The food is great, but the service is extremely slow. I understand that walk-in customers may have a wait, but I placed my order an hour before arriving and still had to wait another 20 minutes after getting here to pick it up. The lobby was packed, every table was full, and many guests were still waiting for their food while others had already finished their meals. The servers were doing their best to accommodate everyone and remained professional throughout the rush, so I don't believe they're the issue. The biggest bottleneck seems to be the kitchen. Everyone else is moving with urgency, but the kitchen simply can't keep up. This is my usual Thumbs Up location and I'm the biggest Stan for the catfish breakfast. So when me and my husband made a plan to sneak out to breakfast alone midweek, it was EASY to choose this as our destination. Unfortunately, for the first time, the food was just okay. The fish wasn't seasoned as well as normal, the cheese grits were so packed with cheese they were almost stiff and I could barely taste the grit portion of the dish. I've been going to Thumbs Up East Point for years off and on. I've experienced I've always received good customer service but on May 10, 2026 I experienced the worst service ever. After placing our drinks and food orders with the server a young man wearing a goatee me and four of my family members waited over a hour for our food. Only for the food presentation to look thrown together horribly, some food was not received at all even after it was brought to the server's attention, and platters were received in increments causing one to be colder than the rest of the platter items. I am sad to have received this type of service because I brag so high of Thumbs Up. read more

Don't try to park at BOA across the street during business hours because they will take action. There aren't any reservations, so you'll have to put your name on the list.
