I was at an event at the conference center and wanted to find a place Off-site for a business meeting and somewhere with good coffee... Tiger cafe checked both boxes! Service was very friendly and very quick. I was greeted with a warm smile, which at 8am is always a great way to start the day. Inside had four booths and a table , but as it was early, the cafe was still wide open. I ordered my cappuccino with oat milk; it was perfect! This is a great little cafe in downtown San Diego!
Finally one coffee shop that know how to get rid of the laptop campers. I was so happy to have a coffee on peace enjoying the place that used to be the older jazz bar in San Diego, from 1911 and now this coffee shop. Cappuccino was excellent, did not get the pastries but looked good. The place is super clean and minimalist and you have also outdoors seating. First great impression.
Super cute inside! Staff was friendly. Didn't try the pastries but took pics because it looked so cute! I got the drip coffee it was ok- I prefer a bit darker roast but it was drinkable. My spouse got the Nutella latte he said it was basically chocolate milk. I also ordered the avocado toast it was just ok. Would go back but probably not get what we did this time.
We were in town for a concert at Petco Park and wanted to grab coffee before it started. Having arrived a day prior, we saw this place on our way to our hotel. We decided to give it a try, and we did not enjoy our experience. This was our order: - Plain bagel with cream cheese and jam. - One iced latte with almond milk and stevia. - One iced matcha regular. - An acai bowl. - Tiger's blood refresher. - Another iced matcha with oat milk and vanilla. The bagel was OK. The Tiger's blood was too sweet. The acai bowl was decent. The first time they brought the cold brew with cold foam, it was just milk with cold brew. When we brought it up to the owner, he said something like, "It's all going to get mixed up anyway". If it weren't for the extra charge, we would have let it go, but we asked him to remake it properly. The cold foam on the cold brew was low-fat milk frothed up. It was not correctly made with heavy or whipping cream. It wasn't creamy, and it didn't hold up against the coffee. We only received 5 out of the six items we ordered. The owner seems unfamiliar with their mobile POS. The counter looked unfinished with exposed drywall, so this place might be new or under renovation. All the tables have reserved signs on them for folks dining in only. Hopefully, folks have a better experience than I did! I wouldn't recommend this place.
I really liked: Chai Tea Latte I liked: Matcha Latte Lox Bagel The chai tea latte is excellent. Strong, warming flavor with just the right amount of spice, not too sweet. The matcha latte is smooth and earthy, exactly what you'd expect from a solid matcha drink. The lox bagel is super filling, fresh, and balanced. A clean, satisfying meal. Service was a bit slow since the cafe was busy, but everything came out perfectly. The space is small and cozy with lots of natural light, making it a comfortable spot to hang out. During the Square Enix meet up, everyone was chatting about their favorite games, which made the experience even more fun. Huge thanks to Square Enix for organizing such a great event. Overall, Tiger Cafe is a chill spot with solid drinks and #goodeats that hit the spot without being heavy.
I stopped by here for an afternoon cup of coffee. I ordered a sugar free iced vanilla latte and it was very good! The store was clean and service was good. I only take a star off because they had closed off almost all of the seating inside, which made me feel unwelcome yo sip my coffee inside. And it's cute inside too!
Decent cafe! It's open early. Their pastry case is more patisserie now; there weren't any croissants, etc. I got their bagel & cream cheese, which was pretty standard. Their Matchata (Matcha + Horchata) had a nice cinnamon churro flavor. If you're a matcha purist, however, I believe they use those light-green, pre-mixed matcha powders that run a bit sweet. Service was very kind throughout!
Super cute Café on the corner easy to find to walkable to a lot of different areas. Ambience was super cute. Fair seating great as soon as I walked in pastries looked good. I just got a simple caramel macchiato service was fast. I would return again.
Needed a cafe to work at (thanks in home construction disasters) and headed over to this place I'd seen since moving into the neighborhood. At the register there's a sign that says laptop users have to sit in this slim central shareable work station (not spacious enough to comfortably work and enjoy a drink/meal). I asked the associate if it was possible to sit outside since there really was no one at the cafe. But when I went outside, I realized there's no outlet so I went back in and decided I'd settle for the awkward work station and apparently there's no outlet whatsoever! Why dedicate (restrict, really) an entire computer-user station without accessibility to an outlet? So, with a dead computer and no way to plug it in, I realized I couldn't accomplish much and asked if I could cancel my food order and get my drink to go elsewhere and handle my remote work. I was told that that's not an option because they can't refund credit card transactions (which is ridiculous in 2026), they don't have gift cards for store credit, and didn't have enough cash to do it that way. So I was left with no option but to stick around long enough to eat what turned out to be a subpar meal and drink my caramel macchiato (which was decent). I ordered the eggs benedict sandwich minus the turkey bacon and it was extremely disappointing. The english muffin was soaked and soggy, drowning in the havarti cheese that overpowered the flavor of everything else. Also, there were eggshells in my benedict! So much so that I stopped eating. The "side salad" was a handful of greens with one cherry tomato and less than a teaspoon of vinegar dressing. If at least the flavor was good, I'd have managed, but it was awful. On top of everything else, they weren't careful with the cleanliness of the plate because apparently the plate either leaned on or was above some eggy or hollandaise sauce bowl because the bottom of my plate was soiled with runny yellow goop and I didn't notice until I stood up and the goop had dripped down on my thigh/jeans because their table has openings on it. As cute and modern as the aesthetic is, I won't be returning here. R.I.P. my $40ish.
I needed an afternoon pick me up and this cafe was open on New Year's Day. They look like they recently opened or being re-modeled. We were greeted right away by the friendly staff. I got the dirty horchata & my sister got the coconut latte. At the time, they only had oat milk as a milk alternative which was fine. my sister and I both enjoyed our drinks. The horchata latte was creamy, cinnamony & not too sweet. I would definitely order this again. My sister said her drink was also creamy with a hint of coconut, but also not overly sweet. Would definitely come back for the lattes!
I was visiting for the holidays and Tiger Cafe was super cute, so I stopped in and had the worst matcha ever. The person behind the counter was kind but I received the most watered down, worst quality, grainy matcha of my life. It was muddy and tasted like absolutely nothing. I'm not sure if it was an off day or the person wasn't properly trained but I wouldn't recommend it.
Came here on a weekday with some friends. I ordered at the counter but my friend came later and we had a server come to the table for them. I had a matcha latte and an açaí bowl. The açaí was super good. Really fresh. The ambiance is nice. Painted artwork on the walls. They also had really delicious looking deserts that I wasn't able to try but maybe next time

