Turkey Wings ( Sunday Only) with Mac and Cheese and Cabbage
Roland C.

Located in Jonesboro, I kept seeing this place come up in searches for food, but was hesitant because there weren't a lot of reviews. Finally tried it, food was GOOD! It was everything we needed for dinner Sunday night. Turkey leg was cooked properly and the fried pork chops weren't dry. Everything was seasoned well. They also have fried corn on the cob (yes, they fried it). Staff was extremely friendly and service was very good. Would recommend this restaurant to anybody in the neighborhood.

Smothered pork chops with rice and gravy , Mac and cheese, collards, cornbread

The service is wonderful. The food was just ok. Collards way over cooked. Mac and cheese wasn't good. However the corn bread is the best I ever had. Call ahead of time if you go because there is a wait. Worth a visit.

Fried Chicken Plate w/ Mac & cheese and Collard greens & cornbread

Black Owned Business ! Food was delicious, fresh & made to order The building is ducked off to where you can't see it from the highway . The building is new & business is just getting established. Fried chicken was fresh , seasoned , NOT greasy at all . Sweet Heat sauce for the wings were great ,not too hot & not too sweet just the right amount of flavor. The sides had some good flavor . Candied yams had the right amount of sweetness , cabbage has some good flavors with the bell peppers , collard greens were good & Mac Cheese was the bomb . If you are looking for a good soul food place in ATL ,here is one!!!

The food came a little later than the original delivery time, so I did need to warm it up. Once warmed, to my liking the food was great.

Tried "It's About South" on Friday the 13th while getting my windows tinted, they have a great…read moremenu, so I had trouble deciding what I wanted. I chose the cabbage, chicken wings, mac n cheese, yams, and the sweet potato pound cake. I totally enjoyed my meal. It is my opinion that this food is very good. I live down the street so I will be going back for more of this good food. The people were very nice, and the store was very clean. Thank you and I wish you all the best.

So I was looking for some good soul food yesterday (Sunday, July 13th). The first place I went to…read morewas closed so this place was a suggestion. I ordered smothered turkey wing (rice included) , greens, and dressing. Even though other reviews mentioned that the food was bland and needed salt/seasonings....it was actually good to me. I enjoyed the greens so much that I decided to get a veggie plate today. I placed my order via Door Dash and still had to wait 15 minutes once I got there. Does it really take 15 extra minutes for 4 veggies; greens, blackeyed peas, fried corn, and potato salad when I ordered via Door Dash? You would think they would be already prepared. So once I get home, my 4 veggies were cold and the collard greens were SUPER salty. I live about 10 minutes away so my food should've still been hot. It seems that Sunday maybe the best day to order....EVERYTHING was perfect!

I visited this spot on Easter and overall I had a really great experience. Yes, the wait was long,…read morebut honestly I expected that because of the holiday. If anything, I took it as a good sign. I noticed people weren't leaving or giving up on the line, they were staying and waiting, and to me that says the food must be good. Now let's get into the food... because this is where they really shine. I've had a lot of soul food around Atlanta, and I can honestly say flavor can be hit or miss depending on the place. But whoever is in that kitchen here, they are doing their thing. Everything tasted very homemade, like real deal, cooked with love type of food. The cornbread gave very much old school, just right. The peach cobbler? Absolutely outstanding. It's actually rare to find a restaurant peach cobbler that truly tastes homemade, and this one definitely did. That alone would make me come back. We ordered the beef meatloaf, mac and cheese, collard greens, lima beans, and dressing. The dressing was especially good, again very homemade and full of flavor. The only small thing I would mention is there wasn't any gravy on the dressing, and I would've loved that. The meatloaf was good, but could've used a bit more sauce since it was just a pinch overcooked. Outside of that, everything was really good. The food was flavorful, the portions were solid, and the prices were very affordable. Overall, I'd definitely rate this place highly. I truly enjoyed it and will be coming back. I'll also be recommending it to my family and friends for sure.
