    Baked Chicken Dinner (dark)

Visited Brown's Kitchen on late Sunday afternoon for the first time. Small mom and pop shop vibes. Great spot for soul food. There was a parking lot nearby. The restaurant was busy, but the wait wasn't too long. The staff were friendly. The food was filling, fresh, and flavorful. Prices were reasonable.

Food was actually really good until i thought i had a hard stem from the greens in my mouth. It appears to be some kind of zip tie

I love to support black businesses and put my money into them but this time, this is a HUGE Never Again! Where do I even begin??? I can't even review the food for this place because the wait is ridiculous. I understand the "cooked to order" concept, but they must have to hunt the chicken, catch the chicken, kill it, clean it and then cook it. It's literally ridiculous how long it takes. Are they cooking with a toaster oven or something?? It's very small so place your order and go back to car (if you even bother ordering from here.). And don't even think about standing at the counter - they have signs and hate it when you do. Do not let TikTok trick you into coming here. Oh and let me also mention that they don't have even HALF the stuff they listed on the menu. Let me tell you the most RIDICULOUS part: a two piece fish is them taking one tilapia filet and breaking it in half. I.KID.YOU.NOT. ****** Update after getting my order an hour and 10 minutes later***** This food is gross. The baked chicken is salty - way too salty in fact. I ordered a veggie plate for my husband: mashed potatoes (unseasoned and no gravy), pinto beans (hard and crunchy), sweet potatoes (good and seasoned well) and macaroni and cheese (gross!). I had the baked chicken (too salty), black eyed peas (no seasoning and some of the peas were hard), mac and cheese (gross. It's tasted rushed and had the funky cheese taste. Almost as if someone said let me just put some cheese in here). *Note: I took one scoop of everything out of my box just in case I didn't like it yet. Yup, didn't like it. This place is not going to last long at all with this type of service and piss-poor quality food.

So, I came here on a whim to try out some soul food in my area. This was the closest place to me so I tried this restaurant. My experience was so-so here. Service was okay. I waited about 2 minutes before someone came out to take my order. The menu is pretty big but not too overwhelming. The wait for the food was around 10-12 minutes. And from the pictures it looked super good. However, the taste was definitely different. Side dishes lacked salt (to me) and the rice wasn't cooked all the way through. Cornbread was very dry and the Smothered turkey chop I ordered was pretty good. The plates are pretty expensive, but they do give you a lot. I do hope they do get a makeover inside the establishment since it's a bit all over the place, but nonetheless they are some nice people just tryna make some good food. This is my review, and I wish nothing but UP for them!

A Taste of Heaven Rib Shack - Honest Review…read more I ordered the chicken, potato salad, mac and cheese, and cornbread, and I really expected the food to be off the chain, especially being from New Orleans where flavor is everything. The service was fine, but the food itself missed the mark for me. The seasoning was bland, the sides didn't have that homemade taste I was hoping for, and shortly after eating, I started feeling nauseous, which was disappointing and concerning. I wanted to love it, but the meal just didn't live up to the name or the hype.

At first I thought the prices were a little high but then I saw what all we got and it was well worth what they charge. We actually were confused at first by the Vegan trailer outside. I assumed they cooked in the house and sold out of the food trailer but that is a whole separate business, when I asked for meat they said "over there." We went inside the house and we were greeted by 2 nice beautiful ladies that explained all our questions, as it was our first trip in, and we put our order in. There is a good bit of room inside if you want to dine in but we were on the road so Togo it was. We ordered the 2 ribs lunch, a half rack which was 6 bones and the pork sandwich. I got the hot bbq on the half rack and it was actually medium in hotness just fyi. I'm not a huge fan of beef ribs because most people can't get them tender enough but TOH did the deed and they were fairly tender. We will be back again to try other options.

