On this visit, I'm going to highlight how amazing the oatmeal raisin cookies are. They literally taste like someone's grandma made them in the back kitchen. Asked for the smallest wings available and if there wasn't, please let me know. In the past, upon making this request, it hasn't been a problem. The wings I received look like big whole wings, that were cut in half. The wings darn near look like Turkey wings. When I spoke to the manager about the problem, I was told this is smallest they have-totally disregarding my original request to let me know. If the manger wasn't an older lady, I would have demanded my money back. Also, on the receipt it clearly states "Smallest Wings Possible" and "Small Wings No Big Wings." The problem I have is there was no regard for my original request and then the lack to try and make the situation right or lack of concern. My work ordered takeout from here so I can't speak on service or ambiance. I chose the chicken fingers with fries. For my sauces, I selected honey mustard as well as BBQ, and also asked for ketchup packets and a side of hot sauce. I absolutely LOVE the rare mod of ordering "crispy fries," so when I saw that as an option, I was stoked. The crinkle cut fries were crispy as promised, and satisfying! As for the chicken fingers, they were very dry... but nothing sauce can't fix! I alternated dunks into the BBQ, Hot Sauce, and Honey Mustard--all were enjoyable. I was carving some wings and fingured this would be a good spot. I used to frequent the JR Crickets in Midtown but since moving to the Southside, this is around the corner. The wings were crispy with just the right amount of sauce; I usually get extra wet (IYKYK) but this was just right. The drinks were strong and flavorful; bartender must've been in a good mood that day. We went because we thought there was going to be triva on Thursdays, but there was none, just something to be aware of. Parking is free and the restaurant has been renovated with clean bathrooms and a nice patio. Overall, I'll definitley return. Solid choice for wings and good drinks. read more

I visited this location on Saturday, October 1st. My first experience was just okay, and the food was decent. Because of that, I decided to give the restaurant another try and I'm glad I did! The second time was definitely a charm. During my first visit, the light-skinned male bartender made me a Don Julio margarita for $20, served in a small 4 oz glass and made with margarita mix. It wasn't worth the price. Definitely overpriced. However, on my return visit, David prepared my drink, and it was phenomenal! He used the proper ingredients, served it in an 8 oz glass, and the flavor was on point. His energy was great, and even though he was the only bartender, he managed to keep everyone happy and checked on all his guests. If David is behind the bar and the food remains as good as it was, I'll definitely be back. But if the other bartender is working and serving those $20 margaritas made with mix--I'll pass. read more

Soooo, if you old old Atlanta, you remember what this place used to be and we adjusted. I would lying if I did not acknowledge that is was loooonnggg over due for new owners and some upgrades and that's just what has happened!! I love this particular JR Crickets location and the Original downtown(even tho wayyy too much going on at that one these days)...y'all can keep the rest of em (in my Atlanta voice). But that's also due to the fact that these two are most familiar. We enjoyed the ambiance, the live DJ and the beautiful up such as the marble style floors(which is rare for a bars set-up, and the various TVs for ease of watching the Texas vs NO game). The food was typical JR Crickets fashion but there were a few things that I want to call out: 1. The food was not hot; well sat at the bar and maybe it wasn't picked up fast enough but the fries where for sure room temp. If the food was hot it would have been a 500 out of a 100. 2. The mixed drinks are weak af, so I would stick to the "straight" light chaser. I had the peach tea and my sis had the mixed Long Island that the bartender Alicia stated she had mixed a few days prior so we took a chance on it. Titos and Jack are 6 dollars everyday so it makes more sense to get a double of these guys instead of anything mixed. 3. 20% gratuity on ALL dine in orders, so read read read. We did not tip over as the service was service. Nothing extra just to the point...I feel like had we'd complained about the room temp food or the mixed drinks being weak, it would not have been received well by our bar tender. Tonight was the first time I visited this J. R. cricket location. I guess I was expecting the same type of service and quality of food that I have become accustomed to at the South Cobb location. Understanding it has just recently reopened, the servers need more training. One male server passed by my table and asked was everything OK. Before I could get a word out, I realized he didn't expect a response because he kept moving. I saw him in deep conversation with a man that said he was something Floyd. At least that's the name I heard him mention as he was talking to some people at a table next to me. Anyhow, I ordered some chicken wings, Only. The waitress said it came with a side, so i ordered some onion rings and a bottle of water When I voiced my concern about the quality of the food the waitress responded "I'm new here". Not even an would you like to talk to the manager. Of course the manager was busy talking about all of the televisions and his beautiful refinished floors, instead of checking with the customers, to thank them for coming and make sure they were ok! I was shocked that my 13.99 wings + 1.00 for water came to $19.00 I was charged an up charge for the onion rings and a 10% order and pay fee. The waitress again, could not explain that charge to me. Neither did she refer the MANAGER to me! I wonder if the workers can approach the manager! After arriving home, I called +1 (404) 330-8874 to speak with the manager and was told the mail box was full I moved from Vinnings to CASCADE HEIGHTS so I could have more space and be around people who look like me! I was getting my truck serviced at an auto shop up the street from this spot and decided to come in and have a beer and wings while I waited. Right off the bat, the bathroom was not clean, it looked like the owner paid a junkie to install the sink and toilets, just didn't look or feel clean and in this day and time with covid running wild , I was concerned. This is my second time at JR Crickets, but this specific location set the tone for me to never come back. The waitor I had was extremely self centered, flirtatious, and passive aggressive. He had a smart ass comment for EVERYTHING. I asked the waitor about certain things on the menu and he rudely replied "either you're going to get it or not." I mean really is this how JR Crickets really handles business on a daily? Going further, a random woman from the kitchen brought the wrong food to the table and had the audacity to blame the customer for her mistake Her specific words: "He took the wrong food. He ate sombody elses food." Yet she wasn't even our designated server. For this place to he full of so much audacity, the damn food should at LEAST be good. My grandma cooks better than this. We received horrible service here. The bar person didnt have any customer service skills. We waited about 10 minutes before she even walked out to assist ( which she barely did.) The service and prices dont match at all. Nor the food. The wings arent cruncy at all. The wings weren't fried long enough to even taste fried. They were soggy. I asked for hot lemon pepper but I didnt get that. They gave me something but it wasn't a hot sauce. I asked for ranch dressing but they gave me blue cheese. Waitress didn't even try to see if me and my husband food was on the same ticket. She purposely seperated our orders. Never even asked are yall together? Is this on the same ticket? Nothing.
