Update as of February 28, 2023: I was able to finally speak to Angel, the manager, who reached out after reading this review. He addressed all the issues in the initial review that I had and made things right on my end and adjusted my final cost based on my experience. I appreciate the way in which he prioritized the bullet points above and resolved it all in one day. It is a little unfortunate that I was taken care of after my Yelp review was published (this being my very first one). I went through all the normal channels which didn't work as stated above. So for this update, I give 4 stars solely towards the service received from Angel. SCAMMING COMPANY! STAY AWAY OF THEM! Don't ever use Move Central company! This company estimated my moving under 800$ for 1 bed 1 bath, and then without my consent took 2200$ from my back account including required 250$ deposit when I picked cash only as payment option. During several calls (which were recorded) company during estimation process said that there will be no extra charges for wrapping/packing materials. But in final statement they put over 1000$ total of swapping paper/boxes/bubble wrap etc. They damaged my bed, coffee table, patio chair and makeup vanity and estimated all these as 200$ worth of damage. I've moved many times for the past 25 times due to job relocation. This time I didn't have almost no furniture & decided to go with smaller moving company. This company had two movers who DAMAGED everything & they didn't even care to pay me the minimum with the insurance they offered. The shocking part was they moved my furniture WITHOUT wrapping it in blankets. Who does that? That is why ALL my furniture got damaged. BEFORE the move JUAN CARLOS RAMIREZ got all my picture (they needed pictures for estimates) AFTER they damaged & I sent pictures, they said my pictures are not coming through. I kept sending different format. JUAN CORDOVA kept saying he can't get it. Today, 2 weeks later, I got no response except, "sorry mam, you don't know how to send pictures!" I asked for managers but JUAN CORDOVA is the only person, he kept saying I can't send pictures. I told Mr. CORDOVA, why don't you ask Mr. RAMIREZ how he got my pictures BEFORE the move? He kept saying that he works in another department & he is on vacation. But I did send my picture to that text/e-mail. Still no response. PLEASE, do not use these people. Unprofessional movers. Unprofessional customer service. Liars. (They showed up late & said we will wrap everything in the truck! Lied! They moved my furniture without protective covers & damages every single of them & cared less. Why? Because they got their cash before unloading! ) Scammers. Fraud. Their insurance is fraud. UPDATE: Please note this is the ONLY negative review I've ever left. First off the email provided by Angel doesn't work and bounced back. 2nd he responded to one message and then ghosted us. This company responded and offered a $500 refund. They lost our subwoofer, free weights, pots/pans, and more. In addition they damaged our brand new dresser that was over $1k AND scratched/put holes in the walls of our new house. After 3 weeks of back and forth, $500 refund is what they offered. What a joke. Unfortunately we will have to move forward with outside counsel and file a claim with the state attorney general to resolve this situation. They lost our stuff. They damaged our stuff. They put holes in our wall. Now we are forced to spend time and effort in making things right. Do not use this company under any circumstances. I googled moving companies and this one came up as the most affordable. I called them and Ceasar at the front desk gave me an estimate of $380. I understand estimates can vary, but as they "finished" -- they charged me over $700. I had them move two beds and two dressers. It was a 10 minute drive, and they charged me an hour and a half for driving. They also charged me for 5 hours of moving, when it was 2 hours and a half.. under their minimum. They also broke both of our dressers in the move (back is cracked), & put together my bed wrong, so I had to rebuild it. If you need any help regarding this company after your move - I would ask for Angel as he was extremely helpful and kind through this process. Please save yourself a lot money by reading this entire review. You won't be sorry! I spoke with Arnold at Move Central and went into detail about our move and I sent pictures of all items to be moved and the fact that we had a 3 story Townhouse. I was given a rough estimate of $1300 for entire move. In my mind, I had allocated $2000 as a more realistic amount since their "estimate" said that Materials "ARE CHARGED SEPARATELY". Full disclosure, we did have 1 item that was considered "Heavy" (over 250 pounds). It was a buffett and this was an additional charge of $250, which we were totally fine with. The 3 gentlemen that moved us were: Ronario, Ray and Carlos. My husband and I cannot