So, I came here on a whim to try out some soul food in my area. This was the closest place to me so I tried this restaurant. My experience was so-so here. Service was okay. I waited about 2 minutes before someone came out to take my order. The menu is pretty big but not too overwhelming. The wait for the food was around 10-12 minutes. And from the pictures it looked super good. However, the taste was definitely different. Side dishes lacked salt (to me) and the rice wasn't cooked all the way through. Cornbread was very dry and the Smothered turkey chop I ordered was pretty good. The plates are pretty expensive, but they do give you a lot. I do hope they do get a makeover inside the establishment since it's a bit all over the place, but nonetheless they are some nice people just tryna make some good food. I passed by here a couple weeks back and decided to stop in this past Sunday. There were a few people waiting and I talked to a regular since the restaurant opened she made suggestions which was everything on the smothered chicken plate. The corn muffin was fine rice cooked perfectly which was a plus chicken was a little over cooked for my liking and could have used more salt and the collards were just ok. Now for plate two I got this plate for my friend but of course I tried everything on it . The pork chops were good and still hot when I got to her house, the cabbage was good, the Mac and cheese looked like Kraft, but it did not taste like Kraft.It was nice and creamy and very flavorful I would definitely get it again the plate comes with 2 sides, I wanted Mac and cheese, but it was not ready when I placed my order, however; it was ready before I left so she gave me a cup which I appreciated. The dressing is a big no for me worst thing on both plates I would not order it again my friend agreed. We also had Carmel cake, but I forgot to take a picture. It was good as well. Came here when we hear Bany Jane's was closed - they have very accommodating hours - and wow so good! perfect soul/comfort food for me! Homemade Pies! On first come first serve basis sweet potato pie yum! yes is fabulous which is why it sells out. And the plates are huge - easily had enough to take to dad and my grown man son couldn't even eat all the ribs falling off the bone! I do love bone in Fried chicken - out of white meat I got dark and man so juicy and the collard greens yum! I was told that the wait was 25 mins and I have been here over one hour yall. They have a sign that said food is made to order but baked chicken is not made to order. When I asked for a refund they said it's coming out now and 10 minutes later Im still here! Haven't even tried the food yet. First let me say the customer service here is horrible. I was here for a doordash order. I was told it would be ready in 10 minutes. 45 minutes later someone from the kitchen comes out and tells me 15 minutes still. I was assigned another order for here . And they got mad cause me and other dashers was standing near the counter. There was no where else to go as the restaurant was packed with people waiting for there food. We received a call back from the restaurant about 20 minutes later to be told they didn't have potato salad so we made a different choice. About 20 min later we received another phone call that they didn't have greens or sweet potato pie. Now mind you we ordered the turkey and dressing dinners that comes with 2 sides and muffin. Wow! We stumbled on this new restaurant in McDonough, GA, at lunchtime on Saturday. We were so glad we did. Best food we have had in a long time. And the servings were generous enough that we ended up with 'doggie bags' for a complete other meal. This is a real gem of a restaurant.
