This is a small and quaint spot, it has a small bar with a few seats. The bar looked to have a nice selection. The windows brought in so much natural light. They have a upstairs eating area also. This place is simple but cute. It was lunchtime and service was top tier. I was greeted once walking in and immediately seated. I must do better with remember names...smh because my server deserves all the recognition, I can say he was a Caucasian, older gentleman. He was amazing!!! He was so nice, knew the menu, made recommendations, and kept a check on me. I found that all the staff helped each other, if water got low, another staffer filled it, plates got empty, someone different may take them away. Everyone was really nice. Now let's get into the drinks and food.... Mimosa(peach) perfectly mixed. The gumbo was recommended and it was good, it had nice size shrimp. The calamari was really good also. For my entree, I had the Shrimp cescer salad, it was delicious... even after finishing it up later that evening because I was so full. Overall impressions: 4.5 Ambiance: lovely entrance playing soft jazz, the decor was modern with a rustic home town vibe. There were about 15 tables that could accommodate 1-8 people. The dining room can get loud if all the tables. Full bar / wine serving Cajun style with a "Atlantean" flair. Service: 5 stars Rarely do I give a 5 star rating for a server but our server was exceptional. He was polite, friendly, helpful and was very attentive. He mentioned some recommendations and as a foodie himself, he made a couple recommendations. Food: 4-4.4 stars Shrimp Po-Boy: 4 Stars for the Po-Boy due to amount of shrimp, though they were larger than normal. The shrimp was seasoned and lightly breaded. However, the bread was wonderful. Light, airy, flaky and had the right amount of crunch to it. The creole sauce was good but the Po-Boy needed some additional hot sauce. The perfectly cooked fries were AWESOME! Highly recommend to get a side if your entree doesn't come with it. Lightly salted with hint of other seasoning and herbs and had the right amount of chew and crunch to them. Also, I believe the oil they use was a better quality than normal. Blacken Mahi-Mahi- 5 Stars The grilled blackened fish has the perfect on of Creole seasoning and was topped with a house-made Chimichurri Sauce and possibly honey. Served with seasonally roasted root vegetables. My wife loved it so much the plate was practically cleaned! LOL! Dessert Beignet - 3.75 Stars By our server's recommendation we ordered a serving of 3 beignets w Pecan Praline Caramel sauce. The beignets were hot and fresh and had a "snowy" amount of powdered sugar. It was covered with goodness. When we bit into them, they were light, airy and had a bit of a chew to them. My wife likes them more than Cafe Du Monde but I thought the dough had more chewiness to them. The Praline sauce was ok. Also, the sauce is extra $3.50. NOTE: Do not order a carton of water - Cost $5. Wasn't worth it. Get regular water. If we were staying another day, we would definitely come back. I highly recommend the place. Visited TheCorner Grille on a Friday around 6pm and had a great experience. Parking on Main Street was easy to find, and we were seated immediately -- a pleasant surprise at that time. Our waiter was outstanding: friendly, helpful, and gave great recommendations. I went with the fried catfish and shrimp, plus a cup of the shrimp and sausage gumbo. The gumbo was flavorful and well-balanced -- not too spicy, just right -- and while it only had two shrimp, it worked fine for the portion size. The fried catfish was cooked perfectly with a nice crispy texture, though it could've used a bit more seasoning to really stand out.. Would I go back? Yes, eventually. Every single dish was so tasty! The Kale & Artichoke dip was a perfect starter to share and came with wonderfully seasoned house made pita chips and salsa. The Kale & Beet salad was hearty and fresh with the refreshing vinaigrette. It does come pre-tossed in some dressing so personally, I didn't need to add more. The Cajun Chicken Pasta is the alternative to the seafood pasta and even though it's not listed on the menu it is definitely available and was recommended by our server. The desserts did not disappoint either. The raspberry syrup paired with the Blondie was a great lightly sweet and tart option while the beignets were more indulgent paired with four different sauces, including a pecan bourbon which did not disappoint. We went with a medium sized group and they were accommodating with the reservation, seating us in the upper area. The vibe is homey and cozy yet eclectic. Service was phenomenal. Our server offered awesome