say enough good things about them. They were friendly, professional and fast! No complaints about them. Our 2 star review comes from a gross miscommunication in what Move Central's description of what is "included" and not. IN THEIR WEBSITE DESCRIPTION IT READS AS FOLLOWS: Pricing details Starting rate $150/hr Minimum hours 3 hours Included in the starting rate: On the day of the move we would send you the required professional movers, a fully equipped moving truck which includes furniture pads, hand trucks, plastic wrap and all the necessary materials to complete your move. Arnold sent me an Estimate Summary before the move. In the section titled "General Terms and Conditions" it read: Special/Additional services and packing materials are charged separately. Detailed breakdown of any accessorial/incidental charges will be included on your Estimate document and Bill of Lading contract. You can view and download our pack & wrap materials price list upon request. Our move required 3 Men and so the hourly rate was adjusted to $219/hr. Again, we did not have a problem with that. The 3 men were FANTASTIC. Our shock however came in the form of the final payment which was over 3 TIMES THE AMOUNT I WAS ORIGINALLY QUOTED and came in at a whopping $4,296.37! The 23 furniture pads which were $35 each and came to a grand total of $805 will be refunded to us once we move our furniture out of storage and into a permanent location. That is still a grand total of $3,491.37. This amount is still over DOUBLE what the original estimate was. What ours DID NOT INCLUDE: Small Boxes, Medium Boxes, Mirror Boxes, Lamp Boxes, Mattress Bag, 5 Pound Packing Paper Small Roll, Packing Tape, Stretch Wrap Rolls, Bubble Wrap, Paper Pads and Furniture Pads. A word of advice to all reading this and are moving; any materials mentioned above, try and purchase at your big box store ahead of time, as it will save you A LOT of money. For example the queen sized mattress protector/plastic bag cost $9 at our local hardware store. Move Central charged us $25 for the same sized identical bag. Move Central charged us $8 for 1 roll of packing tape. You can buy an 8 pack at Costco for $26.99, that is only $3.37 each. To all potential customers, Estimates are not set in stone, however be very wary of being Nickle and Dimed to Death. I'll start with the good- Hector, Frank, and Carlos were very accommodating, polite, and friendly, when I ran into issues with my move. I felt like I was in good hands with them. My movers were also friendly, and both times arrived either early or on time. Aside from that, it was a terrible experience. When they called me to discuss my moving estimate, they failed to mention that they only accept physical cash for long distance moves. Which is extremely confusing, because they accept debit/credit cards for the deposit. There is very small misleading print on the estimate that states this, however, after rereading several times, it doesn't clearly indicate that they ONLY accept cash for the transportation. As a result, I had to jump through hoops to figure out how I was going to get $2000 in cash (on a holiday weekend, with no banks open) in order to have my stuff moved out of Los Angeles to the Bay Area. The movers broke a few things. I didn't mind that some of my dishes broke, because I wrapped and boxed them myself. However, I let them know ahead of time that I would need help unmounting my tv and soundbar, so they unmounted and packaged it. Not only did they break my tv (the screen was shattered so the screen was completely distorted), but they didn't mention it. Also, my soundbar never arrived! After following up, they said it they had it in LA and that I could get it back the next time they were scheduled to be back in Oakland. It's been over a month since I moved, and I still have no soundbar ($150 value). They did reimburse me for my TV, which was nice because technically they didn't have to. They're only liable to pay .60 cents per pound of your damaged/missing items (regardless of the monetary value), so be sure to get moving insurance! All in all, I paid Move Central over $4k to move a one-bed apartment from LA to Oakland. To say I regret it would be an understatement. Avoid this company! read more

