On our way to FSU from NJ via ATL we found this little gem. We came here to kill time before we have to pick up a friend from ATL airport. It's in the art district and the place is very inviting. The layout is open with huge picture windows to let in tons of light. The service is very friendly and accommodating. They asked us where we wanted to sit. They didn't rush us for our order nor did they rush us to leave when we were done. We order two apps and one meal which we split. We got the house made fried pickles and the Randy. The Randy is applewood bacon dipped and fried inside of pancake batter!! So good we also had the 5 cheese grilled cheese sandwich with hand cut fries. I missed out on capturing a picture of the grilled cheese but I did manage to get the apps.
FOLK ART was semi loud with friendly staff. The Vanilla bean latte was VERY sweet. Short ribs & grits- came with eggs over sunny,great flavor when added to the gravy from short ribs.Grits were a little undercooked but the short ribs had great flavor. I didn't care for the cheddar cheese that was on top of the grits. Also the grits had corn in them which was a first for me. Lastly I tried the French toast and added pecans the bread was kinda of dry most of the flavor came from the drizzle on top. I would definitely come again and try some other items on their menu.
Came here for a quick bite during breakfast. I was greeted as I walked in. It wasn't crowded so I sat at the bar. Brielle was my server. She helped me with my options. I ordered the omelette with salmon, Swiss cheese and mushrooms. The meal came with grits and toast. The food was really good. My only sad moment was corn in the grits. So I couldn't eat them.
A friend and I were in the area and decided to check out this place for a drink at the bar. We met the amazing Esmay (sorry if the spelling is wrong) and she was very helpful and answering the questions about the menu as well as making me a special drink. While not pictured, we also ordered the crabcake which was mostly crab. I want to come back again, particularly for brunch.
Stopped at Folk Art on my way to the airport and it was exactly what I needed. All-day breakfast? Yes please. I went with the Breakfast Burger (because an egg belongs on everything) and it was great! Built on a brioche bun, applewood smoked bacon, and the jam took it over the top. Cool vibe, easy atmosphere, and a menu that made me wish I wasn't about to fly out. Next time I'm trying more!
I enjoyed my meals, because it tastes very fresh and clean. This place feels like a cinematic folk tale. It reminds of a scene from Sundance film festival. Our server had been a server for 3 days but she gave experience of a luxury concierge. I will definitely be back to try the brunch!
While visiting Atlanta to see family, we chose FolkArt for Sunday brunch. They do have multiple locations, but we went to the Hapeville location since we weren't aware of the others and wanted to avoid long wait times. Our party consisted of six people, and as you can see from the photos, everyone ordered something different no two dishes were the same. We started with the Craft Mimosa. Our first flavor was watermelon, which is shown in the photo. It was very good and had a strong watermelon flavor. The second flavor we tried was passion fruit, which wasn't my favorite. For a table appetizer, we chose the macaroni balls. They were fried to perfection on the outside, but unfortunately, when I bit into mine, it was cold on the inside, which was a bit disappointing. For my entrée, I ordered the Foul Play (chicken and waffles). I asked for the toppings on the side just in case I didn't like them. The waffle was delicious and didn't even need syrup. The chicken breast was fried well and paired nicely with the waffle. Overall, even though the dish was simple, it was a great choice. Our waitress was very nice and informative. She explained the most popular and top-ordered items, which really helped with our selections. Inside decor was pretty. There was also a bar if solo diner will like to sit there. Will I return? Yes indeed I will.
One of my sibling's fav places to go with his fam and have been before and love to come back. They had a new seasonal drink menu which included many N/A options which was just lovely. Service was great. Space for a big group too. Outdoor seating available. Serve breakfast all day which I love and got for dinner!!
Good food and great service. The biscuits were reheated on the griddle. I didn't like that. I wanted a light and fluffy biscuit, so I wouldn't order that again. Also, the grits had corn in them, not sure why, it added nothing to the grits. Overall, I am glad I happened upon this place while heading into the city from the airport. I will return when I am in Atlanta. It was such a great breakfast spot.
Folk Art is said to be the best breakfast in Atlanta and I have to say, it certainly lived up to the hype. A group of 8 of us visited the Hapeville location for a noonish Saturday brunch and were all blown away. The restaurant is super fun with a great energy and vibe. Lots of vintage signs and local art give this place all the feels. There is a bright, wide open dining space and modern meets yesteryear bar. We were pretty quickly seated even with a busy restaurant and a large party. Our server, Elle, was an absolute hoot. She made the entire experience fun and had us all laughing. She also was quick with recs which was nice as the entire menu looks and sounds incredible. I don't honestly think you will go wrong with anything. I had one of their signature sandwiches, the Bad to the Bone, which was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. The sandwich was a behemoth. Everything was flawless about it. Tender pulled pork, the housemade greens were perfect, the chipotle bbq has a nice smoky flavor and the Gruyère cheese gave it a smooth saltiness. Everyone in the party raved about their food. This is a spot we will for sure be visiting again.