First time at Tiger Cafe a coffee shop located on Market Street in Downtown, San Diego, CA after eating at Tacos El Franc. Tiger Cafe is known for creative beverages like their Tiger Latte, Coconut Latte, a "Tiger Eye" drink, and a refreshing Tiger's Blood iced tea (hibiscus, peach, and lemon). I tried the iced latte "Dirty Horchata," and it was so delicious!! They also have pastries and serve breakfast burritos, unique Tiger Waffles, sandwiches, and customizable breakfast toasts. Quick stop for coffee before heading to the Rady shell for a concert, lucky us we made it with an hour to spare before they closed. The shop was open, very clean and had a beautiful atmosphere to it. The variety of drinks and baked goodies was also extensive you could find something new to try each time. I forgot what my husband ordered but I ordered the matchata and I was so impressed! Overall the drink was balanced so perfectly, not too sweet and you could distinct between the two flavors. My husband had one of their coffee drinks and the slow blend of cold foam into the coffee made the perfect sip each time. Highly recommend coming here if you're in the area! read more

I was trying to find a cute cafe to have a drink and write a little. I found Tiger Café from Yelp and walked on over to check them out. What I ordered: Tiger Eye Drink ~ espresso, matcha, coconut The drink caught my attention due to its appearance and uniqueness in ingredients. The taste of the Tiger Eye was really great! I could have probably ordered a second one, haha. I wanted to go for something more memorable than my typical Espresso, Cortado, or Iced Coffee... though I may have gotten a Cortado and Tiger Eye. Their food sounded good, but I had just finished eating at Taco Centro not too long ago. Food menu items are breakfast, brunch, specials, bagels, açai, waffles, lunch, salads, pizzas, sandwiches, chilaquiles, and more. The girl who was on staff was really nice and she even complimented me on my boots! I feel like they could potentially add in another large table near the wall of the tiger mural. I am not sure if they get packed as I came in about maybe a couple hours before closing. I enjoyed sitting at the pretty oval table and while I had headphones, I did tune into the music that was playing inside as it gave into a nice calming vibe. read more

Such a cute little cafe. My review is limited as I was only in town for a few days and only tried a couple menu items so I can only rate those items. The matcha seems premade and was just okay. I've had better. Coffee was okay, açaí bowl was simple nothing special. read more
As a spicy masala chai fan I have to say, this is not the place for me. But, to be fair, the server let me know up front that their house blend chai is not very spicy and is heavy on the sweet side. This was 100% true, the chai was sweeter than that sugar water they call Oregon chai but with some floral notes. Couldn't drink more than 1/8 of the cup before I hit my sweet limit but if you're into a house blend sweet chai, this may be the place for you. Cafe is clean, people are super friendly, chai is Just not my jam. read more

This place is amazing and I highly recommend! Everything I've tried Tiger Cafe has been well made and consistently tasty! I tried this drink the other day and WOW. This place needs more locations. The staff is really friendly and the owner puts alot of effort and love into the business. The inside is the perfect place to meet friends or study, filled with light! read more