Fraudulent quotation. Misleading! If there's zero star rating it would be the rate. The whole experience with them was just horrible. I would have to file legal action against this company. Please spare your time and save yourself some head ache and chest pains. They are insane crazy greedy about the deposit but can't deliver the service correctly and promptly. This company needs to close down. 1) they didn't arrive at a promise time 2) they delivered my 52" tv with a missing stand. I had to buy wall tv mount - for which It should have not happened/ 3) they lost part of my bed. I am sleeping at my new house on the floor because my bed is no longer usable in any ways or forms. 4) they folded my sleep number bed mattress and eventually split them into 2. That's a $3,000 worth of mattress. I am extremely livid about this. They offered to compensate me $100 for the damage done. It's an insult to be honest. 5) they returned my dining table disassembled and the crew wasn't notified that they had to put it together. They have no tools with them. So they left my table with no legs. It's awful. Infuriating. I am livid. Beyond mad. This company took my money and canceled my reservation. The sales representative Cesar sold me on a same day delivery and took my $250 deposit and cancelled my delivery. I repeat do not work with this company. I contacted them over four times Friday in regards to my move, I asked to speak to a maanger. The manager canceled my move without communicating with me before the cancellation. When I followed up with Cesar, the following day, I was told my reservation was canceled because I stated that I would write a review about the company. What I had said was I seen the reviews about the company not showing up and canceling orders At the last moment. The only thing Cesar would say is they dropped the ball and I would receive a refund in five business days. I have to move this week so not only am I out of money, I have to pay for additional days in the storage and another moving company. I'm typically very fair and very lenient when it comes to giving bad reviews because I understand how damaging they can be. However, this 1 star is justified as it took these guys 12.5 hours at $175 per hour (over priced, going rate is $125 for 3 guys) for less furniture than it took the last guys 5 hours to do. 5 beds, 3 dressers, 4 night stands, coffee table, 4 end tables, mini fridge and 22 boxes. Took them 12.5 hours, $2,300 and on top of it their truck broke down. I had spent an hour going to get the parts and fixing the truck to get them mobile again. 12.5 hrs at a premium (and had damages) for less furniture than the other movers did in 5 hrs. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! This company is a total rip off! Took them 11 hours to move a 2/2 apartment. Their workers would not wear their masks the entire time and I had to remind them. I was told I could be moved into my apartment by 4pm (I had a window of 1-4pm for move in or a $600 fine) and we didn't even leave my old unit until almost 4pm! Their workers were carrying 1 or 2 chairs at a time to the truck. I've never seen this lack of urgency or people move slower. I literally came up with ideas on how to be more efficient on the move in side. This is ridiculous for "professionals". They also didn't bring any tools even though I was told by sales and the dispatcher and the movers would help with any furniture that needed to be disassembled and reassembled. I called at 4pm to talk to service and they said that dispatcher would handle any complaint and review the hours. Well too bad they charged my card $1500 and the dispatcher said he can't do anything about it that customer service could look into it. CS called me the next day and told me that all they can do is pass along the feedback but the guys had to get paid. They also said the guys were tired from the day before. How is that my problem? I've literally moved this exact stuff in 2.5 hours with another company! This is INSANE how slow they live and their service is a scam! Stay away! read more

Angel explained that this used to be a small company that grew exponentially during COVID due to the high demand for moving services and it has been hard to keep up with the demand in regards to staffing - this is why I had not heard back from someone until now. He was professional, and personable (which I really appreciate), he followed up and did his best to get me the credit that I wanted. Although it was not quite that, after hearing the specifics of how they came up with my refund amount so they can also cover the costs for the work that they did do well ( that is fair), I agreed to their offer and I am satisfied. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I wish I read the reviews before using these scam artists. Absolutely horrible experience. They called me the morning of my moving day and tried to convince me of changing the date due to a problem on their end. Then, after arriving 5 hours late, the moving crew (2 young boys) wrapped my couch and refrigerator up and still managed to destroy them. The boys didn't finish till almost 11pm and I moved to a 4 plex. I can't imagine the noise. Now for the damage: The couch was filthy even though it was covered. HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN?? There was even a foot print on it. My refrigerator that is a $3000, brand new is scratched up and dented. Other pieces of my furniture was also broken, paint taken off and they even managed to scrape up our floor and leave paint skid marks from the furniture. I have to buy a new dresser and fix all the ruined spots. I'm beyond angry and will take legal action if I have to pay anything for what these Ding dongs have done. I also want to be compensated for all the extensive damage but I have a feeling that's going to be another hellish experience. read more

