found these movers on Groupon and they honored the Groupon price which was great. The movers were late due to an issue with one of the original movers who had to be replaced. the only con I have about the experience is that no one communicated the issue and told me they were going to be late. the movers showed up and worked quickly ( and moved things down 3 flights of stairs!). they protected my stuff and even reassembled the bunk beds they had taken apart. Whatever you do, do not hire this scam company they will damage your property, not label anything, and smile in your face while overcharging you the price you had already negotiated...... along with not labeling a single thing. We had to pay for them to train someone from another country who did not speak English and literally did the opposite of everything my wife had asked him to do. She made piles and said do not take this and everything in those piles was boxed up, not labeled and hidden inside of the storage.!!! We found live plants not alive anymore, mixed in with clothes and precious artwork. They offered to move my bike in the truck and somehow managed to drop my Ducati on both sides, and break off the shift lever and the clutch lever. when I asked the person how many days he had been with the company he held up four fingers and said two days I can't believe I had to pay this company over $2000 to basically ruin all of my property and leave it unlabeled in a storage stacked and dismantled unbelievably precariously not to mention loading the storage stacked a mattress on top of a $300 cat tree that was brand new. ABSOLUTE WORST MOVING COMPANY!!! WARNING- long review but necessary as to express how truly terrible of a company this is. For the record, I blame the owner & not the 1 employee who did his best given the circumstances. I found them on Groupon & unfortunately chose them instead of another accredited & licensed company because they didn't charge extra for boxes or bubble wrap. (When making the reservation, they told me not to buy the Groupon & they would honor the discounted rate) I see now, this was to not give me the ability to leave a negative review on Groupon, which I can only do if I purchased it. Put it this way, I paid these people over $2500 for them to destroy thousands of dollars worth of furniture & other belongings. I hired them to pack & move my 1 bedroom apartment. When the two movers showed up, it was one of the movers first day on the job. I had asked of them 2 things: to label boxes (I even provided sharpies) & to not touch any of the items in one specific corner of the living room as I was having to stay in an airbnb until I found a new place to live. These items were in mostly the in suitcases & a single box. First off, the 2nd mover was so terrible he was fired at the end of the day. I had no chance to help with packing up in the bedroom or bathroom, as I was basically forced to watch their every move after I saw how they were treating my belongings with complete disregard, about to pack my 6 foot glass display case into the truck with no bubble wrap or moving blanket. I had to ask the movers to bubble wrap breakable items, which the new worker couldn't accomplish on his own & I (a 5'3 30 yr old female) helped when the other worker was loading the truck or taking a smoke break. When they thought I wasn't looking, I watched in disbelief as they were pulling out my kitchen drawers & turning them upside down emptying their contents into boxes. Not a single box was labeled & because the job was basically used as "training" for the 2nd mover, after 8 hours only 75% of my apartment was packed up (my bedroom had not even been touched yet) & my storage unit was closing in 15 minutes. Because the 1st mover knew this wasn't our fault, he got his boss to waive the "overnight charge" and we were promised to only be charged $300 for the 2nd day, regardless of how long it took to finish the job. We called the owner that evening to let him know what had happened, hoping to work something out & not pay even more & he was extremely rude & condescending. His response was "you're lucky I'm not charging you the overnight fee" & "we could take him to court if we had any complaints he didn't seem to care about the quality of work he regardless of the fact I paid over $1500 & still tipped the 2 movers $250 each. The next day they were supposed to grab the rest of the items from my apartment around 11am, when I got a call someone was waiting at the storage unit. Nothing was communicated & nobody showed up until hours later. The job was never finished, my storage unit was packed up so carelessly 75% of my brand new furniture was broken, & my credit card was charged almost double the rate I was promised. In the end, I not only lost 2 grand, but majority of my belongings are broken, destroyed, or nowhere to be found. When I'm not working, I'm constantly designing my home, finding or creating one of a kind pieces of furniture or art I purchased &/or created my home as a sanctuary within the time I lived in that home, & some things in particular are irreplaceable and to see what what going on was absolutely devastating to me. No paperwork was ever signed, and I have no proof of this ever happening aside from the extra fraudulent $300 charged on my card, which I made a claim regarding but they somehow got back. THIS COMPANY SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO OPERATE & I can only assume they treated me & my things this way is due to lack of compensation & training from upper management along with lack of respect & assuming my lack of intelligence because I'm a female. They worked really hard it was only 515.00 that's not my issue with this company my issue is here three months later they charged my credit card again for the same amount and when we called them the man we spoke with whom I'm assuming he is the owner told us the lady that handles this sort of thing was not in the office yet, but would be in soon and contact us. No one contacted us. We called back at lunchtime. She was not in the office yet. My mom and I have used this moving service twice now and have had no complaints! Coincidentally I had the same two movers both times, Mohammed and (I am so sorry I forgot the name D: but it starts with a S and he is tall and slim wearing hokka tennis shoes, again I'm so sorry but you were awesome too!) Mohammed remembered us and it was really sweet that they recognize repeat customers. Both were efficient, quick, and super kind. They go above and beyond as well