Black Sugar Boba Black Tea Latte With Cream
    Jeff M.

Tiger Sugar 129 E. 45th. St. New York, NY 10017 Black Sugar Boba Black Tea Latte with Cream Mousse In the east section of NYC is a bubble tea shop that shares its lease with a Taiwanese chicken joint. It doesn't hurt to choose one of the delicious bubble teas to supplement your meal at this shared location. It's cold, refreshing and highly satisfying. As a bonus, you can conveniently order chicken if you happen to be there between 11:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

Came in wanting a sweet treat for my partner and I. The drinks are excellent, the #4 brown sugar boba milk + espresso coffee + pearl with cream mousse definitely satisfied that craving. The only downside was paying for a $3 cream puff that wasn't even filled all the way? Other than that, service was quick and friendly.

I tried Tiger Sugar's new pastries, and they were really fresh and crispy. I especially liked the strawberry egg tart and croissants, though the croissants were quite small--they looked more like mini croissants. I'd recommend going for the egg tarts and cream puffs instead. The place is on the smaller side, but the brown sugar boba was as good as always!

During the lunchtime, the crowds come in waves so it can't be empty then it gets crowded. It shares a space with Chunky Boss. Chucky Boss serves chicken cutlets or chicken nuggets. The sandwiches are always sold out. It comes with a medium drink (selected items indicated by a sticker, no sticker means there is an extra charge). It takes about 5-10 minutes for the food to be ready. There are a limited amount of drinks compared to other tiger sugar locations though there is still a decent selection. If you are in the neighborhood, give it a try.

I first heard of Tiger Sugar a couple of years ago, when it was being touted as the new "it" bubble tea chain. Besides their products being aesthetically pleasing, Tiger Sugar advertises that they have a special process to cook their syrups and tapioca pearls that sets them apart from their competitors. I do partake in bubble tea every once in a while; there are a few spots near my home and my work I go to whenever I'm in the mood for something sweet. I noticed this TS recently opened near my office, and a few of my colleagues were curious to check it out - so off we went. Like most bubble tea spots I've been to, TS is not large - it's actually a bit smaller than other spots since they do not offer any seating. Still, the space has an open feel due to the light colors and effective decor they use. Immediately upon entry, we were greeted with an ordering kiosk, which we utilized to place our order. Since it was my first time, I wanted their signature bubble tea: brown sugar milk tea with boba, pearl, and cream mousse. After a short wait, our teas were ready. I thought the tea was great - it was a bit too sweet for my personal taste, but that comes with the territory of what I ordered (I usually like only 30% sugar, and this definitely tasted like a higher sweetness content). The boba they used were also smaller than I've seen in other places, which I don't think is necessarily better but provided a unique mouthfeel. Service was fast and friendly, and overall I thought Tiger Sugar put out some good tea (in addition to some great Instagram opportunities). I'm curious to see what other types of tea they offer, so a return visit is definitely in order.

This would be my second Tiger Sugar location but first time visiting this one. It's combined with Chunky Boss. As always nothing can go wrong with a Bubble Tea, I consider it to be number one in reference to their black sugar bobas. Had to get one for the co worker too.

Tiny bubble tea/chicken cutlet store with a few seats and casual vibe. I got the classic brown sugar with boba and pearls. I didn't know what the difference was between boba and pearls but apparently at this shop they meant one is normal sized boba and one is smaller sized boba. The boba is soaked in tasty brown sugar syrup and the drink itself also have brown sugar syrup so it can be quite sweet but not overpowering. They don't allow customization of the sugar or ice levels. Prices are typical for bubble tea in the area. Service was very quick since there aren't many customers at night.

First time at Tiger Sugar and the milk used is very mikly and thick like very whole milk substance and additional frothy toppings. Too much lactose for my tasting and very many options which can be overwhelming. I just stick to signature drink of brown sugar boba. They also accept Apple Pay and looks like offered fried chicken karage but only at lunch hour. Also across street from office in nyc so convenient located in midtown east offices.

Very small location, with around 5-7 seats, but went in and ordered immediately with the cashier. It smells intensely sweet inside the restaurant! I got the Tiger Mango Sago, but it wasn't super sweet and there was a ton of sago, and some cream on the top that came out when I poked it. I definitely think next time I'll try the brown sugar boba, as that's what they're known for, but I wasn't in the mood for something excessively sweet. There were chunks of mango and sago and some other type of jelly that were pretty good, but also a ton of ice, so maybe will ask for less ice for any other drinks. Wish I could have seen the inside of my drink though :0

It was great to see Tiger Sugar open a new location in Midtown East. They share a location with Chunky Boss which is a Taiwanese chicken cutlet joint. My favorite drinks here are the signature black sugar boba tea and the matcha boba tea with cream mousse. Prices are pretty high ($7+ for a large), but the drinks are very good.