The positives; Saturday at 10am and a party of 5 we were sat immediately ,the food came out quickly, menu has something for everyone. food was served hot. The food is tasty. We got chicken and waffles, omelette, French toast, pancakes, and a mocha coffee. Everything was solid. The negatives while we were sat quickly but it took a while for someone to take our order about 2 minutes which is too long. The server was not very happy to be at work, they weren't rude but also not just . We had a small mix up with our food as a side of spinach was put on the wrong plate which wouldn't have been an issue but we weren't all family so sharing after an item was eaten no one wanted to share. Lastly, we asked for a box and had to get it ourselves. Would I go back? Yes! I know this reviews seems harsh but overall it was a good experience.
Great customer service on this busy Tuesday morning. Our server (Edward) and host very hospitable. Ive been to the Downtown Decatur location and the food was delicious. This location did not disappoint. For 1 app, 2 entrees, 2 sodas & 1 mimosa it was $80 with a $13 tip. The ambiance is clean & rustic. Great for large parties.
Loved my waiter here, but I can't remember her name. My table was next to the host stand so he was helpful as well. I came here with my family for breakfast. The food was ok. I ordered corn beef hash which was a bit bland. The apple cider made up for it a little bit. I also tried the chicken and waffles. There is a red sauce that you should request on the side. The flavor of a tomato based sauce and sugary syrup was a peculiar one. Lastly I tried the fried chicken biscuit with gravy. Classic and the size of the chicken was huge and filling. The restaurant opens up to a patio across the street from a train station. Very sunny with a small town feel. I even took a walk after to look at the little shops all around. I don't think I'll come back to this location. My favorite folk art is in N highlands.

The hostess seated us right away for our reservation. Quirky, bright and artistic decor. We sat near the window. Our server came over and took our drink order to start. We then ordered our meals. Both of us opted for omelettes. There is a vast menu with breakfast and lunch selections. They also have a nice selection of cocktails and even NA drinks. My meal was fantastic. Absolutely delicious! Folk Art is such a cute brunch spot! The atmosphere was fun and the food was really good. I ordered the Folk Southern Fried, which came with fried chicken, a house made biscuit, eggs, and sausage gravy. That sausage gravy was SO good, especially because I'm not even a huge sausage person. The biscuit was also delicious. My friend ordered the Fowl Play and I tried some of the sweet potato waffle. It was SO SO good! I definitely wasn't expecting to love the waffle as much as I did. We also tried the fried chicken sandwich and a mimosa flight, which was the perfect addition to brunch. My only complaint was that we could've been checked on a little more throughout the meal. Everyone was friendly, but the service was a little slow at times. Overall, we had a great experience and I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu! read more

We found this place through yelp. We loved the experience from the second we walked through the door. We dig the vibe. Every staff member we encountered was genuinely nice and accommodating. Donald was amazing. My wife had the breakfast plate, my daughter had the breakfast burrito and I had the Fried Chicken Eggs Benedict. They enjoyed their food. I thought the Fried chicken Eggs Benedict was out of this world. Highly recommend and we will be back the next time we are in town. read more

I been wanting g to visit this spot for a while. At work today I really wanted some good breakfast food. This is my opportunity to try Folk Art. Coming in I love the decor. I was greeted quickly, I wanted to sit at the bar to look over the menu. The bartender was great. I ended up getting the seafood omelet w/ grits. I got the omelet I was a little disappointed. The omelet was a bit dry. I was sitting wondering how can a seafood omelet be dry. This omelet consist of cured salmon, lobster and shrimp w/ america white cheese. However, it taste ok but dry. I can say this one dish will not stop me from coming back. I would like to try some of their other menu items and maybe a fall cocktail. read more

