Whiskey BBQ is my spot and my people! The food is VERY good They also have a Sunday brunch for only $12, and it's really good too. The drinks are good, and they have live bands a couple of nights on the weekend. They also have poker some days and daily specials, which is a great deal for Atlanta. The owner and bartenders are my folks, and they're always nice and welcoming. Now, I will say they run out of stuff A LOT! That has become a running joke between me and them, but honestly, it doesn't even bother me anymore. Once you get to know the people there and become part of the vibe, you'll love the place. It really feels like a neighborhood spot where you know the staff and people know you. Most nights, it's free to get in, unless they have a band playing, and then they may charge $5 or $10. It's definitely a grown folks spot, although during the day they do allow kids. And one thing that's a HUGE plus for me: PARKING IS ALWAYS FREE! This was just ok nothing at all to brag about. If I go back I will definitely request my chicken not to be fried hard or try another menu item. read more

This was my first time at this restaurant, and everything was delicious. The employee was very friendly and attentive. It also was a nice crowd sitting at tables and the bar. I had the rib tips with collard greens, and tater tots. I only ate a little bit, but as you see by the photos, you get a nice portion of food. My husband had a half rack of ribs, and tots. This place is hood. They allow the cars to be parked right at the front door. Signs everywhere saying no parking fire zone and the patrons still do it and the owners allow it. Then there's motorcycles all over the place parked illegally. The music is so loud the residents on the adjacent street complain, I know because a friend has complained. This place is another hidden gem. I met my coworker here one day and I was pleasantly surprised by the service, the food and the drinks. I ordered a lemon drop and a salmon sandwich..... both were great! The salmon was very flavorful and the lemon drop was one of the best ones that I've had. Located in a shopping center that doesn't look like much, we walked in when they were just opening, so empty... The restaurant/bar is very clean and open spaces. Not much decor but a ton of TVs to watch sports, looked like the entertain and have live music events. The music was 70's Marvin Gaye and so nostalgic. Our meals were served in styrofoam take out containers and DID NOT disappoint! The beef tips were hot and perfect. The fried okra and tater tots hot and crispy. The brisket sandwich was buttered toast bread with great flavor and the brisket was tender and perfect. The mac-n-cheese was home style and baked and to die for!! This isn't a 5-star look. It's a neighborhood place I'd describe as better than a hole-in-the wall but has the feel. The owner and son were also welcoming and just great people.. I gave this place 5 stars b/c it's a place I'd love to come back to and hopefully will. Came into this location because a friend suggested it. It started off a bit shaky with the service. The waiter gave us wrong information regarding what was on the menu. The owner fixed the issue promptly which I loved. I ordered chicken gizzards and lemon pepper smoked wings which were good. Well came in on a Sunday afternoon about 6 understood they have jazz on Sunday. Was at the bar to get drinks we were by the one as soon as you walked in. No service was given kept waving at the two sitting at the end of the bar on a computer and nothing, found out it was the owner doing scheduling I'm guessing. Well managed to wave someone and was told this was not her side and that we had to wait for someone named Kat, but she turned around and said if haven't been helped by the time she gets back she would take care of us. Now mind you we only wanted drinks saw there were 4 or 5 people on the other side but just one for the one by the front door. So she came over but was fixing a drink for someone on the floor and never ever looked around the bar to see if anyone needed help. Tried to get her attention but nothing so we left. The service was Awesome because I asked for what I wanted & got it with a nice vibe. Monday's 6 wings & fries for $6 and fries were fresh. Also, there is Chicago Step class starts at 7PM. I chose the rib tips, collard greens and Mac n cheese. Both choices were dead on. My fiancé is a finicky eater and for her to approve of her meal (which wasn't chicken tenders) that within itself says a lot. The egg rolls was damn good, according to her. My rib tips were super tender and melted as you bit into them. The greens were damn good as well. The mac n cheese could use some work but I won't nitpick at all.