DONT USE THIS COMPANY. I would definitely use another company if you plan on moving out of state. I have used Yelp for years to hire various companies and so far the ratings for those companies have been spot on. Moving in general is a pain. Moving out of state is a bigger pain. Trying to find a creditable company is difficult because moving in general is difficult. When I was younger I did everything myself. Uhaul was the answer and is still the answer if you have a simple, local, move. Now that I'm older I would prefer a moving company do all the hard work. I never pack items of value. I never pack electronics. My valuables always stay with me because you never know. I chose this company because they gave me a good rate/price for my out of state move. The Yelp rating for this company was high. My fiancée and I packed all our belongings ourselves to make the move easier and faster. The movers from Move Central Moving and Storage arrived and began moving our items. The movers worked quickly and efficiently. Its very hard to ask movers to move your belongings quickly and expect nothing to be damaged. Unfortunately, things do happen. I was selling a new home which originally came with a brand new Whirlpool refrigerator. The movers dropped my brand new refrigerator. The incident was captured on video but I could not attached the video to Yelp. Hopefully I can attached the video to Google because this review will also be on Google. The movers did not strap the refrigerator down and the refrigerator fell in the middle of the street. The mover stated he would report the incident. It wasn't reported until I called. I took photos to document the incident. I was very pleased with the movers and the move at that time. We moved out of California to the great state of Texas. The first month of storage was free. The second month cost me $1,500 dollars because I was told I had ten (10) pods of items in storage (150 per pod). It wasn't until my items arrived in Texas I saw numerous problems and issues. The estimate originally given to me changed because I had two trucks. I kept getting different quotes. The cost kept slowly going up. I was charged $7,900 for each truck (That was the cash price). The price of having two (2) trucks came to $15,800 dollars. This was not the original quote given to me. Dam that was a real shock. I wasn't expecting that. I was charged $300 dollars an hour for four (4) movers but only two (2) movers arrived. The driver I originally spoke to was professional. I did my business with him. I had to go to the bank and get a cashiers check for the $15,800 and I was going to pay cash for the rest of the job. A second driver arrived at my home with the second truck and started arguing with the first driver over the cashiers check I provided. Very unprofessional. Then I had a total stranger show up at my house demanding he get paid because he was there to help unload the truck even though the two movers, who arrived on time, had already started the job. I had to tell this guy to get off my property with that nonsense. Totally rude and not very professional. I guess this company hires anybody to unload the truck. The boxes being removed from the truck were smashed/crushed. The movers unloading the truck told me the boxes they were pulling off the truck were in bad shape. It was clear when the boxes were reloaded onto the truck they were just thrown on. Boxes we marked fragile were just smashed. There was definitely no care in the handling of my items. The movers hired, unloaded the truck quickly and carefully. I definitely wanted to give them a tip. When the job was done I was told I would get a call to settle the balance. It was $300 dollars and hour and the unloaders got the job done in 2 1/2 hours. Nice job and I was definitely going to give them a tip. I received a call from a rep from Moving Central telling me I owed the company an additional $4,500 dollars. Are you kidding me? In the end I ended up paying an additional $2,500 to resolve this matter (Total $18,500). Broken %0 inch television, missing items, boxes ransacked and repackaged. I filed a claim for the damaged refrigerator and was offered $100 dollars for my damaged refrigerator. Ridiculous. DONT USE THIS COMPANY. Stay away from this company if your wise. I just had Move Central move a bunch of large items (mostly furniture) from a house I'm vacating in Carlsbad to a storage facility in Vista. I had a previous bad experience with one of their competitors, so I was a little anxious. Moves like this are all about communication, customer relations, and listening. Carrying a sofa down the stairs is not all that hard, but talking to me about how I'd like it wrapped and carried, and where I would like it to be put at the other end, is harder than you think. Of course Move Central did a good job of moving my things. They are a moving company, after all. But more importantly to me, they did a great job of talking with me before and during the move. They understood everything I told them. They stayed in good contact during the days before the move. They arrived when they said they would arrive. They finished quickly. If I ever need to move again (and I really hope I don't) I'm for sure calling Move Central. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. I had placed what I wanted moved in the front of the bedroom ready to taken out. right from the start, the mover said "wow, look at that" and then proceeded to knock over some expensive collectibles that I had separated from the rest of stuff that I wanted moved. Later on the mover comes up to me and asks me if I have the lids to the bins. I told him "Don't tell me you are packing the stuff I told you not to pack" and yes, indeed, he was packing the stuff. That is why they were taking so long just to move 15 pieces of empty cheap furniture. So, then not listening to directions costed me extra time. oh, but it gets worse. they move my stuff to the city 10 minutes over. I get on the line with the dispatcher to discuss payment- HE TELLS ME THAT I OWE THEM MORE THAN DOUBLE THE ESTIMATE. Why? because they charge per hour to drive to you, which is hidden on the estimate. Why the hell would I hire a moving company based 1 hour and 30 minutes away from me if I knew I had to pay them for their travel time ON TOP OF TRUCK AND GAS FEES. Why wouldn't I just hire locally? The dispatcher is very rude, but then he says hey I'll cut you a break- I'll give you $50 off. At that point I had enough and told him this is scandalous and just to charge the card. of course, being the rude person he was, he said to me like a child "Well, Ill charge the card but I wont give you the $50 off." Ok, you already scammed me for over $1000, I couldn't care less about $50. He charges the card, I tell the movers to have a good day, and I try to wrap my head around what just happened. This company will over charge you, do not use it. I had a moving job with them this month, the worker took an hour and a half lunch and they charge me for it. The total hours was 4.5 hours for a one bedroom apartment but they charged me for 7 hours including 1.5 hours lunch. The worker refused to unload my belongings from the truck unless I agreed to pay 7 hours included 1.5 hour lunch, I said this is over charge but the manger on the phone said they will use my credit card on file to pay for it and they will reimburse me on the next day when they clarified with the system and worker. But they never return my call nor my emails. This company is a total rib off. read more

BEWARE OF BAIT AND SWITCH WITH THIS COMPANY! They will provide you what appears to be competitive estimate upfront by under estimating the number of vehicles needed to move you. They did a video walk through of my house to give me an estimate and the salesperson, Jay Ortiz assured me one 26 foot truck was sufficient. On the day of the move, I was informed two trucks were actually required so the price of the move DOUBLED. I was left with zero choice and had to pay for their mistake. Another thing to look out for is the payment. They gave me an hourly rate of $209 per hour for cash, cashiers check or wire transfer and $229 per hour for credit card. What they don't tell you until you've signed the agreement is that the biggest cost of the move is the travel fee has to be paid in cash. I preferred to pay by credit card since I wanted to have the option to file a dispute if there are damages to our things and they don't compensate us for them. read more

I was overcharged for the service that was provided. They just left all my things wrapped up in the protective blankets and cellophane. I've never had movers just leave their things out of laziness before. If I wasn't watching they were taking smoke breaks multiple times (extra charges due to time). I requested a half truck, they brought a full truck even after I confirmed over the phone. (more extra charges). Regarding the overly expensive hourly rate I agreed upon this was my fault, but I should have known since the dispatcher on the phone hit all the touchpoints for being opportunistic. (quickly trying to close a deal, this deal wont last forever, don't check on other prices.) Do your due diligence check out their hourly rate. Not the same experience as the first time! I contacted them for another move with the request to have the same lead guy named Kona. The guy confirmed that it was possible to send him and that he'd make a note. I confirmed this 3 times but when it came to moving day they sent 2 other guys. One named Tyler and the other unknown. Sadly, these guys did not meet my expectations. They took way too long. I moved out with less than I moved in and they took longer. This move was so expensive for a 2 bedroom. Second, they broke 2 items in the rental and didn't tell me. They just put it back together. I submitted a claim but that dept isn't any better as it can take up to 90 days. Im in the claims process now, so we'll see how that goes. I will never recommend this company again. read more

DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY!! THEY ARE ROBBING PEOPLE!! I'm going to make this short and sweet. My husband and I were quoted $169 for the first 3 hrs with a $200 down payment to hold our spot. That would go toward our total once the job was done. Perfect! Our move from points A to B was anywhere between a 10-20min drive depending on traffic. The movers arrived at point A at 915a by 230p I was told we needed to secure payment. There was one last box to move and they basically weren't going to move until payment was received. I spoke with "dispatch" and I'm told that we are being billed for 7hours because they include travel time. I said travel time from where? Because 15 min of travel from A to B doesn't equal 120 min. He tells me travel time includes from the warehouse to points A & B and back to the warehouse. This was never discussed and since when do we include travel from the warehouse?? Cuz where's the warehouse Seattle?? This company will be hearing from our lawyer for sure. Very low quality scammy behavior. read more

DO NOT USE THIS UNSCRUPULOUS COMPANY!!! I have never written a review but this is the exception. The treatment I received from this fraudulent company seems synonymous with fleecing their customers and breaking items they move. The movers came to my house to put my items on the truck. Half-way through moving my stuff into the trucks they said that I have too much and they would need another truck and mover. I asked all the questions, are you sure, can't we try to fit every thing in? But he was adamant and I had to pay for another truck and driver, another $250 was tacked on. They also charged me $250 for one and a half rolls of shrink wrap when I said I had my own they could use. At the end of the job both trucks were only half full! I felt take advantage of and cheated. When I brought this up with customer service they told me I should have called them the same day and that they couldn't help me with my claim. My items were stored at their site for 10 days and when they showed up at my new residence, in one truck, and began unloading we began finding broken items and mangled boxes. They didn't bring any protection for the floors and began marking up my newly installed wood flooring. I asked them halt using the dolly until they could protect my floors from the tire marks and greasy dirt. This caused a delay that I would later be asked to pay for. I started a file with the customer service agent and we continued unloading. More broken items and missing items, and they were unwilling to bring a piece of furniture into the house because they said it was too big and heavy. (isn't that why we hire movers?) About an hour before our time was up, they tell us that they will need more time to unload. Another $175 an hour, just another money grab from this unscrupulous company. After speaking with the representative from the company they gave us too options, to pay the additional fee or they could drive away with the rest of our stuff! Unacceptable, after much discussion they agreed to try to make it work. What we got were boxes stack on boxes labeled "fragile do not stack" and basically thrown into our house and garage. I have called repeatedly to get the status of my claim and radio silence. No call back and other communication. Do NOT use this company. The worst moving experience I have ever had. I had a two bedroom apartment moving to another apt 20 mins away. It costed me over 1000$ with all the hidden fees they don't tell the customer upfront. They left garbage in my new place and forgot a bunch of items in my old apt. DO NOT USE THEM!!!!! They estimated our move incorrectly, broke our dressers, built our bed frame improperly, and overcharged our card (almost double of what they estimated). Most times when I got through to someone on the phone was passed around the office like a beachball at a Nickelback concert. I spoke to about 8 different people - all of which either transferred me to customer service, hung up on me, or heard me out and promised to call me back but never did. I understand that the start of a new month is busy for moving companies but it felt as though our efforts to rectify the problem was not reciprocated as expediently as a business should. I stopped by their warehouse to actually speak with somebody in person who could not transfer me or hang up. At 1:30pm on a Monday nobody was in the office. Door was open but lights were off. We had an incredibly difficult move with a super long carry and a broken