I took my Subaru Crosstrek to Mike's Auto Body twice. Mike's son, Jeff, runs the business and is always professional, polite, and personable. My auto damage was my fault--once I backed into a car and once I backed into a pole. For one 'event' I got another estimate, which was higher in price and the staff wasn't as personable. Jeff never made me feel anything other than glad I took my car to his shop, twice within a year. Jeff gave me estimates, timelines, let me know if the parts were going to be late (Covid has been crazy for all), kept me informed, and was great with my insurance company. Recently, when my driver's side mirror was knocked off, I had the opportunity to check why my lock actuator didn't work. We have used Mike's Auto Body twice now. He is great; very friendly and honest. We had a fender bender when someone rear ended us and dented our bumper. He worked closely with our insurance agency and replaced the parts in no time. It took a day to get the parts and half-day to install. The car was washed and cleaned inside and out. I brought in my BMW 2017 5 series to them on a Monday, and was estimated 2 to 3 days. Unfortunately, due to external factors outside of their shop it took them almost two weeks. Usually, I would be annoyed, which I was, but Geoff .. Jeff... called me frequently with updates and the issues occurring with my vehicle. Due to a dealership in the area.... hint hint... it took twice as long. The damage to my vehicle was someone reversing on my front bumper. The vehicle looks brand new and amazing. I dealt with them with insurance of one of their triple a clients and not just with insurance on my fault or someone else's as well as if I need work on my vehicle I would recommend them. Someone backed into my car, which caused me to get the whole back bumper replaced. I dropped my car off at Mike's and was suppose to get picked up by a rental car place but said it would take them 15mins. Ive made this my new body shop here in the Monterey area. I was very spoiled by my old one as they were long time family friends, but I am very happy with how Mike does things. Thus far he has fixed my wifes car after she had gotten side swiped. The repairs were timely, and looked like nothing had been done. Shortly after a problem developed with an old unrelated repair and he had his shop weld the parts back into place as they should have, at no cost as while we waited. A few months later she was rear ended while stopped and the car was totaled, but even then Mike was quick and willing to do whatever it took to make us happy. Currently he has my car and is keeping in touch with the insurance company for me (so I don't have to) as well as getting my car fixed within the initial time frame. I cant comment on how good the work will be, but I can say im not worried about the quality at all at this point. as I know it will be great! read more

On Easter, my parked car was hit. The person who hit me was adamant that I take my car to a body shop and get an estimate and have it repaired. It didn't seem like much to me and I just wanted to bump out the dent and be done with it. Anyway, I went along with them and their insurance sent me to Mikes. I called ahead of time to make sure they'd be open and to see if I needed an appointment. Mike said to come by anytime. A few hours later I showed up and he remembered my call. We talked about the hit and the car and general things. He called a pick up for a rental for me. He told me the estimate would go to insurance and I didn't need to do anything and the car would be ready Tuesday. To my surprise, the car was done Monday morning. When I showed up, not only had he fixed it up to brand new condition, but he'd washed the car and cleaned off the front dash (a big deal given my exceptionally furry dogs who ride with me regularly). Took it to Mike's after I hit a big raccoon on Thurs night, it torn up the stuff under my car which dragged all the way home. They're a AAA approved auto body place and two coworkers have gone to them. I couldn't take my car in until after the weekend (but that was more the insurance company's fault). Dropped it off on Monday morning got a call an hour later saying my car was ready and that all they needed to do was put in new clips and plastics bolts. Didn't charge me a dime. They cancelled the claim, but they took pictures for the insurance, including some really interesting ones of raccoon hair stuck on the car. read more

Had damage occur in January, took car into them in March. Jeff spent 2 minutes taking photos. In his estimate he saw rust and claimed damage not part of accident. I called and explained to him that we have had record rains...he still insisted that he was correct. Rust can develop in days....STAY AWAY!! As it turns out the insurance company sided with us...and he is losing business!!!! We had taken it into them after getting estimates from two other shops...they never questioned any rust. And don't get me started on the Florida AAA representative who never figured out that there was a 3 hr. time difference & kept calling and leaving messages at 0700. Whenever I called her back she was always at a "customer service training session"! I took my Mercedes C230 to Mike's shop after an accident that resulted in a hole in my radiator along with extensive front end damage. When I went to pick up the car it was parked on the street outside his shop and I almost drove by without recognizing it as mine!!! It looked fantastic inside and out as they had washed, waxed, and vacuumed it after the repairs were complete. I only had to deal with my insurance company to file the claim, the rest of it was handled by Mike's shop which turned a potentially negative experience into a totally positive one. Honestly, I can't even explain how much I dislike this auto body. This was my very first time getting my car fixed at any shop and how I wished i never gone there. My car was hit while parked and the person who hit me had triple AAA. The insurance company gave me options on where they could fix my car, and Mike's was one of them so I didn't mind of course. Once I made my appointment, I brought my car in. The owner who helped me was really giddery and sounded like he was from a cartoon or something which I thought was strange. I didn't like the atmosphere, and especially him. He took pictures of my car for insurance purposes and (btw this was my first accident). I'm not going to explain my entire experience but he came at me the wrong way and rudely insisted that one of the dents (caused by the accident) wasn't really caused by the accident and that it was "impossible" for that specific dent to be formed in that way basically accusing me of lying which I told him I never been in an accident or dented my car. That totally took me by surprise because I only went there just to get my car fixed, not be judged as a liar. Him being a professional and all, he was absolutely rude and disrespectful. I was definitely taken by surprise and it really upset me how he treated me as a client. I'm never rude unless you give me a reason to be, but I tried to be as nice as I could, but he was absolutely awful. I would never recommend this place to anyone just because this was the worst customer service I have experienced yet. After that my car was complete, my mother picked up my car and she said he didn't mention the made-up ~dent. Now that is ridiculous. 1 star because my car was fixed, and they did a good job with my new bumper. read more

I took my car here in January 2017. They kept my car for 3 weeks. When I got it back not only were the repairs substandard but they caused other cosmetic damage to my car. Mike, the owner, would not accept any responsibility. The Bureau of Automotive, State Farm, and the Insurance Commissonar had to get involved. Ultimately, it cost $4000 to redo the work and fix the damage that Mike's Auto Body caused. Of course, another shop fixed it. This shop is a JOKE they actually advertise they do frame work, yet they DO NOT have a frame machine. They are a half ass shop, doing 1/2 ass work PERIOD. I felt completely disrespected.