I visited this spot on Easter and overall I had a really great experience. Yes, the wait was long,…read morebut honestly I expected that because of the holiday. If anything, I took it as a good sign. I noticed people weren't leaving or giving up on the line, they were staying and waiting, and to me that says the food must be good. Now let's get into the food... because this is where they really shine. I've had a lot of soul food around Atlanta, and I can honestly say flavor can be hit or miss depending on the place. But whoever is in that kitchen here, they are doing their thing. Everything tasted very homemade, like real deal, cooked with love type of food. The cornbread gave very much old school, just right. The peach cobbler? Absolutely outstanding. It's actually rare to find a restaurant peach cobbler that truly tastes homemade, and this one definitely did. That alone would make me come back. We ordered the beef meatloaf, mac and cheese, collard greens, lima beans, and dressing. The dressing was especially good, again very homemade and full of flavor. The only small thing I would mention is there wasn't any gravy on the dressing, and I would've loved that. The meatloaf was good, but could've used a bit more sauce since it was just a pinch overcooked. Outside of that, everything was really good. The food was flavorful, the portions were solid, and the prices were very affordable. Overall, I'd definitely rate this place highly. I truly enjoyed it and will be coming back. I'll also be recommending it to my family and friends for sure.

There was a bit of smoke in the air but it was interfering with my breathing. The food was a 4. The Mac n cheese was basic that you expect from restaurant. I never expect or receive homemade quality mac n cheese. It was not nasty, just not traditional baked style. The turkey wing was tender. The collard greens were perfect! They were not salty or bland. The cornbread was good. Overall, I would visit again because they offer menu options that are homestyle. Plenty to choose from if you dont eat pork or beef. Oh the deciding factor for me when choosing to visit a new restaurant is the health score. They had a 96A!

Customer service is great…read more Food is good, but you have to be aware of the prices posted on their a la carte menu. All though the prices are reasonable, they are actually higher than whats posted on their display board. The manager/owner is aware of this because I personally spoke with him several months ago and he has yet to change the pricing on the display board to align with whats actually being charged. I don't have a problem with paying whatever the price would be, my problem is with them not being upfront with their pricing. It's a matter of principle. I have been given cause to question their ethics and if I feel that they are not ethical, unfortunately I am unable to support the business. So my concluding message is buyer beware!

I love fried chicken (who doesn't?) but typically find other breading to be bland and oily and I usually pull it off to get to the juicy meat...but not at Delilah's. It was the perfect combination of crunchy and flavorful and I was sure to gobble up any small bit that fell on my plate. The collard greens are also incredible. Not too salty not too saturated. Just perfect. I think I'm going to order a take home portion for holiday dinners at home because I can't make them better than this! The service and personal experience was off the charts and exactly what southern hospitality is all about. My husband and I chatted with Jason, the owner, during our entire meal and learned so many cool things about their family and Delilah's story. I will be going back again and again and again. Definitely plan to take out of towners that are eager to find good authentic soul food.

I decided to have a tapas-style dinner with food from The Works and just had to grab some chicken from Delilah's. The menu is plentiful without being overwhelming, except when it comes to picking a favorite between the flavorful options. I knew that I didn't want or need a full meal and opted for their 3 whole wing option that came paired with cornbread. The young man who took my order was so polite and patient, as there were a few folks in line and waiting for previously placed orders. He let me know that my order would be ready in about 15 minutes so I took the time to continue my food-finding journey around the market. When I returned later, I had lost track of time and figured I'd just poke my head around their stall to see if my chicken was ready. It wasn't at that moment but I took some time to observe the process. There was only one guy in the open kitchen and prep area creating all of the meals and he was on the move. If I could add smells to my review, this one would smell like fried chicken and cornbread. It was all so fresh! When my order was ready, I only made one other stop before heading to my car to go home to my family... but not before I tested those whole wings from Delilah's. When I say that they were fresh out of the grease? Babehhh. It's like he just threw them right into the basket only seconds before. It was sooo crunchy, so juicy, just a fantastic wing. The hot sauce was a nice pairing but some spice in the breading/meat would have taken it over the top but this chicken was delicious. No notes.
