They flipped over a smog emissions valve on my Jeep so I could not pass smog. Another mechanic found the problem with me standing right there. The valve was clearly marked and it was flipped upside down. I had passed smog before they put the manifolds on I could not pass smog when they were done. They did this to me on purpose. What I…read moreappreciate most is that they take their time and make sure the job is done right rather than rushing through it. If something does go wrong, they stand behind their work, take responsibility, and make sure the issue gets fixed. Their pricing has also always been very fair. I've never felt overcharged or been surprised with additional charges on any of my visits, which is something I really value in an automotive shop. On top of that, everyone I've dealt with there has been genuinely nice, professional, and easy to work with. It's hard to find a shop you can actually trust, and after three good experiences, I definitely recommend it. Sent a Honda Civic and Corvette

I don't think service gets any better than what I received from Bob…read more We just bought a new RV in Grass Valley and flat towed our Subaru Forrester from there to Salinas no problems. Then we drove the car maybe 10 miles and noticed that when I engaged the clutch it would stop the car. I knew it had to do with the tow brake we had installed which is a cable that runs from the bumper to the pedal. So I called Bob who at first said he couldn't get to us until Sunday (This is Thursday) and when I told him we were trying to leave Salinas Sunday he got us in that day at 2. Get a call around 11 from Bob saying he's on his way. Bob gets here and looks at what's going on and takes the time to watch multiple videos on YouTube to understand the project. An adjustment to the breakaway lock by placing it 1/4 of an inch back took care of my problem and he only charged the initial fee. I can't recommend this gentleman enough if you want an honest mechanic with a great ethic.

I was a last-minute walk-in, 30 minutes before closing time, and she and her team made the time to take care of my car before closing. I discovered they specialize in bodywork, mechanical, restorations, classics, muscle cars, imports, etc. there's literally nothing they don't do well. I'm new to the area and I've had to tough time finding my new go-to local mechanic shop that rivals over-inflated dealer parts and labor prices. They're located in Salinas, and absolutely worth the trip.

I came to CARS recently after another shop told me my car needed a repair costing around $4,800…read more Before spending that kind of money, I wanted to understand exactly what was wrong with my car and why such an expensive repair was necessary. Unfortunately, the other shop gave me very few answers. I paid $305 for the diagnosis, but the report I received from the other shop was extremely basic. They also didn't give me a list of the parts that needed to be replaced, a breakdown of the labor costs, or much of an explanation of how they came to the conclusion that I needed a $4,800 repair. When I asked for more information, they were irritated with me and very dismissive. When I went to CARS, the experience was completely different. Michelle, the Office Manager, has been wonderful. She is extremely knowledgeable about automotive repairs, but more importantly, she knows how to explain things in a way that makes sense to someone who isn't a mechanic. She genuinely wants her customers to understand what's going on with their vehicle and feel comfortable with their options. I never felt rushed, talked down to, or pressured. At CARS, asking questions is welcomed, and you're treated with patience and respect. I'm extremely grateful to Michelle and CARS for their patience, kindness, and willingness to help. It's refreshing to find a repair shop that makes you feel like an informed and respected customer, rather than just another opportunity to make money!