My first experience here was quite a disappointment. My husband and I celebrated our Valentine's Day brunch. We made a reservation and glad we did because they were super busy. We waited for a few minutes to get seated. Our server was not the friendliest nor was he the most attentive. I knew it was going to be an issue because we waited for awhile for our food (I have some restaurant knowledge and there were 2 people in the kitchen and the tickets were pouring in). I ordered the sweet potato waffle topped with banana nut foster and a side of bacon. My husband ordered fowl play. I should have asked for the banana nut foster topping on the side because it was overly sweet that I couldn't eat my meal. I ended up switching with my husband. The chicken on his waffle was okay. The batter was no longer crispy and didn't have any flavor besides the brine. I thought their food was nothing to write home about, which is disappointing because the Inman Park location is such a local institution. read more

It was a good spot; it wasn't crowded. The music wasn't overpowering, and there was a nice aesthetic and ambience. The food was good, and the fritters were amazing. The only downside (for me) is that the chicken could use some salt. read more

We came in on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Not very packed. Cute establishment with old school Atlanta and Georgia memorabilia on the walls. Everything we ordered tasted like items from a fair. All deep fried and yummy lol Service was friendly and attentive and offered several items for us to try. read more

Wow, this place truly lives up to the great reviews! Fantastic service and the food is truly incredible! Ordered many different things since there were so many great and unique things to try. Welcome to Hapeville‼! I love what is happening in the Tri-Cities. Yelp led us to Folk Art, a modernized retro restaurant. I loved the diversity of the patrons and the ability to accommodate any size party. There was even a bar and a couple of screens to watch the games. And now to the main event...da food. Okay! This was our first time trying FolkArt in Hapeville. We really like the one in Inman Park so we decided to go for brunch on Saturday morning around 11am. FYI: The restaurant has a parking lot directly on the side of it. When we arrived inside there was no wait! We were immediately escorted to our table and Elle was our waiter. She was polite and attentive to our customer needs. We ordered: Fried Green Tomatoes for appetizers, Southern Comfort, Short Rib Grits and Eggs, Fowl Play and an Omelette with Turkey bacon as our entrees. Everything was very tasty. One big different that my husband and I noticed is that it SEEMS the portion sizes are smaller at this location compared to Inman. Other than that, everything was great! read more
Everything about this location was TEA as the young Folk(you see how I did that)say. There is street parking, but the do offer a lot, directly next door. There was outside seating, which will be great in the spring and nice summer months. If you know about Hapeville, alot of the brick and mortars are original builds, so the open brick and exposed ceilings are everything! It is very spacious, there is a full bar. They have some cool artwork on their walls, that was for sale. They were conversation peices at our table. The service was top tier. We stopped in during lunchtime, so it was full but we still received immediate attention and seating. We never felt unattended. From being seated by one, water being brought by another, and order being took and the rest of our amazing service from Donold. Each was kind, Donald was really helpful with our food selections and gave great suggestions. Ok the food.... yummy! We started with Fried Green Tomatoes and wait for it.... Pancake battered bacon. For my main dish I had fried boneless chicken brest and a pancake, the birthday guy had chicken sausage, French toast, and hashbrowns. Those appetizers where good. Birthday guy really enjoyed is food and me pancake was great and my chicken breast, fried to perfection very crispy and very juicy, not dry at all. The only problem was, no seasoning. They have unisex restroom(s)... didn't pay attention to see if they offer more than one but the one I used was clean and had the best sink(nope no pics)(didn't bring my phone) I'd say check them out for sure. read more
I found a new brunch spot in Hapeville and I truly enjoyed it! I ordered the Flounder Sammich and it hit every flavor note. The fish was fried to perfection and the fried green tomatoes and chipotle mayo combo was amazing! I also ordered an oatmilk vanilla latte and it was great. When you go make sure to ask for Elle! She was so attentive and gave amazing suggestions. I also snuck a bite of my husband's fried chicken sandwich and it was delicious. I liked the vibe of the restaurant and the decor. Aw yeah, a great addition to Hapeville and its budding food scene. Came in on Friday night with a friend and sat at the bar. Parking - street parking Staff - Wonderful staff, welcoming and friendly - Ethan the bartender rocks Food - they serve breakfast all day in addition to delicious sandwiches, salads, and other platters. I got the chicken and waffle with a whiskey peach compote. My friend got the pancakes with banana nut foster topping. We got a cocktail each. You can go wrong here. I would said the chicken was a little thin and I would have preferred a bone in but of the thigh, but that's me. Maybe some people can't handle that type of eating. Will be coming back to try other items. So far I've had the lobster and flounder sandwiches. Perfectly seasoned and cooked. read more