recommendations, was attentive and knowledgeable. When I first walked into The Corner Grille, I was hopeful for a great evening. A young woman greeted me while heading upstairs and said someone would be with me shortly. After waiting five minutes, she returned and asked if I'd been helped... when I said no, she just said, "They'll be right with you," and walked off again. I ended up waiting around seven minutes before another young lady finally seated me, but her hesitant and dismissive energy made me feel more like an inconvenience than a guest. I tried to shake it off and stay positive, thankfully, Kris completely turned my experience around. His energy was upbeat, welcoming, and so refreshing. He asked if I had visited before, and when I said it was my first time, he lit up with genuine excitement. He offered great menu recommendations and highlighted a few of his personal favorites. I decided to go with Kris's favorite: the Cajun Chicken Sandwich, and wow... I'm so glad I did. The chicken was perfectly fried, the Cajun seasoning was bold but not overpowering, and the slaw added the perfect crunchy, tangy balance. Absolutely phenomenal! I also took Beignets to-go, and they were the perfect sweet treat to end the night...soft, warm, and just the right amount of sweetness. All in all, Kris saved the experience with his top-tier customer service and thoughtful suggestions. Lovely neighborhood restaurant with tasty appetizers and entrees as well as a variety of wine be cocktails. I'd recommend the fried calamari and brussel sprouts for appetizers, I've had the grouper and Salmon Opelousas entrees which I'd go back for and a friend has the lemon pepper chicken which he enjoyed. The service was superb and the bartenders were lovely if you sat at the bar. The restaurant is experiencing a happy hour which we just missed but I'd like to check out. Tried The Corner Grille for the first time today and I'm already planning my next visit. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with just the right mix of class. I ordered the Salmon Opelousas, and swapped the rice for mashed potatoes--absolutely the right call. The salmon was perfectly cooked, tender and flaky, with a rich, flavorful sauce that had just the right Cajun kick. One of the good things that came out of the Delta meltdown that kept me in ATL two extra days is I was able to try The Corner Grille. Realistically there would have not been a reason for me to try a restaurant in the College Park area since I rarely stay in that area when visiting. Stopped in after a flight into ATL for lunch. Very easy parking and just a couple of minutes drive. We were starving and our server made quick work of our orders. I had a shrimp poboy with fries and it was excellent. Possibly the best French bread I've ever had. Super soft on the inside but toasted and crusty on the outside. The shrimp were delicious! Tasted fresh and were cooked perfectly. Nice shredded lettuce and tomato and a little spicy remoulade were great additions. My friends had the special salmon dish that they loved too. When we were leaving, we noticed a table filled with gumbo, catfish and fried shrimp dinners that looked amazing!! Great service from our waitress! The food was pretty good. We ordered the salmon on kale salad, which was fresh and flavorful. I got creative and made a crab cake sandwich by ordering the appetizer with two smaller crab cakes. The kitchen kindly combined them into one larger cake, which I placed on their toasted French bread and topped with their tasty coleslaw. For dessert, we enjoyed the beignets with pecan caramel sauce on the side. A satisfying meal overall, but not 5-star because I would've loved more crabmeat in the crab cake, and the hush puppies were disappointing. Enjoyed an early dinner on a Tuesday evening. The restaurant wasn't busy at all. We were greeted by the nice hostess and escorted to a table upstairs. Our waiter was really friendly and helpful with the menu. I ordered the Cajun seafood pasta which was delicious. The only problem is the excess oil that was just sitting in the pasta after I ate a few bites. I also tried the beignets which came out warm. They were so good!! Felt like I was in New Orleans. So I usually don't come on set of town but I was here. The corner grill has been on my list of places to go to for a while and I'm glad I got a chance to check it out. Their street parking there so you don't have to worry about a lot. It's a two-story establishment so you may think that it's not that much space but there really is because they have a whole upstairs. If decorated nice and clean and very brightly lit. The spot itself is very small one appearance but they make it work. They