Service was good Ambiance was clean and inviting The food was hot and fresh. The BBQ chicken was cooked and seasoned well. The banana pudding was calling my name and it was not disappointing. An excellent decision for my Sunday dinner.

    Just me!

    Baked Chicken Meal

This meal is awful... I should've left like I wanted to after I saw what they had to offer, but I stayed and I am paying for it. I got the baked chicken and it's dry. The macaroni and greens have no flavor.... Needless to say for $40, I'm highly disappointed. This customer service was lacking as well. I can tell you I will not be back, but I wanted something other than fast food after spending time with my mother who is in the hospital. I wanted to feel some comfort food on my belly, but I guess I will have to get back in my own kitchen if this is the new Soulfood cause it definitely lacks soul!

Great black owned establishment with great food and service. Stopped in on New Years Day to be pleasantly greeted by the owner Marvin and Randal who helped assist me up front. Great selection of soul food that all looked delightfully tasty. I settled on Oxtails with Rice, Black Eye PeasX and Cabbage. With a side of Catfish. My total was $36 which was great for all that I got. Although a holiday the food and service didn't disappoint. Will be back to try a fried pork chop and fried chicken.

Oh my, this was so good. I was looking for a hearty meal, and this hit the spot. I found Granny's Soul Food by driving around my hotel. I peered in the window, and it looked like casual dining, so I went inside. At first, I was going for the pork chops, which are cooked to order. But my eyes betrayed me, and I saw the oxtails. This is my third time having oxtails; each time, they get better and better. Now, I must say the oxtails today are the best of the other two. They were so tender I used a plastic fork to get the meat from the bone. It slid right off without pulling. The sweet potatoes were good and light, not too caramelized, and I loved the greens. I will most definitely be back because, for one, the service was great, and the food was delicious. Plus, I want to try the pork chops, ribs, macaroni, and cabbage!

This was my first time here and let's just say, this wasn't for me. I'm a little disappointed cause I was really in the mood for something other than the traditional fast food spots that are in this area. First, the prices are extremely over priced for what is being served. I noticed that off hand and I should've turned around but I stuck it out, hoping the food would be a treat. Most of the meat items are $14.99+ that's your chicken, then $16.99 for your ribs and maybe pork and it goes up from there. I have never paid $14.99 for a leg quarter before but hey, you live and you learn. I placed my order at 11:30am and to me, upon 2nd peek into the foggy glass window of the buffet line, the food didn't look entirely fresh but again, I'm not sure how long they had been open. However, this was now strike 2 and I knew better. The leg quarter was decent size and I repeat, , I have never paid $14.99 for a piece of baked chicken. It wasn't season that well and possibly overcooked cause it was tough in the inside. The Mac & cheese looked sketchy from the start but my child requested that and you know a child can't resist noodles and cheese. The black eye peas were strike 3, a very big no no. This was the most deceptive menu item cause these looked good! They are cooked with turkey meat so I just knew somebody put both their feet in the pot. But no ma'am. They left the feet out the pot and the thrill was gone! The BEP's are lacking seasoning and the beans were hard, possibly from the previous day pot even. Overall, my review is based on overpriced food and the lack of flavor. The quality of the food does not support the price. With that price point, there should be a fresh rotation of food daily but the beans definitely were either from the previous day or just done wrong and the chicken is way over priced. I have went to similar concepts and paid $10-$12 for the same plate of food and had better results. I really hope this was a one off :(

Fried Pork Chop, Macaroni & Cheese, Rice & Gravy

GREAT SERVICE! This was my first time coming and will definitely be back off the customer service alone!Randall was great. I ordered the fried pork chop plate with the mac and rice and gravy! Very good (as you can see I've already dug in)

Oxtails and rice, with sweet potatoes and squash

We were greeted as soon as we walked in . This is by far the best soul food I've had in the four years I've lived here! I ordered oxtails, sweet potatoes and squash. Turkey wings cabbage, black eye peas and green beans were purchased as well! Let me say, im ordering another oxtail plate to go!

I visited this spot on Easter and overall I had a really great experience. Yes, the wait was long,…read morebut honestly I expected that because of the holiday. If anything, I took it as a good sign. I noticed people weren't leaving or giving up on the line, they were staying and waiting, and to me that says the food must be good. Now let's get into the food... because this is where they really shine. I've had a lot of soul food around Atlanta, and I can honestly say flavor can be hit or miss depending on the place. But whoever is in that kitchen here, they are doing their thing. Everything tasted very homemade, like real deal, cooked with love type of food. The cornbread gave very much old school, just right. The peach cobbler? Absolutely outstanding. It's actually rare to find a restaurant peach cobbler that truly tastes homemade, and this one definitely did. That alone would make me come back. We ordered the beef meatloaf, mac and cheese, collard greens, lima beans, and dressing. The dressing was especially good, again very homemade and full of flavor. The only small thing I would mention is there wasn't any gravy on the dressing, and I would've loved that. The meatloaf was good, but could've used a bit more sauce since it was just a pinch overcooked. Outside of that, everything was really good. The food was flavorful, the portions were solid, and the prices were very affordable. Overall, I'd definitely rate this place highly. I truly enjoyed it and will be coming back. I'll also be recommending it to my family and friends for sure.

At first I thought the prices were a little high but then I saw what all we got and it was well worth what they charge. We actually were confused at first by the Vegan trailer outside. I assumed they cooked in the house and sold out of the food trailer but that is a whole separate business, when I asked for meat they said "over there." We went inside the house and we were greeted by 2 nice beautiful ladies that explained all our questions, as it was our first trip in, and we put our order in. There is a good bit of room inside if you want to dine in but we were on the road so Togo it was. We ordered the 2 ribs lunch, a half rack which was 6 bones and the pork sandwich. I got the hot bbq on the half rack and it was actually medium in hotness just fyi. I'm not a huge fan of beef ribs because most people can't get them tender enough but TOH did the deed and they were fairly tender. We will be back again to try other options.