as move whatever you need. Do NOT use these movers. You have no recourse if they damage something--which, in my case, they did. They also somehow "lost" two boxes. Not only that, they quoted me 2, maybe 3 hours for my two bedroom. It took them SIX hours, with me helping the entire time! Not only that, they stripped the screws on nearly all my furniture, and told me these were their "best movers," when I called the office, saying what a surprise my experience was. Then, they proceeded to ignore my calls and photos of damaged items. Altogether, I lost nearly $1,000 in this move... and I only drove about 10 miles. If this is them at their "best," (their words) be warned. Nothing quality about this company. They cost over DOUBLE what they said, took double the time. They dented the whole top of my expensive washing machine and tried to pretend they didn't. They hooked up my washer and dryer wrong. Then- the worst- they threw around the boxes so much that a kitchen box was left UPSIDE DOWN on a bedroom box, they had broke SYRUP in the box, it leaked through whole box then down into other boxes! 5 pair of leather and suede boots RUINED! Very expensive boots! I only moved a few miles! Now I have to take hours to file an insurance claim which probably won't result in much! We'll see. AND they don't tell you until they get there but if you don't have enough cash at the end of however long they take- they charge way more for non-cash! I'm giving this rating just three stars only because they require a $45.00 deposit that I have still not received back (even after calling and being told I would receive a call back the same day) They also price gauge you on the fuel fee - $50.00 for 5 miles. I had a small load to a storage facility, it took less than two hours, was charged for three + the $50.00 fuel fee + the $45.00 deposit. The actual movers were awesome though. Over the weekend I moved from Normal Heights to North Park. My roommate and I hired SD Quality Moving to help us with just our furniture (couches, beds, etc) and they were INCREDIBLE. I was quoted for 3 hours and $400 something, but Tommy and the other mover got it done in 2 hours! I was only charged $268. They were incredibly fast, even running through the house to grab and carry furniture! I've had movers in the past clearly try and take their time, use the restroom for extended periods of time, get "lost" driving to the new place. Tommy and his partner started moving things immediately upon arrival, didn't take any breaks, and were so efficient. Nothing was damaged and they were just fantastic. My boyfriend and I booked this moving company a week ago to secure our move today. They wanted us to sign a contract that would agree to pay double the price that they quoted us. After we said we would not do this , they started being unresponsive but still didn't cancel our move or told us they weren't coming. It is now the day of our move and we have still not heard from them and no one showed up. We have tried calling them multiple times left multiple messages and emails and still no one has answered us. I had a horrible experience with SD Quality Moving. It took them 7 hours to move my 1 bedroom apartment from a storage unit into a new place. The move should have taken 4 hours tops. It was one of the movers first days so I can understand why he was slower but the other guy seemed pretty out of it. They didn't even have a second doorstop to use so I had to hold the door open for them in my apartment. They only had two items left to load into the van so I went ahead to the apartment to get the keys and everything. It took them 1.25 hours to get there and the storage unit was only 10 minutes away. I assumed they took a lunch and would deduct that from my total payment but no. I have called the company 4 times to complain and nothing was done. I really regret using this company. I moved only furniture for a 2 bedroom unit less than 15 minutes away, and it took SD Quality Moving 6 hours. The movers carried items upside down and broke the drawers for the dressers. I emailed multiple times to file a claim and received one response and then silence. I lost money in this move and now need to get items repaired since SD Quality Moving will not respond to my requests. I found this company when I needed help packing and moving a house full of stuff into storage at the last minute - really last-minute, as in making a reservation at 2:30 AM for movers to arrive at 8 AM the same day. I was skeptical that this was possible, but I was desperate. The manager or owner called me shortly after 8 AM to confirm I had the correct date, since it was unusual timing. When I confirmed, he apologized that he did not have a crew out at 8, because they were just opening and hadn't seen my reservation from the middle of the night a couple of hours earlier...but could have a crew to me in a couple of hours! Mohammed and two other gentlemen arrived and got everything packed and moved quickly and efficiently. They were friendly, polite, considerate, and upbeat from beginning to end. They worked as a great team and made a normally miserable process nearly painless. Rates were very fair and accurate with no upcharges, surprises, misc fees, nothing. A straightforward, fair, honest transaction that went smoothly from beginning to end despite long hours and a lot of challenges. I was impressed enough that I hired the same crew a few days later for a different and more difficult move, which they also did a great job with- 2 for 2. The following year, when I needed to move again- this time with a little more notice- same as above. While the first two moves were for someone else's belongings and I was not overly worried about the details or damage (though everything was perfect), this was my own stuff and was all important to me with TV, stereo, photos and art, etc. Everything was smooth, again. 