cocktails... be adventurous read more

They definitely have a descriptive name. Tiki drinks available with Thai food. The tiki drinks are quite strong. The food was fine but again nothing outstanding. Their appetizer platter also had a very nice presentation. The service was a little slow and it seemed like there was more hype than anything else. We lost an appetizer but somehow got another appetizer after insisting it wasn't for us they just took it away. As a tiki purest it was just drinks in fancy glasses. For me it was a pass but I can see instagrammers loving it here. read more
Fantastic lunch special, we both really enjoyed our meal of healthy spring rolls, Tom yum, pad Thai ( so good- not too sweet) and drunken noodle (a tad spicy for us but good nevertheless). Had a good time here. The food was delicious but some dishes could be improved. We ordered: Thai steak taco: good Thai mussels: good,the sauce was very flavorful Lychee duck curry: the curry sauce was delicious but duck meat tasted like it was microwaved and dry. I expected better meat for a pricey dish Chicken skewers: ground chick was a bit dry, tamarind sauce was good but nothing too special Secret garden salad: was good but again not too impressive since the sauce tasted similar to Som Tum and next time I probably wouldn't order this read more
Stopped by for a friend's birthday. They have outdoor seating but you cannot make a reservation for it. We got there at 5:30 pm and only had to wait fifteen minutes to be sat. We ordered the following dishes: Panang Curry Drunken Noodles Tai Curry Angry Shrimp Taco Thai Tea Creme Brûlée Coconut Banana I really enjoy my Thai food spicy and this place delivered. Combined with the spice tray I was able to get my eyes watering. The real heroes of the meal were the desserts. We initially ordered mango sticky rice but were told the dish was sold out so instead we got the creme brûlée and coconut banana. The creme brûlée was super fluffy with a hard coating on top. It tasted just like Thai ice tea and wasn't overly sweet. The coconut banana is really unique and looks like a deep fried banana. When you bite into it you get refreshing coconut mixed with banana. The dish is topped with ice cream to keep it light. Quick note: We were charged 20% gratuity as a party of 5 adults and 2 infants. The infants did not order anything but I just thought it was interesting that we reached the party size to get it automatically added on. read more
Unbeatable atmosphere and fantastic food. I have been to Tiki Thai many times and every time I go (or order take out) the food is fantastic. The menu has a wide selection of food (both classic and non-classic dishes). I typically get the "Spicy Basil" or the "Tom Yum Soup" both of which I would recommend. Many of the dishes can be made vegetarian which makes it a great option for those who do not eat meat. They also have a section for food allergies when ordering online which is an amazing addition that I have not seen too many restaurants have for online orders. Not only is the food great but the atmosphere is unbeatable. During happy hour or really any evening Tiki Thai is packed with people and filled with energetic conversation. The decorations are fun, and the seating has a good amount of space between tables. The front patio is a nice mix between indoor and outdoor seating due to the sliding glass doors/windows that are open when there is nice weather. Tiki Thai is a good place to go for lunch or dinner. I recommend going with anyone as the food is really enjoyable and the environment is suited for pretty much any occasion. read more
Food (5/5): The food is fantastic. I always get the lunch special here - $15 gets you a choice of appetizer and main dish. The shrimp summer roll is amazing- though I always get this uncut. If it is cut, the sauce leaks to through to the bottom and it's super messy. I'm a sucker for their Chicken Pad Thai. Pad Thai is really hard to get right - the noodles can get mushy or the sauce isn't right. This place has mastered it! Service (4/5): It is hit or miss here which is my only reduced star. Some days it's amazing but others it takes forever to get the check or the food. Like, right now I'm trying to get take out and no one is at the hostess stand to help me.