elevator. Ehsan A. and Kyler B. were AMAZING! Even though the circumstances made the move take hours longer than expected they never quit or complained This is the first time we felt our movers actually cared (and we move annually). Update: My move cost about $5200. I have been asking for a 50% refund but in the end they gave me $1500 after I wrote these reviews AND I filed a complaint with Better Business Bureau. Before that, I was getting nowhere with them. This amount doesn't cover all my damages or additional expenses incurred from their lateness. But I was done. I felt it was the most I'd get and I was done dealing with them. That was in July. Then, Aug 20, they reached out (finally the manager) because "it seems you're still not happy based on your online review," asking for a phone call so they can make me another offer? I didn't want to waste more of my time with them so I declined. I said i would only talk if I got 50% back of my move. He said he would try, but I wasn't expecting anything or even thinking about this at all. Then this weekend out of the blue (5 months after my move), the manager reached out again offering to finally give me the full 50%, but we'd have to talk on the phone about it. I didn't want to spend more time, but I did call and it was clear they just want me to amend my review. While I appreciate the effort, the issue I have is: the only reason I got any money back or any of their time and thought was because I put up this review and filed the BBB complaint. So I told him, I'm sorry I will not be taking this down and the conversation was then over. I am not trying to be vindictive.. I just do not want others to have to deal with this. Update: I worked with Angel on the customer service team to work out coverage for the damaged. I appreciate him being understanding about repairs not being enough for the walls and damages in the new unit due to apartment complex policies and their willingness to cover what we will likely be charged at move out as well as working to cover the damaged items during the move. I definitely understand that things happen when moving, walls get scratched and things can be damaged it's just part of the nature of moving and happens pretty much no matter who you move with so I appreciate Angel for working with me to feel taken care of. read more

After explaining my side of the story, he completely understands why I posted the negative review. To make up for this incident, he graciously offered to cover the cost of the broken table. Our move started in November. We moved out and had our things with Move Central for 4 months. Carlos was in contact with me the entire time , assuring me that our personal belongings were surviving the rains. We moved into our new condo in March. Our whole experience has been a rough one. Carlos, Angel and Jaun have tried very hard to compensate for the unfortunate incidental misfortunes that happened along the way. Most of the movers were kind, gracious and hard workers. I think the biggest problems we ran into were lack of training on the part of the packers and movers. We are in our 80's and my husband is very I'll. Movers Under the IlInfluence- Don't risk your safety with this company! We moved on 7/8/2022. By far the worse company I have ever dealt with. Like a lot of other people who have left negative reviews here, I can confirm, this company has very deceiving business practices. They have very efficient processes designed to force you to pay more than quoted at every turn and they make it impossible to recover any significant losses. If you refuse to pay the upcharges they threaten to leave, with your property. You can read a lot about known and systemic problems in other reviews here on yelp. However, I would like to focus my review on a more serious matter. When they showed up to our new home to unload our belongings the foreman told us we had to much stuff and that he was going to need two more movers (at an additional cost), we reluctantly agreed. Shortly afterwards we started to notice a lot of broken and damaged items. We started to complain to the foreman and say that we wanted to be reimbursed for the packaging/wrapping, since so much was damaged. Things were a little tense, but professional at this point. After a while two other individuals showed up to "help". They continued unloading for for a while when one of the new movers who showed up became very agressive, he was kicking boxes and furniture, and started yelling at me. I immediately noticed he was acting "drunk" and then smelled a strong odor of Marijuana. I honestly became very frightened and nervous since my 15 year old daughter was there and my husband had gone off to finish other tasks. When my husband returned he asked the mover in question to leave, he refused and said he wasn't doing anything wrong. When asked why he was smoking Marijuana his response was "its not illegal". He threatened my husband and they had a