3 for 3. Mohammed was the foreman for all three moves and I hope he is the next time. Great guy- takes responsibility for his work, trustworthy, smart, and able to stay upbeat, and friendly while working incredibly hard for hours. Moving is miserable. I have moved DOZENS of times, all over the country, local, interstate, and international. I have used multiple methods and professional services many times and have had a wide range of experiences- so I have a lot to compare this company to when it comes to moving services. Unfortunately in order to leave a review you have to leave 1 star, and in my opinion they shouldn't even be in business with they way the manipulate,price gauge and how unprofessional they are!!! They are hard to communicate with when it comes to issues that need immediate response time, the one mover was very unfriendly he tried to renegotiate the price voucher we where given being we waited from 2-4pm the movers didn't arrive until 5:30pm. The customers in front of us added an additional stop which the FOREMAN didn't communicate to the manager who intern could have contacted us on the delay which caused us to sit in the hot car!!!! We contacted them several times leaving voicemails within hopes of speaking to a live representative, at this point its beyond our scheduled window we assumed that after no communication being their was a delay. While we were making a reservation with U-haul the owner Arman finally called back, after we had told him the circumstances of our situation, he apologized and told us that he would send two guys but that we would have to wait an additional hour for them to get there. Once they got there (im not sure if this guy was the lead mover) the 1 unfriendly mover quoted a completely ridiculous price he took a calculator and proceed to calculate how much stuff I had then once we told him that wasn't the correct pricing we then told him to call his manager Arman. Once we arrived at the new storage unit we had to move majority of the items ourself, seeing as they came late the unfriendly mover was moving at snails pace, scrolling on his phone as to where the other mover was moving with a sense of urgency and actually helping move the items. Due to the inconvenience Arman gave us 10% off of our groupon to try to make up for our inconvenience only for the unfriendly mover to once again barter on pricing with us at that point we had enough and told him call Arman only for Arman to tell him to honor the quote which he then came back and said "oh you were right". The unfriendly mover proceeds to ask for a tip for his poor performance. Overall Arman tried his best to fix the situation but given the action of his movers not communicating amongst each other and the unfriendliness of some movers it's costing his business to have a negative image. He needs to seriously clean house and remove the negative movers that are impacting his company. read more

Worst customer service. I was quoted $120/hr for my move. The move took 3.5 hours as agreed and I redeemed a Groupon so the first 2 hours were already paid for. The remaining 1.5 hours that had not already been paid for would equal $180 and the fuel fee of $50 brings it $230. One of the movers told me my total was $265. I questioned the pricing and he told me it was the correct price for 1.5 hours and fuel charge of $50. I just paid them $360 in total with tip and they then sent me an invoice days later saying the total was in fact $230 not $265 but they will not process a refund for the amount they overcharged and I have called 6 times in which they say each time they will Venmo it back, but do not. They also did not refund the security deposit until 2 weeks later after I had already called 3 times by that point. Shady business read more

They were polite, respectful of my space and items, and worked efficiently to carefully wrap my furniture and send away to the truck. I had a really great experience with them. I'm glad I found a reliable moving company. Thank you guys for the hard work! Tips: pack everything in boxes and have those easiest access as they will be placed first in truck. Found this company on Groupon.. scheduled a move a month in advance. Called a few days ahead of time asking for at least 4 to 5 wardrobe boxes and they didn't come with one single wardrobe box. They were supposed to arrive at 2pm but arrived after 4pm. It took them over 4 hours to load an efficiently packed 1 bedroom apartment. They were moving fast then asked me to guard the outside of the truck so no one steals anything. I stood outside for an hour and 40 minutes and they hadn't brought one single load down. They had my fob so I couldn't go up and see what was going on. I was calling the owner and the movers themselves and just at got excuses. They said it was bc of the clothing.. so I got punished and had to pay for almost 2 hours extra bc they failed to bring what they were supposed to bring. Due to me moving to a downtown complex we couldn't move in because of how long it took them to load the truck. The moving elevator was closed. I lost all my food bc it sat on the truck for over 24 hours, I couldn't take my medication, I couldn't change my clothes.. etc. I had to pay my dog sitter for an extra night. They then arrive the next day. I unloaded about half of the truck my self and afterward they tried to charge me almost $900 before tipping. Never paid that much in my life. And I have moved many times. They also informed me they are supposed to charge an overnight fee but will wave it for me! After unpacking, my tv cords were no where to be found.. they lost eight screws to my bedframe, and my clothing situation is so bad I can't even describe what is going on. What movers don't have wardrobe boxes... My couches were left on their sides and in random spots.. in their pictures, it shows that they will wrap your furniture in plastic. They have not a single tool on their truck aside dollies... your furniture will not get wrapped in plastic.. After they left they called me asking me to pick up a glass cabinet they forgot to unload so I had to drive to them to get it. I found out two of my friends hired this company and said it was the worst move experience of their life. This was a torcheres experience. And this is specifically for the owner ... I feel really bad for your employees.. you send them off with a truck and two dollies? What's your issue? Equip your employees properly... they need wardrobe boxes, plastic to wrap peoples furniture, and overflow box for a little miscellaneous items... etc. be a better boss. read more

2 movers, we paid $119/hr in cash for a minimum of 3 hours. Our apartment is on the third floor so it was an impossible job. I called up SD quality moving and a few other companies, and this was the most affordable. We had a 2 pm slot but I asked if the guys could come earlier, and they showed up at noon at my short notice. The movers were super professional and unloaded our truck in under 2 hours. Make sure you offer plenty of cold water and snacks, as this job is a tough one! I highly recommend this company- from the boss to the movers, everyone's professional, kind and honest. read more
