Cheerful atmosphere with board games available to play makes this overall a great place. You can order food from nearby restaurants from their menu copies. Three Mile Brewing company is that small town brewery that every small town has. Except this one is in a college small town, and it's full of college kids super into beer. But that's not a bad thing. Let's face it, when you're in a small town and life is most about college you need that small town brewery and this one is perfect. There's a small enough section where you feel like it still has quite the variety. There is a lot of seating both inside and out. Keep in mind that this is a brewery that doesn't have food, minus the little bags of chips, so you are more than welcome to bring your favorite food with you. Hands down one of my favorite breweries even though I'm from out of town - when covid started I did curbside pick up and once was given the wrong beer on accident - the owner went out of his way to make it right and I truly appreciate the effort! Three Mile Brewing is one of the newer taprooms in the greater Sacramento region located in downtown Davis. The modern industrial look facility is near 3rd & G Street, however the front door is off a courtyard accessible from G. I could not tell if they brew the beer here or at a different location. The menu was pretty typical for most new breweries, but I settled on a nice hefeweizen after a long day walking around Davis. My friend was also able to enjoy his beer even with a daughter/monkey climbing all over him! The weather was still a little cool, so we sat inside. There are nice large windows looking out onto the courtyard, but the location lacks the usual people scenery found at other establishments. I guess waiting so long to finally visit raised my expectations too much. There is nothing wrong and Three Mile is a solid addition to the beer scene, but it lacks that something extra to drag me back to Davis. read more

The beer is great, the ambiance is cool and all around a nice brewery. I read the reviews before coming in yesterday and was excited to try the place out. Would highly recommend the Honey Blonde beer. One thing I noticed from the reviews is that many people commented about the great staff. Generally I would agree with one caveat. Of the three servers there that day, two were very helpful and attentive, but one was pretty rude to my wife and I as she condescendingly yelled at us to put our masks on as we were tasting the beers at the bar to order. Now by no means am I anti-mask or anything. Usually I wear masks indoors but having come from outside, and being that we were going to taste samples of beers to order, and also seeing that literally no person aside from staff was wearing a mask, it just didn't occur to me to put it on. Well my wife and I quickly complied, despite that, again, we pulled the masks down immediately as we had to in order to taste the samples. Also I did not get immediately offended by her tone, despite it being pretty brash and unfriendly, although I did find it odd that she would yell at us in the middle of the conversation we were having with another server, especially considering this same server who yelled at us was literally standing two feet away having a lengthy conversation with another maskless patron who was also at the bar. Again, literally all of the patrons who were there did not have masks on. I also noticed as we sat enjoying our beers that of all the many people who entered without a mask to order at the bar after us, she did not also rudely holler at them to put their mask on. I'm not sure if she was having a bad day or if she didn't like the "look" of my wife and I and thought it would be fine to single us out, but I hope she can learn to chill a bit and be more friendly in enforcing the mask policy, which honestly is a little hard to discern what exactly that is given that, again, no one else had masks nor were they told to put their mask when purchasing at the bar, and also this server did not mind the maskless patron two feet in front of her with whom she was having a lengthy and deep conversation to the point that she actually leaned onto the bar to get more comfortable, bringing her in even closer direct contact with any potential risk not having a mask would possibly entail. Again, great beer, most of the servers were nice, will likely come back, but hopefully the management can talk to their staff who are a bit crude in their interactions with patrons. read more

Was just wandering around downtown Davis and found 3 Mile Brewing tucked away in a back alley. It was a great find. Bought a couple of sandwiches at Zias Deli down the street and brought them up to 3Mile to eat. Liked that the room was quiet and uncrowded and well lit. Most of the other burger/bars that we saw were too crowded and/or too dark for my taste. I lean towards IPA and 3 Mile had several to choose from. I was offered a free taste of any that I wanted to try. I tried the Six Fools and Downtown. Liked Downtown better and ordered a glass. It was very good. Didn't have the time/desire to try anymore but will definitely stop in at 3Mile again to do so the next time I'm in or driving by. read more

We stopped here one weekend on the way home from seeing family. This place was awesome! The people were super friendly that were working the bar, it seems to be family owned and you can definitely tell because everyone was great! What we loved is that they make a dubbel belguim ale, that is always hard to find on draft and even made in breweries in the world of IPAs now. Nothing wrong with Three Mile, but not particularly impressive, either. With the multitude of great brew options just down the road in Sacramento, it's unlikely I'd go out of my way to come back here. Dropped in on a Sunday afternoon/evening to have a couple beers with husband. Maybe they are busier in the evening, but other breweries I frequent are pretty busy with families and friends on the weekends, and this place was dead. A cool, breezy, Sunday afternoon, right by a college campus, a few weeks into school starting before class schedules have really picked up? This is more of an observation but not necessarily a problem. The most important feature - the beer. Husband had the double IPA, and I had the hibiscus saison. We are big fans of both genres of beer, and neither was anything to write home about. This is especially important when you don't offer food and your whole emphasis is on your in-house brewing. Staff were pleasant. There was a pup and a toddler waddling around the patio, so both of those are allowed :) Style is typical of the industrial/modern vibe that's popular right now, which looks cool but is not especially comfy. What I love most about this place is the variety and the fact that they brew small batches and rotate their beers frequently meaning that there is usually something new to try every time you come. My favorite beers I've had here are their two browns, Barkada and Lil B. They're smooth and delicious and I enjoy taking them home in a growler. I also thoroughly enjoy the honey blonde and mosaic pale ale. The atmosphere is great, the staff is super friendly and accommodating and it's a fun place to hang out. We went here during the weekend of their soft opening; Valentine's Day, actually. Medium sized taproom with smallish patio space that, during the spring months, will be fantastic. In fact, it was nice weather, so of course the patio space was totally filled out. Service was excellent. Beertender poured us our flight and gave a quick description of our beers. The atmosphere was nice; relaxed place for a pour before a movie. Lots of kids with their parents, some people were playing cards and chatting. Not too loud, but definitely not a quiet zone. The beer itself was excellent. The hoppy pours were unique and clean tasting. The saison was nice. Really happy to have another brewery here in Davis. We heard live music as we were walking down G Street so entered the court to see where it was coming from. People were swing dancing in the courtyard and more were inside the brewery (we had not known it was there) where the band was playing. We decided to check the place out, try a beer and listen to the music. They had 12 beers on tap. Even without live music it seems it would be a fun happening place. This place looks really nice for hangout with family and friends but for the love of God don't order the Beer, it has a strong Chalkie after taste flavor that kills the profile of what a good IPA taste like. This is a good little place to stop by and get a local beer or flight. It's hidden in the back of a courtyard. I would say that it is a well known local place. That's how we found it. They don't serve food but you can bring your own. The beers are good. We've been there a few times. Sometimes the staff can be a bit stiff. Literally stumbled onto this place looking for a smoothie joint. They are kind of in a courtyard off the main street which makes for a nice outdoor seating area. The beers we had were great, and the staff super nice. We're looking forward to adding this to our brewery rotation. read more

Great place to take family! My partner and I went there but there were at least four families there in addition to other friend groups. I get it but geese she should have a better alternative or at least been apologetic or understood if we chose not to enjoy my partners newly poured beer.
