I decided to take a quick lunch break here and ordered a chicken combo with a side of gizzards. Customer service was great. I didn't get to eat the entire meal because the bag was drenched in grease. And when I pulled it out of bag it was even more greasier full of oil. $20 worth of food just gone to waste. The employees at the food depot I was servicing in the same plaza warned me not to go there. But I still taste the items before throwing away and the gizzards were extremely hard to bite into. I used to come here when I was a child. My father lived in McDonough so we'd come by every now and then. The service is nothing to write home about, it's not awful but they're also not very talkative, which is fine, I understand. Anyway, it's just like I remembered, absolutely delicious! Nice and crispy, super nostalgic. I got the chicken tenders and got my nephew a leg & thigh. He inhaled his food. There was nothing left on that bone man. They use steak fries and they give a roll with each meal. Next time, I'd get the wing, leg or thigh and skip the tenders. If you do get the tenders, you might want to tell them to cook it longer . Customer service is horrible. I was overcharged for my meal and I brought it to the young lady named Keke's attention in a polite manner. She responded to me that her job is to make the food and to serve it. You can call the owner tomorrow. You are the same employee who took my order and processed the payment. She also told me that she did not have anything to do with me being charged more than the price states. She could have corrected the error but refused to so I said ok I will call my bank. However she called the owner while I was there and she stated to the owner these prices are all messed up. Did she come to me and apologize and try and correct the problem? No she did not. The restaurant score is an 80 B. I normally would have not ordered with the score being an 80 B. I wanted to shop with a black owned business. My wife and I did agree the chicken was pretty decent. I ordered from them using Postmates. My driver was there almost an hour and a half waiting on our food. Then when we received our food we were missing half our order. This was my first time trying this business but they seem to be unprofessional and not capable of handling customers in store and delivery. All we had was some chicken tenders and fries, a 2 piece and fries, some okra, and the 4 piece we ordered was not packed. I have been coming to this place since we moved to Henry county in 1992 (long time). This is defiantly well deserving of 5 stars. Their chicken is seasoned to perfection & fried just right. There is no dining area. It's more of a grab and go kinda place. I am so glad I no longer live near this place because it wouldn't be the best for my diet. I ate at this spot today. NOTHING like the one near Gordon College. I went lunch time. The wait was ok but the places was FILTHY. The guy cooking in the back DOES NOT use gloves. He breading and frying chicken W/O gloves. He grabbed chicken right out the bucket without gloves. The AC is literally leaking water from ceiling near cooked chicken. To TOP IT OFF, the same AC from ceiling has black mold around the border of it on the ceiling. I mean the whole area is practically MOLDED. It was DISGUSTING. The staff can't get orders correct even after going back in to correct. The place looks like the have NEVER CLEANED IT. The staff is sliding across the floor which clearly means they are never cleaning the grease of the floor at night. I called for half an hour on my way home from work so I could place an order for pick up. No answer. I arrived a few minutes before they close and as soon as I walked in someone said they would not drop anymore chicken. There were 4-5 other customers in line. I heard a lady ask if they were going to drop chicken for the customers who had been waiting. I left since I was not going to get service. While I was calling my boyfriend to see what he would like instead, a lady came out and said she had been in line 45 minutes and they were not willing to take her order. I looked back inside and could see another lady arguing with them because they would not take her order and she had been waiting for a long time too.