Pretty minimalist inside but with a pow brought out by the tiger mural. The barista was also very friendly and had a welcoming energy. Ordered a coffee and acai to-go. The acai bowl was solid, albeit a bit melted by the time I got to my destination and could actually eat. Bananas would make a great addition. I tried the nutella latte and asked for light nutella as I know that's a whole lot of sweet. I felt the right amount was added but I think I still should've ordered another shot of espresso to offset the sweetness even more. Overall the latte was what I was looking for to supplement my daily coffee requirement! read more

We came here as part of a food tour; our group of four all got the Tiger Eye - Espresso, Coconut, MatchaEspresso, Coconut, Matcha. A very unique drink indeed - the first sip I took was quite bitter (just coffee), but after mixing the drink together, it was a good blend of creamy coconut and matcha. The interior itself is nice - the shop is on the corner and has a fairly minimalistic decor style inside, although they had some fun Halloween decor going on. Would try another drink here! read more

After a late night early morning in downtown, what is better than a hot coffee? I saw the cute little logo on my way home. Once upon a time, I lived a couple blocks away from this location and it was Starbucks. It's very nice to see that another café was opened in its place. I was surprised to see and smell delicious breakfast plates being served. Their food menu consisted of more than a dozen dishes. The coffee drink menu had quite a few selections as well. The staff seemed very attentive and efficient. I got a coconut Matcha latte. It was delicious. My only issue with my latte was that it sounded like it came from a premixed. They had a few selections of milk or creamers. Overall, my little visit was great! read more

okay hear me out, the cake was amazing but the coffee unfortunately was a bust for me . i ordered a double espresso with a splash of oat milk and it's normally pretty smooth and creamy. today it was watery which makes me so sadddd. i truly don't know if it was a just a fluke drink or if it's normally like that. i ordered my coffee around 4:30 it was 30 minutes to close so the place was pretty empty. the service however was great!!! the gentleman taking my order was truly so patient with me because i was looking at the menu for a couple minutes and asking questions! the place was obviously beautiful. this would definitely be a place to just relax and grab a sweet treat! read more
We came here on a whim since the other coffee shop we went too was super busy and I'm so happy we found this place. The cafe inside is a great hang out spot for friends and family! The staff were friendly and helpful. I got the tiger eye and it's one of the few coconut/matcha coffees I actually like! Not too sweet and a perfect balance of flavor. read more

Cute ambiance. The person taking our group's order was nice, but they did forget someone's waffle order when the rest of us had our food. I thought the Lox and Bagel I got was good, but it would have been better if the bagel was more toasted. They also served it with a slice of lemon that was tricky to squeeze because of the way it was cut. I also got a raspberry tea and it was tasty. I'd say this is a good spot for a quick breakfast. read more

The coffee here was actually really good. However the breakfast burrito is awful, maybe the worst I've had in San Diego. it taste like a frozen breakfast burrito, oh and it's $20. The eggs are like fake eggs, I don't know if it's how they are cooking them or what. The potatoes also terrible. A crazy amount of cheese was added and for some reason green tomatillo peppers are sprinkled inside, but not in a good way. Please don't get this breakfast burrito. read more
I've walked by this place a dozen times and finally decided to stop in on my morning walk. The ambiance is nice - simple and spacious. Lots of room to sit and work if you'd like. There were a few people in ~9:30 on a Sunday, no wait. I was helped right away, the service was friendly. Cashier greeted me when I came in and was pleasant and kind. I love a good oatmilk latte so if I'm trying somewhere new that's my go to order to judge coffee. Maybe I should've tried a specialty drink, but I wasn't impressed with my latte. It was scalding hot which isn't necessarily bad but the coffee tasted a little burnt maybe? There was a strange aftertaste that maybe came from the roast they use. Unfortunately it just wasn't my favorite. I'd stop by here and maybe try a non-coffee based drink because they do have quite a few teas and other drinks, but the coffee wasn't anything special for me. read more
Wow this was the surprise hit on our taste of the Gas Lamp foodie tour. The matcha drink with coconut and espresso was amazing. We will definitely be back for the Tigers Eye drink!! Kudos for the awesome Halloween decorations. read more

Cute café with friendly service and chill ambiance. Tiger eye did not disappoint! I'll definitely be back to try more drinks. I was craving a good Benedict so gave theirs a try. At first glance, it looked delicious, but when I cut into the egg (sad face) the yolk was overcooked and not runny. The second egg was a little less overcooked and had a soft yolk. It was still tasty and I mostly ate the egg white, turkey bacon, hollandaise sauce and English muffin. read more

Found this cute cafe near the Gaslamp area. The first thing we noticed inside was the big tiger portrait! It was so colorful and beautifully made. The ambiance was welcoming and had nice seating areas where one could work from. I got a latte and an avocado toast. The latte was perfect and wasn't too strong. I liked how fresh the avocado toast was! Interestingly,I met some other folks who were working out of the cafe and they were looking for a nice cafe too. They all really liked their coffees and breakfast items. I ended up meeting some really nice people, had amazing coffee and was able to get a lot of work done! All in all, this cafe is a must try! read more