verbal dispute, my husband had to walk away to avoid being attacked. We called their dispatch immediately and told them what was happening. Astonishingly they did nothing. The aggressive man and another man who was with him continued on-site smoking marijuana and were menacing us. Very scary situation to have men under the influence being aggressive at your home. Unfortunately we had paid earlier in the day (they threatened to leave with our belongings if we didnt pay) and they had included the extra hours for the two additional movers, so we ended up paying a person to break our stuff and threaten us. Before they left the foreman offered to call dispatch on speaker phone to see if it was okay to refund us a part of the money, the dispatcher (Joe Ibarra) said to the driver, "if she's inside the house get in the truck and leave". After now dozens of calls the company has failed to take any responsibility, nor reimburse us for any services. Even after speaking with Angel, a supposed high-level manager who promised to review the situation carefully. They only offered us a settlement to cover some of the damage, $300.00, when there's over 15k in damaged property. Not to mention the horrible experience. Obviiously we turned down that settlement offer. We filed a police report and arr working on further action. I encourage everyone who has had a bad experience with this company to file a formal complaint with the state. When I filed they were very friendly and it was easy. Apparently this company is well known for poor business practices. Don't let them get away with it. File and let's have the state look at their license. If I could give 0 stars I would not only did they send 3 people that didn't know what they were doing me and my brother in Law we're doing most of the work helping them wrap load and u load my items to the truck! They damaged my brand new 4 thousand dollar fridge brand new washer and dryer furniture tvs and god knows what else they damaged that I havnt gotten too. They also damaged my walls took a chunk of the door off. I requested a moving services with packing services and the move was like 10 minutes away from my apartment so not too bad. The guys showed up on time (I had 3), but one guy had a sour attitude the entire time. He was huffing and puffing and acting like it was the hardest move ever and someone was forcing him to work that day. I felt uncomfortable asking him to be careful with certain things because he just had a bad attitude. When we got to my new house, there was one flight of stairs to get up. He almost threw a mini tantrum and got visibly annoyed by it and voiced it loudly. LIke...I get that stairs are tougher for the boxes and all that, but you're professional movers. You've done this before, it's your job. Idk...go outside and complain to your friends, but loudly complaining all day and loudly expressing the annoyance was so unprofessional. I couldn't say much as they were bringing the stuff up, but they destroyed my walls on the stairwell. Dents and scratches and all. For being professional movers charging $200/hour, you would think they would be ok going up one flight of stairs. I've used movers before and have had great experiences. If it was for the movers I would give this place a negative zero. The packers were absolute garbage. I have never seen such an utter incompetence. And the company thinks that they did me a favor by keeping my items overnight after the packers screwed up the movers schedule by throwing items in a pile left for the movers to pack. !! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY !!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I hired Move Central based on the positive reviews and it was a huge mistake that has cost me big time. I paid the price when Move Central's truck got stuck outside my building for 4hrs. To keep it short: Move Central made a big mistake which left me without any of my things (and no place to sleep!) and said they'd make it right. Instead I was called the next morning and told that if I didn't pay $1500 for the previous day's work ($900+ in overcharges), I couldn't have my stuff delivered. They assured me that it would all be figured out Monday, they frequently have cases where they overcharge their clients, don't worry! When they did deliver my items, they severely damaged multiple items. That Monday and every day since they have ducked my calls and claims--every person I got on the phone couldn't help me, but they could all take my credit card. I'm out $2000 and now have Move Central contacting me via call AND TEXT to try and extort more money from me. I've been dealing with this for four months and still have no answer from the company. DONT BE TRICKED!!!!! This company is a scam. I saw all the good reviews and picked them based on that. After this experience, I went back and took a look and there are many awful experiences just like mine hidden in the sea of reviews.