OMG, supposedly this new Tiger Sugar open a month ago under my very nose, and I didn't notice. I think I am getting too old for this Yelp game because normally, I would know while the place was being constructed and have been the first one here. But anyway, the flavors are still tops and I got my favorite latte drink. But soon the weather heats up a bit, I will try that mango drink they have now.

Very excited about this new location! They have some very innovative and interesting new items for the summer - the fruity refreshing drinks with tons of toppings and add ins. You can order on the iPad yourself, pretty convenient and introvert friendly lol The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable of their items and was very helpful. They also have a fried chicken place in the same store. Didn't get to try the fried chicken but it certainly smelled incredible and delicious!

I just found Tiger Sugar open up in this area. This location is offering promotion this month, and I got a free coffee milk tea from the first time visit. The vibe is slow comparing to other locations. Staff seems a little bit bored because it's slow. The coffee milk tea is good and worth to try it out. But it does not make me feel surprised.. I would love to try other drinks, such as the strawberry bubble milk tea which seems more tasty. Free drink in a cold weather, cannot ask for more. :)

I've never been to a yogurt store that makes you pay a set price first before selecting toppings, which also means toppings are limited based on the yogurt size (something I only realized later after looking at a picture I took in the store). The employee who was supposed to help me immediately gave me attitude, as if I was supposed to already know all the "rules" of the store. I said nothing that would have warranted that reaction -- I simply went over to the display. At the register, I scanned my rewards app then couldn't find the card reader to pay. After about 20 seconds, I realized it was sitting on top of a case of water bottles (pictured). The topping limit signage was also placed off to the side of the register where customers wouldn't naturally see it -- it wasn't even on my side and was partially blocked. I only found this out when I went up to the counter after I got my yogurt. While choosing toppings, I asked how many I was allowed, and she responded, "How many toppings do you think you're supposed to choose?" with a noticeably rude tone. When I chose cookie dough as my fourth topping, she only gave me a few pieces, dropped another on the counter (pictured), and ignored it. The cookie dough topping was stale too. I also noticed she did not seem to treat other customers the same way. I eventually went back to the register - I asked her if the yogurt was actually strawberry matcha because it tasted like vanilla. I also asked about her rudeness because I genuinely didn't understand why I was being treated that way for asking simple questions. She said the information was "on the wall," even though it was difficult to see. I actually ended up apologizing earlier because she made me feel like I was burdening her. The only personable thing she said the entire interaction was that I didn't need to apologize, but the tone still felt unfriendly. Two customers sitting nearby ended up leaving without ordering. I understand it was Super Bowl Sunday and she appeared to be working alone, which may have contributed to stress. Still, I left feeling extremely shaken and even spilled yogurt on my jacket afterward. I would not return to this location. I used to come to this location sometimes, but after this experience -- and a previous visit where I ordered a tea and received very little -- I would not return.

Ahh, grass jelly loeng4 fan2 涼粉 is my childhood favorite dessert and summons nostalgia! The grass jelly topping is New York City standard priced at $0.50 at least there is sustainability and a sense of normalcy. I requested regular ice, but the entire ice dispensed disappointedly melted and the drink became room temperate. Heat wave medium $6.00 Passionfruit green tea with grass jelly, 50%, light sugar. The drink alone was good quality. While scanning the electronic menu the drink names appear very comical and not business appropriate as well as this bubble tea business name Ho Ho Te. The sound speakers is boisterously loud blasting music directly at my face by the ordering counter. The cashier associate was 90% inaudible of her customer service questions due to the boisterously loud blasting music as I had to fight loud vs. loud by blurting loudly several times: "WHAT?" Why would a business intentionally place sound speakers in front of a ordering counter station where customers must communicate their food/drink orders? How can customers place their drinks orders with clear specific description/instructions only for the cashier associate to inadvertently obfuscate by misinformation because the message conveyed was utterly misinterpreted? Communication is vital for ordering and order fulfillment accuracy in the food service industry! The cardboard paper straws available are environmentally sustainable friendly for biodegradable and compostable. However, these cardboard straws taste AWFULl!! The drink selection is very limited menu compared with other bubble tea competitors. Disappointedly there is no Jasmine green tea on the menu. There are some food items.