have a bar, not a pool bar but they have enough if you want to order. So if you did need to go ahead and get some liquor it would be an issue. The brunch they have is only for Saturday so if you look on that online and want something for the brunch menu you would not be able to get Alexis designated a specific day for it. But the food that they have elsewhere is good though. Our waitress explain everything to us of menu so we know exactly what we were getting and what they had and did not have. She was super nice and friendly and make sure we had a lot of time to decide. The beignets for good. The shrimp and grits were good even though I didn't get that. Either of getting the case or pasta and it was amazing. Some of the best Cajun pasta that I've had. It was nice and season to perfection. It just the right amount of sweet spice to it. I have the brussel sprouts as a side, they weren't that many but they were still though. I would order all of it over again. Overall I would definitely suggest trying to spot out. Although my MARTA trips to the airport have always passed through College Park, I had never had the opportunity to stop off. Now, I feel like I have a reason to. The Corner Grille is a small eatery that is few steps from the College Park MARTA Station. Everything from the service, to the food, to the ambiance was on point, making my experience at The Corner Grille nothing short of spectacular. The menu has a primarily Cajun/Creole influence to it with some other American offerings included. A lot of their dishes include seafood, which they prepare extremely well. As an appetizer, my family and I split an order of shrimp and corn fritters. Those were alright, kind of just an expensive hush puppy. The shrimp was noticeable, but in very light quantity. My big recommendation for your meal: get the Salmon Opelousas. I have no idea what Opelousas is, but my goodness this dish was so amazing. It may be one of the best salmon dishes I've had! For context, the dish contains blackened salmon with a crawfish and mushroom cream sauce over rice. The salmon (which we requested medium) was cooked perfectly, tender and so fresh tasting. Although it wasn't seasoned too heavily in my opinion, the salmon carried plenty of its own natural flavor. The cream sauce was not too heavy and contained plenty of crawfish inside. Plus, who doesn't like rice and sauce, the age-old combination? This dish was the recommendation of the house, and is mine to you. I also got to try a few other dishes too. I was super impressed with the shrimp and grits. The shrimp were cooked and seasoned perfectly and the sausage and grits together gave the dish great balance. My parents were especially fond of the kale and beet salad, it had many different flavors and textures put together with a beautiful dressing. They could not get enough of that salad! Lastly, the charred broccoli was prepared nicely. The broccoli itself was tender and wasn't too salty, but also not bitter. The char wasn't overpowering. The three of us were able to family-style the entire meal, the portions here were certainly generous enough to allow us to try a little bit of everything! Aside from the food, everything else was to the highest quality. The interior is small, but cozy and lively. It gives a good vibe without it being too casual nor upscale. Service here was impeccable, our waitress was extremely attentive and helpful with her recommendations. They even had one of the chefs serving food and talking to guests. I love a great brunch spot, and The Corner Grille did not disappoint! It's located on a main street that has other trendy choices for breakfast/brunch, but the lines are long, and the music too loud. My sister and I went to the Corner Grille during the week for breakfast, but they only serve it on the weekends. We made a reservation for 4 and were promptly seated, then greeted by our waiter, Roger. He made some recommendations, but I already knew that I wanted to try the seafood omelette. It was one of the best omelettes I've ever eaten. The seafood (shrimp, crab meat) tasted fresh, and the eggs were cooked just right--not too runny and not too hard. BUT, it was the creamy sauce that took the omelette to a whole another level. It was so flavorful. The next time I return, and I most certainly will when I'm back in Atlanta, I'll ask for extra sauce. My sister ordered the chicken and waffles and enjoyed her meal. It's better you leave that to the greens. It does nothing for the salmon in my opinion. The flavor of the dressing is light, and I enjoyed it. The salmon is lightly seasoned, but seasoned enough for a nice tasty balanced meal. I look forward to trying all the seafood options here.
